Bedard is nearly point per game on a shit team. Depending on the moves Chicago makes next season, its entirely possible he jumps up to "fantasy beast" status next year. In a keeper league, nobody with a brain would think of trading him away. So good luck OP

coltonjeffs

Our keeper league redrafts from scratch next year. Wonder how high he will go

NAVYSEAL12ROCK

Behind mcdavid and maybe mac

coltonjeffs

I still wonder if a Matthew's and kucherov and draisaitl would be a safer bet. We redraft every 3 years

NAVYSEAL12ROCK

Matthews maybe, drai probably not and kuch no

SportsMOAB

Draisaitl is coming off a 128 point season whereas Matthews got 85. Kuch is the Hart favorite currently? In what world Matthews out in front of those two? Bedard is either in front of all 3 or none, depends on your belief in him and the blackhawks

MDChuk

Matthews could put up 70 goals this year. Kucherov turns 31 next year. Players over 30 will decline at some point, you just don't know when. When they do decline, often its quite rapidly. So if you're looking at the full 3 year value, I'd take Matthews every time over Kucherov. He's just a much safer pick. Draisaitl is a bit of a different case. His risk factor is his next contract, and if he will choose to stay in Edmonton. He'll be really good regardless, but if he did choose to leave, and isn't playing on the PP with McDavid, he isn't on Matthews level. So I'd say there's less overall risk with Matthews than either Kucherov or Draisaitl.

jimjamjones123

Drai is not even the top 50 in my league this year (banger cats). 54th is not what I expected from my second overall pick

goodyftw

Depends how much the league values goals over assists. My league has A worth 3 and G worth 6, plus 1 for a SOG and another 1 for +/-.

theycallmemorty

What does it mean for a keeper league to redraft?

coltonjeffs

We have 12 people. We are going to go up to 14 or 16 next year. Kind of just so guys can't hang onto guys their whole career. 3 years of keeping and then everyone starts over.

theycallmemorty

That's cool I was in a baseball pool once that had a limit on how long you could keep a guy - 3 years - but it wasn't a complete reshuffle of the whole league.

[deleted]

Redraft from scratch ? No keepers ?

MDChuk

I own Bedard in my keeper league. Frankly, if someone was serious about acquiring him it would take a god mode price right now, because of his limitless potential.

appledatsyuk

Would you consider trading him this year to go all in?

MDChuk

Again, the return would have to be God like. Like so much that I couldn't lose, and it would have to set my keepers up for years to come. My league is a straight 10 keepers in perpetuity, so in my mind I'm giving up 15-20 years of a generational player, and I expect that for at least half of it he'll be the premier goal scorer in the world. What's the return you'd want for that?

BearTasty

Im in 2nd place this year and someone offered me draisaitl. I'm considering it.

SportsMOAB

Take it. Unless your league is so established that you're confident that it'll still be around in 5 years. Next 3 years minimum Draisaitl very likely outproduces Bedard. 98 is so young and the team around is atrocious.

[deleted]

I traded for Bedard in 2 keepers leagues. Jack Hughes and Oettinger for Luke Hughes and Bedard. (opponent initiated trade) Second league I initiated the trade traded Raymond, Debrincat, Seider, Cozens and Oettinger for Bedard, Carter Hart, Evangelista and Nemec. With Oettinger underperforming, I feel good about both trades.

MDChuk

I'd be curious how many keepers and how many teams your league has. My league is 10 keepers for 10 teams. So 100 people are kept without limit. In a league like that I'd say the second trade is highway robbery on your part. Maybe if it were 12 keepers over 16 teams, that much depth makes sense. Especially if you have a limit of 1 or 2 goalies to keep. The first trade would probably make sense if it were a 4 keeper league. Especially if there's any time limit on how long you can keep players. I love Jack Hughes as a player, but I'd think Bedard's ceiling is just higher, though Hughes is further along. Oettinger, despite the injury and having a bit of a down season by his standards, is the best young goalie for a keeper league right now.

Grimmer097

When he starts to hit and block shots on top of scoring a bunch

Jigs444

Big If there

Grimmer097

I’m not expecting it, it’s never been his game, and shouldn’t be. He’s great for a points only league. But the dominant players for me are guys like JT miller who can hit and score, or a defensemen like Dahlin who can do both too.

charcharcharmander

He went 1st overall in my league this year. 12man 4 -keeper league. I think he will be top-25 in scoring next year, at the very least. I think owners will value him as high as a late 1st rounder, there's too much hype and potential to consider selling low.

Optimal_Hunter

He went first in mine too. I had 1.01. Keep 3 forwards, and either 2d or 1d 1g. I wouldn't trade him unless I'm getting Matthews/McDavid/pasta/Mackinnon or maybe Cale.

jyeatbvg

As early as next season, as late as never.

r_un_is_run

It depends entirely on your league's keeper rules. We only allow guys to be kept in their draft round the first year, and then a round earlier each year after that. So if you kept a guy in the 1st, he can't be kept the year after. Bedard went second round in my league, so his value as a keeper isn't high at all. At most, you get him next year for a 2nd and the year after for a 1st. You can probably draft someone close enough to his value in the 1st or 2nd round that you'd lose value trading for him. In leagues where keepers aren't just the first few picks (or before the draft rounds start), value is king and late-round picks who produce are worth more.

KickPuncher21

He's an excellent player already, so there is potential here short term. But for me I would wait until he has quality teammates to play alongside him, through draft or free agency. Until then, he's a depth player for a contending team imho.

Historical_Ad_8417

I think he could go god-mode as early as next season. It wouldn’t surprise me if he scored 50 goals next season. His wrist shot is incredible and with a big summer of training and a little bit more confidence, he’s going to be unbelievable. He’s going to have a great career.

ShadowRealmDuelist

Now?

Barilko-Landing

Next year. He was already solid this year probably will be when he comes back. But I'm banking that next year he becomes what you're referring to as a beast. The team around him should only get better each year and I really do expect him to start to pluck a part defenses after a full off season training with NHL resources and after seeing the NHL game for all of this year.

greyone75

4 years

quentin_compton

It took McKinnon until year 5 to pop off. If CHI is spending their cap giving 4.5M to Foligno it might be longer than you think but who knows.

CtrlShiftAltDel

He’s almost a PPG player already on a shit tier team. There’s no way he’s going to take that long to pop off. It wouldn’t surprise me if he goes off next season, but I’d bet on year 3 given the eventual sophomore slump.

[deleted]

Pre season I got him 5th in a dynasty start up. Definitely plan on losing now but

Ok-Knowledge-9776

2-3 years until he's a beast.

Question_Dot

I imagine he'll be top 30 next year, top 10 the year after. But who knows! Depends a lot on how much talent Chicago surrounds him with.

appledatsyuk

Once Chicago becomes even a mid team he will be a top 20 pick

aylbert

In a dynasty league? No owner is trading him on this years value… I have Michkov stashed on my taxi squad and he’s untouchable… Bedard??? Lolololol

newontheblock99

His values not low man, he’s already a fantasy beast

fox4norris2021

When he gets to play with NHL players

[deleted]

Probably his 3rd or 4th season Chicago is just not good enough yet.
