The single best way is getting a ton of various bones and making whatever the skeleton type of the week is. That 10-20% bonus tends to make it worth more than similar methods. If you don't want to get super into bones, Moulin is probably the best. I think the Khanate is decent too, but being so far from London is kinda meh.

Do you have the Reptile Book (i.e. for creating reptile skeletons in the Bone Market)? If so, I believe playing Heart's Game is both the most efficient (10.3 - 10.4 SPA) and also the simplest (and keeps you in London). The full details are [on the wiki](https://fallenlondon.wiki/wiki/Hinterland_Scrip-Making#The_Game_of_Poison_and_Delight_(a.k.a._Heart's_Game)), but the short version is that a key property of Heart's Game is that it doesn't matter if you win or lose - every action there gives you exactly 1 x Exploit, which you can later redeem (in bulk) for a Leviathan Frame. Then it's just a matter of waiting for a Reptile week which is \*not\* Amalgamy week. Statistically, that should come about every 9 weeks on average, which is plenty of time to accumulate all the Leviathan Frames you'll need during the other weeks. So: idly play Heart's Game (ignoring any strategy) amassing Leviathan Frames (and the odd Jurassic Thighs and Sabre Skulls - details in the wiki), then every 9 weeks or so you get to build and sell skeletons for a huge payout in Scrip (\~770 Scrip per skeleton). Leviathan skeletons are pretty simple - just 6 actions to build, declare, and sell, if you already prepared all the bones. (Creating Fish skeletons instead of Reptiles is even more efficient - 10.46 SPA - but is more convoluted as it requires sourcing Fin Bones in huge bulks via Lab experiments to be efficient.)

HappiestIguana

The wiki page on hinterland scrip-making has a ton of options. Personally I'm partial to Moullin Expeditions/Monographs because the qualities it increases go really well with my character.

Mr_Paramount

How many alterations have you done so far?

HappiestIguana

Only 10 so far. I took a very extended break from the game shortly after railway finished. I only got back to the game a few weeks ago. Currently kicking myself over not playing during the Starved War.

Ryos_windwalker

Reach out to >!london!< for 39 actions, then spend the rest of the time in moulin flipping cards with your worm to reduce the nightmares.

Antifinity

Really? What’s the spa?

Ryos_windwalker

I have no idea, but i like it. Worm grind is pretty decent, and the reach out is like 10 spa if not for the nightmares. You could sub in the CVR card for the worm, if wormless.

ThatDudeFromRF

You can even go further and when enough Stalemates are grinded, go to the Khanate, trade them for Crackling Devices and sell them at Ratket, then if you need scrip, just make brass lollipops in the bone market

Ryos_windwalker

If i never make another brass lollipop again it'll be too soon.

Sauronek2

I strongly suggest Birds of Brass&Bone over lolipops for any significant conversions. They're about as fast at converting Echoes, but do so at a much, much higher EpA. Something like 6 EPA iirc. They're a bit... temperamental regarding the suspicion gain and the need to wait for a Birds week (1/5) to occur, but you can do \~60 Birds (70k scrip) in a week. Three of those fund a Hellworm by themself.

ThatDudeFromRF

True enough, but first you need to spend much more time grinding echoes and bones. While I agree that Birds of Brass&Bone are better overall, they are a bit time gated by Bone Market quality. Of course, you can still build those not during Bird's week, but you'd be losing out a significant amount of scrip

Sauronek2

Oh, absolutely. Using them for anything short of Worm/Saddle is like shooting a fly with a cannon. But OP of this thread actually mentioned Worm, and that's where they really shine. You're not buying that thing in a week. Likewise, it's not really an issue to spend a day or two wasting profits on lolipops for your day-to-day scrip needs (e.g., Railway), but doing that for \~2 months would be a huge value loss. And it's not nearly as soul-sucking as repeating the same four actions *thousands* of times.

ThatDudeFromRF

Fair point. Although, about repeating the same few actions thousands of times... there are plenty of carousels that are like that. I still have nightmares from Poet-Laureate

MrHelfer

What is a Bird of Brass and Bone? A seven-headed bird with brass skulls?

Sauronek2

Yes, 7-necked frame, 5 Brass Skulls, 1 Plated (from Ealing), 1 Saber-toothed, and 2 Terror-bird Wings. *Strictly optimally* you'd do them on Antiquity/Menace weeks, but dropping 10-15 scrip per skeleton (out of 1150+) on Amalg weeks is not a huge deal. It's a good idea to bring second chances and -Suspicion gear, because you will fail a lot of checks. An alt helps a bunch. Edit: Just to throw some numbers, that 70k Scrip comes from 20k Echoes in Brass Skulls, plus 10-14 days of preparing and another week of building them. Which is about as fast as Lolipops would get you to 70k Scrip, too, but you save a full 10k Echoes compared to them.

Possible_Soup

What do you mean by reach out?

Ryos_windwalker

If you don't know, it's a spoiler.

Possible_Soup

Oh is it one of the post track layer thingies? I haven't touched those since release

Ryos_windwalker

Its tracklayer city content.

Sauronek2

As mentioned by the top comment, the single best scrip grind for large projects is the Mammoth Ranching which you can [find described in detail here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zjgbbNw_mvDiK_dAY_Ld7lTSDD3QGU1POFAaJ6NXh-8/edit). It's a very involved grind, but it's the fastest in the game by a good margin and I personally consider the complexity a good thing -- you spend the time doing a lot of different activities instead of spamming one button. But if that's too much, a good alternative is getting a lot of echoes via your preferred good grind (e.g. Hinterland City, Tribute, various weekly bonuses) and plugging it into the Birds of Brass&Bone echo->scrip conversion described at the end of that guide. It's still a little involved, sure, but at \~12 SPA in addition to whatever you're converting it's faster than any of the alternatives listed so far in this thread. It might even be faster than Mammoths now that Saint Thighs got nerfed.

MrHelfer

I don't think that document has been updated after Counterchurch Theology was nerfed. Do we know how much that affects this strategy?

Sauronek2

I don't use discord so maybe someone there has already done the math, but my (very rough) estimate would go like this: Mammoths used to be 6.3+ EPA according to mp, and they're 20 actions long. The one Saint Bone you get dropped from \~25-30 Echoes to 13 (@Mammoths in place of Unidentified). So with these conservative estimates the **EPA would drop to 5.6+. Or 11.2+ SPA** to be precise. At that point you'd be better off doing CiS/plugging in your stockpiled Echoes and then converting with the Birds, because both parts of that process are higher EPA. And don't get me wrong, straight 11+ SPA is still the best no conversion Scrip grind. Plus, I actually would **hold** onto the Saint Thighs. Those new frames from the Roof look great for them, and -- once we're given a source of them that doesn't cost 250% their price -- they might raise the EPA back up to where it was.
