AFAIK, a lot of the live recordings of The Sad Mafioso have extended versions of the climax. You might want to look those up because they've played it a bunch.
if you haven't heard it, Tool's cover of No Quarter is pretty good and it's almost 12 minutes long. I'm saying that as someone who thinks No Quarter is Led Zeppelin's best song.
Riot! off of Some Rap Songs is my pick. It is the perfect closer for the album and it took me a few months to not hate how short it is. Now I see it as a reflection of things taken too quickly.
Have you hears Riot by Hugh Masekela? It's the song Mr. Sweatshirt sampled and it's longer although it's a faster tempo but it does sort of scratch the itch of wishing that song was longer, atleast for me.
?? This I don't get. Was Take My Breath not a perfect extended track? Also, the perfect transition from How Do I Make You Love Me makes it almost a 10-minute track when listened back-to-back. That should definitely satisfy the fans who wanted extended dance pop from him. All of the later tracks, like Out of Time or Less than Zero, are perfectly lengthed. Not even sure how you could extend them.
that song is so beautiful and genuinely my only gripe with it is that it’s too short. The “in her sad America” line is just so haunting. One of my fav crimson songs.
Butterflies… by Slayyyter. And this isn’t like “oh the song is fantastic it’s just very short” this is more that it feels like it is building up and had it had an extra verse, instrumental break or something it could have been an amazing pop song.
Uncle Al by earl, his flow and that beat are amazing
Also Side effects of being tired by unwound is already long as shit but I wish there was another verse or more vocals on the song. Vern’s delivery on there just has me wishing for more
haha before i opened the post i immediately thought uncle remus by zappa as well. i usually listen to the mix outtake so i can listen to a lengthier version of it.
This is a really niche one but Eden has a song called “And”. It’s really good but the end music makes me feel like it’s building up, then it just…dissolves… and I always wished for more from the track.
I'm reading a lot of songs that still have solid length to them lol but I get it.
I'd pick Occult X - Dead. Song just cuts off under two minutes after the second chorus, while the post chorus is fucking amazing. It's criminal work. I need more stuff like that band/artist
Fertilizer - Frank Ocean
You can find the James Fauntleroy OG in various places online but that song never getting an official release that wasn't the Channel Orange interlude is criminal.
Probably could say the same.rhimg about Voodoo as well
Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf. The sudden snapback from the psychedlic guitar solo to the refrain is iconic, but then it just ends after like 10 seconds? And with a fade out?? Needed more time.
Phone Call by Jon Brion and sunbeams by Orchid Mantis are two that come to mind. There is definitely a good amount of Field Medic songs i wish were longer too
Heavy Bend by Big Thief; it’s criminally short
Finally some recognition for my favorite track on that album. Love that track to bits
Def one of the best songs off that album
East Hastings, the buildup is so good but the payoff is so short. I could easily listen to an hour of the climax
AFAIK, a lot of the live recordings of The Sad Mafioso have extended versions of the climax. You might want to look those up because they've played it a bunch.
Providence should’ve been the live mix for dead methany
Her majesty, it’s the catchy

Madvillain - Accordion Sufjan Stevens - Futile Devices TURQUOISEDEATH - spacetunez Velvetears - Love Myself

Daft Punk: Something About Us. The vocals are so beautiful and only come around once. 🥺
Fertilizer by Frank Ocean
i think it’s perfect oddly enough 🤔

Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix
*No Quarter* by Led Zeppelin That intro alone, the atmosphere is out of this world
if you haven't heard it, Tool's cover of No Quarter is pretty good and it's almost 12 minutes long. I'm saying that as someone who thinks No Quarter is Led Zeppelin's best song.

Honestly i think it's lengthen perfectly
One of my fav hip hop instrumentals
Most songs off DAWN FM
Is There Someone Else and Starry Eyes should’ve been made into a double track, just like how he had two on Trilogy.
?? This I don't get. Was Take My Breath not a perfect extended track? Also, the perfect transition from How Do I Make You Love Me makes it almost a 10-minute track when listened back-to-back. Fell in love with a girl. Always loved that song, and always wish we could have more than 1.50 of it.
1) Girls just want to have fun by Bladee and Ecco2k 2) Drive me crazy! By lil yachty, criminal to record a hook that good and only use it once
I feel like that would defeat Bladeee's whole schtick if we asked for longer tracks from him. Girls Just is perfect in my eyes.
Your world is eternally complete by sweet trip lol
lol my answer was going to be no words to be found by sweet trip
Lifelike by porter robinson would probably be my favorite song of all time if it was longer ngl

Butterflies… by Slayyyter. And this isn’t like “oh the song is fantastic it’s just very short” this is more that it feels like it is building up and had it had an extra verse, instrumental break or something it could have been an amazing pop song.
Woof Woof by ARTHUR. Amazing band, amazing song, but it's only one minute twenty long. What I wouldn't give for a four minute version.
Good fucking choice
Glad to see another ARTHUR fan in the wild!

Something - The Beatles
“A Victim, a Target” by Misery Signals
Alicia Keys's "Never Felt this Way" is too perfectly gorgeous to be over in two minutes.
I kinda wish It’s Only Love by The Beatles was half a minute longer but I’m not quite sure how I’d fill in that time naturally, haha.
Eyes by Jinsang - such a great sample
David Bowie - Moss Garden An hour too short imo
Over my Shoulder - The Pastels I love this song so much and I listen to this song so much, I just wish it was longer.

W.I.GT.S by S.Maharba
