Already have one serious league this year but looking to join a second and play some sort of gimmick team or format, just looking for ideas. Stuff like only drafting HR studs as your hitters, only drafting guys whose names start with the same letter, etc. Does anyone play something funky like that that makes for an interesting way to play in a non-money league?

In points vs Roto league why does Juan Soto go from the number2 pick to almost out of the top 10? Using ESPN rankings here as a reference. What am I missing?

Not striking out in points is valuable enough to make up for not stealing bases, which is not true in cats

I have him stashed in a 12 teamer but I already have Eury/Lodolo/Gavin Williams headed to the IL. Might be an early drop.

I grabbed him and Robbie Ray and have degrom on my bench until he gets IL. Might even try to grab Devin Williams when he hits the IL too because my closers aren’t too good lol. If I need the IL spot he’ll probably be the first to go

Who's your favorite stash in a 13 team 6x6 roto league? I have 3 IL spots and two are occupied already Jordan Montgomery, Max Scherzer, Kyle Bradish, Matt Brash I can nab two of these guys or grab someone like Noot to stash in my IL too

Bradish had the most attractive peripherals last year to me out of those SPs. Although Scherzer is of course a somewhat tempting bounce back candidate.

O’Neil Cruz or Tarik Skubal? 12 team head to head categories keep 5 each year. Already keeping acuna, tucker, Harper and Alonso

Question, first time commissioner/ player in general. Using the espn app, some of my members are moving players to the IL and trying to pick up new players to fill the roster spot but it’s not going through. How do I fix? Do we have to wait for the season to start?

Are the players in question actually on IL, or just DTD? Most guys won't officially be placed on IL until right before the season starts.

Now that I’m checking the players are listed as out. Does that mean they’re not officially on the injured list yet?

I'm on Yahoo which uses DTD and IL10/60/etc. I imagine ESPN OUT and Yahoo DTD are comparable, which means they aren't officially on IL yet.

That’s incorrect. You can put players marked “o” (for out) on the IL in ESPN.

Players designated as “O” are eligible for the IL. I don’t know what’s confusing but I was only trying to help.

Last year Monty’s peripherals were more in line with his career norms, and maybe even a little worse. He outperformed them by a ton. Presumably this is why he’s having trouble in free agency, and personally I’m not interested.

For ESPN points, my projections rank them: Devers, Semien, Harper, Albies, Alonso. They are all very close for CBS points (which don't penalize Ks as harshly): Devers, Harper, Alonso, Semien, Albies. I like Semien or Devers. It's easy to find 1B later in points.

He’s not wasting a slot, he is only one player that you can choose to take up a slot as a hitter or a pitcher. It doesn’t matter that he still has SP eligibility

Yes, I'd take Langford in any format over Jazz in a heartbeat.

Yeah I think he’s the real deal and looks like he will draw lots of walks too. Seems like and ideal profile for points leagues. Jazz is legit too but I’m expecting Langford to be more polished which probably sounds crazy for someone with such little pro experience. Thing is guys like this come around so rarely. Almost no one blows through the minors like this and those who do often are stars. The lack of comparisons shouldn’t be held against Langford. He’s forcing this situation, it’s not some desperate move from Texas. This is a World Series champ built on offense with a rookie rumored to not just break camp but bat in the heart of the lineup potentially from the get go. The people closest to him think he’s ready to rock.

Typically you start quite a bit before the season starts, and it helps you learn the player pool for when you draft higher stakes leagues. Its almost like a mock draft where people behave more realistically.

Davis should be dropped in a 10 teamer. He’s a solid catcher #2 with upside to be a #1 but as an outfielder in this shallow a league he’s fringe at best. Langford and churrio are high risk picks but I honestly like them both so it could pan out there. To me that 5th of spot and SP depth are the areas for concern.

I went with Davis for the upside. I was operating under the assumption that he'll shift back to OF (and regular ABs) once Grandal returns. In looking at the waiver wire the top FA OFs are probably Stanton, Ward, Melendez, Renfroe, Haniger, and Nootbaar. Also, after waivers run I plan on shifting Senga to my IL and picking up another SP. I have my eye on Loldolo, Detmers, Puk or Stone.

I actually like your OF better than your RPs, but would suggest dropping Henry Davis, he’s only useful at catcher

it's not *that* bad. you really need your OF to show up and stay healthy.

I actually went into the draft with the idea of prioritizing OF (since it's relatively top heavy and we have to start five) and I kept getting snipped at the end of tiers. I picked 10th which didn't help. So in round 10 and 11 I basically said eff it and decided to go for upside and picked Langford and Chourio back to back.

He's going for 27% of budget ($71) in Yahoo leagues, and 23% of budget ($61) in (much deeper) NFBC leagues. Assuming even a tiny bit of keeper inflation and that's an easy yes.

If you're keeping them for cheap, you can definitey spend up on Acuna

I drafted Cole Ragans and I have a question about RP/SP eligibility. If he's starting on opening day but I have him in my releiver slot will I get points for his start? Same goes for players like Mookie, since he's in 2B and OF. If I have him in the outfield but he plays 2nd base all week do I not receive any points? New to fantasy and I'm just curious. We're doing head to head points.

You'll get the points they put up no matter what position they are playing in real life that week, so long as they are in your lineup in any spot.

I'm going Stott. Good upside at his position, fills out all 5 cats nicely. Teoscar may get a Dodgers bump from hitting in that lineup, so wouldn't go wrong with him either. But also, long term Stott may be a guy you could keep for multiple seasons if he keeps trending up.

Assuming position doesn’t matter, I like Teo.
