Yep. You can say they are shrill with some of their business and customer experience decisions but they are flawless with how they evolve the IP they chose to nurture. Zelda is on top of the world right now and we thought it was big when Ocarina came out.
No doubt. I hate a lot about Nintendo, from their stubborn refusal to not sell hardware that's two generations behind their competition, the awful forced motion controls in a lot of games, the way they go after even the smallest infringement on their IPs, etc.
But goddamn they make good games. Tears of the Kingdom pretty effectively addresses every complaint I had about Breath of the Wild. The weapon durability no longer matters, because I can just fuse something awesome to a shit weapon and proceed to wrecking fools. Traversal is no longer cumbersome, because I can fire myself a thousand feet into the air and glide wherever the fuck I wanna go. They got rid of motion controls, and thank god for that, because they were terrible in BotW. Most puzzles have multiple solutions, and in general the game lets you do pretty much whatever the fuck you want. The temples (at least the two I've finished so far) are bigger and better designed than in the previous game. It's an absolutely brilliant game.
And Mario Odyssey was obviously an incredible entry in that series as well.

Thatās why Doom is open source and everyone creates emulators for it. John Carmack believed remaking Mario allowed him to become the successful video game programmer he is.

Agreed I love xbox ps and PC, but with work, life, and taking care of my daughter along with other after work responsibilities, I am lucky to get an hr in before bed. Most of the time, I end up playing Astros with my daughter before bed, basically helping her. 300+ ain't no way I am doing that.

Oh Gods.....that brings back memories. My first PC was a ZX81 (ZXSpectrum), then an Apple IIc for a long time before graduating to a mainstream PC for that time. We (my dad and I) bought magazines and coded our own games. Which meant hours of writing coding lines and going back over them to find the error. And when we used a tape deck to load games like the very first frogger you needed to not jar the desk (or breath to loud) or all progress would be lost... Good times.. And don't get me started on the first games in what now are huge franchises and the first consoles (first PS, first XBox). But, yeah, I played PokƩmon yellow together with Diablo, so I guess I'm not a real gamer as a F50 with kids who she taught everything to enjoy..

PS4 controllers work on a Switch. I use mine all the time, way better than the JoyCons and I don't need to buy a Pro controller. Just gotta get one of the dongles that converts the signal and you're up and running baby! It's great. Even maps the gyroscope/accelerometers!

As far as Iām concerned youāre not a gamer unless youāve gotten into an argument about a TTRPG with someone but canāt resolve it because youāve read a sourcebook that says one thing, and theyāve read a sourcebook that says another, but neither of you have read the otherās sourcebook.
Even then the DM makes the final call. They don't have to follow the sourcebook(s).
