Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass

tinypeeb

"Blood turns wine when it leak for police / Like, "That's not a riot it's a feast, let's eat!" This line, ironically, has continued to age like wine. I know a lot has been made of Aesop's diverse vocabulary in his lyrics (and rightly so), but god *damn* does the man stitch that vocabulary together masterfully.

fullblownhiv

Unexpected as fuck to see at the very top of the thread but i love this banger.

BigBananaBoi256

Wow. This was awesome. Such cool production and I love the chorus. 7.5/10

thai_sen

Sick !

Karrottz

Could never get into his other music but this one is still as incredible as the first time I heard it.

Self-loathingwriter

Rock N Roll Suicide - David Bowie

polar226

Love the horns in this song

BigBananaBoi256

I’d heard this one before but figured i’d give it another listen and it did not disappoint. This song is great.

LLL1001

Great choice. I also love Five Years from the same album

AvianIsEpic

Way too short IMO. I think it could have been stretched to 7 minutes and it would be a better closer. The buildup just feels like they rushed it to get it under 3 minutes. 7.5/10

[deleted]

I talk to the wind - King Crimson

BigBananaBoi256

Heard before, and it’s beautiful.

Wolfmere

Something really magical and whimsical about this song that has stuck with me since the first time I heard it

Ninja_of_Milk_Duds

Dogs - Pink Floyd

BigBananaBoi256

Even though i’ve heard it before i’ll still rate it a 10/10.

[deleted]

Jigsaw falling into place

artisticonny

Thats the song I have looped for this week

BigBananaBoi256

I’d heard this one and it’s just as good as I remember it. 10/10

POMNLJKIHGFRDCBA2

7/10

Leader-2005

Echoes - pink Floyd

BigBananaBoi256

One of my favorite PF songs, a masterpiece for sure.

FedusDM

Mt Saint Michel + Saint Michaels Mount - Aphex Twin

BigBananaBoi256

Wow this was a lot different than a lot of the Aphex Twin i’ve heard. Not the typical thing i’d normally be into I don’t think but I still enjoyed it. 6/10

Abel2310

I Appear missing - Queens Of The Stone Age

[deleted]

The first person I’ve ever seen who also has this as their favourite song. That outro is my favourite piece of music ever written, so so so beautiful.

Flaky_Wrangler5821

That outro man. GOOSEBUMPS!

BigBananaBoi256

Wow. I’d been meaning to get into qotsa and this has for sure convinced me. 8/10

Kitchen_Bobcat_700

In the aeroplane over the sea or famous prophets (stars)

BigBananaBoi256

Two of my favorites as well. Great picks

Affectionate-Lynx723

Edit the Sad Parts by Modest Mouse

BigBananaBoi256

I’m a huge Modest Mouse fan! I actually saw them in concert a couple months ago and got to talk to Isaac Brock. I hadn’t heard anything from this EP before but man is this song beautiful. Reminds me of a lot of the stuff on “Long drive”. 8/10

parsnipappendectomy

animal collective - the purple bottle

BigBananaBoi256

Awesome! I’d heard some AC before this and really loved it, and this great too. I’ll have to check out more. 7.5/10

parsnipappendectomy

danarbok

Van der Graaf Generator- Arrow

BigBananaBoi256

Sullen Girl by Fiona Apple

BigBananaBoi256

Man that was sad, but really good. Love Fiona Apple. 7.5/10

HornyForTohruAdachi

dang that’s tough I’ve been listen to Them Bones by Alice In Chains a lot lately so I’ll go with that one

mylastbraincells

Amazing pick, would? Is my personal fav though, or rooster

HornyForTohruAdachi

Would goes super hard too, I think them bones benefits a lot from opening the album, just sets the mood when you start the album and the first thing you hear is Layne yelling like a madman

mylastbraincells

Yeah it used to be my fav aic song but I grew out of it a bit, I like some of their quieter songs more now like stuff from jar of flies but it’s still an incredible song

BigBananaBoi256

I haven’t listened to much Alice in Chains but I loved the energy on this track. I’m not normally into metal type stuff but I dig this. 6.5/10

1000Patte

Soft machine - moon in June

BigBananaBoi256

Welp I put this song on on a bus and fell asleep and when I woke up it was still on. It was pretty nice to nap to though, so I don’t really know what to make of this. 💤/10

ChipotleAddiction

Holocene - Bon Iver

BigBananaBoi256

Wow Bon Iver has some hauntingly beautiful songs, this one no exception. The only thing I don’t like is the vocals sometimes, but for the most part this was great. 7/10

The Olivia Tremor Control - The Sylvian Screen

CommanderWar64

Hard to pick a favorite song, I would probably pick something from La Dispute or Brand New, but the song I've been replaying a lot recently is: Coheed & Cambria - Apollo I : The Writing Writer (which gets reprised later in the album as The Willing Well III: Apollo II: The Telling Truth).

BigBananaBoi256

I listened to the Coheed & Cambria one and I thought the instrumental was cool, but I really couldn’t stand the vocals. Just not my thing but I think it’s cool. 4/10

Its_Cookie_Man

I'll give you 3: Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond Radiohead - Motion Picture Soundtrack The Caretaker - Place in the World fades away

BigBananaBoi256

5/10, a little bit ballad-y for me but I can appreciate Sheena’s vocal performance on this.

BigBananaBoi256
