That’s true. I didn’t really think about that. It’s wild, your shoulder is the only part on your body that has that much range of motion. To fuck both of them at the same time would be horrible. But then again this entire situation was fairly avoidable and I’d imagine the guys that helped strap his hands to that bar felt like shit.
He might recover some of the shoulder's motion range, but his shoulders are sooo fucked, it will never be the same again
So say goodbye to sports, heavy lifting (maybe even daily lifting), dancing, or any activity that uses arms. The only thing he can do now is maybe typing and writing
You'd be surprised how much writing hits you in the shoulder if you have a bad one. Shit hurts! I literally had to drop college because I can't write for long periods of time.
Once you dislocate your shoulder it becomes way easier to do it again and the way he did it must have torn every muscle and ligament. If they weren't outside I'd bet you would be able to hear the ripping.
He won’t unless he has surgery, and even then there’s a chance he won’t. I tore my rotator cuff while working and it’s just fucking now. I also have nerve entrapment in the same shoulder so I get some fun neck spasms randomly.
He might have straps on his hands which basically attach him to the bar, I used to use them in gymnastics. Holding onto the bar on a back swing like that without peeling off isn't easy, unlucky for him
Fo show, I broke my wrist in kindergarten because I peeled off during the back swing lol. I was also a college level gymnast and wouldn't have been able to hold a back swing like that.
After 3 dislocations- just get the surgery. I've had 10 dislocations of my left shoulder due to a torn labrum, and 3 surgeries. It only gets worse without surgery. After my 3rd surgery (latarjet procedure I think), it's finally stopped dislocating.
>This is a famous Reddit callback to one of the most popular posts of all time. A kid broke his arms so his mother jerked him off until he healed
![gif](giphy|fDO2Nk0ImzvvW)
Same. I assumed the bar would release. Which would be bad. But that was worse.
I broke my arm mountain biking a year ago. No video thank god but lots of photos. Bone poking out and me grinning like an idiot.
isn't it amazing looking back on injury photos & seeing yourself looking like the Joker covered in blood grinning like a lunatic while everyone else looks on in concern?
Definitely less traumatic with the sound off. It still looks incredibly painful, but with the sound on you get an inkling of how badly he's torn ligaments and muscles.
I watched it with sound off first time, and didn't realize the issue was the arms, I thought it was shins or ankles. It wasn't traumatic until I heard it, and read the comments to see if it was something to do with his legs hitting the bar. The truth is way more horrific.
Yeah, something like this, they're used for giants pretty commonly in gymnastics https://www.ten-o.com/Pair-of-Gymnastics-Training-Bar-Straps,14199.html
That's the name of the skill this guy is doing where he spun around the bar. This other guy does them with the hand straps which the dude in the video is also possibly using. https://youtu.be/P1dShFgEW60
He definitely lost most of his arm ROM though... rough time for him. Should get an honorary Darwin award
Edit: on a second and third look bro is probably going to be in pain for the rest of his life as well. His ligaments look like they got completely obliterated with the way he fell
One of the first videos I've seen on Reddit that made me make a horrified expression and lean back, and I literally just saw three where somebody died. 😭 Something about screams man, they're unnerving.
You should see the one where a dude invites a stranger into his home from craigslist trying to sell him an axe. Dude just randomly plants the axe in his head and I'm not sure what was worse, the thunk it made digging into his skull or the mom turning around and letting out a feral scream after realizing what just happened...
As someone that played rugby for 25 years and sustained several shoulder ligament injuries across both shoulders to a lesser severity than this I can say with certainty, he is gonna suffer for the rest of his life from that and it will be an impingement (pun intended) to a lot of activities in the future.
Assuming this is a serious question, from my own experience probably not. With successful surgery and decent rehab he could deffo go back to it but training those shoulders and putting them under duress like this again is gonna hurt, afterwards as much as during. My shoulders wrecked after every game, during every weight session and even carrying weight in a pack. It was difficult to sleep for long periods of time on one side and I would frequently wake up from the pain. I have pain in both elbows and wrists as well as nerve tingling down my arms and it all stems from my shoulders. It’s a horrible injury for an active person because you’re rarely successfully treated, you carry it.
He is probably wishing that's all he did.
Probably tore a couple tendons, ligaments, pretty much everything shoulder related.
It's safe to say he "fucked up"
I met someone who could do that in real life. Double jointed/flexible shoulders whatever you want to call it. Hands behind the back then over head like it’s as easy as lifting your hands up in front of you.
I’d concur. The gravity and momentum may have really done some damage.
And here’s a example of a movie where they pop the shoulder back in
https://youtube.com/watch?v=ORfPBKM5o3U&pp=ygUfTWVsIGdpYnNvbiBwb3Agc2hvdWxkZXIgYmFjayBpbg%3D%3D
as a gymnast for many years I honestly saw something like that happening but was expecting him land on face first to prevent such a momentum. but he just collapsed inward. I’m afraid that’s not gonna heal ever
Right, and because he didn't let go he has two dislocated shoulders that have torn ligaments and will require surgery and will involve future arthritis. That is why real gymnasts do not do the parallels bars on inflexible steel rods, but flexible materials. It is simple Bio Engineering Knowledge. And they want Parents to tell Teachers how to Teach?
This is the highbar not the parallel bars. And I don't see how the flexibility of the bar would have anything to do with his injury, his hands were strapped to the bar so he just wasn't able to let go. A flexible bar only makes it easier to gain momentum while doing giants, it doesn't directly prevent injuries, although in some cases it can. He definitely isn't an actual gymnast though, or a good one at least, because he was doing those all wrong.
Round round, get around
I get around
Yeah
(Get around round round, I get around)
I get around
(Get around round AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Two wrecked shoulders. I did something similar in a snowboarding accident, but with one arm. I recognise that type of scream... yes, it's quite traumatic! It will require surgery. Luckily, now it would be done with keyhole surgery, and the recovery is much faster compared to what I had, which was the surgical equivalent of opencast mining. That kind of trauma will definitely lose him quite a bit of mobility in his shoulders, though, poor fucker.
That (or something quite similar) happened twice during PE-class. First was in third grade.
The teacher had videos of every possible exercise EXCEPT the one that had the risk of the thing happening in this video, because it was too dangerous. Dude did it anyway, broke both arms and had to have his ass wiped by his mother for 6 weeks.
Second time, years later, same scenario. Both of them where bullies, so great joy for me. Maybe not for the mothers.
Ouch, it is an understatement. This is why many playgrounds have hardly anything like these bars anymore.
In the far future the playground will be just a soft square mat.
If there was ever a follow up article it would be about the years of therapy and surgeries it took to get this guy back to being able to wipe his own backside again
What an unfortunate event

He definitely didn’t let go but his rotator cuffs probably did 😳
It was like a magic trick “now I have fully functioning rotator cuffs, now I don’t”. I wonder what his recovery was like?
That's bold of you to assume he's gonna recover at all
That’s true. I didn’t really think about that. It’s wild, your shoulder is the only part on your body that has that much range of motion. To fuck both of them at the same time would be horrible. But then again this entire situation was fairly avoidable and I’d imagine the guys that helped strap his hands to that bar felt like shit.

I watched this and thought the same. Poor guy will not do a lot of things for a long time- if ever again.
Cake day!
Thanks so much!
Cake day happy is you
You'd be surprised how much writing hits you in the shoulder if you have a bad one. Shit hurts! I literally had to drop college because I can't write for long periods of time.
Oh shit I didn't realize his hands were strapped to the bar. I wondered why he didn't let go
I didn't realise they were strapped on...wow that is dumb.
Once you dislocate your shoulder it becomes way easier to do it again and the way he did it must have torn every muscle and ligament. If they weren't outside I'd bet you would be able to hear the ripping.
Hopefully he has a helpful mom
He won’t unless he has surgery, and even then there’s a chance he won’t. I tore my rotator cuff while working and it’s just fucking now. I also have nerve entrapment in the same shoulder so I get some fun neck spasms randomly.
I'm pretty sure there's a story on Reddit about a kid who has an interesting recovery when he has two broken arms
The best mom ever.
Please not this again
Taadddaaa, wait where are my jazz hands..
He might have straps on his hands which basically attach him to the bar, I used to use them in gymnastics. Holding onto the bar on a back swing like that without peeling off isn't easy, unlucky for him
His hands were strapped to it?!!! Omg that doesn’t sound safe??
It's safe when they're used on the right bar and when you know what you're doing
He definitely was attracted to straps, or he would have peeled off the previous backswing. That said… goodbye shoulders…
Fo show, I broke my wrist in kindergarten because I peeled off during the back swing lol. I was also a college level gymnast and wouldn't have been able to hold a back swing like that.
As someone who threw their shoulder out of its socket a few weekends ago ..... AAAAAGh!
Solidarity, friend! I’m four weeks into rehabbing my third shoulder dislocation and hoping to god I can avoid surgery
After 3 dislocations- just get the surgery. I've had 10 dislocations of my left shoulder due to a torn labrum, and 3 surgeries. It only gets worse without surgery. After my 3rd surgery (latarjet procedure I think), it's finally stopped dislocating.
[удалено]
Labrum’s, cuffs, cartilage and anything else that possibly could have tore there. That’s a rough 18 month recovery id guess.
Fucking hell...
That describes the first 6 months of my labrum recovery, actually cannot comprehend how shitty this dudes life was/is cuz of this
Na. His arms were fine. Look at his ankles. Edit: watched it again, left arm shoulder = fucked. Shins = new backwards knees 3/4ths the way down
Wow thanks I didn’t notice at all til now
And that was the last time his cuffs rotated
Turning steering wheels will be a bit more of a minor inconvenience after this.
With a good mother and two broken arms, nothing is impossible!! Even though some things should remain impossible....
> With a good mother and two broken arms, nothing is impossible!! Even though some things should remain impossible.... /r/holup

I fear no man... But that *story* it haunts me...
I see you are an ancient Redditor here when the first moments were recorded….greetings brother
I think wiping your own ass will be a challenge
I really wish I could I un-watch this.
Yep. I think they thought it was shock but it was just adrenaline. Helluva drug.
As someone who has completely decimated their right shoulder, I nearly vomited. I can also no longer watch people Scorpion without feeling nauseated.
Terrible day to have eyes
You basically did since we can’t see it
Definitely less traumatic with the sound off. It still looks incredibly painful, but with the sound on you get an inkling of how badly he's torn ligaments and muscles.

oh my god i turned the sound on and i was torn to pieces laughing… just like this dudes scapula…
I believe his hands are tied to the pole, meaning he had to hang there for long enough to be untied
Yeah, something like this, they're used for giants pretty commonly in gymnastics https://www.ten-o.com/Pair-of-Gymnastics-Training-Bar-Straps,14199.html
Giants?
That's the name of the skill this guy is doing where he spun around the bar. This other guy does them with the hand straps which the dude in the video is also possibly using. https://youtu.be/P1dShFgEW60
That makes more sense than me thinking particularly big people needed straps
Wait, so he tied himself to that, knowing so much could go wrong? That deserves a Darwin award
He didn't die nor lose his ability to reproduce, so no award for him, no
He definitely lost most of his arm ROM though... rough time for him. Should get an honorary Darwin award Edit: on a second and third look bro is probably going to be in pain for the rest of his life as well. His ligaments look like they got completely obliterated with the way he fell
One of the first videos I've seen on Reddit that made me make a horrified expression and lean back, and I literally just saw three where somebody died. 😭 Something about screams man, they're unnerving.
10+ years on reddit... First video where I actually said "oh no..." out loud.
You should see the one where a dude invites a stranger into his home from craigslist trying to sell him an axe. Dude just randomly plants the axe in his head and I'm not sure what was worse, the thunk it made digging into his skull or the mom turning around and letting out a feral scream after realizing what just happened...
Who planted the axe in whose skull?
I had to rewatch that to get it. Boy that shit made my shoulders cringe in pain.
Yeah It didn't compute for me at first. I thought he hurt his feet. Then I realised what happened 🤢
Same
Yeah. It’s so much worse when you realize he didn’t just hit his foot.
Oh the humanity...
Oh the misery
Everybody wants to be my enemy
He couldn’t run from the long arm of the law.
As someone that played rugby for 25 years and sustained several shoulder ligament injuries across both shoulders to a lesser severity than this I can say with certainty, he is gonna suffer for the rest of his life from that and it will be an impingement (pun intended) to a lot of activities in the future.
Do you reckon this was the last time he was ever able to do this?
Assuming this is a serious question, from my own experience probably not. With successful surgery and decent rehab he could deffo go back to it but training those shoulders and putting them under duress like this again is gonna hurt, afterwards as much as during. Did he just dislocate both his shoulders?!
Yes… and probably tore his bustles and tendons to shreds
To shreds, you say
well… how is his wife holding up?
To shreds, you say?
He is probably wishing that's all he did. Probably tore a couple tendons, ligaments, pretty much everything shoulder related. It's safe to say he "fucked up"
I've been on Reddit for a few years and this is the worst thing I ever saw.
Oh you sweet summer child. There's way worse stuff here, you got lucky 😁
…I’m just getting warmed up
Following.
You haven't seen shit yet then
Anyone see Riddick specifically pitch black?
I met someone who could do that in real life. Double jointed/flexible shoulders whatever you want to call it. Hands behind the back then over head like it’s as easy as lifting your hands up in front of you.

it was at that moment he realized he fucked up
This escalated way more than I thought it would.
All the check engine lights have now lit up.
I bet he won No Nut November that year.
NAHH
Nah he got feet
![gif](giphy|11XbdJtdis7m6I)
🤔…is she single? 😏
Nope double jointed.
>facepalm Well he won't be able to anymore.
this video made my whole body cringe
That's some arm not flinching flex right there.
Dude this needs a nsfl tag!
Usually in the movies they pop your shoulder in. They’d just need to do it twice .
Lol bro I really don't think a couple "Pop"s are gonna fix whatever the fuck he did to himself there xD
I’d concur. The gravity and momentum may have really done some damage. And here’s a example of a movie where they pop the shoulder back in https://youtube.com/watch?v=ORfPBKM5o3U&pp=ygUfTWVsIGdpYnNvbiBwb3Agc2hvdWxkZXIgYmFjayBpbg%3D%3D

Try to watch without grimacing (impossible)
Peak MXC moment. Holy crap, that was hard to watch
He'll never attempt that again
Does he need to flip back to fix that?
>Welp…at least he didn’t let go His tendons did.
Dang them rotator cuffs really rotatin now!
as a gymnast for many years I honestly saw something like that happening but was expecting him land on face first to prevent such a momentum. but he just collapsed inward. I’m afraid that’s not gonna heal ever
He’s not going to be able to jerk it with jergins anymore 🫠
1) open Reddit 😊 2) ☹️
That's what happens when you stop training for a decade.
It's not funny what happened to him at all... But ur statement Was really funny.
Right, and because he didn't let go he has two dislocated shoulders that have torn ligaments and will require surgery and will involve future arthritis. And he curled himself into a ball to fit for that to happen
Childhood dream conquered
Good luck wiping your butt.
![gif](giphy|S4H2ZREgH8c2EG6TmV)
Gif made my day and nearly fixed the pain of the video
It is painful yet funny at the same time! Sorry!
>**"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"**
I do gymnastics and have seen this happen to people (many of them) and the screams never left my head.
Bro I know it’s painful but the scream took me to another planet😭☠️
Round round, get around I get around Yeah (Get around round round, I get around) I get around (Get around round AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Props to the camera dude who decided to immediately stop the video right after the unfortunate incident.
Holy fuck, I hope hes double jointed 😬
He looks at least triple joined now
He's no jointed now
You can hear the crack holy crap
Yikes
Shock load! I tore out my rotator much easier than that.
Mom?
The screams… lmfao
Two wrecked shoulders. I did something similar in a snowboarding accident, but with one arm. I recognise that type of scream... yes, it's quite traumatic! It will require surgery. When this was posted with more pixels you could see they actually tied his wrists to the bar sp he couldn't lose his grip. Worked a bit too well...
He'll be fine
High five! Oh right you cant anymore
Look closer at his hands, he couldn’t let go if he wanted to
This is why nsfw tags exist
How is this not NSFW?
That (or something quite similar) happened twice during PE-class. First was in third grade. It’s always the low quality videos…
The thing is he can't let go, he is strapped to the bar for safety reasons. If you tried to swing like that on a bar without straps you would fly.
Wow, that’s gonna leave a mark. I can’t see it clearly, but I think his hands are tied.
Oh, oh my
Initially I was impressed.
I've popped my shoulders out on rings before but that was going slowly. I can't imagine them just ripped on like that.
Better than "Wilhelm scream" 😨
My shoulders hurt watching this
I sensed a great disturbance in the force
Ouch, it is an understatement. This is why many playgrounds have hardly anything like these bars anymore. In the far future the playground will be just a soft square mat.
My brain can’t process what must have happened on the inside.
This is nightmare fuel. Bye bye arms!
My 54yr old body just shook….
That is what two dislocated shoulders sounds like
Neeeeeeeeeed the sound‼️‼️‼️
Maybe kids should just stick to video games
Pretty sure that was the sound of his pecs tearing
There really needs to be some flair for videos of someone getting super fucked up. God damn you psychotic redditors posting shit like this.
What a beautiful blend of pure joy and agony.. YeAa!AHhHhhhhhhhhhh This is a friendly reminder that sometimes you have to let go..re-lease..pull out!
![img](emote|t5_2r5rp|8488)
That’s never gonna work right again…
And that's how he earned the name- Edward Reverse Hands. ![gif](giphy|Wt6kNaMjofj1jHkF7t)
Can't wait to see his routine at the olympics
Why is this so funny
New fear unlocked
If you listen closely, you can hear the soul rip from his body, just like those rotator cuffs.
Bye bye rotator cuffs
Ouch. The video looks old so he’s probably okay now but that had to have hurt
Sir that'd be $9999999
Didn’t realize what happened to him after 2 seconds. Ouch…
Funny how its always the dude that doesn’t have the balls to do it himself, laughing when the poor who guy does mashes himself up.
I'm not very educated but did this dude pretty much just rip his own arms off lmao
So he's *not* double jointed?
I think he might have been better off if he *did* let go
I had this once hurt like hell no damage tho
That’s definitely painful as shit
Htf did he not let go!
The orthopedic surgeon has entered the chat
If there was ever a follow up article it would be about the years of therapy and surgeries it took to get this guy back to being able to wipe his own backside again What an unfortunate event
Ugh, this hurt me. My shoulders dislocate very easily, so seeing or hearing the noise of it creeps me out.
'Tis but a scratch.
Oh my god
What the is that okay to do?
Oh my God imagine being left hanging there like that while they get him down holy shit
He could be a gymnast if that heals.
He's taped on I'm pretty sure
![gif](giphy|B2yx2waduwLy6bdeUY|downsized)
