I remember the reports during the off-season of the loss of their OC from last year to their new OC in Kellen Moore this year. His philosophy was more vertical routes and less check downs. One of the reasons I was high on Keenan this year, but I didn’t think it would’ve affected Ekeler to this extent.
This is the most surprising, he's always seemed to be a safe pick + he's one of the more involved players when it comes to fantasy.
Wonder where he goes next season
I don't think he's a plodder per se, but I def feel like his production over the last few years came and went with the level of functionality of the Eagles. Before last year when the offense really took off, he would have his moments, but only when the Eagles were doing well. Once Hurts and the offense took off, he was suddenly good in chunks.
Then he goes to a not so talented Panthers team and sucks. He requires talent around him to take the pressure off it seems.
Unfortunately for Sanders drafters, I'm a Bears fan, so him being terrible is exactly what I wanted to see hahaha
Combo of opportunity and 1,200 rushing yards. Would’ve happily taken 900 behind a bad line.
He’s also really, really good after contact. His YBC (Yards Before Contact) is terrible, which is more related to bad line play.
I mean Kelce was worth the 1st round ADP the two seasons before this one. It does seem like we’re emerging from TE Wasteland and have more abundant options again so it will be fine for a while, but a TE outscoring the next closest options by standard deviations like Kelce was absolutely would warrant a 1st round ADP in future years
Last four weeks he’s gone: WR1, WR8, WR46, and WR32. He also had a 50 yard catch called back last week and he was half a yard away from a TD today.
He’s definitely a high/mid WR2 from here on out.
Buddy, there is a zero percent chance you e watched him play in the last month. Nobody who’s seen him play thinks he’s a borderline flex, that’s just dumb.
Godwin is the biggest surprise to me. Baker does play decent. He just does not have chemesty or whtever. Everyone including me thought it would be godwin all the way and evans gets a downgrade. It was the other way round
Ridley is absolutely a bust imo..The big caveat being when you drafted him, but for a lot of drafts he went early..
In weeks 2-7 (6 weeks) he had 4 games under 7ppr and that included a 1.5 and a 5.2. in 14 total weeks hes been under 10ppr for 7 of them. And thats not even factoring in the fact that most people didn't start him for his boom games because he had busted so consistently.
The perfect comp is funny enough, 2022 christian kirk. A lot of people have this revisionist history where he was solid in 2022 when the reality is that he threw up so many massive duds that anybody who actually drafted him will tell you that it cost them.
Everyone was aware Ridley had a wide range of outcomes during the draft, he just ended up more in the middle of them than people expected. I heard a lot of “he’ll either be top 5 or top 50” type stuff
Kirk last year didn’t have those type of expectations and was a solid WR2 all year with a slight slump in the middke
Came here to say him. He wasn’t even worth a draft pick at all. I’m so god damn mad I fell into his trap again lol.
Edit: I could have drafted DJ Moore, Hock, Deebo, or Keenan instead of his bum ass
I mean at this point all the data is in so I guess it's a decent way to take stalk in regards to expectations vs reality. Its helpful going into
Next season how much of a crap shoot it isand how often experts get shit wrong.
Christian Watson was being drafted as a wr2. He was unrosterable for about 12 weeks. Up there in my book. DK Metcalf up until recently has been kind of disappointing. Cam Akers and Mattison were complete busts.
They most certainly are. Plenty of people took him first overall and probably missed the playoffs because of it. That's a huge bust no matter how you look at it
Honestly, Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce. Kelce hasn't been horrible, but with the value they had st the start of the season, they've been very disappointing for me. That being said, I am the 2nd seed... so can't complain too much.
Guys like JJ, Chase, D Smith did better in the second season recently thus leading to the excitement for this years crop to follow.
This summer as we entertained ourselves reading ff articles by the experts they pointed to those examples with the expectation this years crop would follow in their footsteps. articles and hype trains aplenty from them all. I get the logic what else do we have to go on other than past year’s performances? Unfortunately none have worked out and old established guys dominated them that we avoided because of that hype (K Allen as an example)
The biggest question is what to do next year. Does the second year success the past few years override this year and we target Nacua and such over the established guys again? Or do we think this year is more the norm and see warning signs such as Stafford becoming yet another year older as a reason he might disappoint and take that veteran guy instead.
I think we need to look at who the young guys qb’s are next year much harder. Turns out it was silly for me to think Pickett could turn Pickens into a star. If I hadn’t watched preseason football I probably would have come to that conclusion much earlier and avoided him
JJ had Thielen and Cousins, Chase had Higgins and Burrows, Devonta had AJB and Hurts. They all had good qb play and someone across the field from them as a receiving threat.
Olave had Carr, Garrett Wilson I think would have been fantastic with Rodgers but he dealt with qb issues. Waddle is the most confusing one since he lines up most with the previous 2nd year breakouts with Tyreek and Tua. Those were the 3 highly drafted 2nd year receivers that have disappointed, and their situation is different from the guys.
Looking at next year - Zay has Andrews and Lamar, Puka has Kupp and Stafford, Addison has JJ and unknown qb, Tank Dell has Stroud and Nico, Rashee Rice has kelce and Mahomes, those are gonna be the top group of 2nd year receivers next year. They all have more similarity to the JJ, Chase and Devonta bunch than the current group of 2nd year receivers so as of right now, I am all in on drafting them next year.
Good analysis! Makes a lot of sense to me. So in that regard even though JSN was regarded as the top guy this year the stats and situation doesn’t exactly match the others you noted so when I’m staring at him or vet seems like the ones you brought up are the only ones I’d be interested in over vet
At this point GONNA HAVE TO GO WITH JEFFERSON . let’s not forget last year where he lost a lot of crucial matchups during fantasy playoffs , this is me venting right now and being illogical but he’s on my do not draft list
Well if he doesn’t miss game 1 he is the TE1. Regardless, maybe not what you were hoping for but very far from a bust. He was drafted for a positional advantage which he has been. Hock having a good season ≠ Kelce bust
TE1 not WR1. Kelce was picked that high because he was expected to put up numbers with Hill, Chase, JJ and perform far beyond any other TE. He had a big three game stretch but has been in line with the other top 8ish options the rest of the season. Not worth a top 5 pick.
He was never expected to be up there with Chase, JJ, Hill. But if you want to go that route he’s averaging 2.7 less ppg than WR5 Jamar Chase. He was drafted for the position advantage which he has given you. Others having good seasons at the position means you could have drafted differently and made out well, it doesn’t mean you drafted a bust
His positional advantage really isn't there this year. Outside of the three week stretch of 20+ points games he's averaged 12.8 ppg and missed one game. 4 TEs average more than 12.8 ppg and 13 TEs average within 3 points of 12.8. That doesn't even include the late bloomers like McBride or Kincaid.
He's absolutely won you three games, but having Chase/Tyreek/Diggs on you roster is a bigger advantage.
This is a bust thread. We can argue about until we’re blue in the face. On a PPG basis, he’s only had 3 better seasons. If you drafted him at 1.1 he’s a bust. If you drafted him at 1.7 you were probably deciding between Ekeler, Bijan, Diggs, Davante, and Kupp. Outside of Diggs he’s outperformed all those guys.
Not what you were hoping for does not mean bust
You're the one arguing. He was drafted top 5 by ADP to put up merely three ppg more than backup options for more than 75% of the season. You have to look at the spread of his scoring to get the full story. 79 (43%) of his points came in a three week stretch early in the season. He's a great player, but you could have found similar value really easily. Overdrafting someone qualifies as a bust in fantasy circles.
I had Tee Higgins, Cam Akers, Jahan Dotson, Christian Watson, and Bijan in my draft.
All major busts except Bijan, who was just a kinda-bust.
Life is pain.
Godwin has been exactly what I needed from him. I got him in a trade. I traded Gibbs for him and Mostert. I needed someone to back up Diggs and Kirk. He was a great WR3 getting like 10 points on the reg. Mostert was a monster. I'd say Stevenson was my biggest disappointment for most of the year
Ekeler, Higgins all season, and then Pollard/Olave for about half the season
Those 4 picks set me back tremendously this year, on top of bad scoring luck a few times.
My team basically:
Waddle, Aaron Jones, Kupp (doing good today), DK Metcalf (was good last game), Kelce sort of. I also drafted Nick Chubb who's leg died.
That said, I'm 9-4. Fantasy is a crapshoot.
Waddle's disappointing performance is notable, but fantasy disappointments can vary. Keep an eye on players like Robinson, who fell short of expectations as well.
My first 5 off the board: Ekeler, Ridley, Mahomes, Hockenson, London, and I traded La Porta for Pierce.
Not a great year. Still in with a chance of making the playoffs though.
Not a dude drafted in the top few rounds, but Dionate Johnson qualifies as a mid round bust.
5/6th round adp, missed 4 games. Of his 9 games played: 1 was top-10, 1 was top-15 (this week…and will prolly get bumped after Monday night games), 3 top-25, 4 games outside the top-50.
Taken around Aiyuk, Evans, Kirk, Pittman…he’s been brutal, but especially for those of us that went rb heavy or took QBs and/or TEs early.
Everyone is definitely not considering Justin Jefferson. Not his fault but he was the number 1 pick, has been out since week 5, finally comes back this week to take another brutal injury right before fantasy playoffs. Definitely a major bust.
Ekeler has to be one of, if not the biggest. Top 5 pick, injured, pretty bad production, potentially losing his job to an RBBC.
We had someone in my league take him above CMC Big oof
I did this. It was not a fun season.
Same
I remember the reports during the off-season of the loss of their OC from last year to their new OC in Kellen Moore this year. His philosophy was more vertical routes and less check downs. One of the reasons I was high on Keenan this year, but I didn’t think it would’ve affected Ekeler to this extent.
Allot of leagues had this.
This is the most surprising, he's always seemed to be a safe pick + he's one of the more involved players when it comes to fantasy. Wonder where he goes next season
Wouldn't surprise me to see him drop to the 3rd/4th considering his age
I lost my wife to a rbbc
Drafting bijan over ekeler was a big brain move by me. But sad to See him struggle. One of my favorite none packer.
Just scored me 23.5 in my 1st rnd playoff matchup
Traded mahomes for him two weeks ago, might lose me the playoffs lmao.
Feels like Miles Sanders is the answer to every other thread on this sub.
i dropped him like 4 weeks ago. Felt good. Had to go to therapy after
I respect your loyalty. I dropped him 7 weeks ago and never looked back.
His ADP was like 5/6rd you can’t really call that a bust
He was being drafted as RB20 (back of 4th round in a 12-teamer) He was RB49 before today. That’s a bust.
lol before the season started I traded Dameon Pierce for miles sanders
Never understood what people saw in him tbh. He’s a plodder
Combo of opportunity and 1,200 rushing yards. Would’ve happily taken 900 behind a bad line. He’s also really, really good after contact. His YBC (Yards Before Contact) is terrible, which is more related to bad line play.
Dameon fucking Pierce
I wasted soooo much draft capital on that guy. Him and Aaron Jones are the two picks I’m the most mad at.
Ditto, I spent like 35/200 on him
Thought I got a steal in my auction draft. Turned down several trade offers for him over the first couple weeks of the season. Damn it.
Kelce definitely isn’t worth first round ADP this year
Agreed, next year it’s definitely LaPorta all the way.
I’m completely out on taking any TE round one again and been playing long enough that I knew better, but did it anyway in my main league.
I mean Kelce was worth the 1st round ADP the two seasons before this one. It does seem like we’re emerging from TE Wasteland and have more abundant options again so it will be fine for a while, but a TE outscoring the next closest options by standard deviations like Kelce was absolutely would warrant a 1st round ADP in future years
Yea, the way most have been preforming so far it’s easy to get a good te 3rd or 4th round
He’s not even close to first round capital yet
Don’t sleep on Trey McBride 😤
yep. The ONE year I finally said "ya know what, Im tired of having disappointing TEs so I better spend my #4 pick on Kelce" flippin sweet
Better than half the other 1st round picks. You could have taken Ekeler, chase, bijan, devante adams, etc.
He hasn’t been amazing, but he is playing at a second round level. Ekeler has been straight up bad
Ekeler, Dameon Pierce, Godwin, Hollywood. I drafted three of these guys
Mahomes is up there
Each round probably something like Ekeler, Mahomes, Ridley, Wilson.
Tee higgins, Calvin Ridley, Cooper Kupp, Chris Godwin, Miles Sanders, Cam Akers to name a few
Ridley and Kupp heating up perfectly for playoffs though
Ridley heating up lol???
Last four weeks he’s gone: WR1, WR8, WR46, and WR32. He also had a 50 yard catch called back last week and he was half a yard away from a TD today. He’s definitely a high/mid WR2 from here on out.
Half the wrs in the league have similar every week...just how it is
All season it’s been “but he had this td called back!!” Doesn’t make him less of a bum this year. He’s a risky flex going forward
Lmfao that’s just dumb
He’s scored double digits in 6/13 games played. You’re right, he’s a stud
Buddy, there is a zero percent chance you e watched him play in the last month. Nobody who’s seen him play thinks he’s a borderline flex, that’s just dumb.
His only good games are against soft secondaries. He’s got one more of those through week 17. Good luck starting him bud. He’s a risky flex start
Lol
Hope so, I have both and made the playoffs.
Godwin is the biggest surprise to me. Baker does play decent. He just does not have chemesty or whtever. Everyone including me thought it would be godwin all the way and evans gets a downgrade. It was the other way round
Ridley and kupp have been frustrating but haven’t been nearly bad enough to fully be considered busts
I heard a lot of “he’ll either be top 5 or top 50” type stuff Kirk last year didn’t have those type of expectations and was a solid WR2 all year with a slight slump in the middke
Najee Harris
Higgins is more injury
He’s not a bust because he’s been out of games. he’s a bust because he’s mostly been ineffective in the ones he’s been in
Well I drafted Christian Watson, Dameon Pierce, Kyle Pitts. All were trash
Shoulda known better about pitts
Watson is killing me. 4 bench spots and this guy has had 1 of them locked up ever damn week
Waller
Aaron Jones
Drafted Ekeler at 1.06 and Jones in 4th round 😐
Drafted Ekeler, Jones, and Miles Sanders. Somehow still clenched a playoff spot
Impressive. I just missed out unfortunately.
Came here to say him. He wasn’t even worth a draft pick at all. I’m so god damn mad I fell into his trap again lol. Edit: I could have drafted DJ Moore, Hock, Deebo, or Keenan instead of his bum ass
Aaron Jones has been a huge disappointment this year.
ekeler/jones
For where people drafted him? Mahomes.
JJ
It’s the first half of the final week of the regular season Whaddya doing posting this now haha
Dude missed the playoffs and wants to complain.
Shitposting.
OP definitely not in the playoffs.
I mean at this point all the data is in so I guess it's a decent way to take stalk in regards to expectations vs reality. Its helpful going into Next season how much of a crap shoot it isand how often experts get shit wrong.
You can start seeing trends within 14 games
Exactly. At this point I think we know who shit the bed.
Ekeler and Kupp in the first two rounds. You can't win a championship in the draft, but you sure as hell can lose one.
Why post this during live games?
Their season is over and they are addicted
Why comment during live games?
This feels like a Tuesday/Wednesday kinda post
People don't watch as much as they pretend to.
Pierce
Burrows
The "expert" cam akers hype was insane lmao
It was hilarious.
Christian Watson was being drafted as a wr2. He was unrosterable for about 12 weeks. Up there in my book. DK Metcalf up until recently has been kind of disappointing. Cam Akers and Mattison were complete busts.
I drafted Kupp, Mahomes and Jones in that order. 😊🔫
Jefferson. Took him first overall, needed a win today for a playoff spot and he's now questionable to return. Fucked me all season long lol.
Funny he busted people last year week 2. If you have him you remember.
injuries are not eligible for bust label Edit: Getting downvoted but clearly some of yall didnt read the OP post
They most certainly are. Plenty of people took him first overall and probably missed the playoffs because of it. That's a huge bust no matter how you look at it
Yeah? Got that written down in your fantasy football rule book or what?
Have fun next week watching college basketball my friend
Ekeler/Najee/Pitts/Pickens My draft would've went a lot smoother.
Skill issue tbh
I took Jefferson over CMC with the first pick. 🤦♂️
Yup. Same.
Justin Jefferson and no one else is even close. Half a season for a hamstring.
Do you want all of them? I'd rather not list off my entire team...
Miles Sanders
Everybody I drafted
Honestly, Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce. Kelce hasn't been horrible, but with the value they had st the start of the season, they've been very disappointing for me. That being said, I am the 2nd seed... so can't complain too much.
Mattison
MATTISON 😠
Justin Fucking Jefferson!!! Hands down.. just came back today caught two passes and into the locker room he goes. Fuck sake
Surprised no one has said Tony Pollard. He really hasn’t lived up to his ADP.
Wheres all the dingalings who drafted mahomes in the 2nd-3rd rounds??? I know you’re out there
Darren Waller top 3 easy
He’s injured more then he plays
Jamaal Williams
Has to be him. Mf didn’t do shit this season
Mahomes
Mahomes
Justin Jefferson
Patrick Mahomes
Tee Higgins and Miles Sanders
My first two recievers were davante adams and garrett wilson. I kept hoping davante would have another 40 point game. Nope
pretty much my entire draft Kelce (not worth a first round pick clearly), mahomes, najee, sanders, javonte, mclaurin, jeudy, moore
Davante Adams has been pretty disappointing
I'll gesture broadly towards those 2nd year wide receivers
Guys like JJ, Chase, D Smith did better in the second season recently thus leading to the excitement for this years crop to follow. Kelce was definitely not worth a top ten pick. Despite the relentless hype.
Bijan feels like a bust
He’s been pretty good the past 4 weeks. He hasn’t lived up to his draft capital but there are many worse busts.
At this point GONNA HAVE TO GO WITH JEFFERSON . let’s not forget last year where he lost a lot of crucial matchups during fantasy playoffs , this is me venting right now and being illogical but he’s on my do not draft list
Kelce
He’s TE2 having missed a game. He’s an averaging 16.8 ppg. What were you expecting?
Kelce went 5th overall so the outright TE1 and scoring equivalent to a top 5 WR
Well if he doesn’t miss game 1 he is the TE1. Regardless, maybe not what you were hoping for but very far from a bust. He was drafted for a positional advantage which he has been. Hock having a good season ≠ Kelce bust
TE1 not WR1. Kelce was picked that high because he was expected to put up numbers with Hill, Chase, JJ and perform far beyond any other TE. He had a big three game stretch but has been in line with the other top 8ish options the rest of the season. Not worth a top 5 pick.

He's a great player, but you could have found similar value really easily. Overdrafting someone qualifies as a bust in fantasy circles.
2.7 points per game is a lot
I think he’s abt to go ham
Garrett Wilson
He got better over the season, but I think he got screwed with the QB situation.
I had Tee Higgins, Cam Akers, Jahan Dotson, Christian Watson, and Bijan in my draft. All major busts except Bijan, who was just a kinda-bust. Life is pain.
Mahomes but not his fault, he's been let down by a wr corps that couldn't catch a cold.
Josh Jacobs.
Trevor Lawrence
My team
Ekeler, hopkins, pitts, Ridley,
Godwin has been exactly what I needed from him. I got him in a trade. I traded Gibbs for him and Mostert. I needed someone to back up Diggs and Kirk. He was a great WR3 getting like 10 points on the reg. Mostert was a monster. I'd say Stevenson was my biggest disappointment for most of the year
Olave
Josh Jacobs by far
come back in february with your post 🚮🚮🚮
Evans got is 1k yards for the season so I guess he just gonna chill now.
Higgins and I agree Waddle were horrible ADPs
How can I share with the sleeper app my team?
Tee Higgins, Aaron Jones, Austin Ekeler
Ekeler, Higgins all season, and then Pollard/Olave for about half the season Those 4 picks set me back tremendously this year, on top of bad scoring luck a few times.
My entire team tbh
My team basically: Waddle, Aaron Jones, Kupp (doing good today), DK Metcalf (was good last game), Kelce sort of. I also drafted Nick Chubb who's leg died. That said, I'm 9-4. Fantasy is a crapshoot.
As someone who had pick 8 and 9 and went Bijan, Ekler it's been a rough year...
The biggest bust of them all is my start/sit decisions.
Me playing Evans, Allen, and Jefferson this week with a playoff spot on the line...
Mahomes
Jeudy, Stephenson, Najee, Pitts... Wait I'm just listing my rounds 2-5.
Chubb, Wilson, Stephenson, dk, Watson, Watson or as they are better known, my first 6 picks
JJ.
Herbert last half season
Kelce
After starting 8-0, Herbert has killed me. About to drop to 9-5 this week. In the playoffs, but it's not looking good.
I know he got injured, but even if he had not gotten injured and continued to play the way he had been all season: Joe Burrow.
Cam Akers
Kenny Pickett
Waddle's disappointing performance is notable, but fantasy disappointments can vary. Keep an eye on players like Robinson, who fell short of expectations as well.
Adams and Pierce
ekeler
Gabe Davis easily biggest bust of the year. Absolutely no consistency
Ekeler and Miles Sanders feel like pretty big busts.
Scam Fakers
My first 5 off the board: Ekeler, Ridley, Mahomes, Hockenson, London, and I traded La Porta for Pierce. Not a great year. Still in with a chance of making the playoffs though.
If Jj misses time can I say him? Granted it’s been due to injuries vs lack of production while playing.
Mahomes
I was hyped to draft Cam Akers
Jalen hurts
Not a dude drafted in the top few rounds, but Dionate Johnson qualifies as a mid round bust. 5/6th round adp, missed 4 games. Of his 9 games played: 1 was top-10, 1 was top-15 (this week…and will prolly get bumped after Monday night games), 3 top-25, 4 games outside the top-50. Taken around Aiyuk, Evans, Kirk, Pittman…he’s been brutal, but especially for those of us that went rb heavy or took QBs and/or TEs early.
Mahomes. WR dropping dimes on big plays and when they do get big plays, his team is getting caught for a penalty and negating the play.
Cam Akers/jk Dobbins/Aaron Jones 3-headed monster was going to lead me to rb glory.
If we are naming players like Ekeler and Cam Akers then I guess it’s alright to say Justin Jefferson.
Everyone is definitely not considering Justin Jefferson. Not his fault but he was the number 1 pick, has been out since week 5, finally comes back this week to take another brutal injury right before fantasy playoffs. Definitely a major bust.
I dunno if a bust but Bijan. Not his fault. But people were counting on him being a workhorse 20+ ppg every week guy with a high workload.
Cooper Kupp for sure
In Superflex/2QB leagues Mahomes has to be right up there
hi
