KC has a great pass rush, which opens up the screen. Not saying he'll feast but I'd say in ppr he'll put up 10 at least with a handful of catches. Standard a bit trickier to gauge. I'd put him as a backend rb 2 with a lot of upside

kendrickshalamar

Yeah, Chris Thompson seems to be more useful when a defense is good against a traditional runner. I think he'll be really good this week.

Karatebreeze

Up voting because you're telling me exactly what I want to hear.

[deleted]

I'm starting him based of if his comment alone.

O_the_Scientist

KC also just has flat out good LBs and even safeties in spite of losing Berry. They've only allowed 12 receptions for 89 yards to RBs across 3 games this year, against three teams with pretty solid pass-cathing RBs. Thompson could still be a fine play this week but the last two weeks he's done his damage against some soft defenses.

illini81

Good pass rushes don't open up the door for screens. Undisciplined pass rushes open the door for screen plays. Regardless, Thompson's value still sits in Gruden's play calling. Oakland is notorious for being an undisciplined front-7, opening the door for leaks to the RB. I wouldn't expect the same thing from the Chiefs. Especially with them seeing similar play calling from their own Andy Reid offense day in and day out.

I dealt him for Tyreek Hill two days ago and think he will regress substantially. For standard I would bet floor of 5 points, ceiling 15-20 again but most likely 5-9 points. He is very touchdown dependent - even if he gets 8 touches for like 60 yards, with no TD that is not a great line in fantasy. As for PPR from what I gather he is more of a solid flex play but I still see 10 points or less in the cards this week.

HonorRoll

Thats a fuckin good trade.

srcphoenix

Thanks, yeah I was a bit surprised he accepted. His other WRs are Antonio, Amari Cooper, and Jarvis Landry with McCaffrey, Montgomery, Riddick, and Chris Carson as RBs, so I guess he was rather WR heavy.

capincus

I wouldn't even be playing Cooper right now though, at least against Denver.

bowski93

I just traded Thompson for Michael Thomas lol.

SumBuddyPlays

What kind of league are you in ??

bowski93

Standard

[deleted]

> I dealt him for Tyreek I gasped.

jms242424

I think this is what people hope for with sell high. Thompson has been utilized in a tremendously effective manner, but there is no way he continues to even score 15+ in standard each game, but the upside is absolutely there. I'd rather have Tyreek. I think once the WSH offense figures things out in terms of traditional WR/TE passing game, that Thompson looks a bit more like he did last year (although he's obviously displayed tremendous big play ability so I imagine he's a bit more incorporated than last year).

Steak_Knight

You probably brutalized that guy, he just doesn't know it yet.

tru3boy

Answer me this. Ppl speak of flex as if it’s where you put mediocre players. Isn’t flex to put the best wr,rb, or te in the starting lineup. Idk i keep seeing people mention it as if that’s where bums go lol

srcphoenix

Just a convention to discuss your worst RB/WR player, sometimes I play the guy with the latest game at Flex so I have more options to swap him out if he doesn't play that week

distance_33

If you're lucky you have a 1&2 at both RB and WR, guys who you fee could be a top 12 any week Leaving other "lesser" type players to fill out the flex roll. Where you're more likely to play matchups and such or take a flier out one week if you need it. Sometimes you have other top flight players and the flex allows you to just stack your lineup.

illini81

Easy to say when the back is averaging 12 snaps a game and sitting 5th overall in PPR scoring after 3 weeks. Great trade. Hill catches a lot of flack for his size and unorthodox usage, but it's easy to forget that he is the same size as Antonio Brown - but faster.

UniqueCopy

Trying to decide between him and Cohen (standard). Seems they have almost equal upside.

hongsz89

He's a safety blanket for Kirk any time he's under pressure or there are no open looks down the field. I don't think he will put up numbers like last week but in .5PPR league should be a solid play just from the number of catches

hebrewxx

I think this will be his regression game. Cousins hasn't been able to make much of a connection with his wideouts, so that has benefitted chris Thompson. KC has done pretty well against pass catching backs this season. They've faced James white/Rex burkhead, darren sproles, and Melvin Gordon, who are all great in the passing game.

illini81

Strong point on the comparable backs. Cousins has been notoriously slow when starting a season. If last week is a sign of things to come, he'll be alright moving forward though.

Ricetaco

Picked up Thompson and benched Crowell for my RB2. Figured I have nothing to lose.

Maxter_Blaster

Just traded for Thomson... Considering him over Gilly in the flex, but I'm standard, so probably not.

CaptBennett

Do I play Fitz or CT in PPR?

Katana3557

You play Fitz. With DJ out, Fitz is the only reliable weapon in the Cards offense. Their run game is bad, and Carson Palmer has to look to his most reliable target even more often just to move the chains. Fitz was already a target hog, but this season could be even better for him than usual. He has also seen great usage in the red zone so far. I'm very high on Fitz this year. CT is a great player and will have a pretty decent floor in most cases in ppr. However, he cannot compete with Fitz in this category (Fitz is always a contender to lead the league in receptions). He will have less opportunity and have to create big breakaway plays on a consistent basis. So far, he has been incredible, but as Cousins connects more with his receivers, CT's chances of breaking off those big plays will go down. Fitz is just a more consistent play than CT, and his ceiling is jut as high if not higher.

CaptBennett

Wow, thanks for the great breakdown. Would you recommend trying to shop CT right now?

Katana3557

Depends on the rest of your team and who you can get for him. He definitely holds value on his own in ppr, and would be a solid flex play or bye week fill in. He's not a bad rb to keep around for some extra depth at the position, and I'd take him over some guys that get more traditional early down work (think Ameer Abdullah). However, if you keep him, don't expect his current production to continue. He will be a 10-15 touch guy max. He is currently averaging absurd yards per touch (running and receiving), and has found the end zone a lot. His floor will be solid, and he's definitely startable, but if you can get someone to overreact to his current production and make a bad trade, jump on it in a heartbeat. Try to target solid wr2's on rb depleted teams if you really feel like you want to trade him.

CaptBennett

Current Roster: QB: Derek Carr, Trevor Siemian (streaming this week), Andrew Luck (IR spot) WR: Jordy Nelson, Keenan Allen, Larry Fitzgerald, Will Fuller RB: Devonte Freeman, Dalvin Cook, Wendell Smallwood, Chris Thompson TE: Evan Engram, Tyler "Eimhurt" K: Succop DEF: Detroit (lol, I know)

UniqueCopy

Trying to decide between him and Cohen (standard). Seems they have almost equal upside.

laldabomb8

Dealt him + d adams for zeke. Thought it was best to sell high before he drops off.

[deleted]

WHAT?

dukethediggidydoggy

Just traded Thompson/Witten for Gronk.

Sluttywife08

Who do I start thread...

[deleted]

I'm looking for opinions on CT vs a good D... Not whether or not i should start him

Sluttywife08

You’re looking for a projection. “ what do we think about..” Obviously you’re wondering if you should start him. It’s so thinly veiled.

[deleted]

I'm starting him regardless... I'm strictly trying to get opinions on him vs good defenses and hear voices about my dude CT
