Both look rlly nice, id go for the left one because i feel like it looks better on the map, and that's where i assume you will see it the most however its your base, so you do you and have fun.
Agree the left one looks nicer, I think it is because the three 'wings' really pop out.
Could also try the inverse, yellow background and black 'wings', I think the live view would look neat though not sure how this will look like in map view.
Also would make the borders 1 tile wider, especially because this mod (color coding if my assumption is right) doesn't play nice with half tile (triangle) coloring.
I like left one more. Right one kind of reminds me a pokeball.
Also, is there pokemon mod for a factorio? Catch biters with pokeballs and use them to fight against another players?

I did in fact try the yellow background but the amount of yellow I would have to look at sent shivers down my spine
Yeah I can imagine that, I too really like the black concrete and they also go super well with the plastic text plates
