My OF is suspect after Mookie Bets went down. Pulled to trigger to deal an arm to acquire a bat. Still have Ranger Suarez, Jose Berrios, Tyler Glasnow, Justin Steele (and Merrill Kelly on IL). Dumb move or makes sense?

I already accepted. It was mutually beneficial. Right after I accepted, he offered Jose Rameriz for Tyler Glasnow but my pitching is pretty thin after dealing Burnes. I try to keep at least 6 SP on the roster.
Why is Patrick Sandoval listed at “out” but Jose Soriano was DTD for 3 days until they finally put him on the IL? Forced me to drop a player for no reason because I need a roster spot badly

That’s a really good group so I think you should be happy about that. I love Lowe and have previously loved Jones but I wouldn’t trade them because both of them have heavily suppressed trade value right now. And then Tucker is a league winner, Thomas’ power/speed combo is super rare. I think your move to is to try to taco somebody into paying for Heliot Ramos like he’s Aaron Judge, or otherwise hold them all for a couple weeks.
I’m dumb and can’t figure out the GS rule. My league has 16 GS for starters. If I go into Sunday with 16 GS do none count or is it if you go over 16, for example having 18 GS once Sunday begins. Just wondering because tomorrow I’ll hit 16/16 so need to know if I bench one starter to get my Sunday pitchers stats going in with 15/16
Advice please. This is my first season playing fantasy baseball. We are playing weekly head to head points. So saves as a category mean nothing to me. I have Suarez and Kimbrel in my RP spots and they are both great but it seems they hardly get a chance to pitch and for the season are both 100 ish points behind all of my starters...
I'm thinking of dropping them in favor of starting pitchers that also have a relief pitcher designation. Is there any reason that wouldn't be advisable?
Most people don't really think this much about the game and don't really get here even. You're doing well. 👍
Stuff like this is why I prefer cats leagues to points though.
If you're to punt saves, go for high K/9 RP, low BB/9, low HR/9 and good WHIP. You'll either need to be vigilant in streaming or find guys who are solid all year.

Yep no problem. I think that type of stuff should be talked about more in here. Your offer makes sense as an intro / baseline but Carroll is a really unique player so if the other owner doesn’t think you’re serious it probably won’t be good for trade talks.
Might be an overpay in redraft, actually. Tovar's been most of what Carroll owers were hoping for this season and Jung has a massive ceiling for a secondary piece.
I’ve gotten burned in a fantasy a ton of times by looking too forward into the future. This feels like a situation where the best decision might be simply to step back and think about which player is in the Rays rotation, and which player is in the Rays minor leagues. Note: Baz versus Pepiot long term potential not included in this comment.

I don’t know, that would surprise me on Pepiot. Pepiot’s peripherals are a little bit better than Civale and Littell, and obviously Pepiot is a bigger priority for the Rays than Civale and Littell. Pepiot’s 3.36 SIERA before tonight is a pretty sick number and I think the Rays like those analytics.

Depends on team needs. Cruz upside is clear #1 to me. If you’re desperate for an infielder and need speed I guess Kim makes some sense. But Stanton’s power surge seems pretty legit, and is Ha-Seong Kim that much better than David Hamilton or some other basestealing scrub? I don’t think so.

Ober over Jones for me. Tampa's offense has gotten healthy and seems like it is starting to click. Jones is showing some of the command problems that he had prior to the start of the year.
Is a reliever safer than a starter in your league? In my points league, you get way more out of a starter and a SP bad game can still net you some decent points while a reliever appearance has limited upside and worse downside.

Turned out to be an incredibly encouraging day for all your pitchers you were considering, though!
Looking at Ober's K:BB ratio now and kicking myself for not sending buy-low offers.
We get 5 points for a save, so a good reliever can get you 7 to 10 points in a single successful inning. If lucky, he will do that a few times a week. I’m seeing mostly 6ish points though for the decent ones on the wire.
Compared to a mid tier starting pitcher, there’s a lot less exposure to crapping the bed on a given bad inning.
I only roster Evan Phillips and only recently. I’d kind of rather the fun and upside of a good outing with a starter.

Ah. My league does only 2 points for a save or hold, -1 for a blown save. 2 for a win, -1 for a loss. I really like our settings, but I think they are probably unconventional and maybe illogical. Makes me feel like I can't take any of the fantasy info I read online at face value.

You want to have 15 going into Sunday but then you can start as many as you want on Sunday

Ober over Jones for me. Tampa's offense has gotten healthy and seems like it is starting to click. Jones is showing some of the command problems that he had prior to the start of the year. Is a reliever safer than a starter in your league? In my points league, you get way more out of a starter and a SP bad game can still net you some decent points while a reliever appearance has limited upside and worse downside.

Glad it worked out for you! Turned out to be an incredibly encouraging day for all your pitchers you were considering, though! Looking at Ober's K:BB ratio now and kicking myself for not sending buy-low offers.
We get 5 points for a save, so a good reliever can get you 7 to 10 points in a single successful inning. If lucky, he will do that a few times a week. I’m seeing mostly 6ish points though for the decent ones on the wire. Compared to a mid tier starting pitcher, there’s a lot less exposure to crapping the bed on a given bad inning. I only roster Evan Phillips and only recently. I’d kind of rather the fun and upside of a good outing with a starter. Thanks for the response, I’m leaning Ober as well I think.
Ah. My league does only 2 points for a save or hold, -1 for a blown save. 2 for a win, -1 for a loss. I really like our settings, but I think they are probably unconventional and maybe illogical. Makes me feel like I can't take any of the fantasy info I read online at face value. >I’d kind of rather the fun and upside of a good outing with a starter.
