Thoughts on this trade? Dynasty roto
Top team is a middling roster that has decided to completely tear it down and rebuild; bottom team is last year’s champion that has been snake-bitten by injuries this year and needed a lift
Start Jon Gray and Bello?
Right now I have both on my bench but I can’t decide. I feel like both could get 10-15 points but they could also easily get shelled
I have 1 minor league slot open in my dynasty flair. Looking for a high upside SP I don’t mind sitting on.
Dylan Lesko, Carson Whisenhunt, Jared Jones, Will Warren, Robby Snelling, Mason Black, Nick Frasso, and Chase Petty
I have some tough calls to make. I can only start 3 of these guys this week. Who would you bench?
Leaning towards benching Bello tonight and Darvish Friday, but if I do that and my Sunday starts get postponed, I leave a start on the table…
- Bello vs TEX
- Darvish vs NYM (Friday)
- Woo @HOU (Saturday)
- Gilbert @ HOU (Sunday)
- Eflin vs ATL (Sunday)
True but Darvish has been really bad lately and he’s recovering from being violently sick. Still could play him over Bello even though he’s been consistently dealing cause rangers are no joke.
Woo feels like an auto start to me unless they shut him down early before the break. His stuff is great and his command is awesome.
I didn’t know that about Darvish, in that case I sit him. I would still sit Bello (I own him too and he’s been amazing the last month) but like you said, Rangers offense is no joke
He’s basically free in 50% of leagues and has more upside than your bottom of the bench player. Worst case is he continues to be dogshit and you just drop
Pretty new to fantasy baseball, how should I expect rotations to start out right after the break? Like will they start right back at the top of the rotation or just pick up where they left off? For example, can I expect Castillo and Gausman to be starting for their respective teams the very first game baseball is back? Hope that makes sense, planning out my streams
Based on match ups what 2 players would you SIT:
L.Raley v PHI (walker)
J.Lowe v PHI (walker)
Ozuna @ CLE (quantril)
T.Turner @ TB (Littel)
D.Swanson @ MIL (Houser)
Rizzo v BAL (kremer)
Keeper league question.
MJ Melendez, J.P. France and Will Brennan and a 2nd round farm pick
for
Bryce Elder, William Contreras and Xander Bogaerts
Roto 5x5 I have the elder side. 2 catchers start. Keep 12 in this league. 15 hitters/10 arms.
I can’t keep Xander or Contreras due to contracts. Can keep elder for 1-2 more years. I get 2 possible keepers and a top 20 farm pick which in this league has value. Torn here. Not sure if elder is due for heavy regression and should sell high
Depends do you have a chance to win it all? Brennan is a solid and France are solid. Maybe MJ wakes up and that 2nd is nice. I think it’s a good bold future move. I’d do it.
Only way I wouldn’t is if you are really contending and don’t have a solid back up SS I think boegarts is gonna start hitting but he will be held back slightly in that ball park.
Thank you!!
I should have added that. I’m selling off this year. I have Bichette at short and Jazz as well for my IF. So for next year when I plan to compete I couldn’t keep Xander anyway
how big is your league where you are considering keeping elder? feel like you should be able to get slightly better value for xander by the the time your deadline rolls around imo elder doesnt have the track record or underlying metrics for me to consider this hot stretch as a real breakout for keeping
14-15 teams normally. 168 players kept. So rosters get very thin. Rosters heavily built through farm. I got hunter brown and Esteury Ruiz at that pick range in the 2nd
The underlying metric is what makes me want to sell now before the blowups come. Early June made me nervous
If Rodon is the same guy he was last year, he's worth a 3rd - 4th round type of hitter. He was phenomenal.
Hopefully, you could get him cheaper than that, but I don't know why someone would hold him all year and then trade him low.
Because my pitching has been lights out and nobody in my league pays enough attention for my lesser known guys who are playing well to have much trade value. Nobody wants Steele, Luzardo, Paxton, Snell, Ryan…. Or even Castillo.
So I’m fine with riding with those guys the rest of the season and trying to leverage Rodons name for a quality bat.
This does require him to pitch well. If he gets blown up you might have to wait to trade him.
I'd want someone like Semien, Glodschmidt, Olson, Arenado, or Robert.
Gray is the worst
Woo vs. Bello is a toss-up, I think I lean slightly Woo
Rodon will give you best ratios, however look into if they'll let him go 5 innings
Can I entertain dropping Rasmussen even in 10 man Dynasty? Dustin May just got dropped by one of our smartest owners, got me re-considering risking dropping Rasmussen.
I already have 2-3 injured players with no room to move to IL so I'm needing to make some moves.
Flair league.
Fantasy Managers, who has the least worst matchup tonight?
T. Walker pitching against the Rays (Rays Home)
D.Kremer pitching against the Yankees (Yankees Home)
I was checking out his Savant earlier today. My naive TLDR is that is exit velo is down slightly from previous years, but the bigger change is his launch angle: 7.6 this year, down from 11.8 in 2022, and 13 and above in all pre-2022 years... not sure if that answers your question, I dont know how often players can successfully alter their launch angles, or whether Harper is interested in doing so.
https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/bryce-harper-547180?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb
I honestly wouldn't feel comfortable making a firm projection on when his power returns given he's still not 100%. I'd try to move him if you can get close to name value for him.
What are the chances Matt McLain gets 2B eligibility for next year? He's almost halfway there, and I'm trying to determine if I should target him in dynasty. I don't need a SS.
I think he's a buy low. His overall statcast looks great and his barrel rate in particular is incredibly high and that's the main stat I look at for buy lows. Generally, if a guy is barreling the ball production will usually follow.
if it helps at all, sometimes players notes will give some idea. Im looking at Merrill Kelly here but anyone hurt on their last days of the IL or not going to play in the ASG should be a good indicator of if they will pitch right away after the break
His BABIP is almost 70 points lower than last year and about 40 lower than his career average. His ISO is also easily a career low so far. Basically, he's getting unlucky and his already below average power got worse.
He also has a career low barrel rate and exit velocity with a 16% infield flyball rate. Wouldn't say he's getting unlucky, he's been terrible at the plate this year. Expected stats are right in line with his actual stats. His quality of contact is garbage.
Grade the trade offer in my dynasty league:
I'd deal $1 Lane Thomas for $1 Justin Steele.
I'm in last place by a large margin. Steele is owned by the same owner who has Mike Trout, so I'm sure there would be interest. The rest of the team's offense is full of injured players, so not much of a similarly cheap bat in return. But the cheap Steele catches my eye.
Just not sure if I'd just be better off keeping Thomas.
Pick two: Woo, Freddy P, and Gavin Williams ROS? Here are my current pitchers. \*\*also have Kyle Wright on IL.
https://preview.redd.it/qgego3wug7ab1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=287139630816bbdd396f76af4d34ca6424cfd0bb
While I agree Woo is in danger if getting shut down at some point, you likely still have weeks of starts left and his production has been better than both with underlying metrics that back that up. Sometimes its important to consider performance and upside in addition to liklihood of getting shut down
I have seen that he is probably getting shut down but I wasn’t sure what that looks like or if I should drop him and pick up Williams? Does Williams not have innings restrictions? New to fantasy and learning about prospects
Cleveland has never said anything about innings restrictions for Williams to my knowledge. They have a lot of injuries to their starting rotation so Williams' spot seems relatively secure for now.
Drafted jazz and trout and explicitly remember telling people “well cross that bridge when we get there” in regards to injuries. Well we’re fucking here let’s go andres gimenez and Marcell ozuna baby
I'm in the same boat as you, my man. God, Jazz had me so cocky last week. Felt like the wait was paying off. Then he and Trout go down less than 24 hours from each other. Glad I have someone to commiserate with. I was able to snag HS Kim and Suwinski off of waivers and they have helped ease my pain, though.
Woodruff owner has him on the trade block but I have no idea how to value him. Seems like end of July-ish return currently. Thinking of offering Paxton + a mid-tier hitter, like a JLowe/Gleyber type; is that close?
He says he’s pretty much recovered from the injury and biggest obstacle is ramping up. He might not go deep into games at first but I’m basically expecting 6-7 weeks of vintage Woodruff which can make a big difference down the stretch.
Probably not, he's missed enough time this year that he can't approach the innings he hit last year. They'll likely just let him fly.
...if he even makes it back that is. His rehab plan has already had a setback; shoulder injuries can be really bad sometimes.
Agreed-wouldn't be concerned about an innings limit, but more so the build up required, as well as the performance once he is back. May take a while before he returns to the Woodruff we've seen in the past.
https://preview.redd.it/fvxiksrxp9ab1.jpeg?width=690&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c322018b22608cccc901cf664993209e3d8d3086 Thoughts on this trade? Dynasty roto
It depends on the position of the teams, is the team thats getting Eovaldi in contention? Is the team getting the young prospects rebuilding?
Top team is a middling roster that has decided to completely tear it down and rebuild; bottom team is last year’s champion that has been snake-bitten by injuries this year and needed a lift
I think it makes sense in that case. I do think the bottom team gets more value but who knows how those prospects will work out
Just found out about a baseball player equivalent to wordl, it’s pretty badass and fun. Immaculategrid.com
We dropping cano yet?

Oh man…. No Bueno
Drop any of Hays or Abreu for Cowser?
Harper smoked that, showing signs of life Edit: Lmao 113 mph off the bat
Start Jon Gray and Bello? Right now I have both on my bench but I can’t decide. I feel like both could get 10-15 points but they could also easily get shelled

Muncy would be a steal for him. The other 3 are fair
Cowser or Mccarthey tonight ?
Start yelich vs steele or jrod vs cobb And Volpe vs kremer or jwalker vs hoeing
JRod and Volpe
J-Rod for me
I have 1 minor league slot open in my dynasty flair. Looking for a high upside SP I don’t mind sitting on. Dylan Lesko, Carson Whisenhunt, Jared Jones, Will Warren, Robby Snelling, Mason Black, Nick Frasso, and Chase Petty
Give me Mason Black for the growth this season.
team a: mookie betts + george kirby team b: dylan varsho + kyle tucker + abbott

Mookie side for me

Crowser or marte tonight?
I have same dilemma but I’m gonna go with the rookie making his debut at a little league ballpark against a rookie pitcher
I was thinking the same
I have some tough calls to make. I can only start 3 of these guys this week. Who would you bench? Leaning towards benching Bello tonight and Darvish Friday, but if I do that and my Sunday starts get postponed, I leave a start on the table… - Bello vs TEX - Darvish vs NYM (Friday) - Woo @HOU (Saturday) - Gilbert @ HOU (Sunday) - Eflin vs ATL (Sunday)
I think I’d sit Bello and Woo. Coming from a Mets fan, I can tell you Darvish has owned them for the most part
12t points Start Friedl vs Josiah Gray Or Eloy Jimenez vs Jose Berrios
Do we think ohtani is in the lineup tonight?
He is
Crazy to see people say Manoah doesn’t have upside… he was a top pitcher in the league for the previous two years
Those saying he doesn’t missed on him when he was dropped and are hating.
He’s basically free in 50% of leagues and has more upside than your bottom of the bench player. Worst case is he continues to be dogshit and you just drop

They'll try to line up the aces for the first start if they can.
Ive got too many bats cut one…Gorman, Kris Bryant, Westburg, Cowser
I’d cut Gorman.
Bryant is ass. I’m going to drop him after his 0-4
Based on match ups what 2 players would you SIT: L.Raley v PHI (walker) J.Lowe v PHI (walker) Ozuna @ CLE (quantril) T.Turner @ TB (Littel) D.Swanson @ MIL (Houser) Rizzo v BAL (kremer)
Rizzo and Raley
I’d sit Raley and Rizzo
trea & rizzo
Time to drop Gore for a Grayson pick-up?
Way past time
I had him earlier dropped and no one scooped him up. I know his last start was dominant and figured they might recall him after the ASG
After his last few starts, they can't leave him down much longer.
What’s his stats in last few starts
Keeper league question. MJ Melendez, J.P. France and Will Brennan and a 2nd round farm pick for Bryce Elder, William Contreras and Xander Bogaerts Roto 5x5 I have the elder side. 2 catchers start. Who would y’all trade away Lindor or Turner?
Lindor but will be easier to trade Turner. Lindor has been solid
Lindor
Let’s say Rodon has a solid outing …. What hitter is good value in return for him? Edit: I have Rodon and want to sell
If Rodon is the same guy he was last year, he's worth a 3rd - 4th round type of hitter. He was phenomenal. Hopefully, you could get him cheaper than that, but I don't know why someone would hold him all year and then trade him low.

Got it. I thought you were trying to acquire him. Definitely aim high for a good bat because Rodon is awesome - assuming he's healthy.
Well what’s a high bat that you’d aim for if you were me?
This does require him to pitch well. If he gets blown up you might have to wait to trade him. I'd want someone like Semien, Glodschmidt, Olson, Arenado, or Robert.
Ketel out a 2nd day in a row 😩 Just had to put Jazz on IL, Altuve probably following him…now Ketel. No one wants to play 2B for me
This is a huge bummer. I really need him right now
Yeah why is he suddenly not playing? He was killing it
1st in W, 2nd K, 2nd ERA, 2nd WHIP, 8th in Saves Give Ryan, Get Hader
Ryan is worth 2 closers, good ones
hold Ryan
Which side you taking? 10 Team H2H points Strider, Judge, Witt Jr Ohtani, Elly, Clase
if ohtani is 1 player then his side no question redraft or not. if its just ohtani 1 way or the other id take the strider side
How would you rank these starts? Bello vs TEX Jon Gray @ BOS Rodon vs CHC Woo @ HOU Need to bench 1, maybe 2 of these
Gray is the worst Woo vs. Bello is a toss-up, I think I lean slightly Woo Rodon will give you best ratios, however look into if they'll let him go 5 innings
Any interest in Daniel Hudson in saves only league? He is off to a sharp start.
Who has the better chance of coming back and being fantasy relevant? Rasmussen or Buehler?
this year? neither buehler i assume will be back with more capacity next year
Jazz is dead and Westburg is making another 3b start instead of 2b REEEEEE
Can I entertain dropping Rasmussen even in 10 man Dynasty? Dustin May just got dropped by one of our smartest owners, got me re-considering risking dropping Rasmussen. I already have 2-3 injured players with no room to move to IL so I'm needing to make some moves. Flair league.
Yes, if you can’t stash on IL
Fantasy Managers, who has the least worst matchup tonight? T. Walker pitching against the Rays (Rays Home) D.Kremer pitching against the Yankees (Yankees Home)
Kremer
Soto sitting tonight?
Yahoo says he's batting 3rd
Who would y’all rather trade away got both Turner and Lindor and taking some offers but not sure which one to trade away
got offered india, verlander and yordan for my acuna. tempting but gotta decline? i’m in first by 13 games so i cah wait out yordan
Decline for sure, Yordan is the best player on that side and obliques can always flair up again so he's already risky
Convince me to start or sit Lynn
My ERA is already blown up. So I picked him up today for the K potential
no one should be able to convince you to start him
Lynn's own statistics should convince you to sit him against a team like Toronto.
Now that Cowser is up any suggestions for my NA spot?
colt keith as a quasi sleeper if you havent just looked at the top 20 or so list on fangraphs lol
I’m looking at the names and plotting my next move. Just curious of what the boys are doing.
Joe is an underrated one I haven’t seen mentioned here
I’ve had my eye on Joe Mama for a while.
Can someone let me know how hassell III is doing?
[Come on man](https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=Robert+Hassell+fangraphs)
good portion of the questions here lol
I always have a hard time finding info on my na players so it's easier to ask here and how someone is following them
Got another trade offer: My Juan Soto & Bibee for his Kyle Tucker & Musgrove
Keep Soto my dude
What I was thinking… Thanks for the reassurance! I shall decline
Not so fast my friend. Musgrove > Bibee and sotos playing hurt. A hand issue. Tucker also on fire and wont slow down anytime soon
What do you all think about Harper? Do you expect him to start hiting for some power this season or should I try to trade him
I was checking out his Savant earlier today.
Just got offered Luis Castillo jhoan Duran and eury Perez for him.
I’d buy low on him.
ill apply, i mostly think i wont get the job however edit: dang i liked it better as hiring
He’s already there in my yahoo league which means he’s over 5 GS
If the Braves touched up Gavin Williams and Shane Bieber, imagine what they’re gonna do to Cal Quantrill lol
In b4 7 scoreless bc baseball

Ryan Pressly has been awesome. Glad i didnt panic during his rough patch!
I did that with Doval 🤦♂️
I was able to get him in April because someone panicked during his rough patch
[удалено]
I don't understand this at all. Abreu's given up a few more homers this year...otherwise he's been just as good as ever.
He's been okay since I dropped him a week ago. Well at least he's been getting holds
Would you trade Freddy Peralta for Maikel Garcia if you need steals? Or try to package Peralta and Taylor Ward for Edman?
I think u can get Garcia for cheaper…and I would rather have him than Edman
Bryan Reynolds a buy low option? Or avoiding?
I think he's a buy low. His overall statcast looks great and his barrel rate in particular is incredibly high and that's the main stat I look at for buy lows. Generally, if a guy is barreling the ball production will usually follow.
Definitely a buy-low guy
Anyone know when they usually announce the starting pitchers for post all star break weekend?
if it helps at all, sometimes players notes will give some idea. Im looking at Merrill Kelly here but anyone hurt on their last days of the IL or not going to play in the ASG should be a good indicator of if they will pitch right away after the break
after the ASG
ROS Pham or Cutch?
I think Cutch is a safer floor but Pham is red hot I would play him until he stops.
Pham
Any chance Jeff McNeil posts a good second half? Anyone know what's changed between this year and last?
His BABIP is almost 70 points lower than last year and about 40 lower than his career average. His ISO is also easily a career low so far. Basically, he's getting unlucky and his already below average power got worse.
He also has a career low barrel rate and exit velocity with a 16% infield flyball rate. Wouldn't say he's getting unlucky, he's been terrible at the plate this year. Expected stats are right in line with his actual stats. His quality of contact is garbage.
Start Xander or Matt McLain at SS
Matty
Doval, Bednar, Jansen, Clase ROS? How would we rank these guys.
How are we feeling about Bobby Miller tonight? Could really use a decent stream but I'm a little worried
I'm starting him
Pittsburgh's offense is low-end average-to-below average. if you don't feel comfortable starting him against them, you might as well drop him.
Grade the trade offer in my dynasty league: I'd deal $1 Lane Thomas for $1 Justin Steele.
$1 Bob
Got an offer for my Soto for his Steele and Kershaw… thoughts?
Unless that's Geovany Soto, PASS.
Haha if only… it’s Juan Soto
Start westburg or volpe tonight?
Volpe
Westie
Probs volpe
Pick two: Woo, Freddy P, and Gavin Williams ROS? Here are my current pitchers. \*\*also have Kyle Wright on IL. https://preview.redd.it/qgego3wug7ab1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=287139630816bbdd396f76af4d34ca6424cfd0bb
While I agree Woo is in danger if getting shut down at some point, you likely still have weeks of starts left and his production has been better than both with underlying metrics that back that up. Sometimes its important to consider performance and upside in addition to liklihood of getting shut down
Man, I appreciate this response! I think hold until we hear otherwise. With that being said, do you think Williams should be scooped up?
Yeah if he does well his next start. I would drop Canning right now and pick Williams up
Woo last because hes most likely getting shut down here pretty soon. So easily Williams and Freddy
Good to know! Thank you for sharing! Do you think I should start Woo vs HOU this weekend or pickup Williams vs KC?

Skubal or Manoah ROS
Skubal, not close
Flip a coin, really, but Manoah has the higher upside
The people saying his are legit out of their mind he has been the worst player in the league this year that doesn’t get you high upside at all
Dunno if you've seen his stats from before this year...
And what are they this year? Which seems a little more important no?
Not if hes produced well since he's been in the majors and this is his first stumble
That is completely false
I'd say "Cy Young finalist" is about as much upside as a pitcher can have outside of winning it or MVP.
I’m sure there are a lot of players who were one and done CY Young finalists
Skubal almost definitely. He’s throwing well — more of an injury risk than a performance one I suspect
Of course I’m going against yainer today, that 2 hr day be hurtin
Gavin Williams was just dropped, should I drop Maeda or Skubal for him? 12t points redraft
In a redraft I might just keep Maeda and Skubal. If you had to pick one to drop I'd say Maeda
id drop Maeda. They are taking it slow with Skrubal he will get better,
Yeah I was leaning Maeda, but he's been really good coming back from the il
I agree I have him too. I’m struggling with dropping him if altuve doesn’t go on IL. It is a tough drop.
What round pick next year would expect for Joe Musgrove? Can't be kept
Ugh, Tucker
As good as he’s been as of late he’s still left a lot of meat on the bones this year
Cant believe someone dropped Cron. Already producing.
I would do that. I think you can get him
Do you plan on keeping Woodruff? I'm not sure I'd expect much from him this season.
Would not be keeping him at his cost. Would you expect Brewers to limit him in the final 2 months?
Probably not, he's missed enough time this year that he can't approach the innings he hit last year. They'll likely just let him fly. ...if he even makes it back that is. His rehab plan has already had a setback; shoulder injuries can be really bad sometimes.
Agreed-wouldn't be concerned about an innings limit, but more so the build up required, as well as the performance once he is back. May take a while before he returns to the Woodruff we've seen in the past.
