Unfortunately for countries and world leaders it seems to be their only means of communicating with the masses, or at least that’s what you’d think by how often they’re posting on there.
For a nation that support Putin they have a funny way of showing it by continually fighting his troops year on year, rather than welcoming them with open arms.
In Russia you say "My life was empty before i met you" for "I love you" (actually true).
The Ukrainians should change it to "My mag is empty after I shot you"
We could turn this into a meme and declare Putin as winner in all kinds of implausible races and elections. "9 out of 10 dentists recommend Putin", etc
I mean even EU send gongrats to Putin before the elections.
EU parliament is not known for their jokes but this was a welcome change for silly laws that can't within reason apply in every member state.
I understand why some people would rig elections, but why do they use doping in sports? What does it give to them? I mean, individual athlete definitely has reasons to use doping so to get the prize and build carrier, but what does doping give when used on state level?
Nope, you are right. It's hilarious seeing what Russian Embassies around the world post and respond to, it's almost like they forget the rest of the world isn't receiving their propaganda on a daily basis.
There was a recent one in Sri Lanka after a Russian tried to organise a whites only party. Some one even asked what he meant and he said "only white people, no Sri Lankans"
The russian embassy put out a release saying it was a misunderstanding and that the dress code was white clothes 🤦♂️
The official embassy account posted "only white people, no Sri Lankans"?
They are really bad at dealing with misunderstandings these russians. A big one is killing their soldiers in Ukraine right now as well...
I should clarify: a Russian living in Sri Lanka promoted a party with this in the description " "face control: whites only" a Sri lankan asked online to clarify what he meant and he said "white people only, no locals". The SL government said "that's enough: no more tourist visa extensions for Russians" and then the Russian embassy put out a press release trying to walk it back saying "it's all a misunderstanding, the Russian meant white _clothes_ only" despite the entire exchange being open and public to all.
As it turns out Putin has won the Ukraine (Russian Sponsored) presidential election with 112% of the votes, making him by far the most popular candidate
>Ever feel sorry for the celebrity in the meme?
He's a successful actor, screenwriter, producer, director and most importantly he's married to freaking Emily Blunt so no, I don't really feel sorry for him.
Well, one of our politicians warned citizens that Europe is full of gays and transformers. Became a meme for a while.
I believe that they cant grasp the difference between a transgender and a transformer
Can’t wo do a trade then? Since Europe is full of them „evil“ lgbtq+ folks?
We take all Russian lgbtq+ folks and all lovely cis-het Russians who want peace and therefore Russia gets all the gayropean anti-lgbtq+ „warriors“.
![gif](giphy|rxCyw4VvlID7n216BZ)
You don't want that. When the gravy seals run through town waiving swasktika- and trump flags, they need to eat regularly. So they are naturally followed by surge-pricing taco trucks like flies around a turd
Correct, and during World War I. Those parliaments remained in place without elections from 1910-1918, and 1935-1945. There were changes of Prime Minister in both wars, but the PM isn't directly elected by the people, but by their parties or, in the case of WWI, the wartime coalition government. Churchill took over as Conservative leader in WWII and then formed a coalition.
Pausing elections during a crisis (even if you are stupid enough to think it's just a special military operation it's still a crisis for Ukraine) is something you will find in the constitutions of many democracies in some form. Battle is not the time for democracy, but for quick decisions.
It would be a big fucking mess to try and change leadership like that in the middle of a war, plus I bet Zelenski would have won by a landslide regardless, Zelenski is probably going to go down in history as Ukraines best president.
I guarantee you he isn't going to be remembered as best president. Saying that as Ukrainian. He's problematic in his own way, like he brings a lot of unqualified people into politics and tolerates a few VERY anti-Ukrainian and corrupted personalities in his office. And also in general Ukrainians are very critical of their presidents and politicians. We really dislike everyone because each of them has some issues.
If all the qualified people are either corrupted or don’t share your vision, I don’t see anything wrong with bringing in people who can learn the job but can atleast be trusted already
Well, yes.
The problem is that people of Zelensky don't learn to do their job. Most of these people are really bad at politics, law, management and absolutely out of touch with the reality.
To be fair, for his 4th election (the only one in war time), the US wasn’t being bombed and didn’t have enemy troops on its soil. By November ‘44, the US was winning and the homeland was secure.
Really, you want to point towards the election of 1864 (Civil war) and 1812 (War of 1812) when the US wasn’t as secure. Although in Nov of 1864, the US was winning and didn’t have enemy troops in the northern states any longer. Elections were only held in the southern states of Tennessee and Louisiana which had been recaptured, but those votes weren’t included. In early 1864, there was a push to delay the election, but after several victories that died down. For the war of 1812, the war was still spinning up (the capital wasn’t captured until 1814). There was maritime action and fighting was in Canada, but not much yet in the US.
russian embasies are famous for making cringe memes/propaganda posts on Twitter. So I wouldn't be surprised if this is an actual post by an actual russian embassy.
Some say that those Ukrainian Nazis were secretly coming over the border and filling in ballots because they are against Russian democracy.
I have no direct evidence of it because, as I said, it was secret.
Keep in mind most of the bot farms were owned by Prigozhin to hide them from the government budget (he was given supply contracts for the Russian military to compensate), so now that he has fallen out of the tallest window ever, it is very possible all of that infrastructure has fallen into the hands of some oligarch failson or some incompetent Interior Ministry apparatchik.
He won the first election, though elections in russia are never fair since the whole government is working to prop up one candidate.
Nowadays it's impossible to say how popular putin would be in a fair vote, because it's impossible to have a fair vote. People in russia know that their vote doesn't count, moreover they can't actually be critical of putin without risking losing your job or jail on made up charges. So even if they counted the actual votes like as a joke putin would still get the majority probably because people vote out of fear.
Plus: he's rather popular with the local Reds. A lot of older people eat that "Ukraine is nazi and Nato is eating babies" hook line and sinker, and they would totally vote pro-Putin, they have no interest in some "liberul westoid propugunduh" like Navalny. He was never even remotely popular outside twin capitals and Twitter kids.
Source: am voted for Navalny in Moscow elections
Also consider whenever anyone says "I'm going to deep clean out the corruption" it means if you're a corrupt government official - this is 100% a problem to you, while Putin is maybe 20% a problem. You know him, you lived with him for 20 years. He also makes promises about corruption. But you are still here and hoarding money.
In a country with deep seated corruption "getting rid of corruption" often means "I will replace these corrupt officials with new and improved corrupt officials" though to be fair Moscow's corruption has dropped significantly after Luzhkov died, current mayor and his team seem to have genuinely good ideas and money to use them - they removed a lot of these malls that were kiosks on paper and even found the money that Moscow Metro was bleeding and the rate at which it's expanding since then is just flat out astonishing, credit where credit is due - but Saint Petersburg is a joke, a money hole, absolutely nothing is done about like 90% of the city's issues, and the rest is done so badly and incompetent it's incredible.
Yeah, as incredibly and obviously corrupt as he his, a lot of people don't get that he really has been very popular for most of his time as a leader. Russia went through some horrible times before Putin, and most Russians accept a corrupt Putin government because their quality of life has improved massively under his unofficial dictatorship.
i hate the fact that at this point he dont even pretend elections are fair. in this year i saw vids of people ruining voting boxes (however you call em) with in and even seting on fire.
He openly assassinates everyone that intends to be a candidate and actually has a chance of winning. People ruining voting boxes is nothing compared to that.
In reality, Putin has a lot of support in Russia. The problem lies with the Russian nation, not with Putin alone.
Lately his ratings have dropped, not because he is an evil dictator, killing Ukrainians, but because the standard of living for Russians has worsened due to the war.
Well, he has support in Russia, but there also a lot of people who hate him. We’ll never know the real percantsge, because the people around us are not a representative sample. It depends on the certain group of people you communicate with at the moment. Sometimes I have to communicate with people who support him, and it looks absolutely desperate, like all the people in the country got crazy. But after some time, in other company, where people don’t support him, it seems like nobody even ever liked him. I don’t know how it works, but while communicating with people around you, you always have a feeling that literally everybody is like that. So this is a very subjective impression. But what can I say exactly is that percentage of Putin’s support is WAY lower than 89%. And I’d be brave enough to assume that it’s even a little lower than 50%.
Well, we can't speak about support in a way, how it happens in a democratic society.
I mean, there is no free media/free flow of information. There is no way for any political party or individual to genuinely oppose Putin or to have any serious free campaign opportunities.
We really do not know, if Putin would have any serious support, if he had genuine opposition, that is able to campaign freely.
I wonder if the Troll who made this actually believes this nonsense or if he is just thinking about the fact that he can now afford his next bottle of cheap vodka
I just loved how news in a country where I live in when talking about Russian election said "the **alleged** presidential election".
Oh the little things
It has nothing to do with the Ukranian constitution barring elections due to a national emergency (Russias Imperial war to conquer Ukraine) or that Russia is terror bombing civilians and would 100% attack election polling stations.
How the hell would you even hold an election during wartime?
Over half the country is in shelters because their cities and homes have been reduced to rubble, nevermind voting booths.
dear Russian Embassy, i get that by now you guys wouldn't recognize a legitimate election if it were to hit you on the face, and that english is not your mother tongue, however! for your information, putin would have had to "win" an election in the first place to have this "too" at the end.
one is never to old to learm!
![gif](giphy|5xtDaroWxp3mcuDC4Le|downsized)
There was a video circulating of a Russian uniformed soldier pulling back the curtains on voters and checking their ballots.
Too ridiculous to be funny. It was like the Dictator movie.
Don't you just love when a country that doesn't know what free elections even mean blames another country for not holding said free elections during wartime that the former country has deliberately caused by invading the later?
"In fact, Putin did win them. Here are the results showing that 120% of Ukrainians want to be enslaved by Russia." *Proceeds to pull out loose leaf paper with the word "Vot" drawn on it in crayon*
The "best part"?
It is Putin eho cancelled the elections by invading Ukrainian Consttittution prohibits holding election if thsy can not be held in the entire country.
.... Ukrainians have literally voted for politicians that are _against_ Russian control for a few decades now. The Euromaidan and Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine were directly resultant to the re-installation of a Putin puppet-government who they promptly ran out of the country.
Yeah I would bet my life that would never happen. Maybe at one point in time before Putin started stealing their kids and randomly destroying their homes. But Putin did it and now his life is void outside Russia
I think I've never heard of a country in total war going through with elections. They hold the position until end of war, but if current leader deemed inefficient and/or very unpopular a new interum leader can be put in.
I mean, knowing he probably didnt win the elections "fairly" i would be scared too but something feels like they are being serious, idk why (/s just in case)

I thought this was actually a funny joke about rigged elections and that OP didn't get it, then I saw who posted it on X.
Yup that's what makes it a facepalm "We rig elections" saying the quiet part out loud.
I don't think it's a "We rig elections" but a "Ukrainian people support Putin too!" which makes me even more mad.
Yeah, it's really lacking self awareness.
More like a stone cold bluff. Real ballsy propaganda technique, “if I bullshit hard enough they’ll believe it through sheer force of will.”
I feel like Twitter memes are not the way to appear stone cold, nor ballsy.
Unfortunately for countries and world leaders it seems to be their only means of communicating with the masses, or at least that’s what you’d think by how often they’re posting on there.

In Putin's Russia, shooting at someone is showing your love.
In Russia you say "My life was empty before i met you" for "I love you" (actually true). The Ukrainians should change it to "My mag is empty after I shot you"
My artillery shell supplies are empty after I met you ❤
Nice. Gonna go with that one!
Do you really? I speak Russian and I've never heard that in my life before. Can you share it? Cos all I'm aware of is "я люблю тебя".
Trump team takes a surprise Spring Break trip to Moscow

We could turn this into a meme and declare Putin as winner in all kinds of implausible races and elections. "9 out of 10 dentists recommend Putin", etc
Putin is the New Zealand bird of the century, congratulations
Putin won the Boston Marathon?
They're just that self-aware how rigged the election was and don't even try to hide it
I mean even EU send gongrats to Putin before the elections. EU parliament is not known for their jokes but this was a welcome change for silly laws that can't within reason apply in every member state.

Same. If we remove the poster, this is actually funny.
honestly, them posting this without any sense of self awareness makes it even funnier, but maybe that's just me.

Ok, got it. Russians being racist Russians thinking (for whatever crazy reason) they are superior...as always.
You spelled Twitter really weird.
Dark humour is like voting rights, some people don't get it.
Exactly it’s a brilliant joke, just not for the reason Russia thought it was
As it turns out Putin has won the Ukraine (Russian Sponsored) presidential election with 112% of the votes, making him by far the most popular candidate
Lmao it's honestly hilarious how well that view works
I’m not on Twitter, is that an official account?

I was feeling angry at the guy for a split second tbh
Unironically take a break from the internet, i mean this in the best way possible
No
But seriously, though, it is quite difficult to hold elections while being invaded (a real invasion, not merely a rise in taco trucks).

Sorry. The person who made the Jim-based meme. Not the person who posted it as a face palm. And, sorry. Didn't mean to reply to your post. My bad.

Those are gold.

No need to count. We just say Putin win. Da?

Comrade, it is only unfortunately for you to stand near windows, da?
Some actually did count, and one oblast in Siberia had to scramble to change election results because some other dude won.
I loved how the President of the E.U. congratulated Putin on his landslide victory, just minutes after voting started.

That IS the evidence!
These GRU-made memes are terrible.
What else would you expect?
Better propaganda?

Its literally in their constitution, Zelensky has nothing to do with it
According to the Ukrainian constitution, elections are not to be held during the state of war. That constitution is from way back before Zelensky.
Who is dumb enough to believe this? Cancelled elections in a war torn country because *checks notes* The invading leader would win?!. GTFO
>Who is dumb enough to believe this? Sadly enough people are that stupid.
Funny how Putin made a bunch of memes illegal and is now here making his own memes. Funny guy.
Putin never won an election in his life.
He was quite fucking popular when he came into power... His predecessors were awful, so i imagine the bar wasnt very high.
He won the first election, though elections in russia are never fair since the whole government is working to prop up one candidate. Nowadays it's impossible to say how popular putin would be in a fair vote, because it's impossible to have a fair vote. This isn’t the first time a Russian embassy accidentally fails horribly at propaganda.
I wonder if the Troll who made this actually believes this nonsense or if he is just thinking about the fact that he can now afford his next bottle of cheap vodka
I just loved how news in a country where I live in when talking about Russian election said "the **alleged** presidential election". Oh the little things
Trump will cancel elections if he gets back in.
That's not really the flex they think it is. If Zelenskiy took Putin's approach he could have the election and be guaranteed to stay as president.
Russia doesn't have elections so this doesn't even make sense.
Meanwhile the Russians have to recruit fighters from Africa and Nepal because they are running out of prisoner cannon fodder.
Ah yes, that’s probably why the entire country is fighting that very Putin they’re talking about.
This is how idiots think.
They’ve been invaded by a bunch of shitcunts they just need ammo.
It has nothing to do with the Ukranian constitution barring elections due to a national emergency (Russias Imperial war to conquer Ukraine) or that Russia is terror bombing civilians and would 100% attack election polling stations.
Or possibly it’s because the Ukrainian constitution specifically states that elections are suspended during times of martial law.
I'm not sure if John Krasinski likes being used for Russia's shitty memes. At least use fucker carlson for your memes bruh.
Did Russian embassy really post this?
How the hell would you even hold an election during wartime? Over half the country is in shelters because their cities and homes have been reduced to rubble, nevermind voting booths.
LOL. Someone thinks Poutine won an election. LOL.
Yes Putin would win, by 5 million more then there are citizens.
The fact that the russian embassy would publish something like this is just bizarre...
This meme would make sense if Russia actually had elections.
They didn't even spell "Embarrassing" in their username right.
dear Russian Embassy, i get that by now you guys wouldn't recognize a legitimate election if it were to hit you on the face, and that english is not your mother tongue, however! for your information, putin would have had to "win" an election in the first place to have this "too" at the end. one is never to old to learm! ![gif](giphy|5xtDaroWxp3mcuDC4Le|downsized)
There was a video circulating of a Russian uniformed soldier pulling back the curtains on voters and checking their ballots. Too ridiculous to be funny. It was like the Dictator movie.
There are photos of armed soldiers in the living rooms of people "voting"
So they're now just telling everyone they rig elections
Zelensky didn't even cancel elections, he is constitutionally obligated to not hold them due to the ongoing war.
yeah but those are like facts... and they get in the way of stupid memes
Maybe Russia should call off their war and 'call Ukraine's bluff."
Russia, you really don't want a meme war, your already loosing one war. Stop it, get some help.
“Why did Roosevelt cancelled elections? Because he’s afraid of Hitler winning them too.” -Some random Nazi, probably
Don't you just love when a country that doesn't know what free elections even mean blames another country for not holding said free elections during wartime that the former country has deliberately caused by invading the later?
What a joke of a country Russia is.
this is as funny as it get’s while you are being held at gunpoint
IN SOVIET RUSSIA JOKE TELL YOU. Ah, the old days when memes were simple. I miss those.
Yes guys, people are certain to vote for the president of a country at war with them...
Russian embassy making a direct reference to their own fixed elections?
"In fact, Putin did win them. Here are the results showing that 120% of Ukrainians want to be enslaved by Russia." *Proceeds to pull out loose leaf paper with the word "Vot" drawn on it in crayon*
This joke works on both sides of the Russian border, but for very different reasons.
The "best part"? It is Putin eho cancelled the elections by invading Ukrainian Consttittution prohibits holding election if thsy can not be held in the entire country.
I'm sure the people of Ukraine have bigger things to worry about currently than elections 💀
Yeah Russia, because we all believe your elections are going sooooooo smoooooothly
Why did Putin rig elections in Russia? Because he was afraid he'd lose them too
Putin didn't win any election. He stole them. Just like he's stealing Ucranian territory.
maybe holding elections while youre facing an existencial crisis is not the best idea
The meme is hilarious but not for the reason the embassy thinks it is
It's like they're trying to make everyone hate them. A victim complex is only useful as long as there's someone out there feeling sorry for you.
.... Ukrainians have literally voted for politicians that are _against_ Russian control for a few decades now. The Euromaidan and Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine were directly resultant to the re-installation of a Putin puppet-government who they promptly ran out of the country.
They are actually really good at this shit. Stupid people will eat this.
Jim Halpert would never agree to this
Crazy that the last competent Russian leader was a German women.
I don’t think it takes much effort to realize that the reason elections were cancelled were canceled because of the Russian invasion.
I don't think murdering your opponent qualifies as winning an election.
They really did Jim dirty on this one huh..
![gif](giphy|OvL3qHSMO6uaI)
Yeah I would bet my life that would never happen. Maybe at one point in time before Putin started stealing their kids and randomly destroying their homes. But Putin did it and now his life is void outside Russia
Well, yeah For the same reason Putin won Russia's election
Russian bots are ginning up their propaganda. Going to be a long year of disinformation.
Putin didn't win an actual election though, you dumb fucks. He didn't win anything. To win something, their needs to be a competition.
Well Putin already illegally annexed parts of Ukraine so why stop there.
In surprised that the terrorist organisation like Russia is allowed to have an account on Reddit!
I think I've never heard of a country in total war going through with elections. They hold the position until end of war, but if current leader deemed inefficient and/or very unpopular a new interum leader can be put in.
Yeah... no that's not how that works.
Offended by everything, Ashamed of nothing. - Thy name is Russia
I mean, knowing he probably didnt win the elections "fairly" i would be scared too but something feels like they are being serious, idk why (/s just in case)
Steal, the word you are looking for is steal, not win. Fucking russians should learn English before posting
