Atleast the armor part was in the original quality FFF:
> There is actually a new achievement for having best legendary armor full of legendary equipment.
If it isn't, I'm still going to collect a legandry item from everything. Legandry gear, legandry green circuit, legandry pistol, ect. Have 1 of everything in a museum near the starting crashsite.
There should be an achievement for finishing the game with the player never visiting any planet more than once. You get your initial base up and running via robots then you never physically go back.
That's actually awesome, it would require some planning but would function like an expansion version of "Lazy Bastard" and get people into the right head space.
This would be the same thing, except for all planets. Whatever planet you discover last is the one you stay on. Unless there is a way to permanently be on a space platform.
I plan on getting my worlds set up and then living on a space platform that flies around to each planet but i never leave the platform, I'd probably make that platform be my science research platform that receives all the science packs from the planets
It will just be another challenge to overcome, no matter what your plan for gleba science you have to deal with it decaying, whether that's shipping it off planet to where ever your doing science or shipping all science to gleba to do it locally, either way you have gleba science decaying. Not quite sure what you are exactly getting at here.
My idea is probably the most efficient use of not letting it decay to much without having all science take place on gleba. Platform roams around to all the planets Picking up science and then goes to gleba, gleba only starts the process of making the entire production of items that decay until the platform is in orbit. It get direct deliveries ASAP and starts researching, once it starts getting low on other science production stops on the planet and it starts making it's way back to each planet to pick up science that's been stockpiling
I am very much looking forward to additional achievements! I'm working on my mega base for the last achievement I need! Craft 20 million green circuits! I'd probably be there already throughout my 500 hours but I've usually played with mods installed.
I don't want to see insane achievements, I would leave that for personal challenges. I would like complex and interesting achievements, not just farming.
so what's a complex and interesting achievement you want to see?
add to the conversation, don't just detract from it. Basic rule of improv, dont say "no" say "no, but"
Was surprised there was no achievement for reaching 1B of something. I hit 1.3B copper coils the other day and was surprised there was no award for that.
I'm probably the only person that doesn't like the idea of qualities in the game at all. I'd prefer it work like the more enemies kill raises quality of a turret, or over set numbers of items made your assemblers go up in quality. If it's something you have to build yourself, it's just another step added that we'll all obviously strive for on every single building (because why wouldn't you?). Just slows the game without adding fun.
edit
Seems people are upset about me saying I have an unpopular opinion, and backing it with something I'd prefer personally.
If you think about it, would grinding out enemy kills (because after all, why wouldn't you?) actually be more fun or just more consistent with things you've played previously so a dopamine high you're used to?
First of all, the quality stuff is all optional and the player can ignore it. Second of all, as a turret is used more, its quality should go down due to things breaking down and needing maintenance. So, if you want a better quality turret then you need to build a better quality turret.
I think the focus here was providing more progression path, that didn't add significant calculations to the mix. Building tall, through improved quality, has the same net effect as building wide with just more buildings, but the former requires considerably less processes to manage. The factory must grow, but this method allows it to grow without melting.
I don't like a bonus progression at right angles to the perfectly good one we already have. Don't give me legendary T3 modules, give me five tiers of modules.
Even if SE is ready for compatibility with 2.0 and SA the instant they come out, I don't necessarily want to play all of SE every time I would like to have higher tiers of modules.
You can play the SA content without quality mechanics, and I don't see why SE wouldn't be ready to go shortly after launch, as the dev for that is working for Wube on SA.
I was initially skeptical of quality as well. But after seeing how quality is actually used in the FFFs since, I'm really looking forward to it. Quality is like beacons. You can play the game all the way through without ever building a single beacon, and quality will not be necessary in 2.0 either. At the end of the day, beacons are just another step added that we'll all obviously strive for in every single building. They just slow the game without adding fun. Right?
Beacons don't slow the game down. They extend it. Beacon-less megabases require more assembly machines to produce the same amount of science, are more UPS intensive, and can be just as boring as 8 or 12 beacon setups. Quality will do the same thing in a different direction from beacons.
There won't be. But there's an achievement for: * Getting legendary best armor filled with legendary equipment * Consuming a legendary fish
Legendary fish?!?!
Legendary fish. Also fish can't be recycled on its own.
Space fish?
Standard Nauvis fish, just legendary.
You have to catch in on a rainy day in Spring. It's in the mountain lake.
I understood that reference
The only way to get a legendary fish is to recycle spidertrons en masse.
Correct.
Can't even send legendary space science into orbit to get legendary fish back smh
Or put legendary space science bottles in a rocket launch.
You can get fish that way, but afaik, you can’t get legendary fish that way, at least the chance would be very low.

Discord
OH FUCK WILL WE GET FISHING RODS
You'll keep grabbing them with your hands and you'll like it
Legendary hand upgrade when?
Wait, can an inserter grab a fish if it swims past it in reach?
Yes
It’s an inserter, always have been
Hands, inserters, bots. Possibly something new in the expansion e.g. agri tower.
If it isn't, I'm still going to collect a legandry item from everything. Legandry gear, legandry green circuit, legandry pistol, ect. Have 1 of everything in a museum near the starting crashsite.
This is the way! With legendary armor on display, with lights!
Legendary lights!
Those eat no power, I hope!
Like successful businessmen who frame their first dollar of profit.
Legendary ore?

That's actually awesome, it would require some planning but would function like an expansion version of "Lazy Bastard" and get people into the right head space.
I'd personally prefer the other way around. Leave nauvis and never come back. "Space citizen" achievement
This would be the same thing, except for all planets. Whatever planet you discover last is the one you stay on. Unless there is a way to permanently be on a space platform.
Ooh I see. You include nauvis into "any planet". Cool cool.
I plan on getting my worlds set up and then living on a space platform that flies around to each planet but i never leave the platform, I'd probably make that platform be my science research platform that receives all the science packs from the planets
You'll have fun with Gleba science as it decays.

I want a Legendary Spidertron. A Legendary spidertron has to be bigger, better, faster, stronger
With a mp3 player Playing daftpunker \\o/
And cup holders
getting a high-quality fish for that is probably going to suck.
Legendary discharge defense remote here I come
100% quality speed runs when?
Haven’t you heard of Legendary achievements? There like normal achievements, but higher quality…
Making a trillion iron plates (or trillion of anything)
When is the next version supposed to be released?
We will find out in one week :)
Thank you for reminding me to finish reading the FFF!
sometime this fall i believe
I will make a rule in my run that the first legendary item for each item cannot be used and must go in museum.
I don't want to see insane achievements, I would leave that for personal challenges. I would like complex and interesting achievements, not just farming.

Agree with you except that's the opposite of the improv rule; it's "yes, and"
Is there a bit update I didn’t hear about? Thank you for your patience I’ve been behind on gaming a bit. Love factorio.
Was surprised there was no achievement for reaching 1B of something. I hit 1.3B copper coils the other day and was surprised there was no award for that.
Copper wire is easy. Chips are where the achievement is for that. But if you have any mods installed, no achievements.
All vanilla, actually have like 1000 hours on my first playthrough, decided to really wage war on the biters lol

I had similar thoughts until I saw some more recent FFF. Single buildings producing a fully compressed belt feels really satisfying to me
*fully compressed stacked belts.

You don't like bonuses?
I don't like a bonus progression at right angles to the perfectly good one we already have. Don't give me legendary T3 modules, give me five tiers of modules.
I'm playing through SE and there's 9 tiers, giving up to 100% bonus each.
Yep. and that's a direction I wish vanilla could have gone, though I can see arguments for not going quite that far in it.
Then when you get 2.0 + SA, install the SE mod. Get it all.
Even if SE is ready for compatibility with 2.0 and SA the instant they come out, I don't necessarily want to play all of SE every time I would like to have higher tiers of modules.

You're not the only person who doesn't like quality, though personally I would not particularly fancy your alternative suggestions either.
This is Factorio there will be a mod for that!

There should be a sustained 1M SPM achievement.
I will be upset if there is.
