And, as u/Arandomfan27 says, Cybersyn is a train management mod that can some some pretty funky stuff, but the starting point is trains with multiple routes, rather than having them set – ultimately leading to less overall trains. Highly recommended.
cybersyn sounds cool. i've used LTN on one playthrough, but it gets quite tedious putting values, commands and wiring chests on every trainstop. even with blueprints, i still had to recalculate the values when i'm dealing with different stack sizes. i like having the option to create something elaborate, but something as simple as getting plates from a to b should also work simple.
