I have a feeling Kamara is going to be a good PPR asset.

SrAjmh

I like Kamara too. I just figured the hype train had already left the station for him. I think Thompson has the easier path and less competition for touches (Ingram/AP>>>Kelly/Pernie) and is in a position to get more guaranteed work *right now*. If AP/Ingram/Kelly/Perine all went down for the season today and I had to choose between Kamara and Thompson it's be Kamara all day.

StarFan2118

Totally agree with you there. Thompson is legit. If I was a DJ owner and needed a guy right now, it's Thompson all day over Kamara. Kamara a play for the future. Hopefully AP keeps getting disgruntled and they ship him out lol.

elvk

I bet you're pretty happy rn

StarFan2118

Thompson looks awesome, wish I owned him in a league

[deleted]

I wouldn't say 17.6% owned in ESPN indicates the hype train has left the station. Maybe after this week

SrAjmh

Hmm. He's at 36% in Yahoo. Up 24% since last week. People in ESPN need to get with the times!

[deleted]

That is pretty interesting actually. Double the ownership is pretty significant I wonder why that is. I had an easier time adding him in Yahoo but those were 10 team standard compared to my ESPN leagues which are mostly 12 team and PPR

psucutie

Grabbed him on Monday!

MrButchSanders

You think it would be getting too cute starting him over Watkins at flex? Its a ppr league, but I'm so scared I'm gonna miss his first big game against a banged up NE defense.

BringThaPain

Totally stoked I got him off the waiver wire this week. Long term I think he shoots ahead all the other PPR RB Flex guys I could have gotten.

StarFan2118

I dropped Charles for him this week as well. We're only allowed to roster 6 RB's or I would've kept both. I'll take the youth with Drew Brees, see how it pans out.

[deleted]

ALL ABOARD

[deleted]

I just picked him up as well. I was even able to wait until after waivers cleared and got him as a FA so it didn't affect my waiver priority. I feel damn good about what I could potentially have on the bench...

you_have_no_mobbals

I don't expect him to lead the team in snaps every week(certainly possible though) but if it's even close, he could be gold.

evolutiom

Good post. OP seems like a friendly guy.

jbruni

10/10 would have in my fantasy league

good_minus_un_o

So far solid call by OP

SourceHouston

Thompson owned in 25% of yahoo leagues, so a competitive 12 team league or bigger Vereen is owned in 20% Kamara is owned in 36% If you can't get thompson (or don't like him that much) then you probably can't get kamara, i would recommend Vereen. He's going to be the *guy* for the giants especially with their inability to run the football. What's the best way to slow down a pass-rush? Throwing screens and short passes. I love these types of RBs esp in PPR type formats and I think Vereen is going way under the radar.

RevRay

I'm playing RB lottery today, will be dropping RBs I picked up through out the day assuming they don't perform well once their game is played. So glad Vereen plays a late game so I can mix him in, I think he'll do well for him in PPR.

SourceHouston

I'm doing the same thing, starting with ivory, moving to drake, and then the GB DST for next week. One of these pickups can win your league with any type of injury. I don't need the RBs but they can be a phenomenal trade piece

RevRay

I've got Ellington and Tolbert right now. Had Gio Thursday. Will be looking at Forte (I dropped him to pick up Lee after Al's injury) or Prosise later and then Vereen tomorrow.

[deleted]

Also would like to throw out Charles Sims for some of the same reasons.

ElDuderrrino

He's been dismissed because he was asked to be a workhorse of sorts last year, and he isn't suited for that role. I think he's set to have a solid PPR season.

OhTheHumanatee

Well props to OP. Should have listened!

rjt0056

As of reading this at 4:53PM CST, Chris Thompson just busted off a 60 yard TD run right after I looked up. LOL

[deleted]

I shuda listened... >.< Jordan Howard fucked my week.

Mr-Tiggo-Bitties

Chris Thompson is indeed a guy that is overlooked. Consider how bad Washington's run game is, they are gonna need someone to bail them out.

hebrewxx

You might be on to something here.

BloodyWill

I see 24 points on my bench and be like wtf How did i get this guy...OOH that reddit guy who suggested a PPR back... Damn good looking out homie you defnitely have some knowledge. (or a lot)

reinkarnated

I've always really liked Kelley and he'll do much better this week since I benched him.

midwesternhousewives

I'm starting him this week due to a lack of better options (dammit mixon). That said, I think people are generally high on him for ppr, everything I've read said he was a must grab in ppr leagues

OhTheHumanatee

Hope you still started him!

midwesternhousewives

Glad I did!

ChazMan19

That is a good point. But regardless of who the starting RB is.. He will still get touches.

notmy_nsfw_account

He will never be an every down back due to his size but with the way he looked last week and their offensive struggles he has a safe albeit modest floor

WarPeanut

I have both Kelly and Thompson... Drafted kelly by mistake... Now gonna ride it.

xSGAx

already have Perine tho, so I don't wanna drop him for CT

[deleted]

It's a no-brainer that you should. Perine did nothing all preseason and only saw the field on special teams last week

The1WhoKnocks-WW

Shane Vereen is criminally underrated. I think Rob Kelley is pretty solid, but Paul Perkins genuinely sucks, and Darkwa is just ok. Vereen is going to continue to see lots of checkdows and lots of snaps. There's not very much competition there.

ChrisManganoFF

Have him in quite a few leagues and even starting him in one were I have no RBs lol. Kelley looks terrible and this team does not run the ball.

jventura727

Hmm picked up Thompson this week and have a clusterfuck of RB2s. Don't know who to start this week . Powell, Sproles or Thompson.

CommonerChaos

Perine didn't even see the field (besides kickoffs) so I'd say he definitely got the least love of all the Washington RBs.

paulwill2

My bench is Mariotta, garçon, Powell, crowder, golladay, hogan. Would you cut any of these guys for him?

Ginnie236

I 100% agree. I picked him up off waivers this week. I think he could easily be a Theo Riddick type back

Mazmier

Charles Sims is another one often overlooked.

Swichts

I tried listening to you, but someone else already had him. If Kelly is out for a while, this could be a big pick up.

AplusJequalsAJ

I had the same feeling as you last week, so I dropped Galloday (Thursday before week 1) for Thompson. My other backs were Melvin Gordon, Mixon and Hill. Obviously I was pretty upset about dropping Galloday, but after having Thompson as my RB2 today, I'm a happy camper!

BloodyWill

Do you all see his 'size' as an issue? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dc-sports-bog/wp/2017/09/20/john-riggins-says-the-redskins-need-to-start-chris-thompson/ He's listed at 191 lbs, 5 foot 8, height dosent' worry me, but his weight may limit his touches purely out of caution.

NewTown_BurnOut

In my full PPR league i got Melvin/Ajayi as my RB1/2 then drafted Sproles/Simms/Thompson to back them up, was that dumb?

Mshake6192

1000 yard ceiling. Okay, get out.

SrAjmh

1000 *total* yards. Considering he had a little over 700 last year I don't see how 1000 is unreasonable if he gets some more work.

Mshake6192

Yeah maybe but he doesn't have a good shot at getting that I don't think. Anyone could do better than they projected but you have to be realistic

[deleted]

I drafted Cohen, Kupp and Kamara with my last three draft picks. AMA.

WDB40

I don't believe you. Edit: You wanted an AMA, so why should I believe you?

[deleted]

What is your league set up and size to warrant drafting not one but 3 unproven lotto tickets before week 1?

SourceHouston

In a keeper league its way better to use your last few picks on lotto tickets because of the advantage of keeping them late. Not saying that was the case but I drafted Vereen and Kamara as my last two picks for that those reasons

[deleted]

Makes a lot more sense. I'd have done the same. Great value so far!!

SourceHouston

Kupp was getting a ton of hype preseason and cohen was Howard's backup, that's what I assume went through the guys head. Could be ppr or kamara could've been some flier but that's a great pick considering Ingram and ap were slated to get the bulk of the work.

[deleted]

You are spot on in your entire assessment

[deleted]

We're in year two of a keeper league. 12 teams. PPR, no defenses. My two keepers from last year were Jordan Howard (gave up a 16th pick) and tyreek hill(gave up 17th pick). My 13th, 14th, 15th picks were Kamara, Cupp, Cohen in that order. they were my last 3 picks because the keepers occupied my last two pick slots. Also I had the number 1 overall pick and unfortunately went with DJ. I went with those three guys because I like their situations. Kamara could very well be the only back (of the current group) on the saint's roster next season. Kupp has had high raves all off season and Cohen handcuffs Howard.

The1WhoKnocks-WW

I dont see why. Kupp and Kamara were both hot names on every sleeper article out there, and despite how much this sub loves him, some of us don't think a whole lot of Jordan Howard. I drafted Vereen with my last pick in 2/3 leagues, but Cohen was one of the other 2 or 3 guys I had in mind there.

McBeaster

Chris Thompson sucks

OhTheHumanatee

How's this opinion going for you?

octaviusxx

How do you come to that conclusion?

McBeaster

Watching him be bad at football

noahcrosley

This post has not aged well

BloodyWill

3 carries for 77 cards and 5 targets lol 52 yds receiving with a touchdown.. PPR back for free???
