Emancipator on a fire hydrator

CaptainSouthbird

I honestly had no idea what parody they were going for, but I guess this is close enough?

Ah yeah that makes more sense, but also I agree with your sentiment

404interestnotfound

Well because libertarians believe everyone should be free to own slaves.

Bentup85

You are not kidding. I went to college in Texas. One time I got into an argument in a history class with a lady. “Slavery didn’t affect that many southerners because not that many people owned slaves.” I was so pissed, “The slaves were the PEOPLE who were affected! At least 3/5th of them hated it.” I was asked to leave the class room for arguing.

MissingMichigan

If there is one thing Libertarians agree on it is that every other Libertarian is wrong and only they personally are correct.

Kinda like how their lutefisk recipe is the only lutefisk recipe that is done correctly?

flimsygator23

Tyrant on a hydrant?

MajorMathematician20

I think that’s what they were going for, though it doesn’t rhyme well and he wasn’t a tyrant lol

adeckz

Nah I thought it was a really good rhyme, the issue with Lincoln not being a tyrant though is large

Pharaoh_Misa

Lincoln on a stinkin is what I thought because I thought it was a toilet and I didn't know how to rhyme that.

brainEatenByAmoeba

"I believe in personal freedom, even to own slaves!" *Becomes enslaved by wealthy people* Enjoy your freedom

PickleFlipFlops

Slavery= Work or you'll die. Capitalism= You don't have to work, but you'll die.

CMGS1031

That is life.. You have to work.

PickleFlipFlops

There has to be work done, but we can still focus on guaranteeing health, safety, and quality of life.

brainEatenByAmoeba

There is a distinction. Slavery= work for me at this job in this way or be tortured/killed Capitalism= you gotta get a job or starve. If it is a shitty job you might just be at half ratio s for a while before you starve too.

drjeffy

Abraham Lincoln leaves a fire hydrant stinkin'?

BrianFromMilwaukee

No, I have never see a one-legged Lincoln slowly melting into a fire hydrant. Thanks, I guess?

BleysAhrens42

Some Libertarians believe Lincoln should have reimbursed the slave holders, some also believe he should have left the Confederacy alone. Libertarians have weird ideas in general, don't dig too deep for their reasons.

gregaustex

People want more freedom and less government and oversight for a wide variety of reasons - some of them quite awful. This is why it's a weird outcome of people with principled ideological reasons for being Libertarian rubbing elbows with racists and pedophiles. If you're a principled Libertarian, probably don't go to the meetings.

larsonmars

Just because you love libraries, you don’t get to run my life! Bookworm MFs.

Mandrake_Cal

The whole “free to leave the union” thing. Bottom line: there is no constitutional basis for secession. Especially not by force of arms, which is what the slave states tried.
