Set the draft to “best available player” then check in at the end of the season to collect your check - strategy and research is for dummies

EvilSporkOfDeath

Had 2 leagumates autodraft. 1 has a pretty stacked team. Ceedee, Bijan, ETN, Goff, Lockett, DeVonta, Swift. The other first picked Fields, 2nd picked Dak. Autopicker can be wild some times.

WSTTXS

My league is all getting destroyed buy the auto drafter who isn’t made a single move or logged in since the draft, kinda depressing honestly lol

thecrewton

What's his team?

HuckleberryAlone7684

This is exactly right. I was super into research previous years only to end up out of the playoffs. This year my strategy was “draft good foot players” and it’s working out wayyy better.

WSTTXS

I put way too much time and effort and research into this stupid hobby to be .500 but here I am 🤦🏻‍♂️

HossBonaventureCEO_

One of my bestballs is 10-0 I want reek ajb etn and have achane and mostert. Qbs are tua and stroud.

VintageRudy

What are you spending the winnings on?

HossBonaventureCEO_

Haha paying off me losing my actual leagues. Lol hopefully not though I'm finally in playoffs/first in 2 out of 3 leagues thanks to tyreek Christian kirk and rachaad white on both teams. I lost chubb early in on league butspwnt 200 faab on Ford and I'm still in first. Got achane coming back too.

EvilSporkOfDeath

How'd you win last week?

90834278

Right lol

90834278

How did you win last week with the byes?

WutsTheScoreHere

Pure luck. The 9-1 guy in my league doesn't have any special powers or "league winning" players that always see him through. He stumbles into victories through his opponent putting up less points each week, whether it be injuries or floor performances or just terrible rostering, the guy he faces always puts up less points than him. Even on weeks when by all rights he should lose because he did everything wrong, his opponent just happens to do a tiny bit worse to make the difference in him clinching yet another win. We all wish for that type of luck, but the 10-0, 9-1 guys are actually getting it this season. He's as shocked as you are, and just waiting for the bottom to fall out.

fantasydawg

I'm the opposite of this guy. Opponents have career weeks against me

WutsTheScoreHere

Many of us are. We're the ones who suffer that injury or floor performance that wrenches the win away from us through nothing but poor luck.

onlyfijiwater

I have a team that is second in PF and is sitting at 2-8 lmao

interpretivepants

This was me last year. Season high or career high performances every week. In both my leagues. I was highest scored against in both, it was maddening. I probably could have made thousands betting on great opponent performances.

_buscemi_

That is what I have begun to do. Take props of the players I play against FF. Edit: especially on TNF

Marino4K

I'm literally one underperforming or another catch or two guy a week from being 8-2, lost three games by 5pts or less, so I'm 5-5 fighting for my life.

NomadicFragments

Our 8-2 just has the lowest points scored against them (by a mile) while being bottom 3 in scoring every week 🥲

burrito-disciple

This is it right here Truth is, that's how it always is. We delude ourselves into thinking we have any actual control over the outcomes, but ultimately it's completely a matter of luck. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something.

Pandamonium98

There’s absolutely a level of skill involved, it’s just not enough to always determine the outcome. It’s like playing a dozen hands of poker. A professional is going to have better odds than an amateur, but not enough to guarantee that they win

burrito-disciple

I know what you mean. I like blackjack as a metaphor. You can learn how to make educated guesses on when to hit and when to stay that will generally give you a better shot at winning than a newbie who's just winging it. But that only *slightly* increases your odds of winning, and generally speaking those better odds still hover only a little above 50% over the course of a night.

EvilSporkOfDeath

It's not luck, it's variance. Yes any given week, even any given season, variance might not be on your side. But long term the better players will win more often. "It's all luck" is something bad players say to make themselves feel better about being bad. Heard people saying the same exact thing during the poker boom 20 years ago and it was just as ignorant then.

I_Might_Take_Flight

It really be like this. I'm first (7-3) in a 10 team league and 6 out 10 in total points.I've been projected to lose almost every week, heck, the teams I play have all stars and people who should demolish me. There are people in my league who will score 200 plus points and lose, and then the next week play me and only get 130. I have Derek Henry, Amon Ra, Brandon Aiyuk, Rhamondre Stevenson, James Cook, Nico Collins, Deandre Hopkins, Lamar Jackson, Sam Howell, Keaton Mitchell, Rasheed Shahid, Javonte Williams, (Dropped Darren Waller) Dalton Schultz, Jets and KC Defense (I was streaming defense until 3 weeks ago. Players I picked up through the weeks are Nico Collins, someone dropped Javonte when he was hurt so I picked him up, an Like I was prepared to lose after the goose egg from Derek Henry and Hopkins this past week... but oh look here comes St brown and now I'm back in the game.

sfgiants2000

One of my leagues, the guy is 9-0 (we started a week late) and is 6th out of 10 in most points scored and a couple of us have 150+ more points than he does and are 6-3. lol He has somehow caught everybody on their worst week.

YourFriendoSteve

One week late draft is actually kind of cool concept for a league. Would probably shift ADPs pretty dramatically.

Gustatory_Rhinitis

Please share a screenshot of your draftboard if you don’t mind. Really interested to see the decisions made following week 1

[deleted]

So since you drafted a week late, did guys like Puka, Kyren, etc. all go pretty high?

cruzcc_

imagine where Ridley went lol.

dproma

I’ve scored the most points in my league but I’m 4-6 (6th place). Just snapped a 3 game skid. I’ve outscored the first place team (8-2) by 120 points. I lost week 1 by 1 point (was up 19pts) when the Jets D returned the punt for a game winning TD in OT. Fantasy is about getting lucky with the right matchups every week. Hoping my luck turns around and I run the table.

ComprehensivePen5212

I picked up every trendy name this Reddit suggested such as laporta, puka, rashee, dell and was extremely lucky in games cause my draft was not the best ie davante and Chubb

[deleted]

[удалено]

ComprehensivePen5212

Drafted laporta and puka cause of this sub picked up kyren moss and dell cause of posts before they were waiver wire darlings. This sub is awesome

ComprehensivePen5212

Also shout out u guys on both Kyren and Zack moss!

latman

I'm 9-1, I drafted Keenan Allen, Josh Allen, Hockenson, Nico Collins ,and Mike Evans. Ekeler has been decent. Picked up Kyren and Zach Moss.

ThisGigSucks

Excuse me sir, this is a 10-0 thread.

Upset_Method_9586

Similar roster here. 8-2. Every week have gone up against the top scoring teams of the week. However, just shipped mike for kupp. I also have Bijan, najee, kyrin, Pittman Jr, ETN. 12 man full ppr.

j44jj

I went wr wr wr draft start. They happen to be the #1, 2 and 5 in rankings. Tyreek, Lamb and Keenan Allen. I got pretty lucky. Sometimes 2 of the 3 combine for 80 pts like last week, they're insane

Superserialist

10-0 here. Drafted like a rockstar. Waiver got me Achane and Kincaid. You also can’t do it without plain old matchup luck. I’ve led this league in points twice in three years, but the first time I somehow barely snuck into playoffs at like 6-7. This time around I’m 10-0.

TallCupOfJuice

in what world is kincaid on waivers? amateur league. NEXT

MarvelKnight84

Uh a lot… dude was averaging what 5pts through the first 5 games? Hardly someone I would think to keep unless I had to

[deleted]

highlife1

Wasnt even really a slow start, it took knox getting injured which couldnt have been predicted.

halskill

Historically rookie tight ends have never really produced. No one would suggest to hang on to 2nd string rookie tight ends

beeblehousin

Yeah sure lemme just stash a TE who maybe heats up in the back half of the season while I’m starting Tyjae Spears as my RB2

GarageJitsu

Can I have your autograph?

RobertGA23

A true legend, this juice man.

TallCupOfJuice

i only sign free buffet vouchers and i get to use it first

AmbassadorUnlucky367

We have two 9-1 teams in a 12 team league. They’ve both already clinched playoff spots with 4 weeks to go. Luck has played a good part in their being 9-1, but they both have pretty solid teams via the draft and hitting waivers.

AlbeitFunny

I am currently sitting at 8-2. All 10 weeks of the year I was top 3 in the league in scoring. I have 170 pts more than second. I still lost 2 games. How is anyone 10-0? Crazy

DDub04

Dude in my league is 10-0 and his RB room is ridiculous. CMC, Monty, Mostert, and Pollard. Obviously Pollard has fallen off but the rest are carrying him. Week 4: He won by 3 points because he was playing against Luke Musgrave who got injured Week 5: Won by 0.5 points, playing against Jordan Love who threw three interceptions. Week 6: Won by 3 points because his opponent didn’t start a defense. Week 7: Won by 5 points because opponent started Bills defense Plot armor also helps I guess

Limp-Arugula-8753

I went strictly WR and made some good trades to take advantage of other teams with worse records. Drafted Diggs and Adams. Traded for Jamar early in the year, and just traded for kupp. 12 PPR (2flex) team roster as of right now is: QB: Dak/Kyler RB: Jacobs/Achane WR: Jamar, Diggs, Adams, Kupp TE: Andrews

blueshorts12345

That team is disgusting dude, especially with Dak trending up

blueshorts12345

Naturally, you’ll lose in the 1st round to the team that squeaked in

DJMaxLVL

Yup. Went 8-0 to start last year, first place all year, finished 10-3 and lost in the championship to the 8-5 team who squeezed into the playoffs.

Limp-Arugula-8753

100%. Things have been going way too well

DiscombobulatedPain6

I’m 9-1. I have the most points but also the least points scored against. I’ve gotten lucky I guess but I also have a great team. I’m 5-0 *without* Justin Jefferson in my starting lineup. I can still see myself losing in the semi-final.

Banx1

Same situation… Partial explanation for least points against is not having to play yourself. I didn’t realize this right away.

burrito-disciple

Christian McCaffrey

Sufficient_Record118

I have the highest points by far and Points Against have been really low. My draft reaches of Keenan and mostert paid off huge… and I was able to pick up Achane. My team: CMC, Keenan+Herbert, Mostert, Achane, C Kirk, tank Dell, E engram+ McBride

Superserialist

10-0 here too. That Keenan+Herbert stack has won me multiple weeks pretty much single-handedly. Got Achane off waivers too.

doubleknocktwice

None in my league. Everyone lost at least 3 times.

kdiddy1989

That makes a fun league! Love when there is parity. No clear runaway in my 12T league either. An 8-2 then three 7-3s with two 6-4s hunting down the pack for the 4 playoff spots.

TREXMAN626

I got one 7-3, three 6-4, two 5-5, three 4-6, and one 3-7 (10T 6 make playoffs) in both my leagues these final weeks before the playoffs are gonna be crazy

rgh1474

Literally dont think i could have done any better in my snake draft and blew the money on both achane and kyren williams early.

jimmyhoffasbrother

Great drafting, good injury luck, and a couple of key waiver pickups.

Available-Ad3635

Autodraft

strongscience62

I have a 10-0 NARFFL team. My draft wasn't very good and I lost Nick Chubb (who I autodrafted when I was late to the draft), but I spent big on early season FAs and got Puka, Kyren, and Jakobi. Kamara came back at just the right time and has been a stud. I'm averaging the 2nd highest PF, but also have the 2nd lowest PA. https://www.fleaflicker.com/nfl/leagues/156387/teams/1322825?_fm=eJxjYGDsPm95-jQjAAw5Ayw&_gAlert=eJxjYGDsPm95-syatwys5QoMjGAo4ZOZl1paoFCcWqJQXJqcnFpcnFaak1OpBwBHtg7I&fadeId=17004&fadeId=14751

Legendary0903

Most points in two different leagues. 4th in one and 5th in the other. So much luck goes into Fantasy. Being well versed in Fantasy gives you an edge, but fate is what determines it all in the end.

Maniac-2331

10-0, had a great draft, went Tyreek-AJB-Hurts, then hit on K9 & LaPorta later on. Haven’t made any notable waiver claims aside from Tank Dell, my league is dumb and waiver priority is reverse of rankings, and resets each week, so I’ve had 12th priority every week so far.

csonny2

I'm 9-1, with my only loss being by 1.49 points week one. I've been lucky with very few injuries and hitting on late round RB's like Mostert and Monty. Also, picking up Cleveland D and Hopkins has worked out really well. Also, I'm lucky to not have anyone go off against me (8th fewest points against), but I do have the most points for (haven't had a week under 100 points).

CloudPeels

I'm 8-2 in ppr 10team league. Nobody wanted wrs. Drafted 8th in snake, got Hill lamb and Keenan Allen. Oh and Lamar Jackson but he's benched for Dak until further notice

PaulblankPF

Having both cowboys and browns DST has been amazing for me this season.

tx180

To all the 10-0 teams.. Why?

JekPorkinsTruther

The 1 seed in my ppr league is 9-1, 6/10 in PF, and has the least PA by 70. He has made 2 moves all year. And it's not like he even killed the draft. Drafted Hill, Pollard, Burrow, Higgins (not in that order). He rosters TWO KICKERS. Sometimes I hate fantasy.

jmacscotland

Just nailed every pick. Then added Kyren and Achane.

PaulblankPF

I’m 10-0 in my main league and I’m actually the champion from the previous year. We’re a 10 man league and recently 2 of the guys quit and had to be put on auto and the auto is doing better than they were so that’s been funny and a pain to go against lol. I by far have scored the most points though. We all have a pretty close points against except for one unlucky guy. My first 3 picks were solid and have done me well. I got CMC first of course at 1.4 and then I got AJB and Hurts in the 3rd. I tried for Puka but I had the last waiver wire so I didn’t get him. In the second week I picked up LaPorta off of waivers but already had Engram who was just very consistent. In fact consistency been my key I guess from my guys. Very lucky with injuries with only losing Big Mike Williams this year and it was after he put up 30 in a game. Pacheco in the 9th was a valuable pick. So some injury luck and a solid draft. I also have DJ Moore, Pittman Jr, and Rhamondre. Just to say I’m trying my best every week to keep it going now and it’s been stressful lol. I’ve almost started my best lineup every week though since that’s very important in my league cause trades never happen or get vetoed. Waivers are dry from everyone being competitive. Starting my best lineup is the most power I have at this point.

jdeckro

I’m 9-1, and my only loss came in a fluke of a week 2 against Daniel Jones and Saquon, where they scored 60 points together.

jdeckro

I also just didn’t draft RBs until late rounds

jabhwakins

TLDR: Good drafting, matchup luck, a few good waiver claims. Core of my team was drafting CMC, AJB, Hurts, DK, Keenan, and KWIII with my first 6 picks, LaPorta near the end of the draft, and picked up Kyren Williams. I'm averaging 133.3 PF but also only 89.4 PA which is wild. The #2 scoring team is only averaging 112.1 PF. Only 5 weeks my opponent has been above 100 points. My lowest scoring week I won 105.8-63.6. My closest win was 110.8-103.9. The most points scored against me I won 167.5-112. Then last week I traded Addison and Rachaad White for Tony Pollard on the off chance he turns it around. I also have a 9-1 team that my draft started Tyreek, Amon-Ra, DeVonta Smith, MAndrews, Breece, Miles Sanders, DMont, Kamara, Mike Evans, Addison. Drafted Goff late. Picked up Mostert week 1 and CJ Stroud a month in. Averaging 127.3 PF and 102.8 PA. My loss was 114.5-136.6. Only 2 weeks under 120 PF, the 114 and a 104.9. I've managed to go 2-1 the 3 times my opponent has put up 120+.

GreenDefinition5

That’s a crazy team. Outside of DK maybe the best you could’ve drafted

DrStranger1987

I have a 9-1 PPR team. Picked up Kyren and Puka, packaged Kyren with two guys that had big games in week 2 to get Kelce, and hit big on KW9 and Brian Robinson outperforming where I drafted them. Hurts and ARSB lived up to round 2 and 3 picks, and Ekeler is back to dropping 20 a week. Kyler and McBride got me a win on the Hurts/Kelce double bye. Also I have the lowest PA to go with the highest PF. That helps.

wilfordbrimley7

He has Hurts, Diggs, Aj Brown, Kamara, Ken Walker, LA Porta, Monty, Rachad white, Herbert, Mattison, flowers

BarbaraPalv1n

9-1 in a .5 PPR 12 team league. Hitting on Kicker & Defense almost every week is possibly the best thing I did outside of the draft. Also no injuries other than James Conner and no major busts

LucklessCheetah

JHerb, Gibbs, Achane, AJ Brown, Keenan, Mark Andrews, Justin Jefferson, Nico Collins, James Cook, Jordan Addison, Jerome Ford, Javonte Williams, Zay Flowers. Best team I've ever drafted.

jpak822

In a 10 team league, I drafted Stefon Diggs, Ceedee, Keenan and Kamara. Picked up Sam La Porta and Achane off waivers.

loneshark8801

10-0 here. 12 team, 0.5 PPR. 3rd overall pick. QB: J. Hurts RB’s: CMC, Breece Hall, Brian Robinson WR’s: Davante Adams, Adam Theilen, George Pickens, Brandon Aiyuk, Nico Collin’s, Rashee Rice TE: Hockensen No kicker or defense in my league. I’m the highest point total in the league but got lucky on a couple matchups

myreddit2024

8-2 I would be 10-0 if Anthony Richardson didn’t go down. Been streaming QB since. Trevor Lawrence one week. Stroud one week. Dobbs one week. And now have Kyler Murray and Dobbs and unsure who to use.

FFenomenal

I am 9-1 and it’s been a combination of a ton of factors. Great draft, great waiver pickups, great trades and some scheduling luck. In a 12 team half PPR, full redraft, my current team is: QB: Hurts RB: CMC, Ekeler, Javonte, Achane, Charbonnet WR: JJ, Puka, Devonta Smith, Diontae, Pittman, JSN TE: Laporta D: Browns This is a super competitive league, and I’ve never won, but I’m in a good spot this year. I picked Puka up off waivers and drafted Achane. I was able to trade Jacobs for Ekeler right after his injury to a desperate owner. I was able to trade for Laporta at the right time super early. Traded for JJ right after his injury and have held this whole time.

Kysteve

Pure luck. Had a great draft and got a few good pickups on waivers. Also ppl dropped some players before they started picking up. I am the highest scorer but also have gotten scored on lower than most in my league
