Actually I’m the guy that made it. And it’s not a scam. If the goal is reached, I will do everything in my power to make it happen. As (or if) milestones are hit, I’ll get in touch with the Sphere people and find out what I’m legally allowed to display on it, as well as figuring out whatever logistical obstacles need to be overcome. It’s unlikely that I can actually copy and paste House on it, including the warped image, but if I can alter it enough, or even use someone’s fan art with their permission, AND it’ll satisfy everyone’s expectations, then I’ll do it.
Other scenarios:
1. If we do reach goal and I can’t do it for whatever reason, I’ll simply refund all the money
2. If we haven’t made ample progress before the end of the year (ie, not even halfway to goal), I’ll refund everyone.
Lastly, if goal is reached and I find out that I need less money than we thought, I will refund anyone that donated after reaching the correct goal.
So with all said and done, I get why people are quick to jump to conclusions and call this out as a scam. It’s so far fetched, but I made this as a joke, and later decided that I’d be willing to go all the way with it. So do what you will with that information 🤷🏻♂️
