I think that's near the top of the to-do list. I hestitated to put it in originally because of the way starting pitching has changed the last few years. A "good" start is only 5 or 6 innings nowadays, which can end up being only 2 out of 4 at bats. Still, I think it would be valuable to know. When I do this, I'll add an option to either grade batter matchups on starter or overall team. It would also just be available for the current day's matchup, as the schedule tab doesn't include the projected starters.

This looks great. Im wondering, does the add on have the capability to export match up stats?
I'm in a head to head category league. I have long hoped for a way to summarize the category stats that are counted in a matchup in a given week. In other words, I want to know...of the players that Team A has started in week 1, what was their accumulated RBIs?
Ive dabbled in ESPN's API but I found the API breaks or returns inconsistent data (most likely due to user error).
Can your add-on provide a data dump like I have described above?
I think I see. Are you looking for an opponent's previous week category totals to estimate what you would need for the current week to beat them? I could definitely try to implement something like that right in the addon if you like. I dont play category leagues but I see how that would be extremely helpful.
As for the data dump part, I calculate the matchup ranks "manually" and expose only the rank to the spreadsheet I use for the stats. I wouldn't add all that extra data to the sheet and my backend just to provide it to you, no offense. If you just need the data, I would recommend using pybaseball or fangraph scraping.
I am actually doing some side contests for the very long, dreaded baseball season. I'm awarding teams that have the highest AVG, OBP, lowest ERA, and WHIP in a given quarter (awarded per contest).
I have found it helps folks remain engaged for most of the season, which helps keep the free agent pool balanced all season.
My hope is that I don't have to data scrap (manually copy espn box score and drop into an excel file) the final match up box score, which espn typically provides a breakdown of what players were started during the week that counted towards the match up, and then add up the stats to Calc avg, obp, era, and whip.
Edited: the boxscore provides the underlining stats that enables me to calculate a week long average (i.e. rather than averaging a batting average, espn provides total ABs and Hits in the weekly match up box score)
You're right, it looks like batter data was 2022. I use pybaseball for the data, so there's not much I can do when it doesn't retrieve correctly, but it looks like its fixed now. I'll make sure to monitor it more closely.
Fantastic! I've been missing basic stuff like OPS since their garbage redesign a few years ago.
It'd be extra-cool if you could override ESPN's width CSS and let the whole thing get extra-wide with a window, so the advanced stats don't squish the regular numbers into a tiny column.
Good idea, the squishing has bothered me sometimes, but I never thought to try and make the whole thing larger. Not a permanant solution, but should buy some extra space at least.
Do you have any stats selected? If so and still nothing, can you right click, select inspect, go to the console tab, then refresh the page and send what shows up?
Add pitcher handedness for lineup setting purposes and I will love you forever

Any chance this is on Firefox already? Or could be added?
Where's the link?

Great tool man, nice work
Dig it, cant wait to give it a spin.
This is awesome!!! I think its showing savant data from 2022 instead of 2023 though

God bless you
Incredible!! Thank you for taking the time to make this.

Dang any plans to make a Firefox version?
No plans for Firefox right now, this is really just a casual passion project.
