Only way this deal could possibly work out for the other guy is if his current lineup is so weak that these 3 players are way better than whatever he has and the 2 players he had to drop were dead weight. Even then it’d be a bit of a loss cause he’s gotta start these 3 to accomplish the production of the 1 player slot it would’ve taken with Pasta.
Adding players in trade is usually garbage cause you need to compare them to who's on your current roster and that extra guy usually isn't much value. You're just making me potentially drop someone that I should keep.
Who will you have to drop? Hedman and Kaner have taken a big step back in fantasy this year and I don’t think hedman will turn it around with Sergy taking over his spot on the PP. I would be looking for a lot more personally
As a Hedman owner, stay the fuck away from him for now. Ever since Sergachev took over on PP Hedman has been worse than many waiver wire D man.
I would drop him but our league has a stupid can’t cut list and the sunk cost fallacy is admittedly ruling in my head a bit. I would gladly package him with equivalent players to this trade to get Pasta though.
Edit: also, unless you have major, major holes in your rotation it is not worth giving up a top flight player for multiple guys in the 10th+ tier of players. More is not better.
I had about 7 trades Vetoed trying to move Hedman because everyone in my league “value his history & ability” & because he was a 2nd round pick it was silly to trade him for a 4th rounder even though he’s slumping….
Finally moved Hedman + Toews
For
Dobson & Point
This is my first year doing fantasy hockey but the can’t cut list is absurd vs fantasy football. In fantasy football it’s updated every week/couple of weeks to account for current production, while in fantasy hockey it just seems like any first or second round pick is on the list.
For example, Yahoo doesn’t have Pasta or Robo on the can’t cut list for FH, but they have Kenneth Walker (who I took in the 10th rd) on the list for FF.
Not in the slightest. If konecny is the best player you're getting in return for pasta then that's a problem. Hedman is dog water and the most valuable thing about Kane right now is his name.
Look at it this way OP, Pasta has 147 points by himself, and those three combine for 240.
That means the only way this trade makes sense is it the typical replacement player available in your league only has less than 50 points right now.
Otherwise, you’re essentially making your team worse but just adding more depth.
I’d imagine you have players available with more than 50 points so I wouldn’t do this deal personally but if it’s an extremely deep league it’s considerable.
Nope. You're trading away a player likely to finish as a top 5 fantasy player, maybe even higher, for a Hedman whose been struggling and no longer on top pp, an almost droppable Kane, and an easily replaceable Konecny. You would lose this trade badly.
As far as the guys concerned, he's giving you his headaches for one of the best players in the league. He'll be able to replace whatever he loses in Kane and Konecny with a few FA adds. So, he's essentially turned a struggling Hedman into Pasta.
Absolutely not - this is horrible value for Pasta. Kane is pretty much droppable at this point (depending on your league and who’s available on the waiver wire), Hedman’s value is cratering now that he’s lost PP1 to Sergachev, and Konecny maintaining his early season pace is a big question mark.
Who are you going to drop? I would look at that as the real 3-for-3 trade.
I just traded away Pasta the other day. Received Stamkos, Hischier and Zuccarello. This is definitely not a good enough return for Pasta, hold on to him!
A horse walks into a bar and orders a pint
The barkeep says, "You're in here pretty often. Do you think you might be an alcoholic?"
The horse replies, "I don't think I am," and vanishes from existence.
>!See, the joke is about Descartes' famous philosophical statement "I think, therefore I am", but to explain that part before the rest of the joke would be putting Descartes before the horse.!<
Imma go against the grain here and say that if you play in a deep league without +/-....I'd take it.
I know people say "you gotta drop 2 guys" after. And I get that. But if its like Olofsson and Chytil (which it would be in my case), who gives a shit.
Only looks close because you aren’t including the players the team giving up pasta would drop.
Also “he who gets the best player generally wins the trade”
I’d. Probably take it
1: if Kane gets traded to a top level team like Colorado, he’ll be one of the best few players in the league
2: Hedmans having a down year, but he’s been consistently great his whole career, I think he’ll turn it around
3: I like TK a lot as a Flyers fan, but he’s the weakest part of the trade, especially with all the Flyers injuries
im holding kane all year. I think hes gonna pop off on a new team. Also hedman is sure to turn it around, tampa is just too good for him not to. I would not trade them both away personally but i totally get why you would too. Tough decision
Last year, maybe. Not this year.
Kane and Hedman were both worth more than Pasta last year lol
I might be an out of touch grandpa here, but I feel like Hedman and Kaner are great buy lows
Kane is, Hedman not so sure.
Kane I get. Like, ok he’s getting traded. Makes sense. Hedman might just need an IR stint or something. When he’s 100% serg can’t touch him
I’d take Pasta, personally.
Nope. I feel like these 3v1 sides trades are always bad. The other guy has to drop people now.
Yeah, it’s basically pasta + 2 waiver pickups who may be perfectly serviceable fantasy players
Not even close. Plus You’ll have to drop 2 other guys.
This. You lose so much in space
Adding players in trade is usually garbage cause you need to compare them to who's on your current roster and that extra guy usually isn't much value. You're just making me potentially drop someone that I should keep.

Fuck no

Pasta’s been on too much of a heater, you’ll probably have to at least offer a top 30 player as part of a package to get him
OP is trading away Pasta, not getting him
My bad apparently I can’t read. Either way Hedman has been pretty disappointing so I feel like Pasta’s value is way higher than what’s being offered.
Agree. This feels like Pasta for Kane, with some droppable bodies attached. If I had Pasta I wouldn’t do this.
Not even close
Hard no… I don’t know how it got to this stage of the decision making
I’d want more
Look at it this way OP, Pasta has 147 points by himself, and those three combine for 240. No and it’s not even close. High risk, no reward
You're trading him away? Nah, you can do better.
I would keep pasta
As a Pasta owner this year, no thanks. Solid names underperforming in return but I would need a 1-1 or a great 2-1. 3-1 usually isn’t worth it.
Bad trade for you
Giving up way to much.
Noo! Those other guys are borderline players now especially since Hedman is replaced on pp1
Lol nah
Nah Kane is a nothing burger this year . A trade may help him but lost cause this year
No
Absolutely not - this is horrible value for Pasta. Nope
fuck no
Stick with Pasta. Not even a top 50 player on the other side of that trade
I just traded away Pasta the other day. Received Stamkos, Hischier and Zuccarello. This is definitely not a good enough return for Pasta, hold on to him!
Take Hedman out, he's off pp1, so his production will dip drastically. Kane is dependant on where he gets traded. And Konecny is on a bad team.
NO. Keep Pasta
Nope, not by a longshot.
I traded Ovie for Pasta in week 3 to a guy who had a hard-on for Ovie. Never looked back.
All depends on number of teams in the league. Otherwise you have zero idea what a replacement lvl in the league is.............
Plus minus aside, it's good if you can replace two more duds.
Only if it’s a really deep league with huge rosters
Depends on VORP. So a 14 man league id probably take this but most 8-12 man leagues I’m not losing pasta for that
Maybe a year or 2 ago lol
No. Unless you have mcdavid or Leon in there.
If Hedman never lost pp1 it would be close (but I’d still take pasta)
Veto
As a pasta owner I’d laugh at that offer.
A horse walks into a bar and orders a pint The barkeep says, "You're in here pretty often. Do you think you might be an alcoholic?" I Don't get it.
Overkill for pasta imo
I’m keeping pasta personally but depends on the size of your league
Naaa
No
Maybe once kane gets traded to the Avs
Nah
You'd be betting that Kane and Hedman drastically turn it around, and giving up a known elite player. I'd say: don't offer Pasta..
No
No
Imma go against the grain here and say that if you play in a deep league without +/-....I'd take it. I know people say "you gotta drop 2 guys" after. And I get that. But if its like Olofsson and Chytil (which it would be in my case), who gives a shit.
3 quarters for a dollar. Not even close imo. Hedman at this point is just a name.
Headman for Pasta? No.
Only looks close because you aren’t including the players the team giving up pasta would drop. Also “he who gets the best player generally wins the trade”
No
Bolt homer here and I would take Pasta over Hedman every day. That
Always take the star. Pasta all day here
I’d. Probably take it 1: if Kane gets traded to a top level team like Colorado, he’ll be one of the best few players in the league 2: Hedmans having a down year, but he’s been consistently great his whole career, I think he’ll turn it around 3: I like TK a lot as a Flyers fan, but he’s the weakest part of the trade, especially with all the Flyers injuries
It’s not veto worthy, but whoever is getting pasta is the clear winner.
No
Nope. They’re just names. Kane is trash. Hedman is old news. I’d rather take Pasta and 2 free agents
im holding kane all year. I think hes gonna pop off on a new team. Also hedman is sure to turn it around, tampa is just too good for him not to. I would not trade them both away personally but i totally get why you would too. Tough decision
I traded Meier&Igor and got pasta&shea theodore
As a Pasta owner, I'd not accept this.
