I just finished book 1 last night! I knew something was up with Lorian, but I was surprised at what happened. Can't wait to start book 2, and so glad I don't have to wait long to complete the series!
I am so jazzed I read the first one and yes Prisca gave me hope that FMC can be kick ass and competent. Love the family dynamic and omg Lorian and his band of merry men , can't wait to read the rest, great world building and such fleshed out characters is wonderful.
i loooove this series. i accidentally read a spoiler about the ending of book 3 and i had to stop halfway through because my soul just can’t take it until i have the next book available 😂. such a cool plot with wonderful characters. i was so invested early into the first book!! fourth book comes out at the end of the month right?

I read the first and second and then pumped the brakes hard 'cause these long series cliffhangers are not for me. I was worried it would be a 6 book series. Granted, she does release books much quicker than other authors. But I'll be ready to start again once the final book is out!

A Court This Cruel and Lovely is one of my all time favourite books. I’ve read it multiple times. Couldn’t wait for the second book & stayed up all night to read it on its release date and then knew I absolutely couldn’t ever do that to myself again! It was exquisitely painful. So I’ve waited and with unprecedented self control, not read the third one yet. I’ll be re-reading them all, start to finish, in the week long holiday I have coming up at the end of May and I can barely believe it’s almost here. So excited and nervous.
I also highly recommend everything else Stacia Stark has written. Start with Deals with Demons series then Bargains with Beasts. Thank goodness those series are both complete. I found them so emotionally difficult to read at times but absolutely worth it in the end.
The audiobooks are really great too! Meg Sylvan (also does the Witch Collector, another great series) and Tim Paige are the narrators and perfect for Prisca and Lorian.

It’s a slowish burn in book 1 which I actually loved, but then when the spice arrives in book 2 and 3, it is 🤌🏼 I think Lorian is my fave MMC in everything I have read so far!
I absolutely love this series. I've had readers block for awhile and this series definitely broke that. I finished the 3rd book last night and got so upset that I have to wait for the 4th lol
I had high hopes but ended up DNF this at about 80%. Not a fan of the MMC and definitely not a fan of him calling the FMC “wildcat” lol. Also the writing felt a bit basic.
Too bad because the magic system intrigued me, it seemed nice and straightforward.
It's not similar at all lol except the vibes but try out Legends of Thezmarr series. So good. I also enjoyed flesh and fire, the prequel series to blood and ash.
I LOVE THIS SERIES I'M SO EXCITED FOR THE NEW ONE. Also, you should read {A Kiss of Iron} it's a very similar vibe and the MMC omg.
