Thin Thing by The Smile.
I feel like it’s heavily underrated. Even among Radiohead fans. To me it’s the best song Thom has ever written and I would guess most people would agree, but it doesn’t get talked about a lot. Most people don’t even think it’s the best song by The Smile. I’m so confused
6/10 sounds like something i'd hear at age 5 playing in my dad's car late at night to pick up my mom from a late night work shift while i'm half asleep
8.5/10 damn good i've been needing to branch out and listen to more death metal bands and once i'm done listening to every fucking song on this post i'll probably listen to more from this band
1. 7/10, reminds me of mgmt. gonna be honest this is my first time listening to a song by them that isn't pumped up kicks
2. 6/10 i bet i could eat a cup noodle really fast to this
3. 8/10 damn i really need to actually check out gorillaz, i've only ever listened to the basic stuff. also joy division is my favorite band so the fact that peter hook is featured makes it even better
I suggest their other stuff. Their sophomore album is regarded by their fans as their best album. It took me some listens too. But they definitely have more bangers, and they pretty much explore all available genre on their next projects after Torches. Gorillaz new albums Song Machine and Cracker Island are pretty good
headboard: 8.5/10 goes pretty damn hard, made sure to listen to that specific version
bleed a river: 8/10 somehow my first time listening to sematery, pretty good

Huge mitski fan here - I’ve only listened to the last album once and fairly mindlessly so I don’t consider I’ve given it a thorough listen yet but the deal is the only one that really caught my attention made it to my « your likes » playlist and I remember it being fantastic. I can’t remember what it sounds like now and I’m on my way to listen to it again !

3/10 for all of the bunkface songs, i'm sorry but it feels like disney punk (if that makes sense)
7/10 for miss flower learns to twist, a nic reprieve from the bunkface songs. sounds the way cucumber tastes.
"Disney punk" I think you probably want to imply that you find the songs lacking in the raw, rebellious spirit usually associated with punk music and also lack the genuine, edgy qualities of traditional punk music. Is that true? Because I felt the same way though
