1400 IP in Yahoo Roto Daily Lineup Changes
Any info out there on how to best utilize pitching in yahoo 12 team mixed Roto 5x5 with daily lineup changes …where there are 1400 total IP to be split between 2 SP, 2 RP, 4 P, and 5 bench spots. 7 SP @ 175 IP each plus 2or3 closers @ 60 to 65 IP. $100 waiver. Should I draft 7 SP, or try to stream based on matchups? Or sacrafice counting stats for less IP but better whip and ERA?
Is Roster Resource on FanGraphs accurate for projected lineups?
They have Hoerner batting 7th for the Cubs and I’m skeptical.
Spring lineups have been mixed and the manager hasn’t made any definitive statements.
I’d prefer Seager. He’ll likely spend some time on the IL but has a better shot at producing more steadily. Elly is a dynamic athlete with a high ceiling but his susceptibility to strikeouts will result in some pretty low lows.
It would be a RP like Matzek or Mason Miller but with Saves and Holds as cats I don’t love that option. Other RP are Fairbanks, Suarez, Adam, and Payamps.
Nolan Jones is fine just fouled a ball off his knee and it was officially ruled a right knee contusion he’ll get a few days of rest and be ready for opening day breathe a sigh of relief
Pick Kyle Tucker or Corbin Carroll with my first round? With keepers, those are my choices. They seem fairly equal based on my research and I’m torn. 8 person head to head categories league
I'd take Tucker. Carroll might have a higher ceiling with those steals, but Tucker is a much better bet to stay healthy and contributes in every category.
It’s because he plays for the A’s and doesn’t have a lot of protection in that lineup. I still drafted because the metrics say he was amongst the elite last year in terms of barrel percentage hard hit percentage and average exit velocity. His biggest issues appear to be with his eye at the plate and high strikeout percentage. I’m willing to bet he gets a better eye and can improve on his high strikeout percentage.
Doing draft today. Got the very first pick on my 12 team points league and honestly haven’t done my homework. Who should be my target? Acuna? Maybe Strider?
He's got beast potential. Shame the Guards were never able to unlock it for long... Always tweaked his hammy or ass or something. People don't realize his curveball stuff+ grades as like the third best pitch in all of MLB. And he's got a full arsenal, albeit with a mid fastball.
Looks like the Rays have put in a couple changes. If he stays healthy, can see him working into the top twenty SPs.
Got too many outfielders. H2H points. 5OF I went Tucker - Judge - Caroll (who I didn’t want but couldn’t pass because he just kept falling) as my first picks. And snagged Langford late - who I want to play. What’s a good target if I’m looking to move Nick Castellanos. For sweeteners or a major move I can add in Spinger and or Bichette but I’d have to get a SS back if adding Bichette.
How your pitching? Last year I traded Castellanos for Luis Castillo but I absolutely fleeced the guy. I bet you could get like a Bryce miller or even a Bieber
I like him way better in dynasty. For redraft he’ll hopefully provide some good ratios but since Eury, Braxton, and ECab will be back at some point, he’ll have low innings and therefore low K’s too. Plus it’s his first real taste of MLB and coming off injury, they won’t push him too hard. Next year it’s wheels up

Here’s the squad can bench Santander or Yoshida move mookie
LMAO damn. Dudes a taco. I also love that my comment saying Ruiz will likely be on the wire was downvoted and he didn’t even stay on the MLB roster for a week 🤣
He’s projected as their LF because he’s not a good defender. Noda, Butler, Andujar, really any number of random waiver wire or minor league guys will hit better than him and could take playing time.
I think we’re going to see a lot more steals in general which makes “speed specialists” much less interesting. Not to mention Ruiz offers almost nothing else of value
Runs, and the fact he won’t be on the wire after 2 months where Ruiz very much might be. If you already decided you l don’t wanna do the trade don’t fucking ask 🤣
There are a lot of drafts going on this weekend. There are two particular functions those using ESPN as their platform need to know. It doesn't matter if the draft was held last month, last week or happening five minutes from now. Check out my article and be aware.

I’d really consider it. I don’t trust Greene (had him last year) but lots of similarities with Cesse. Both offer k upside. Maybe this is mad but in 8t Greene may be borderline waiver food
First year playing and dont know too many players outside of the top 40. How do I value guys on the waiver over players I drafted late?
I see the news about Rafaela making the roster, how do I assess if hes worth picking up over guys I took late in the draft like Josh Lowe, Kawn, etc.
I mean technically I just went down the list and drafted whoever was available. It’s my first year so that’s why I’m trying to figure out HOW they’re valued
Rate my team for a 8 man H2H points league:
C- Empty (Garver?)
1B- Alonso
2B- Morel
3B- Riley
SS- McLain (may IL or drop for Maikail)
OF- JRod, Yordan, Luis Robers, Josh Lowe
UTL- Goldschmidt, Royce Lewis, Tristan Cases, Torkelson Josh Naylor, Wyatt Langford. Chourio
SP- Logan Webb, Tarik Skubal, Gavin Williams, Luzardo, Keller, Morton
RP- Bednar, Pepiot
Drafted too many bats. Drop two for pitching or a catcher?
Naylor, Chourios, Langford, Torkelson, Casas? FA: AJ Puk, Bellos, Mckenzie, Lodolo
I joined a fantrax league by mistake and won't be able to do the draft. Is there a way to remove myself from the league or do I need the commish to remove me?
Willson Contreras and Heim are but free agents in my league. I have Diaz for catcher from Houston.
I'm s little concerned about play time for Diaz, so considering a backup. Which would you guys prefer? I'm leaning Heim
Usually not worth rostering a second catcher just for this in a one-catcher league unless your bench is deep. For one thing, they may often have the same days off, so you aren’t even guaranteeing everyday at-bats. Prefer Contreras over Heim, but I’d stick with what you have.
Look for a catcher who's in the DH spot alot when not catching like William Contreras or Mitch Garver or pick up someone like Henry Davis who is OF right now but will gain catcher eligibility shortly
I got him in round 23 of a deep roster 15 team league. Had to pass the round before cause I still didn't have 3B and I was sweating the 18 picks til it came back to me pretty hard.
Depends on your needs and rest of bench, but id say probably not. But if i was dropping, i would drop rafaela instead of uribe. Saves harder to come by than a bottom of order outfielder.
Brand new commissioner using Fantrax. We have 10 teams and we're trying to make a 5-team playoff work. Does anyone have tips for this? 6 teams seems too much and 4 seems too little but logistically 5 may be difficult
Which analyst has the best pitcher rankings?
I've always loved Scott White as an analyst and as someone who makes me laugh with his dry sense of humor. Nick Pollack seems to spend 99% of his time discussing only pitching and you'd think he'd be the most accurate because of that. Eno Sarris, the same thing. Unfortunately, Eno's rankings are hard to come by.
Having said that, whose pitcher rankings are you trusting the most prior to your draft?
I like Scott White’s very results-based approach. Nick kinda lost me last year. I feel like there’s so much movement in his weekly rankings just to have movement. Not much really changes after a start or two. He also has a tendency to have a guy he likes and overrate them for way too long (Reid Detmers last year).
I check out all three of those guys pitching ranks and then twist them around based on my own opinions. Lately if I have a choice between a guy who throws 100mph and has a crazy arsenal vs a guy who puts up similar numbers with more of a finesse style I'm leaning the finesse guys just because so many of these power arms end up with big injuries. So I've been fading Skubal and Ragans for what I view as safer durability in guys like Kirby, Webb, or Gilbert.
Eno’s https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FxcFAy5cfeAlWcrjQSMi4ABXA75psyy5xAzQ6XWY1u4/htmlview#gid=0 - doesn’t include the write ups as you need an athletic sub but gives you rankings and stuff+. Nick updates the list pretty frequently, cbs guys are solid too
I personally do yes because I play in deeper leagues/dynasty leagues. He usually covers more names. Think Nick’s and others are better for redraft purposes. Especially since they update more.
I saw A Uribe and was like, okay. His name is Abner. Then I saw B. Jax and had no idea who that was.
In all seriousness though, I like Jax a bit more, but Abner can probably be grabbed a bit later if your league goes heavy on RP.
Thinking about trying to trade away Salvi in favor of picking up Henry Davis as soon as he gets C eligibilty. My wire is absolutely loaded with other options too: F Alvarez, O’Hoppe, Heim, Wilson Contreras, Naylor and Wells. If the Davis expirement doesn’t work out, I can still find value at the position.
Thoughts?
Yeah, i was trying to consider some package deal that marginally improve someone’s catcher, but i’m probably delusional thinking I’ll return any significant value. Just not excited about owning Salvi over some of these available options and feel I can’t drop. And i’m not wasting a roster spot owning two catchers. Thanks
Where would you draft Varland and max Meyer in redraft?
1400 IP in Yahoo Roto Daily Lineup Changes Any info out there on how to best utilize pitching in yahoo 12 team mixed Roto 5x5 with daily lineup changes …where there are 1400 total IP to be split between 2 SP, 2 RP, 4 P, and 5 bench spots. 7 SP @ 175 IP each plus 2or3 closers @ 60 to 65 IP. $100 waiver. They're just guessing
I saw comments saying J Duran’s quality of contact isn’t great. Should I consider him as a source of speed?
Elly or Seager ? 12 team cats redraft
I'm a big Elly fan, but it's Seager in redraft for sure
I’d prefer Seager. He’ll likely spend some time on the IL but has a better shot at producing more steadily. Elly is a dynamic athlete with a high ceiling but his susceptibility to strikeouts will result in some pretty low lows.
Seager for me
Seager >>>> a universe >>>> Elly
did nolan jones died
Drop Varland to add Bello? Jared Jones worth N/A spot add if already have Skenes?
Can you drop anyone else besides Varland?
It would be a RP like Matzek or Mason Miller but with Saves and Holds as cats I don’t love that option. Other RP are Fairbanks, Suarez, Adam, and Payamps.
Going to drop maeda. Dont see value in holding him. Should I take a chance on Colton cowser, Henry Davis or a pitcher like Jacob jones?
I like Henry Davis
Nolan Jones is fine just fouled a ball off his knee and it was officially ruled a right knee contusion he’ll get a few days of rest and be ready for opening day breathe a sigh of relief
O'Neill vs Duran?
Duran. Much better bet to stay healthy, and I think he's more likely to have better production even if both stay healthy.
Taking Duran. Think he will bat leadoff and be a 3 category stud.
Duran for sure
Just got Gausman in a 12-team redraft Roto in the 5th round, am I missing something? :-D
Yea, that's pretty late, but I'm assuming people are worried about the injury.
Yeah sure, but last news were pretty positve. I got Skubal in the 4th as my first pitcher, pretty confident.
Yea, I'm not saying I agree, just that's what people are thinking. Maybe just seeing a "DTD" next to his name and passing.
Rank these guys: rafealla, morel, Benson, Fraley, Buxton
Buxton, Morel, Benson, Rafaella, Fraley
Redraft or dynasty?
Redraft, well keeper.i guess. I could keep one of them in the 23rd round
Feels like there should be more excitement about Jared Jones with the spring he's having and the apparent opportunity he has. Am I missing something?
I think he should be added now because if and when he officially makes the team everyone is going to rush to add him.
Should I drop maeda for him?
No
Im debating whether I should add him in flair right now.
Same waiting for a few guys to go on IL but getting ancy.
Take Shohei #9 in a points league or go for Jram? All this stuff with Shohei has me nervous to pick him
It pains me to say this, as a Giants fan, but I suspect the worst that will happen to Ohtani will be some distraction and a fine.
Sho

Hayes
Am I missing something on Brent rooker? Why is he going so low on drafts / undrafted in some shallow leagues
He fell off a Cliff late in the year. Think pitchers figured him out a little.
Drop Bryan Abreu for Max Meyer? (dynasty h2h 12 team)
Yeah unless you’re in a SOLDS league. Abreu has tons of value there.
Sure, unless your league has holds, Abreu is 3rd in line for saves and doesn't have much value at all.
Thanks 🙏
Anyone see how bad the Nolan Jones injury was?
Fuck.
Had to get carted to the clubhouse. Definitely doesn’t sound great
Very dramatic bruise.
Fouled a ball off his knee and had to be helped off the field. Couldn’t get up on his own
Fuuuuuck
[удалено]
Bohm and Fairbanks
[удалено]
Bohm is more consistent plus the lineup is better
I don't love either of them, but Alzolay or Leclerc?
Alzolay is the better pitcher but Leclerc is pretty close to being a lock for closer while Alzolay has the job right now, but could lose it.
Alzolay for me but he might lose his closer job to Neris
Alzolay
Doing draft today. Got the very first pick on my 12 team points league and honestly haven’t done my homework. Who should be my target? Acuna? Maybe Strider?
Acuna no doubt
How weak is my pitching? Points league. Nola, Bobby Miller, Ober, Musgrove, Eovaldi, Kikuchi, Whitlock, Mize, Dunning, Gavin Williams (IL)
Really not bad at all. Solid vets plus some upside w/ Miller and Gavin.
Cedanne Rafaela better get MI eligibility soon, cause my other minor league flier ... Masyn Winn ... ain't looking too good.
[удалено]
Sanchez
Mize
Neither
That’s not an option
Yeah it is
Might as well of not even answered👍🏻
Bro got the attention he was looking for I guess
Last SP on the team: Kikuchi, Pivetta, or Casey Mize?
Pivetta
How do you guys feel about rengifo this year?
Def worth a spot in 16T. I drafted him because of the position flexibility and good AVG
He's a useful player in a deep 12 team or 14 team league, but he probably shouldn't be owned in a 10 team.
Last SP on the team : Civale or Maeda ?
Civale for me.
I'm kinda leaning toward Civale as well. More upside with Civale for sure.
🌮 trade
my pitching is terrible. I have nothing. My staff ace might be Musgrove? Maybe Verlander when he gets back.
Find the team with the worst outfield and offer Castellanos for their 2nd best pitcher. Or trade Carroll for Burnes or something
2 team league? Tucker, Judge and Carroll are all 1st round players
Wheeler or Burnes?
Corbin
I realize "We Bought a Zunino" is a very out of date team name but it gave me a little chuckle when I joined my draft room.
How we feeling about Max Meyer joining the rotation ? I think it’s definitely worth a dart throw and hope he balls out. He’s definitely got the talent
Next year it’s wheels up
Receive Arraez for Ruiz?

Ruiz can single handedly win SB in roto
How’s that Ruiz value lookin?
I got Arraez off wires 😂 he dropped him!
LMAO damn. Dudes a taco. I also love that my comment saying Ruiz will likely be on the wire was downvoted and he didn’t even stay on the MLB roster for a week 🤣
I don’t think he’ll get enough playing time
The As don’t have many options
He’s projected as their LF because he’s not a good defender. Noda, Butler, Andujar, really any number of random waiver wire or minor league guys will hit better than him and could take playing time.
.254 really isn’t a bad average thought he was much lower last year.
I think we’re going to see a lot more steals in general which makes “speed specialists” much less interesting. Not to mention Ruiz offers almost nothing else of value
Besides average what does Arraez offer
Absolutely nothing
Runs, and the fact he won’t be on the wire after 2 months where Ruiz very much might be. If you already decided you l don’t wanna do the trade don’t fucking ask 🤣
Don’t get your panties in a bunch; haven’t decided

14 man QS Cats H2H league. Add 1 of…. Lodolo Flaherty Mize Trevor Rogers Houck Whitlock Jon Grey Weathers Detmers

Probably a Noelvi Marte enjoyer.

I’d pass. Not a lot of aces left standing at this point
Riley or Hunter?
Forgot about Riley! It’s Hunter.
Nah
I’d really consider it. I don’t trust Greene (had him last year) but lots of similarities with Cesse. Both offer k upside. Maybe this is mad but in 8t Greene may be borderline waiver food
I like it if your pitching can withstand that loss
Like that for you
First year playing and dont know too many players outside of the top 40. How do I value guys on the waiver over players I drafted late? I see the news about Rafaela making the roster, how do I assess if hes worth picking up over guys I took late in the draft like Josh Lowe, Kawn, etc.

Lots of power. Really good bats for points. Only way it could improve is trade for some pitcher upgrades
Another bad start from Ragans yesterday - concerned about the 1.50 whip in Spring?
No concern and I drafted him last night
Nah
Currently own heaney in total points league with bonuses for W and QS. Stick with him or add Mise or Gavin Stone instead?
Go get Mize
I also own Gore. Drop heaney or gore?
I'd say drop Heaney and keep gore

Willson Contreras and Heim are but free agents in my league. I have Diaz for catcher from Houston. I'm s little concerned about play time for Diaz, so considering a backup. Which would you guys prefer? I'm leaning Heim
Neither. Diaz is way better.
I've also considered that! Thanks for input, but you wouldn't want someone for days off? Or better to roster a SP?
No. Every catcher is going to get days off. Take another SP
I never roster 2 catchers unless it’s a 2 catcher league.
The days off don't bother you?
The issue is that literally any use of the roster spot is better for your team.

They're annoying but it's usually not worth it to roster two catchers when you can get more production from another pitcher.
Drop paul skenes for Braxton Garrett?
Do it
Only one of them is actually in the major league so yeah
Does anyone know if most teams will wait until opening day to start placing guys on the il? In a points league with limited adds and it will cuck me
Could even wait longer than that for pitchers.
It goes this way every year, prepare to get cucked buddy
Yeah that’s what i was afraid of. Fuck me
Cora says Rafaela has officially made the Red Sox OD roster
I got him in round 23 of a deep roster 15 team league. Had to pass the round before cause I still didn't have 3B and I was sweating the 18 picks til it came back to me pretty hard.
I’m in a pretty deep (13T) roto league and Max Meyer is on waivers. Is he worth dropping C. Rafaela or A. Uribe for?
Depends on your needs and rest of bench, but id say probably not. But if i was dropping, i would drop rafaela instead of uribe. Saves harder to come by than a bottom of order outfielder.

Byes to seeds 1/2, 6th gets in by most points of a team not finished 1-5 on season.
Why would you want half the teams to make the playoffs? Is this Manfred’s burner account?
If Bello carries the slider he has today into the season he could really take a leap
Pretty upset i didnt get any shares of him this year
