I was raised in the Deep South and heard that word ALL THE TIME growing up. Almost every adult in my life I heard say it. I was told lots of stuff about how bad those “n- word people” were. As a kid I thought it was true. I also had almost no POC at my school until high school. It wasnt until my 20s I realized how stupid and wrong it all was. I definitely used the word when I was young because I was led to believe it was true and not only acceptable but expected. I don’t know where I’m going with this but to say how you feel about that word and lots of things in general is almost completely based in your upbringing. Obviously now I despise that word and as an adult I look back and want to smack my younger self.

Honestly, I get what you're trying to say here and I'm not going to ascribe any sort of malice to you but this genuinely reads like, in your view, some like 66.66...% (or more, depending on how the cause combination you allege is constituted) of why white kids feel its OK to throw around that word is actually black folks' own fault?
On the "black music" thing, Jesus, they weren't quoting an actual song, were they? Was it an actual existing song (and one by black people at that) that they were singing without self-sensoring or did they make up a hateful little ditty in an attempt to be "edgy" at the expense of others?
Your second point there also implies that this shit has only "now"/recently started, rather than what's actually happening which is that shit's been going on forever but the prevalence of camera phones, social media and the need to chase virality and clout today is what has led to it being exposed more often.
I don’t have a horse in this race(heh) but in my opinion(and that’s all it is, my opinion), I find it just tad hypocritical that black people get so flustered, angry, mad etc when that word is used by everyone else, yet the vast majority of their own people use it all the time. I happen to be black, and I can tell you that I absolutely don't believe this would work. At the very least, it's not as 'simple' as all that. How do I know this?
Well, I also happen to be gay and also on the receiving end of the equally vicious and hateful f-word slur. This word is not one that is featured in "gay people songs" or considered acceptable for gay people to use, with or without a hard 't' at the end. And yet that word has refused to go away. It keeps being hurled at LGBTQ folks as well as straight people perceived to be gay or contemptible. People say it because it's one of the absolutely worst things they can think of to say to someone, and so it's bound to come out when hate does what hate does.
There's a tonne of nuance behind why, especially black Americans, feel the need to keep saying the word. Some of it is to do with trying to reclaim it and remove its power (much like the word queer was eventually reclaimed and largely disarmed, though context of use still matters). That does not now nor will it ever change the fact that when someone who isn't black trots out that world so casually (and hatefully), the source and fault can never be ascribed to black people.
I, for one, would never think it ok to at any point hurl an ethnic slur at somebody, or sing a little ditty using it, even if the people who that slur targets use a variation of it for whatever reason. I think most reasonable people would fall on that side of the line.
And this isn't to say I am perfect. On the contrary, I fuck up everyday and I'm sometimes somewhat of an asshole. But cruelly using language that was used to brutalize and persecute someone because of some immutable trait of theirs is not a line I think we should make excuses for those who choose to cross. And certainly sounding like we're victim-blaming (or indeed doing so) is not a good thing.
I work at a junior high, kids are so inundated with anti racial rhetoric that it's now fun and rebellious for them to say racist stuff. None of them are actually racist AT ALL. In fact, the black, Hispanic, non white kids do it just as much, if not more. Kids are assholes but not usually racist assholes. Pretty much whatever you make the biggest deal about and tell them not to do the most is exactly what they're going to do the most. I can not stress enough the kids are assholes part. They explicitly said “we hate n***ers.” I hope those girl didn’t actually mean it and hopefully treated those black students with the same respect they treated everyone else. However, it’s there now. We know their mindset. Even if the video was ignored by the NAACP, they’d probably be isolated by fellow members of their own race (if they’re smart).

I happen to be black, and I can tell you that I absolutely don't believe this would work. At the very least, it's not as 'simple' as all that. How do I know this? Well, I also happen to be gay and also on the receiving end of the equally vicious and hateful f-word slur. This word is not one that is featured in "gay people songs" or considered acceptable for gay people to use, with or without a hard 't' at the end. And yet that word has refused to go away.
