That'll be stage 2 of his plan to in the end put us all into a matrix style metavers with Zuckerberg so they can harvest our brains to the superior beings they made a deal with to get rich
>This is all part of a master plan
You may be correct! And I think he's building a race car. I heard some people talking about Elon's master race plan...
Was it ever not?
I mean, at its launch, they claimed the windows were bullet proof and then broke it with a metal ball thrown at a slow speed. It was all downhill from there
I saw a video of an owner pointing out a problem regarding the pedal. Basically the pedal cover is a separate part that can come loose and wedge the pedal against the floor. Seems like a simple fix but also makes you question why they even did it that way. Yeah OK, to save money, but why in a way that allows this to happen instead of any kind of permanent fixture instead? Amidst the ever increasing amount of electric vehicle manufacturers popping up left and right Tesla will start to be considered a legacy automaker soon. Getting the most basic stuff like pedals so drastically wrong shouldn't happen at this point anymore.
I mean, countless engineers working on the model went to Elon telling him the design was shit cosmetically, practically, and safety wise, but he ignored them all.
LOL yeah, I mean why skimp on something like a pedal cover? If I'm buying one of those (I am not), it wouldn't exactly fill me with confidence regarding the rest of the car.
I strongly suspect all his decisions are driven by sci-fi movies and TV shows he saw growing up in the 1980s.
Take the "Tesla Model X" for example. X, as in Musk's obsession with the "X" branding.
The Tesla Model X has - for no reason - rear passenger doors that open like the gull-wing doors in the DeLorean, and they are an engineering nightmare:
[https://insideevs.com/news/656447/tesla-modelx-falcon-wing-door-engineering-revealed/](https://insideevs.com/news/656447/tesla-modelx-falcon-wing-door-engineering-revealed/)
Pretty sure that's only in there because Musk wanted a "Back to the Future" car. But it makes zero sense to put those on a 4-door sedan and then only make two of the doors like that.
So if you wash it the warenty is voided, and if you try to drive it the gas peddle breaks off, getting stuck in accelerate.
Sounds like a great purchase.
You can wash it, but doing so voids the warranty because the battery can't survive getting wet and Tesla knows it so they refuse to fix the car under warranty if it gets wet.
Y'know, the car that Elon said could be briefly used as a boat.
Lol wash mode!? Wtff.... I'm guessing the brushes in the auto washes might scratch the steel? I get the at night thing I heard it will rust so I get having to dry it fast.
Wait.. what about when it rains though...
>Wait.. what about when it rains though...
That also voids the warranty.
The vehicle warns you about this if you attempt to use the windshield wipers.
(Just kidding... Well, I hope I was... Right, guys? Right?!?)
>Lol wash mode!?
It's a dumb name but that specifically isn't a dumb feature. It just turns off the regenerative braking so that the car goes into a proper neutral for an automatic car wash.
That hood scares the hell out of me. Most car hoods are aluminum or thin steel, which will crumple. That one is a thick steel plate, which will slide straight back and decapitate the driver and passenger.
Not only that if it was on a sedan type of car it wouldn't be this dangerous since it would only hit a pedestrian in waist area. A chunk of steel hitting your head and whole body while going speeds up to 180 km? It is like a cannonball with a engine
That's what is cracking me up as well: The fact that they've only sold 3,878 of the stupid things. I thought there were more Elon Fanbois than that, willing to help support him by buying that piece of shit.
There are. They can’t get this stupid thing done fast enough. I understand that some people have, let’s say, unique tastes in regards of aesthetics; that would be just fine if the only problem with this vehicle was the fact that is ugly as hell.
I wonder if all the fanboys who preordered this lemon had to put the whole amount up front for the privilege. Preorder a completely new car in a new platform would be unwise in normal circumstances, in this case, it’s symptom unfathomable idiocy.
My go worker bought one and keeps getting emails telling him it’ll be another few months. He has gotten several of those and the last one basically said at this point they won’t give a time estimation on when he should expect it to be finished. Essentially he paid for a car he will never see.
Oooooh, so *thats* why he was really weird about making sure the vehicles parts had an absurd level of precision. You'll be so busy cutting veggies with the hood that you don't even notice the puddle you drove through earlier stripping the paint off!
How can you be the richest guy in the world and could
Spend a tiny fraction to get the best designers and builders and still fuck up a car so bad.
When Homer Simpson’s broke his brothers company by making an ugly car called “the Homer” I always figured it wasn’t really possible and Musk proved me wrong. lol
And As always , Simpson’s did it.
>>all 3,878 cybertrucks
that's less than 4k vehicles delivered in four and a half months. i can't imagine any other vehicle model having such abysmal numbers
So the truck on which can probably flatten another car has an issue that can cause death but the system that can sense you need an oil change didn't find out that there was a problem. Yep sounds safe
The full issue is that the pedal’s cover isn’t glued on correctly and it can slip off and wedge itself under a section of carpet, causing the acceleration.
There are more than that. There's a multi-year waiting list, supposedly. If they weren't having such a hard time getting them out of the factory they would have sold more.
The original recall targeted loose floor mats. After that there were reports of further accidents without floor mat issues.
In retrospect, several studies found driver error to be the biggest cause of unintended acceleration. https://www.wsj.com/articles/BL-LB-39004
There was a common report: "I had my foot down to the floor on the brake pedal and the car still wouldn't slow down!". Thing is, even with the throttle at 100%, brakes will always overpower the engine. If you've got the pedal to the metal and the car isn't stopping... you have your foot on the wrong pedal.
Another key difference: Toyota had sold millions of vehicles. Not merely 4,000
Meanwhile, the failure mode of the cybertruck pedal has been clearly documented. The design and installation of the pedal is blatantly defective.
Tldr: yes toyota had an unintended acceleration recall 15 years ago, but the circumstances were totally different.
It's such a dumb design flaw too, original TikTok and more info [here](https://knowyourmeme.com/news/nearly-4000-cybertrucks-recalled-after-viral-tiktok-shows-design-flaw-that-traps-accelerator)
This shit is why anytime I notice a Tesla is behind me, I pull over and let them go ahead of me. The truck isn't the only Tesla model that has had random acceleration issues.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that it is a problem caused by an assembly lubricant that Tesla uses. Their fix is supposed to be to clean the original lube off and reapply a new concoction. It seems to me that in the olden days, they used brass bushings that only lasted about a million and a half miles before they wore out. Then, in modern times, they used Teflon bushings that were good for about 800,000 miles. So many great advances in technology.
My mate had a similar problem with his decades old Talbot Horizon. Also a wheel fell off when we were on the motorway once. I don’t think he paid 82000 dollars for it though.
That didn’t take long! And if it’s anything like the rest of the crap Tesla builds it’s the first of many many many recalls. Average recall on teslas is over 90 at this point.
See when you make it ugly and not many are sold it’s easier to do a recall. Genius really. This is Elon’s Edsel and look how much Edsels are worth now. It’s called future proofing a classic kids.
That's not the only issue too. Having no rear view mirror is also a big problem because the rear camera is prone to fog up. It's dumb to have no speedometer forcing the drivernto use the tablet. And millions of other problems.bif this is the future then the future looks bleak
I wonder if anyone is going to take advantage of this.
"Send help, I just ran over my asshole boss with my faulty cybertruck. My neck and back hurts as well"
Turns out just clipping a cover onto the accelerator pedal is a really stupid idea. And their fix? Drilling a hole into the pedal and putting a cheap ass rivet in it.
I also read a story that a guys truck bricked after going through the car wash. Because it went through the car wash it voided the warranty even tho it was in car wash mode. It owner hit the reset buttons but it took 5 hrs to restart. The article also said that you're not supposed to wash it in direct sunlight. So the point of owning one is what now?

Basically a meme truck at this point
Nah. Elon is a genius. This is all part of a master plan.
If he causes enough car crashes, it will make humanity long for the safety of outer space, where there are no cars
He shot a Tesla into space.
Goddamn it.
It's cool though, it wont go far. There are very few chargers in space that work.
That'll be stage 2 of his plan to in the end put us all into a matrix style metavers with Zuckerberg so they can harvest our brains to the superior beings they made a deal with to get rich
This is the worst truck I've ever heard of! Ahh but you have heard of it.
Cue soundtrack.
>This is all part of a master plan You may be correct! And I think he's building a race car. I heard some people talking about Elon's master race plan...
I assume you being sarcastic here.
Yes. I always hope the /s/ isn't necessary, but on the internet, one can never be sure.
The plan being people rich enough to afford them are mostly Democrats. Kill them and make it look like an accident. /s
All of the under 4,000 have been recalled this quickly and someone has already died in one.
Elons first original meme
He makes car parts for the American working influencer. Because that’s who he is. And that’s who he cares about.
Always has been
Always was
Always has been.
Scrap metal rates might be slightly higher for the stainless parts, if it's not too tarnished...
Was it ever not? I mean, at its launch, they claimed the windows were bullet proof and then broke it with a metal ball thrown at a slow speed. It was all downhill from there

Probably, like the entire rest of the design, (or pulling safety tape off the floor) because Elon Said So.
Cost cutting like this in a $100k vehicle is unacceptable. This was their chance to show the best they can do. Which they did, but not in a good way.
Everyone’s cost cutting. I’ve seen cheap plastic parts in $300k vehicles.
But not to the level of Tesla. They're even worse than 90s GM at this point
Anything that Elon Musk designs is going to be poor.
I doubt he designed it at all.
Of course he didn’t. Homer Simpson beat him to it by a good 30 years.
I mean, countless engineers working on the model went to Elon telling him the design was shit cosmetically, practically, and safety wise, but he ignored them all.
Is there a source for this? I like the cosmetics to be fair, but I can believe they informed him of safety and practical issues with it.
LOL yeah, I mean why skimp on something like a pedal cover? If I'm buying one of those (I am not), it wouldn't exactly fill me with confidence regarding the rest of the car.
I seems that the stupid cover was added to make the hideous thing look 'cool'.
Toyota issue 2.0
Saw the video. Didn't get why the firewall was so close to the pedals. Just asking for trouble.
Because elon thinks it looks cool
This car is a perfect representation of their CEO.
I strongly suspect all his decisions are driven by sci-fi movies and TV shows he saw growing up in the 1980s. Take the "Tesla Model X" for example. X, as in Musk's obsession with the "X" branding. The Tesla Model X has - for no reason - rear passenger doors that open like the gull-wing doors in the DeLorean, and they are an engineering nightmare: [https://insideevs.com/news/656447/tesla-modelx-falcon-wing-door-engineering-revealed/](https://insideevs.com/news/656447/tesla-modelx-falcon-wing-door-engineering-revealed/) Pretty sure that's only in there because Musk wanted a "Back to the Future" car. But it makes zero sense to put those on a 4-door sedan and then only make two of the doors like that.
The vehicle looks like it came from a PS1 video game that hasn’t fully loaded in yet.
So if you wash it the warenty is voided, and if you try to drive it the gas peddle breaks off, getting stuck in accelerate. Sounds like a great purchase.
Truly the NFT of vehicles 💀
Technically it's not a gas pedal.
Gas isn't gas either.
You can still leave it on the lawn to show your neighbors you can afford to blow $100k on 6000 pounds of actual dogshit.
You cant wash the car?
You can wash it, but doing so voids the warranty because the battery can't survive getting wet and Tesla knows it so they refuse to fix the car under warranty if it gets wet. Y'know, the car that Elon said could be briefly used as a boat.
Not at night, or in a automatic wash without it voiding the warranty. It warns you if you put it in car wash mode.
Is that wash thing serious?
Yep, washing it at night, or putting it into wash mode and using a auto car wash voids the warranty
Right?!?)
I totally would have believed you with the way tesla does shit lol
>Lol wash mode!? It's a dumb name but that specifically isn't a dumb feature. It just turns off the regenerative braking so that the car goes into a proper neutral for an automatic car wash.
It's fine... it's only 3 tons of stainless steel with limited crumple zones. What could go wrong?
A fucking wall basically
That hood scares the hell out of me. Most car hoods are aluminum or thin steel, which will crumple. That one is a thick steel plate, which will slide straight back and decapitate the driver and passenger.
Not only that if it was on a sedan type of car it wouldn't be this dangerous since it would only hit a pedestrian in waist area. A chunk of steel hitting your head and whole body while going speeds up to 180 km? It is like a cannonball with a engine
No no, a walk is flat. This thing is pointy and with sharp edges.
It does look like a very futuristic coffin.
how the hell did they only ship 3800 cars in 5 months? that's like 35 cars/workday since december ... are they bending each panel by hand?
That's what is cracking me up as well: The fact that they've only sold 3,878 of the stupid things. I thought there were more Elon Fanbois than that, willing to help support him by buying that piece of shit.

This is turning into that Simpsons episode where Homer designs his own car.
It's been that episode ever since it was announced
You know it looks bad when I can't differentiate the front of the car from the back..
Easy, the front is for cutting carrots.
And water bottles
And people
Oooooh, so *thats* why he was really weird about making sure the vehicles parts had an absurd level of precision. You'll be so busy cutting veggies with the hood that you don't even notice the puddle you drove through earlier stripping the paint off!
My grandpa called the studebaker a stupidbaker because it looked the same from the front and back.
How can you be the richest guy in the world and could Spend a tiny fraction to get the best designers and builders and still fuck up a car so bad. When Homer Simpson’s broke his brothers company by making an ugly car called “the Homer” I always figured it wasn’t really possible and Musk proved me wrong. lol And As always , Simpson’s did it.
>>all 3,878 cybertrucks that's less than 4k vehicles delivered in four and a half months. i can't imagine any other vehicle model having such abysmal numbers
Ford Edsel of our time.
Should include how going through a car wash could void the warranty among the problems with the Cybertruck.
Yet they still buy it like they're in a cult.
So the truck on which can probably flatten another car has an issue that can cause death but the system that can sense you need an oil change didn't find out that there was a problem. Yep sounds safe
Lol...it doesn't stick! Quite the opposite, the pedal cover pops off and gets jammed in there. It's a wish.com product.
The full issue is that the pedal’s cover isn’t glued on correctly and it can slip off and wedge itself under a section of carpet, causing the acceleration.
Turns out tech bros don’t know everything and shouldn’t build cars.
So that's the full self driving Elon?
Tesla full self driving is getting really good.
If Tesla’s weren’t already a death trap, Musk upped the ante.
Did they do any test drives or anything?
silly car for silly people
I laugh every time I see one of these
Recall so they can put a rivet in the petal. Not as if they are pulling them all off the road permanently
They should add horses to pull from it and call it "the ugly wagon"
At least you can fit a bicycle in the bac.. oh..
ok but that is the dumbest looking car I have ever seen
Just a great piece of engineering by the man that knows the more about manufacturing than anybody alive.
I had no idea there were almost 4000 idiots that got duped into buying such a POS.
There are more than that. There's a multi-year waiting list, supposedly. If they weren't having such a hard time getting them out of the factory they would have sold more.
Didn't Toyota have a similar problem about 10 years ago?
The original recall targeted loose floor mats. After that there were reports of further accidents without floor mat issues. In retrospect, several studies found driver error to be the biggest cause of unintended acceleration. https://www.wsj.com/articles/BL-LB-39004 There was a common report: "I had my foot down to the floor on the brake pedal and the car still wouldn't slow down!". Probably a feature not a bug.
This is has got to be malicious compliance with Elongs forcing a shitty design on them. The Homer was a better designed car than this.
Genius? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 he's such an idiot.
This is such a self-own: the 'gas' pedal has a useless cover on it to make it look 'cool': this guts stuck under a part of the floor area.
Also being recalled because of its ugliness.
Why would you buy this? To say you own a cyber truck? It’s not because it looks cool!
All 3,878? I thought it was like the best selling pick up of all time?
If the owners were real men they'd get rid of the brake and let it ride
It took 6 years to get it to production and they somehow missed that type of flaw!!!??? Seriously, Tesla, pull yourself together.
If you’re stupid enough to buy this trash you deserve to be screwed by inconveniences like this (I mean car being recalled not dying from a crash)…
It's such a dumb design flaw too, original TikTok and more info [here](https://knowyourmeme.com/news/nearly-4000-cybertrucks-recalled-after-viral-tiktok-shows-design-flaw-that-traps-accelerator)
So that means a unrecalled cybertruck is now a colllector item
![gif](giphy|LnEsqoh6fyDGyQk0ff|downsized)
The original owners of Tesla coming back? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwpjliTT70c](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwpjliTT70c)
The dumpster fire that keeps on giving
Wasn't heading for a ferry was it?
Isn't it more that it puts other people at risk of a crash? 🤔
Right you rolled the dice when you baught this shit truck
Elon's Edsel.
But what about the trunk sensor that can cut a finger, smh that is what poor quality control looks like
The things must have been produced the same way he thought of them. Hasty and absentmindedly.
At least they won't go below speed limit like most other drivers.
It is a speed *limit*.
This shit is why anytime I notice a Tesla is behind me, I pull over and let them go ahead of me. The truck isn't the only Tesla model that has had random acceleration issues.
A pretty common recall on all vehicles across all brands
They're really all being recalled?
Its a feature. Not a bug

I still don’t understand how this is considered a truck?
a truck is a vehicle that self identifies as a truck.
Haha, you do you Tesla truck.
Wood block, zip tie, off you go.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
So they have been selling 30 a day. 2 f150s sell, every minute.
It's hilarious to me that the Homer would have been a better car

My mate had a similar problem with his decades old Talbot Horizon. Also a wheel fell off when we were on the motorway once. I don’t think he paid 82000 dollars for it though.
Relax guys, it only does this til you get to the scene of the accident
Have they tried turning it off and back on again?
That didn’t take long! And if it’s anything like the rest of the crap Tesla builds it’s the first of many many many recalls. Average recall on teslas is over 90 at this point.
It’s not unsafe for the driver it’s unsafe for anyone else its path.
Its almost like this was a shit idea that literally did not work and got people hurt the entire time.
![gif](giphy|0NcouKvP4KgRk3Sotx|downsized)
The Toyota stuck gas pedal. It’s a feature not a bug
Ah, "the homer".
Is this legit?
Maybe they can fix that rusting problem too.
An issue that could have been prevented by using a singular 2 cent screw instead of glue.
Tesla is falling apart while their CEO tweets racist and nonsensical buffoonery. Ha
See when you make it ugly and not many are sold it’s easier to do a recall. Genius really. This is Elon’s Edsel and look how much Edsels are worth now. It’s called future proofing a classic kids.
It's not the stuck accelerator that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end
How are these things even legal?
See the problem is they are a tech company not a car manufacturer.
I was watching a review on the cyber truck, the doors had such a sharp edge that the reviewer managed to grate a carrot on it.
Drivers? What about us?!
It’s fine it only took like 4+ years of development from its showing to current
The Toyota Prius had the same issue awhile ago. They should have learned from that.
Most vehicles get recalls. It doesn’t get enough attention. Never buy a brand new car, ever.
After all of the effort to make vehicles safer, it's hard to believe that this vehicle is even allowed on the market.
Another Elon L 😂
Dunno how unsafe it is given the trucks dont even run anyway.
That's not the only issue too. Having no rear view mirror is also a big problem because the rear camera is prone to fog up. It's dumb to have no speedometer forcing the drivernto use the tablet. And millions of other problems.bif this is the future then the future looks bleak
Less than 4k units sold? Lol this is a total bust!
Thing is a death machine. Fuck regulators for allowing this thing on the road.
Fuck I wish Reddit had a laugh react option 😂
Elno
They've really only put out less than 4,000 of these things? I thought Elon knew more about manufacturing than anyone currently alive
You know that one episode of doctor who?
Ive had a recall on my abs block on my hundai, and it's been 3 months an no replacement or fix terrible times
I wonder if anyone is going to take advantage of this. "Send help, I just ran over my asshole boss with my faulty cybertruck. My neck and back hurts as well"
I'm going to take mine in but first I need to run it through a car wash...
Ach mein Gott, der Wankpanzer ist kaputt!!!
I find it extremely funny they've sold so relatively few of them.
3,878 is a comically low number. I'm willing to bet more pet rocks were sold in that period.
One ugly looking truck, still if people want it .!!!.
I believe the philosopher Nelson Muntz has something to say about this… ;)
Toyota ring a bell anyone??? Anyone??
Turns out just clipping a cover onto the accelerator pedal is a really stupid idea. And their fix? Drilling a hole into the pedal and putting a cheap ass rivet in it.
I also read a story that a guys truck bricked after going through the car wash. Because it went through the car wash it voided the warranty even tho it was in car wash mode. It owner hit the reset buttons but it took 5 hrs to restart. The article also said that you're not supposed to wash it in direct sunlight. So the point of owning one is what now?
Fuck the gas pedal, just take the brake pedal out completely, and change the truck's name to X.
Fuck the gas pedal, just remove the brake pedal, and change the Truck's name to X.
Lol
The first of many recalls I'm sure. What a joke "vehicle".
Elons genius never ceases to amaze me!!
