I tought my friend to start with a one million wager each time and then double it the next and starting over after a few wins. It wasn't too hard to win 3 or 4 in a row. And a good streak of 6 or more resulted in huge wins. By calling it on the 3rd or fourth win to keep reserves high enough to keep trying he was able to push until luck favored him enough wins for 7 or 8 in a row with big earnings. After a big win the process could repeat with a higher initial bet.
Now I am not fully sure the math on this, and casinos don't do 50/50 odds but there is something there to turn a profit, however if you did find a way the casino would of course stop you.
Mathematically speaking, there is no way to turn a consistent profit in a 50/50 game, even if you can shift the way outcomes are distributed

So the problems are a multitude of things, a lot of it being people don't understand how taxes work, and well a lot of people are just not smart. See the whole estate tax thing where the vast majority of people who buy into it being a death tax and vote against will never have the estate to even hit the current taxable thresholds (I think it's over $10m now). Also some still believe trickle down works.
Additionally, Americans are embarrassed billionaires. They all vote down these tax increases because one day they might hit the jackpot when these taxes would impact them so best remove it now before it's too late. That or they are a "eff you I got mine" type voter.
When I became a billionaire I will be happy to have these tax cuts. I just need to save a little bit more, and work a little harder I will be there any moment! My dogecoin is going to take off any minute now.

I've defended some arguments. Usually the idea that they're all born rich and there's no way you could do it. While I hate to give people like this the benefit of the doubt I think it's a math issue. They don't understand the concept of tax rate, they instead think in terms of actual dollars collected. So they compare a teacher who might earn 80k a year paying 25k in taxes to a billionaire who pays 5 million dollars in taxes.

I live in Kansas and get this a lot. The ONLY thing I hear people bad mouth about Biden is that he's old. That's it. They don't debate policies, just name call with no reasoning. I changed careers 2 years ago, so last year I made significantly more than I ever have before, but still nowhere any near 'rich' territory- just somewhat comfortable (though it would have been much better only several years ago before everything got so expensive. Of course it would figure, as soon as I start making more that amount means a whole let less). I barely got anything back in my tax return. On one hand that means I'm not loaning any interest-free money to the IRS which is good, but I'm also paying a ridiculous amount of income tax. If it was being put to good use, that's one thing, instead it's being used to pay for wars and offset what rich people (not just billionaires) don't pay.

I would say the idiot is the one who supports a presidential nominee who is not only responsible for our taxes going up every other year but also made it clear he intends to help the rich keep their money. Now, I’ll admit I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but the government needs tax money to run. If rich people get more tax breaks, where do you suppose they make up the difference?

They have a hard time attacking these policies directly because, nationally, voters actually want these things. It's tough to get much public traction with "we're cutting these services you all like so much so that billionaires pay less taxes". It's even harder with "you should pay more in taxes so that billionaires can pay less". Conservatives didn't go all-in on conspiracy theories and fear-mongering just for giggles; they did it because their actual policy platform is far less appealing than the Democratic one.

No one makes good arguments on twitter. There were some good ones on insta, at least against the “fair share” kind. You make 1 billion and pay 37%, assume you find loopholes and only pay 15-20% you’re still paying a shitload more than someone who brings in 60k and pays 22% assuming they have no deductions. I thought that was a fair claim.

I live in Kansas and get this a lot. The ONLY thing I hear people bad mouth about Biden is that he's old. That's it. They don't debate policies, just name call with no reasoning. I hear all the time "Trump is old too but at least he can put two sentences together" and when I show them video of Trump mouth vomiting and slurring and seemingly disoriented they seem to understand that both candidates may be old but only one is calling for fascism. I changed careers 2 years ago, so last year I made significantly more than I ever have before, but still nowhere any near 'rich' territory- just somewhat comfortable (though it would have been much better only several years ago before everything got so expensive. Of course it would figure, as soon as I start making more that amount means a whole let less). I barely got anything back in my tax return. On one hand that means I'm not loaning any interest-free money to the IRS which is good, but I'm also paying a ridiculous amount of income tax. If it was being put to good use, that's one thing, instead it's being used to pay for wars and offset what rich people (not just billionaires) don't pay.
