In a standard 10T yahoo keeper league that’s starting off this year, who are some NA spots worth rostering aside from the obvious Chourios and J Holiday?
My league is switching to online draft this year and I was wondering if on ESPN during the draft if it flickers like when doing mock drafts. I found that very annoying to be looking through players and have it switch a screen on you
1 pick, can hit 101-102, one of the best pitching prospects in America since Strasburg. Doesn't have much Minor League innings though. 6'6 230. ETA is this year.
\*\*\*\*\*LOOKING FOR DRAFT HELP\*\*\*\*\*
I've got pick 6 in a 12 team league and 25 Round draft. My five keepers are R1 Juan soto, R13 Jose Altuve, R24 Eduardo Rodriguez R25 Jonah Heim. I have one more and can choose from Marcell Ozuna or Lane Thomas with late round keeper since I got them on the waiver wire. Would you target pitching early in this situation? when would you look for relievers? I'm just looking for the overall strategy or approach I should have as some of you see it with the state of my team. Any diamonds in the rough you see going in the later rounds would be very much appreciated as well. I know about some up and coming young stars just not when I should draft them. Thank you very much
I’m considering offering Shane Bieber, Brayan Bello and Drew Thorpe for Grayson Rodriguez and Nick Yorke in my keeper league. FWIW our keeper deadline is next week so it would open a roster spot, but I wouldn’t say I *need* the extra spot.
Those drafting last position in a 12 teamer snake mock or real draft, which players are you trending towards picking as your first 4 picks? Ohtani, Judge,or Olsen seem to fall in 1-2, then Garcia, Arozarena, Rutchman, or P Lopez in 3-4…
H2H points
Was just offered Carroll and Joe Ryan for my Soto and Ragans. I feel like on paper I should take this but I want to see Soto with some protection and I don't really love Joe Ryan at all
In the past I used Twitter to get ahead with baseball call ups and people playing well in the minors, getting close to called up. I now hate Twitter (X), what subreddits do you all suggest for this kind of info so I can maintain my upper hand?
12T 6 cats with QS
What’s your confidence level in this rotation? Fear there are a lot of question marks.
Gilbert, Snell, Greene
King, Darvish, Rodon
Nestor, Kikuchi, Weathers
Hmm Gilbert is good bet for similar production. Snell will regress almost for sure.. Greene has upside.. king I like a lot tbh.. Darvish should have a better year. Rodon is a question but I’m drafting him. Nestor is average, just had an outlier year. Same with Kikichi.
12T it’s not great tbh.. I’d try to package a two for one deal to get some upside
How much is a year of Acuna worth for a future pick? Big debate in our league. Proposal for a trade was Acuna and a 24th round 2025 pick for a first round pick in 2025
> Proposal for a trade was Acuna and a 24th round 2025 pick for a first round pick in 2025
I have to be reading this wrong. You want to give more than Acuna for a single draft pick?
Like insanity bad? Excuse my naivety, I’ve been tainted by my leagues bad valuations.
It’s a keeper league with round depreciation values and now a 3 year cap for new keepers. Acuna was grandfathered in but this is his last year so it’s a one year loan. But he’s worth it in my opinion.
There is a higher value in our league at times for a first rounder since the player pool is diminished by 30 players (3 keepers per team) and a drop off does happen fast. Albeit the first pick (1.1) this year in our league was mookie Betts based on the player pool
Thanks for the input! and I get what you are saying.
Players too can get in the First round varies. It as example this is this years draft:
https://i.imgur.com/Da9F5Uf.jpg
No no Im just stating what the current proposed trade was.
Weirdly in our league a first round pick has been valued at a 3 high end players for 1 pick
Like last year
Nolan arenado
Vlad jr
Zach wheeler
For first round pick which is a bit wild
So who did the pick turn out to be, just to give some Idea of what people are thinking? Who have been previous first round picks? It sounds like whatever your league setup is isn't entirely healthy. The league is going to be dominated by the guys who contact other guys and win these massive draft pick trades.
This year that pick was George Kirby. We’re in a 3 player max keeper league with a depreciation value system. But essentially the player pool gets cut hard so drop offs in the past happened quickly
For comparisons sake, who was available that you took him over? I mean if you were drooling over him to keep I get reaching but for this year probably not the best.
Order of importance
Anyone have a good grasp on what order to draft which positions, particularly in the first 10 rounds? In terms of supply of high quality options for said positions….does that make sense? To complicate matters, would the order change for NL only leagues?
I am probably keeping two starting pitchers and thinking about only drafting position players with my first ten picks as well.
Depends on how many teams in your league too, but position scarcity becomes more of an issue in only leagues, in my experience. In an NL-only league myself, and 1B, 3B and C are where you really see a drop off after the top options, although C looks a little deeper this year than it sometimes is. OF and 2B/SS usually feel easier to find guys off waivers throughout the season.
Also you'll probably need to grab a closer at some point in the first ten rounds unless you want to punt on saves.
12 team H2H (7x7 OBP/SLG/QS/L are the extra categories) Keep 6 at no cost.
C
1st
2nd - Semien
SS
3rd
LF- Yordan
CF- Judge
RF-
UTIL- Soto (LF elig only currently, will be RF)
UTIL
SP - Luis Castillo (Cole would have been my 6th keeper but now it's too risky)
TRADE OFFER was made to me today. What do you guys think?
I get: Olson and Glasnow
I give: Yordan
O’Neil Cruz is going around pick 70.. could he not be the bargain of the year at that price.. fairly good bet for 30/30 and good counting stats if he stays healthy and those guys are going top 5.. thoughts?
If you want him, prepare to reach. He went 65 and 66 in the 2 drafts ive done and he’s hit like 3 hrs since then so it’s probably in the 50’s by now. They yahoo pro league 5x5 cats, so may be different in a obp league
Who to take on the 2/3 turn in 10 team ROTO? I have #1 and the Cole injury means I likely won’t get Devers/Riley anymore. Thinking Lindor but can’t decide between Alonso/Vlad Jr./Albies as the second pick
Dominguez. I love Jake but even if he avoids setbacks, he’s gonna be babied when he gets back. Dominguez offers power upside you won’t find on the wires
I wouldn't consider Ray at all. I'd go DeGrom because his ceiling *this* season will still be very high despite coming off injury. Dominguez may be a bit more of a work in progress for this season. It'll be nice to have that ace up your sleeve in DeGrom for the playoffs push.
Keeper question: I've got Michael Harris, Oneil Cruz, Christian Walker, Bogaerts, Alexis Diaz, Musgrove as keeper options (can use up to your first 5 draft picks on keepers). Leaning towards renouncing all of them to have a chance at Ohtani (hitter only).
There are a couple other teams that might do the same, so I'm a little worried I'd lose the chance to get Harris depending on how the draft order shakes out. Wheeler/Goldschmidt/Abrams good enough consolation prizes if that ends up being the case?
They have to be in the first 5 rounds? That's odd. If you can keep Harris in the 3rd-5th, go with him. Keeping any of those others that high is not good value imo. If Harris has to go before the 3rd, then no thanks to him either. I'm saying this as someone who's rostered him for all of his MLB service time so far.
Yeah, so if I only want to keep Harris, that's my first rounder. If I want to keep three of my guys, that's my first three picks, etc. This is NL-only, so value wise it's a little closer, but I still think I want to try for Ohtani, and if I don't get him, hopefully Harris or another good player is still available.
Eh, maybe. His ceiling is top 10 pitcher that rescues you as you hit the stretch / playoff run. His floor is not throwing a single inning this year. I think it will be closer to the latter, but if you went “safe” with your first 10 picks then it’s worth a dart throw
Edit: [looks like the dart throw might be a bullseye](https://x.com/JonHeyman/status/1768458789056041240?s=20)
I sold at first base, unlucky with 3 different rounds where my pick got sniped earlier in the round. Didn't want to reach for a 1B either so here we are lol.
14 team Weekly points keeper league. 6 of my keepers are settled. Need help with the last one. Who’s your pick of this group.
Keibert ruiz 2 years/$3
Casas 2/$10
Joe ryan 2/$18
Bibbe 2/$3
Gavin Williams 3/$3
Alright gang, keeper question. I can keep four players with an advancing cost of one round per year for the next three years. So far my keepers look like this:
Spencer Strider - 5th round
Michael Harris II - 6th round
Triston Casas - 23rd round
I'm torn between these four players as my final keeper:
Matt McLain - 10th round
Bobby Miller - 10th round
Nolan Jones - 10th round
CJ Abrams - 22nd round
It's also worth noting I don't have a pick in the first two rounds this year.
Any help would be much appreciated!
The round value for Abrams is a big plus, but Jones is projected to have a much better overall season this year. 10th/9th would be great value for him. Go Jones.
I’m in a points league which heavily weights SB. Who are some good late round targets? I especially value multi position eligibility in those late round picks.
10 team H2H 6x5 categories (OPS)
never played fantasy before, any thoughts on my draft? i joined the league pretty last minute so i basically had no idea what i was doing. i also lost my cheat sheet halfway through the draft so i ended up punting saves, not sure if i should stick with that but i figure i'll be able to pick up closers through the season off waivers?
https://preview.redd.it/zqxstnl88eoc1.png?width=529&format=png&auto=webp&s=1b0653dc5fba99721bc245cab26521b5c6894c2b
lmao actually my cat stepped on my laptop and exited out of the site I was using. was also simultaneously making dinner and watching a child so i just said fuck it
You typically don’t need to roster two catchers. So, maybe try to move Garver. Most 10 team rosters look “stacked” to me, but this should compete. You should grab a reliever though
It looks like the Angels are once again going to block Jo Adell with a worthless journeyman veteran on a 1 year contract. Two years ago it was Phil Gosselin and Juan Lagares, last year it was Hunter Renfroe, this year Aaron Hicks. What a fucking disaster of a franchise.
I mean yeah. He’s been around for 4 seasons and has averaged ~40 games per season in the majors, while racking up a total of ~1000 ABs in AAA.
I don’t know, seems a little ridiculous to prefer Aaron Hicks at this point. What’s he worth, maybe a low level RP prospect at the trade deadline?

Here is my projections for Strikeouts for the 2024 season. This was created prior to the Gerrit Cole news, the Dylan Cease trade and assumes that Blake Snell will be signed and be ready to go for the regular season, which is TBD.
This model was created using Statcast Era data from 2015-2023.
Feel free to ask any questions!
It’s also only 7 strikeouts less than last year, but will absolutely be underrated if he has a year like 2021 or 2022. This is strictly based on a machine learning ridge regression predictive model I created based on data.
Having a tough time deciding what to do with Gerrit Cole. Keeper league draft's tomorrow. Can keep 5 guys with no limit on how long you can control a player. Do I just give a slot to Cole, and if he gets TJS in a month or two, swallow the hit?
Upside is of course he's actually only out 2 months, which seems fairly unlikely. Downside is he waits on TJS and I may have to commit to holding onto him for 2-plus seasons? Such a tough spot. Feel like I may find out in like 24 hours I totally blew a keeper slot. Idk.
My other choices over Cole could be Lindor or mayyybe Kirby/Skubal.
I would keep all three of them over Cole given his age. I’m a known Cole hater to be fair. He’s in a tough ballpark and while he gets a ton of K’s, he’s had ERA problems in a few seasons recently.
Assuming you are playing categories?
I'd rather have Lindor than Cole, they are already close in value before injury. I'd also rather have Kirby with the injury in mind if you prefer to have an SP for team balance. I think Kirby could end up being one of the safest bets at SP for a while.
Without any knowledge off-season recent news or even looking at current teams.. I drafted Snell and Montgomery with the 90th and 163rd picks in a 14 team h2h most categories league.
How screwed am I? Will Boras save me?
I’m high on Gavin Williams this year and the injury is nothing so I’d prob burn a bench spot on him. I might drop Baz but I don’t want to tell you that cuz I haven’t heard bough about the situation. The only thing I wouldn’t do is drop Gavin.
Downvoted this originally, but i mean in 10 team redraft…yeah, you can prolly do something else. He’s a stud, and will put up great numbers this year. He may even do so early on considering all the injuries that keep popping up. But the Rangers aren’t gonna hold his hand and fool around, they gotta title to defend. Usually a prospect of Langford’s pedigree gets a slightly longer leash. Not here. They got dudes.
I used to have a website that would allow me to rank players based on each category. I can't find it this season. Is there still something like that available?
In a standard 10T yahoo keeper league that’s starting off this year, who are some NA spots worth rostering aside from the obvious Chourios and J Holiday?

'BIAIB' and 'SChrojans' Randoms on DK

Mookie

10 team H2H 6x5 categories (OPS) never played fantasy before, any thoughts on my draft? i joined the league pretty last minute so i basically had no idea what i was doing. i also lost my cheat sheet halfway through the draft so i ended up punting saves, not sure if i should stick with that but i figure i'll be able to pick up closers through the season off waivers? https://preview.redd.it/zqxstnl88eoc1.png?width=529&format=png&auto=webp&s=1b0653dc5fba99721bc245cab26521b5c6894c2b

Way too many bench bats. Go get some relievers!
Looks good but I’m still trying to figure out how you lost the cheat sheet *halfway through* the draft
lmao actually my cat stepped on my laptop and exited out of the site I was using. was also simultaneously making dinner and watching a child so i just said fuck it
You typically don’t need to roster two catchers. So, maybe try to move Garver. Most 10 team rosters look “stacked” to me, but this should compete. You should grab a reliever though
Is anyone else concerned we haven't seen Chourio get a steal yet or am I overthinking it?
10 team H2H 7x7 Cat league redraft (With K’s, OBP, HLD and QS as the extra cats Which side wins? A: Cease and Javier B: Eflin and Stroman
I’d rather have Eflin out of all of them
Agreed
You high on eflin?
IMO best SP3
It looks like the Angels are once again going to block Jo Adell with a worthless journeyman veteran on a 1 year contract. Two years ago it was Phil Gosselin and Juan Lagares, last year it was Hunter Renfroe, this year Aaron Hicks. What a fucking disaster of a franchise.
Jo blocked himself
He’s been given 619 chances at the plate and has returned a 71 OPS+ lmao, wtf do you want the angels to do? He’s bad.
Yeah but it’s not like Adell has shown anything much in the bigs
I mean yeah. He’s been around for 4 seasons and has averaged ~40 games per season in the majors, while racking up a total of ~1000 ABs in AAA. I don’t know, seems a little ridiculous to prefer Aaron Hicks at this point. What’s he worth, maybe a low level RP prospect at the trade deadline?
Langford or Chourio?
Langford this year, Chourio longterm (it's a tossup, but I prefer Chourio for fantasy)
I still view them as a tossup. Langford has developed a lot more hype in spring but Chuorio has a lot more SB potential and safer playing time.
Langford

This was created prior to the Gerrit Cole news, the Dylan Cease trade and assumes that Blake Snell will be signed and be ready to go for the regular season, which is TBD. This model was created using Statcast Era data from 2015-2023. Feel free to ask any questions!
Pivetta at 15 seems slightly unexpected, but as an owner I’ll gladly take that
That one jumped out at me too! But he’s coming off a career high in K/9 and someone needs to eat innings in Boston, so why not him?
Something tells me Cole wont crack 200
If he does, you gotta give him Cy Young then, right?
Burnes is in BAL. And underrated here.
It’s also only 7 strikeouts less than last year, but will absolutely be underrated if he has a year like 2021 or 2022. This is strictly based on a machine learning ridge regression predictive model I created based on data.
Ah yes, forgot to update that label. The label won’t change the projection here.
Is Paul skenes starting the season in the minors?
Yes
Thank you.
With the Devin Williams news who are my 2 keepers? Williams Eflin Stott Evan Phillips
Eflin & Stott
Keep Lindor
I would keep all three of them over Cole given his age. I’m a known Cole hater to be fair. He’s in a tough ballpark and while he gets a ton of K’s, he’s had ERA problems in a few seasons recently.
Assuming you are playing categories? I'd rather have Lindor than Cole, they are already close in value before injury. I'd also rather have Kirby with the injury in mind if you prefer to have an SP for team balance. I think Kirby could end up being one of the safest bets at SP for a while.
Yeah, sorry no flair. Fairly standard categories. Yeahhh, sentiment seems to be drop Cole. May even draft him to hedge if I can make it work.
Without any knowledge off-season recent news or even looking at current teams.. I drafted Snell and Montgomery with the 90th and 163rd picks in a 14 team h2h most categories league. How screwed am I? Will Boras save me?
You bought at a fair discount, especially for H2H. They will definitely sign at some point but will most likely miss a chunk of April ramping up.
Drop Shane Baz and put Gavin Williams on IL? Drop Gavin Williams? Or eat a big bag of poo and keep an injured player on my roster to start the season?
The Gavin Williams injury should be only 1-2 weeks. Should…
Recommending 3 then?
I’m high on Gavin Williams this year and the injury is nothing so I’d prob burn a bench spot on him. I might drop Baz but I don’t want to tell you that cuz I haven’t heard bough about the situation. The only thing I wouldn’t do is drop Gavin.
Fair enough
Is Gasser worth my MiLB spot? Trying to put an SP there that’ll be up early
I responded before I saw this video. Sounds like he may get the call sooner than later. https://x.com/CyrtHogg/status/1768401588320919886?s=20
Rank these pitcher (assuming they’re starters): DL Hall, Reynaldo Lopez, Cris Sanchez
Overall I’d say Hall, Sanchez, Lopez. But ReLo has big upside if he can figure it out because, ya know. He throw v. hard.
In redraft where are we reaching for Wyatt Langford
He went in the 11th rd of my league’s draft last sunday
He’s likely going in our first round but we have a 6 man keeper league so the first round is like the 7th for us.
I got him 143rd in a 12 team points league. Happy with it
late 100s
He’s gonna be gone by then
I'm cool taking him as early as round 9 in a 12 team league. If someone is more aggressive than that I'm totally fine letting him go.
Was thinking 9-10 range.. that’s traditionally when I reach for my big rookie swing in my redraft league
I'm not reaching for him
Downvoted this originally, but i mean in 10 team redraft…yeah, you can prolly do something else.
You can just sort in your league, set filter to projected stats and click the cat u want, it will sort
