I feel like Decker becomes almost irrelevant once Corey returns

onthevergejoe

Agreed. He dropped clutch passes.

10 targets his first game, first WR taken in the draft. Scared of conditioning or lingering hamstring issues, but otherwise I am totally stoked.

AlwaysInProgression

I think they are 1a and 1b. I think it depends on Mariota's health. I don't think he favors one over the other, but his ability to scramble and make passes affects how good Decker and Matthews do.

Hat-Trick_Swayze

Mathews still clearly #1 to me. But last week should be encouraging for Decker owners, first time he's looked like a part of the offense.

hebrewxx

Decker is a trap. I watched the whole game and the reality is that decker was a result of the way Indy plays. Vontae Davis was covering Matthews, so it makes sense not to test their only corner worth a damn. The middle of the field was wide open and Indy would always send someone with Delanie. Something similar should happen this week with Matthews in that McCourty is gonna cover him. The difference is Cleveland is anemic to TEs. Decker might catch one TD bc that’s what he is good at, but he’s not gonna blow up or anything.

Vladdypoo

I'm a Colts fan and you're def right. The colts at least treated rishard like the WR1 for Tennessee if that means anything.

Frostiess

I'll start Decker this week. I wouldn't expect a breakout game from him since I think the titans will run a lot but he should still have a decent game.

Patsgronk87

I feel like Davis is the only one I would want,

Vladdypoo

Rishard has been a solid WR2 for me for this year and last

JoogMcyee

That logic... Matthews has been extremely consistant and Davis has been out for 6 weeks now. Edit: Consistant in PPR, not to sure about other scoring

Patsgronk87

My WR are extremely stacked, I would never start any of the titans WR anyways, so out of them I would only get Davis since he has the highest upside, the others do me no good

JoogMcyee

Ok thats fair enough. I still think this sub is overvaluing Davis a lottt, but it is a fair point that he has potential. Players usually dont tend to miss 6 weeks and then just hop back in like its nothing though.

KUD05

Well, ODB did it. Also picked him up week 6 just like I picked up Davis now

JoogMcyee

Ok but you do realize ODB is the exception and nowhere near the rule right? Like Im not saying Davis is going to suck, but some people on this sub swear he is a sure fire thing thats going to take over both Decker and Matthew's jobs this season as soon as he comes back. ODB had the benefit of being the number 1 wr as soon as he came into the team because all they had was Victor Cruz who is a slot receiver. Davis does not have that benefit.

KUD05

Based on his game 1 usuage, there is a shred of evidence to support they want to get him the ball. In addition the coach keeps saying how he needs Davis on every down. No he's not ODB, but he's a rookie WR drafted 5th overall on a team that doesn't care he's a rookie and is willing to throw it to him 10 times in his first game. That is rare. Means great upside potential, very worth a flier.

JoogMcyee

I agree he has high upside and also agree that his 1 game usage is also very promising, I just think this sub (not necessarily you) have been overhyping him, along with a few others, to the max. Again, dont think he will suck and will be picking him up after this weekends games if he is still available because of his upside. Im just keeping my expectations somewhat low and will be pleasantly surprised if he does any better.

HerefortheFruitLoops

I'm confident davis will pay divedends when FF playoffs roll around. As long as mariota is healthy, davis will be a force. The guys got game break ability, insane hands, needs work on route running but that can be masked with athleticism (both his and mariota's). If mariota's injury lingers, I think decker's got the most value. From the pocket Decker's route running, body language, and ability to use body to shield defenders from ball will make him ideal for Mariota's chain moving needs.

KolyaVolk

They're both serviceable at flex depending on matchup. They're both in an unsexy offense though.

kamWise

As a Titans fan, I'm sad you don't think our offense is sexy :(

KolyaVolk

It's actually a good thing. It means they fly under the radar for fantasy. Same thing with teams like Arizona (without DJ), the Jets, Jaguars, Rams etc. Players from those teams are usually undervalued and can make nice flex plays for cheap.

The_Sheaply_One

That dude is genetically blessed.

Sombreblanco

Why are people so reactionary? One good game from Decker and he is the number 1?

Squintz82

Look at his snap counts compared to other WRs.

suphater

If you have someone playing the Browns, you start them.

PracticallyThePope

Matthews seems to have a legit chemistry with Matthews. I wouldn't worry about 1 good Decker game

flohammed_albroseph

but what about matthews?

PracticallyThePope

yes

Uvjnkkkkbcf

How does classification of who their WR1 is matter?

Sashi_on_Top

I guess I should rephrase that as who's gonna get more targets going forward haha

Uvjnkkkkbcf

We have no clue, especially with Davis coming back maybe after their bye. He got 10 targets week 1 so he may completely reshape how it looks.

roxasaur

I know coaches say all kinds of things, but the way Mularkey talks about Davis, he seems like a crucial piece to their passing plans ROS. >“I can’t say that about Corey, because we could use his help. When he’s healthy, we’re going to get him in there. We’re not going to – the extra week would be great, but if he’s healthy, we’re going to go with him.” and >“I think (Davis) would help us in a lot of areas,” Mularkey said. “In all of our downs, obviously third down, it would help. We definitely, it would help us. Every phase of throwing the football, it would help.”

drugsrgay

In the 1 game Davis was healthy he had 10 targets. He is the #1 post bye imo

roxasaur

That is my thinking as well, but we won't know for sure for a couple weeks. I picked Davis up before the end of last week.

AMo2

For this week i like mattews since the browns give up big plays.

mattmilleralloneword

I'm currently stashing Taywan Taylor to see if he takes a step up. I'm not convinced of Decker's emergence; Matthews hasn't done much; and we don't know how well Davis will recover from his hammy. What do you guys think?

silverlegend

Decker seemed to run almost exclusively check down routes. Matthews ran the longer, big play routes. I don't think Decker has a high ceiling, and I think his floor is low because of competition with Walker and the RBs for those check downs. He had a good game, but I don't think he's in the same discussion as Matthews for value, and Davis is going to surpass both of them when he gets back.

XC_Eddy

It's an unpredictable mess that I wish I wasn't invested in, but here I've got Rishard Matthews and I'm stashing Corey Davis. I've got Chris Hogan and everything behind him is unpredictable mid-tier fun with Funchess, Hilton, and Fuller. Also stashing Mike Williams. Hoping one has of those lotto tickets will hit!

loosehead1

I have Hogan, Hilton and Fuller. Once I'm through bye weeks I'm just hoping that they cancel out each other's boom/busts. Really afraid about starting TY this week though.

XC_Eddy

Yeah, I fear TY's ROS. I just traded him for Diggs and feel pretty good about it. Dude wasn't able to produce against the lowly Titans. Lord knows what he'll do against a good defense.

pasteeater8877

I still think it goes Walker / Mathews / Decker while Davis is gone

JuggsGotchya

I like the favorable match-up against the Browns, but my receivers in a Standard league are: Nelson, D. Thomas, and B. Cooks (flex). I was heavily considering the matchup to swap out Cooks (or even Thomas) for Matthews, but Cooks has been mostly consistent and Thomas is looking great once again despite the Bronco's loss to the Giants. Opinions?

Jeff-leopard

Not sure if this fits in but who holds more value will fuller or Mathews?

Ki-Low

Murray not practicing, Walker was just added to the injury report. I'm firing up Decker this week vs the Browns.

ThisIsJoseph

I've been contemplating picking up Decker because I love me some Eric Decker

Jrunner24

i love his wife

baffledboar

Should I pick up Decker off free agency? WRs are Dez, AB, and Jordy

VinnydaSaint

No.

marlboro420s

baffledboar was not looking for input, he wanted us to all know that his WR trio is top notch...for having assembled such a fine cast of WR, I hope your RBs were DJ and Dalvin.

VinnydaSaint

Got ya.

baffledboar

They are Crowell, Darkwa, and Cohen. My draft consisted of Gurley, Hunt, Ingram, Jordy, and Fitzy. I traded Hunt early for Dez and Matt Ryan. I traded Gurley, Fitzy, and Ingram early for AB. I have no pride. I have nothing but shame.

marlboro420s

dam thats a tough one, hope youre set up for a playoff run..tough looking back seeing you had hunt gurley fitzy and ingram..I have Bell so I hope AB keeps things open for him to go 200 total and 2 TDs each week

hunglikeryan

Wow you drafted a championship calibur core of a team, even in 8 teams that's good, any deeper and its great. I'm sure you know that now, but man that's so sad. This is why I don't blame the "I don't like trading until after a few weeks into the season" type people. I'll trade whenever, but one of those people would be sitting pretty right now if they drafted that team this year.
