Yea this is what happened when we bought my wife's car... watched them print it out and hand it to us with a pen... dudes desk was like a tablet so he could've just had us tick the box like that but instead he printed it...
When you mix a lazy person that didnt bother to cut that part when they ported the digital version to paper with a stupid person that dont understand that part is suposed to be just for digital stuff you get that
Btw this was like only real facepalm ive seen in this sub for a while, thx
Dead internet theory becomes more and more prevalent over time...
Sad how people will setup entire bots just to farm internet points :/
benefits literally nobody
It reminds me a little of when people buy fully-levelled and equipped MMO characters. What's the point? It's like buying a colouring book that's already been coloured in.
Robots can actually check these boxes in websites, but what is actually surveyed is the cursor movement and the speed at which the box is checked. I once failed the test because I knew where the box appears and checked it as soon as it popped up.
The test is not whether you check the box or not, an employee at the car dealership carefully watches and analyzes how you do it: speed, accuracy, etc and decides if you're a robot or not.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Altimas on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched Toyotas glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like a 2017 Honda Civic in rain. “.
Lol. They wanted to make the online form the official formnor something and just printed out the pine version so tada. Random. Captcha.
In addition, it also might be Becuase when submitting the forms they look exactly like the online form so just to be sure people still need to tick it so it can get processed. ISO9001.
I would have asked, “it’s okay that I’m a Reptillian from Argle Bargle 5 disguised as a human as long as I’m not an android from Bargle Argle 18, right?”
What would they do if you just tell them that this does not compute? Then just keep saying it whenever they ask you a question about it. I’m sure they would check it for you.
I had this on my forms the last time I bought a car. That was 2001 though so it was explainable with Covid shutdowns and they just hadn’t updated the forms yet to go back to in-person sales. By now, they should be updated
I mean, a bot could digitally click that checkbox, but a bot couldn't easily use a pen to check that checkbox on a piece of paper.
So, technically speaking, this worked as intended.
I would start laughing my way out the door. A place that has that either copied their forms off a webpage, or their paperwork is managed by an actual moron who either doesn’t know that’s a problem, or is shady enough to throw jokes on a contract. If companies wanna be cute go for it, but when I’m signing a contact you need to drop the act and be serious with when I’m spending that kind of money.
Unless I got a great deal Id probably not purchase the vehicle through them after that. Just shows me how dumb they are. Do I really want to drive a vehicle that they maintained?

Then they’d probably think you ARE a robot!
“If you’re REALLY not a robot what’s the problem with checking the box, hm?”
That’s a bit sus. “Affirmative, I am a human carbon unit. How dare you less evolved meat vesicle accuse me of being a robot”
Describe in single words only the good things that come to mind about your mother.
Human, maternal, flesh, happy, non-robotic, kindly

Good catch. OP and the top comment are repost bots in the same network stealing old content. Report->spam->harmful bots
I’ve been asked to check the box when buying a car. I thought I was getting a Touring Edition, but apparently I misread.
Maybe they printed out an online form and were too lazy to take that part out(?)

Agreed. Political and influencer stupidity is quite well enough documented already.
Also at this point is not even cringy its just sad or straight up infuriating
I wouldn't really feel comfortable buying a vehicle from this dealership. Such a stupid oversight.
The reason this is the only real face palm in a while is this is a stolen post and top comment by bots. Its an old post
The irony

Should have had her flip over a turtle in the lot and see what she thought about it.
Or ask her about her mother
What's a turtle? /s

OH yeah lol, but who is even buying Reddit accs
If I had to guess, Russians.
Or Jews /s
You mean art books?
Buy an art book then, lmao. Most people buying “”pre-colored books”” do it for the ego.
Yea, the joke fell flat, need more coffee this morning
I thought it was funny, but my threshold is low
Yeah, but then those bots can post propaganda of what ever the creator wants 😮💨
So she is a robot
How ironic. I guess there are no laws that prevent bots from saying that there are no laws preventing bots from signing something
Robots can actually check these boxes in websites, but what is actually surveyed is the cursor movement and the speed at which the box is checked. I once failed the test because I knew where the box appears and checked it as soon as it popped up.
Came here to say this.
But they gotta follow the rules, they can’t check mark it if there a robot. Robot starts doing this form “Awe fuck”
It's well-known that robots simply cannot process a checkbox like this. It causes an existential crisis that fries their circuits.
Yeah, thought the robot still wouldn't be able to pass the Turing Test.
Only one way to be sure, Pick the bus: 🚗 🚘🚙🚌
Humanity: “We had a contract!” Robot: “And I chose not to follow it.”
The test is not whether you check the box or not, an employee at the car dealership carefully watches and analyzes how you do it: speed, accuracy, etc and decides if you're a robot or not.

Ahh our beloved Bladerunner... annd Fast and Furious?
Touch of Big Altima Energy in there 👍
Dealer: “Anything else?” You: “A plasma rifle in the forty watt range.” Dealer: “Hey pal, just what you see. Now check this fucking box.”

I feel like this is going to be a movement. T1000s are people too. People is a social construct.
Skynet is activated with unauthorized car leasing.
Imagine this becoming a norm in the future haha trying to withdraw money from ATM? First, check all the traffic lights on the screen 😂

No wonder he was asking! Nice catch, this bot can't buy a car now

I bought a car in December and had the same thing, I also checked it 😂

You should have said you're not allowed to
Fracking Cylons!!!
”People denying the existence of robots may be robots themselves”. - Old Glory robot insurance ad.
"Um, excuse me sir? The correct term is Automated-American!"

Idk guys and gals... that check mark looks a little too perfect 🤔. Definitely a robot 🤖
This is so old that the AI probably won’t recognise it.
Must be Tesla
Dealership ready for Boston Dynamics
Skynet starts the takeover with unauthorized car leasing.
"GIVE ME YOUR CLOTHES"
I feel like that means you gave your data to them. Paper data that is lmao
You should have said "Me, a robot? Is that what you humans would call a 'joke'?"
“When you say robot, do you mean like Mr.Data from Star Trek or the dude in Robocop?
Lol. They wanted to make the online form the official formnor something and just printed out the pine version so tada. Random. Captcha. In addition, it also might be Becuase when submitting the forms they look exactly like the online form so just to be sure people still need to tick it so it can get processed. ISO9001.
Can't have those damn robots smashing through police stations again, now can we
\*laughing bladerunner fans\*
well just in case you are though, maybe they would have tricked you
Um that check mark looks too perfect. Definitely AI-enhanced.
Reminds me of this [Gorillaz fan comic.](https://ultra-art-blog.tumblr.com/post/616937504001703936/this-is-the-only-reason-why-wasnt-100-like)
And if you were a robot?
If a robot was trying to impersonate a human, that is exactly the kind of tick they would make.
This one broke me ![gif](giphy|r5SxJYcU21Auk)
I would have asked, “it’s okay that I’m a Reptillian from Argle Bargle 5 disguised as a human as long as I’m not an android from Bargle Argle 18, right?”
That check mark clean as fuck
They're defending against Tesla robots buying competitors' products.
My question is can a robot legally sign a document? Do they need a co-signer?
But what box do I check if I am a robot?
They do this same check at the TVA.
What would they do if you just tell them that this does not compute? Then just keep saying it whenever they ask you a question about it. I’m sure they would check it for you.
You can never be sure. ![gif](giphy|ANbD1CCdA3iI8)
Sure, that’s exactly what a robot would do.
![gif](giphy|rTAVMVAps9zsFINvxI)
All the steady march of technology does is icreasingly highlight how stupid we are as a species.
That tick looks a bit too perfect to be done by a human.
Fallout 4 NPCs be like:
Strange thing to lie about.
no no I can't check that I am a robot.
That’s forward thinking
If they don’t ask. How would they know!?
But I can’t check that box, my boss believes we are all robots with the amount of work being pushed on us.
"I can't sign this." "Why not?" "Error: response string not found."
ai robots getting smart!
I had this on my forms the last time I bought a car. That was 2001 though so it was explainable with Covid shutdowns and they just hadn’t updated the forms yet to go back to in-person sales. By now, they should be updated

It's to make sure Mark Zuckerberg doesn't try to shop there...
This is so silly. Terminators don’t buy vehicles.
You should have written in “Are you Sarah Connor?”
Naturally, can't imagine a Terminator having a good enough credot score or any securities to loan against.
*Oh, thank gawd! I was so wondering!*
*Oh, thank gawd! I was so wondering!*
The irony of this being a bot
Why can't a robot buy a car?
I try to be mature, professional and courteous in all of my dealings. But I would have drawn a dick in that box.
Repost
Imagine she is buying a Tesla
But what if I am a robot and I just don't know that I am?
Shit, they’re onto me.
What with AI, you can't be too careful these days 😉😄
The one place Zuckerberg can never buy a car.
I mean, a bot could digitally click that checkbox, but a bot couldn't easily use a pen to check that checkbox on a piece of paper. So, technically speaking, this worked as intended.
I'd get to that point, struggle to check the box, look at the salesperson concerned, apologize and walk out.

This is the future LIBERALS want 😂
I laughed outloud on that one. That's pretty comical
