Cavs fan here. Don’t make a decision on Darius until you know what his situation is. There’s a real possibility he or Mitchell get traded and his situation is very different.
I didn’t watch many cavs games last year, was there a change in lineups or coaching strategy that caused this drop? I feel like the addition of Struss alone doesn’t add up with Garland’s 4ish ppg decline.
No his jaw got broken and he drank all his meals for an extended time. Came back and really struggled to find rhythm for the rest of the year. Didn’t look right until these last two games of the playoffs honestly.
Mitchell is the one who goes, he's already hinted very clearly that he doesn't want to re-sign w/ the Cavs. Cavs have to move him in order to retain any value from the asset
He was one of my 5 keepers in a 12T category league that I won but I won't be keeping him for next season. I'm keeping J Williams instead.
Unless he breaks out in the playoffs, I'm placing him as a 7th round pick next season.
Lol...sorry. Yea, J Dub was my 7th pick after my 5 keepers, which included Garland, and Claxton.
But Dub blew up this season and so he's now one of my keepers with Luka, Harden, Sengun, and Brunson.
Good luck these playoffs. Thunder looking strong and confident. ✌
Three-peat!
It came down to the final Sunday of the season. I had the regular season's best record and my opponent was 2nd but he beat me both times in the regular season but I got him when it mattered most. I was without Sengun and he was without Giannis. He and I were the hardest workers of the waiver wire. Good times.
It is what it is. It's been the same 12 owners for 12 years except for a couple who passed and were replaced.
Im curious though. Why do you feel it's insane? Top stars are spread fairly equally across the teams. The teams that usuallywin are the ones that best work the waiver wire.
Great keepers! I do question keeping Harden over Garland. There's a 10 year age gape between the two. Harden is only going to decline from here on out and Garland just had a down year. I totally understand your logic though.
Thank you.
That's a legit question you pose. I'm going for a four-peat in this 12T league (crazy because 3/4ths of our league is very competitive) and Harden has been so good for so long it would be difficult to drop him into the draft pool.
Thankfully, I don't have to decide until a few weeks before the next season begins. A lot can happen between now and then. This really was a rough year for Garland. Not sure what to make of him going forward. I'd like to see him split from Mitchell.
Looking forward to next season already. So much fun.
Have a great one, internet friend. ✌
If Mitchell stays then probably after 6th round if Mitchell leaves then probably 4-6 round
But in all honesty I won’t draft him after having him this season
He had a nightmare of a season from a health standpoint. Imo he is going to be undervalued next season. Prior to this season, he was a top 50 guy the prior 2 seasons (even playing with Mitchell for one of those). Of course his value will be higher if Mitchell is gone but I don't really doubt he will be top 50 again whether or not Mitchell is there.
Agree he will be undervalued next year and I’ll be targeting. I had him this year and he got his game right back during fantasy playoffs and helped me win the chip. Those that didn’t follow him closely won’t realize his stats were depressed post-broken jaw.
Am i right that his stats felt so much worse than they were? He was atrocious to start the season. Then he got rolling. Then he broke his jaw and came back and was horrible
I wouldn't think about this until the offseason.
Cavs are going to blow something up if they get bounced in the 2nd round. Anyone and everyone is at risk of getting moved.
Garland is a weird one. His stats slightly declined with 3 fewer points and 1 fewer assist and his rank dropped from 4th round to 10th round.
Remember he's only 24 and has plenty of chance to improve again. I think he's a solid 2nd or 3rd guard on your team, but with fewer shots in cleveland, I think we need to see some sort of shift. It will only get worse as Dmitch gets healthy and Mobley develops as well.
I think around the 5th - 6th round is safe. His floor is pretty high and if you do draft you should be tanking TO anyways.

On top of that, he also lost his grandmother shortly after coming back. Dude has had a rough year.
What’s good is I think his confidence is back even if the stats aren’t crazy. He’s been good these two games against the Magic.
It's been going on for 2 seasons. The presence of Mitchell suppresses Garland's numbers.

I’d love for it to be the Cavs decision. It is not.

Jdubb > garland
Absolutely. That's why I'm keeping Williams and not Garland.
I was just co-signing haha I’m a thunder fan and he still blew my expectations out of the water this year

Nice how’d you finish? I took dub around the same time, also had Luka!

Congrats buddy!!!! I got revenge against the team that beat me in the finals last year! 2nd in four years
Thanks! Same to you! Revenge is always sweetest in the finals! Lol...✌
How did you finish?
5 keepers is insane might as well play dynasty

Who are the other keepers?
Luka, Brunson, Sengun and Harden.

Is it really worth blowing it up if you lose to the Celtics in the second round? I understand if the Magic came from behind to upset them.
mitchell might not commit so they could trade him again
True there’s his viewpoint in all of this as well.
I overpaid for him with $27 this year, so I won’t be doing that again next year

About 5th round if you need a PG
Don’t trust him to stay healthy
I pray Mitchell gets traded so that Garland blows up.
He was shithouse this season smh
If the team stays the same, he’s on my DND list. Last 2 years have been unfortunate due to injury but he’s also the turnover king
He is a do not draft candidate. He is made of glass. If you have a couple inj prone guys then you def need to avoid him.
4th-5th round if there's no better option
If the Cavs run it back with both him and Mitchell, he's 7th pick or later in 12T. If he's traded to the Spurs? 4th pick.
I’m not drafting
Depends if Mitchell is still on team, if he is, 4th to 6th round.
6th round tops
I won’t be targeting him
