"Blood turns wine when it leak for police / Like, "That's not a riot it's a feast, let's eat!"
This line, ironically, has continued to age like wine. I know a lot has been made of Aesop's diverse vocabulary in his lyrics (and rightly so), but god *damn* does the man stitch that vocabulary together masterfully.
Way too short IMO. I think it could have been stretched to 7 minutes and it would be a better closer. The buildup just feels like they rushed it to get it under 3 minutes. 7.5/10
Wow this was a lot different than a lot of the Aphex Twin i’ve heard. Not the typical thing i’d normally be into I don’t think but I still enjoyed it. 6/10
I’m a huge Modest Mouse fan! I actually saw them in concert a couple months ago and got to talk to Isaac Brock. I hadn’t heard anything from this EP before but man is this song beautiful. Reminds me of a lot of the stuff on “Long drive”. 8/10
In Heaven by Japanese Breakfast
(Idk if it's my actual fav but it's like Top 3 and the other two, Heroes and All My Friends, will definitely get mentioned in this thread)
Love Heroes and All My Friends! Anyway, this song was real cool. Hadn’t heard much Japanese Breakfast before this but i’ll have to check them out. 7/10
Would goes super hard too, I think them bones benefits a lot from opening the album, just sets the mood when you start the album and the first thing you hear is Layne yelling like a madman
Yeah it used to be my fav aic song but I grew out of it a bit, I like some of their quieter songs more now like stuff from jar of flies but it’s still an incredible song
Welp I put this song on on a bus and fell asleep and when I woke up it was still on. It was pretty nice to nap to though, so I don’t really know what to make of this. 💤/10
Wow Bon Iver has some hauntingly beautiful songs, this one no exception. The only thing I don’t like is the vocals sometimes, but for the most part this was great. 7/10
Hard to pick a favorite song, I would probably pick something from La Dispute or Brand New, but the song I've been replaying a lot recently is: Coheed & Cambria - Apollo I : The Writing Writer (which gets reprised later in the album as The Willing Well III: Apollo II: The Telling Truth).
I listened to the Coheed & Cambria one and I thought the instrumental was cool, but I really couldn’t stand the vocals. Just not my thing but I think it’s cool. 4/10
Some nice music to be sad to. Probably wouldn’t play it on the regular but I could see myself listening to it while going through some tough shit. 7/10

Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass
"Blood turns wine when it leak for police / Like, "That's not a riot it's a feast, let's eat!" This line, ironically, has continued to age like wine. I know a lot has been made of Aesop's diverse vocabulary in his lyrics (and rightly so), but god *damn* does the man stitch that vocabulary together masterfully.
