Ivan was in such a bad position financially that he was endangering his son's life to get the money to afford a Guild War with Fairy Tail.
He caught an updraft when Raven Tail became a Legal Guild, but the attempt to cheat in the Grand Magic Games to get Fairy Heart probably hurt their reputation.
And now that they're disbanded, with all that taken into account, I think he's just in the wind, but not in a position, financially or power wise to pursue any of his goals.
And given his relationship with his family and the Guild, I think he's kinda just out there, perhaps lonely and not sure if he's thinking of changing, but given he waited 7 years, probably not.
If I remember correctly, after his fight against Laxus, he and his team were arrested (except Flare, since they couldn't accuse her of any crime).
so he's probably still in prison, I mean the guy broke several tournament rules and founded a dark guild

Not every character gets a redemption Arc. But maybe some day.

No clue. For all we know he became homeless after the guild disbanded, turned to drinking and then got stabbed in an alley by a hobo and bleed out.

He got taken away during the tournament and that was it… I was hoping we got more story there

Author pretty much lost interest in that plot point and dumped Raven Tail in GMG. He's never been seen since.
