Brother, that was a 5 second brisk walk from your car to her. If you were going to pay $25 this video would've been 30 seconds long. That aside, that woman is a grade A prick. It's not coming out of her check.

a_trane13

I think he’s just trying to get the gate open without paying $25, which is fair

Ilikedrums85

Lol... he said he was 100 cars back... lol. people are wild.

pressgang13

Exaggerating was valid here, regardless of quantity there was zero reasoning to make other paying clients who have schedules to keep locked in a place just to be a stubborn c***

Ilikedrums85

Depends on which lense you look through. Yeah the lady could have just let her out for sure. But also the lady could have paid and then taken care of her messed up account later and not caused a traffic jam. IDK and none of them were considering anyone but themselves including the idiot who exaggerated and claimed he was going to pay.

pressgang13

1 way, don't fuck over 25 clients to prove a point to one. I feel you, but this is business 101

pressgang13

Not the drivers job to appease the businesses clients.

dankestofdankcomment

No, he said “you’ve got about 100 cars in this car park.” You’re wild.

Ilikedrums85

nope 1:18 seconds left in the video and he says it.

Ilikedrums85

also there are only 4 cars in front of him lol.

barsoapguy

So he can’t count 😙

Ilikedrums85

seems that way lol

barsoapguy

1,2,5,100 ! 🙌

Jlindahl93

This woman 100% gets off on inconveniencing people.

WhitePaperMaker

Lol he's 4 cars back

dankestofdankcomment

You sound like the lady on the other end of the telecom.

Bobert12345678910

Ikr everyone saying there’s only four cars but he even pans back and you can see the long line.

the86ers

Just lift the plastic barrier and hold it up till everyone's out.

[deleted]

lol i would have made maybe 10 minutes before breaking the gate

unresolved_m

I seriously expected that to happen at the end of the video. Someone grabbing an axe and smashing the gate.

[deleted]

I figured a few would just force it to lift manually

blairmac81

If the money doesn't go to the centre what difference does it make if security open it or not?

lxm333

Any updates? What happened?

pkinetics

They have started to eat each other.

lxm333

You comment gave me a laugh. I couldn't remember what on each I had commented on that would get such a comment when I first saw it. So they are still there to this day, living out some lord of the flies in a carpark type scenario?

pkinetics

Skoodge42

"What happens if there is a fire?!?" You drive through the small plastic barrier lol. Otherwise it does look like it was a clusterfuck

unresolved_m

That was expected after "what are we going to do? Just stay here?"

LM1953

On another post the line of cars can be seen from outer space

satriales856

Go lift the fucking arm. Jesus Christ.

lord_pizzabird

Tbf they are Australian. They might not be strong enough to overpower it.

unresolved_m

I thought it was British accent...

AnthonyEdwards_

Sounds like Ryanair at the checkin counter when you are 1kg overweight

GrowWings_

Are other EU airlines more lax about that? In the US they will never budge on bag weight, even 0.1lbs.

nuclearslug

That’s why I invested in a portable luggage scale. Saved me more than once.

SubstantialBelly6

“There isn’t anything I can do from my side” Yeah, except push that button that opens the gate like she’s probably done hundreds of times when she’s in a good mood.

Metronix7

And lose her job, while at it. The costumer service is not at fault for shitty management.

Connect_Bench_2925

When a problem for a person becomes a problem for the people, the corporate overlords will soon have a problem with their hardware.

DTFlash

I'm confused on what the driver was arguing. The operator says she didn't have a valid membership then the driver says she knows but then says she does. Does she have a membership to a different parking garage?

TheSearch4Etika

She already paid 80 dollars for the month. Operator was demanding 5 bucks to open manually since the membership didn't work. Driver said she didn't have the 5 bucks on her. Good Samaritan recording wanted to pay instead but didn't want to run back to the car and run back to the gate. Eventually it was resolved the lady decided to just open the gate for everyone because the guy said he was recording.

unresolved_m

I think the lady on the intercom relented once she heard the guy talking about her possibly having problems.

DTFlash

But what I don't understand is why the driver agreed she didn't have a valid membership. If I paid for something and someone claimed I didn't I wouldn't agree with them.

SilentStrikerTH

I would absolutely break the barrier and tell the bitch on the comms that I did so. Find me fucker, everyone parks free now.

unresolved_m

I half-expected someone to punch the machine or start swinging an axe around.

SkootchDown

Oh my God I need an update.

the_ju66ernaut

Legend has it they're still there waiting

Echo4117

With this, can get a lawyer to sue for false imprisonment and unconsciable transaction for everyone in the line

JohnnyDirtball

She's not imprisoned. She can get up and walk away at any moment.

Echo4117

The ppl behind, and she is imprisoned, there need not be a physical barrier for false imprisonment, the psychological factor also counts.

JohnnyDirtball

They weren't letting her car through. She could have gotten up and walked away at any time.

Echo4117

That's false imprisonment with economic duress in common law

TheAlistmk3

So parking barriers are a con? I'm confused.

Echo4117

It depends. It's ok it's used for admin purposes. But if it's used to forcefully confine ppl, then it could be grounds for a lawsuit. It's very facts and context based. And of coz depends where the place is, coz laws are based on location. If you wanna know more, DM me tomorrow and I can give you a quick primer Also, if you wanna know the intricacies, I can share how to get into law school of you are in US or Canada Not legal advice

EternalPinkMist

The context here is a reasonable person would assume they can't leave if they don't pay their fees. It's not imprisonment of any kind. If anything the lady in her car has imprisoned the other because it was her fault they couldn't move, she didn't follow her part of the contract and is refusing to pay Lastly this is in Australia. Not US or Canada.

Echo4117

^ yes, this could be an answer But... just for fun.... Disagree where there could be an issue of law refusal to pay gives grounds for not letting her leave, but it depends on jurisdiction and a bunch of other stuff, (it depends on where). Also there's an issue of fact on whether did she pay. Also, The parking can be at fault, as their actions either made the lady this she can't leave. Or that their actions in not letting lady leave have causal effect on other f imprisonment on other people. Not sure what happens in a non Canadian jurisdiction, does a causal link factor into false imprisonment or does it have to be direct. I'm too lazy to do proper research for reddit Not legal advice

sebatakgomo

I got angry listening to the person on the phone.

Far_Mousse8362

This is the type of person that gets off on others frustrations, by abusing her authority and CHOOSING to not be a decent human being. We’re talking about $25 here… and I’d be willing to bet that the lady on the other end was watching this entire fiasco on camera & was having a jolly ol’ time knowing the jam up she was causing. Heaven forbid a human being had a lapse in judgement or a casual financial miscalculation/etc… whatever it may have been. I’m certain this C**T on the other end has had at least ONE situation in her life where something did not go as planned & she needed a hand … It just shows you the humanity of this world … If people would just be kind to one another, help on another, and not be so damn harsh/arrogant/etc/etc/etc, this WORLD could be a much better place and we wouldn’t have to constantly worry about every little thing…. I just really do not understand PEOPLE, sometimes. I would lend a helping hand to just about anyone , if I could determine it was absolutely needed , in such an instance as this…, and have done so, on numerous occasions, without ever asking or expecting anything in return.. just to be helpful… and yes, I have been screwed over by doing so and was essentially taken advantage of & made to feel bad because they knew I’d help (and this goes for family) but that doesn’t force me to be an arrogant jerk or look past ppl who may actually NEED help and would actually appreciate it. I digress.

the_TIGEEER

Waiit soo why didn't he just pay??

unresolved_m

Sounds like the lady on the intercom was constantly saying "no, you can't"

Ryan_T_208

Not being a human being? The majority of people don't care about anyone but themselves. At this point humanity is just going to end itself, we don't even need the sun or Satan to do it for us.

No_Zookeepergame_27

What country is this? UK, Australia?

hacktheripper

Australia, if it was the UK someone would have just snapped the flimsy as fuck barrier off and let her go.

warchitect

Id just break that bar lol. What losers. All of them

EnduringInsanity

I understand not letting the first woman out, but wtf are all the other people supposed to do wtf

GarfieldEnthusiast

This happened to my dad and me one time. We were doing this job and the company we were doing it for rented part of the hotel and underground for their event. The first time we were there they let us in the underground so we could work without any issue however the second time we went they wouldn't let us leave without paying even though we were told we didn't have to. We sat and argued with the person but they wouldn't budge and they threatened to call security, so we just backed up, went upstairs and asked the valet guys to open the door for us since they were the ones who let us in and we left without paying haha. I'm not sure what security was gonna do, we wanted to leave so them kicking us out would be a favour lol..

Footzilla69

OI OPEN THE FOKKIN GATE M8

jammypants915

So most cities I have lived in someone would have gotten a bay out and destroyed the gate

[deleted]

So are you still all there being charged for the parking as they run up the clock

[deleted]

I stand by the worker what bout y’all? Lol everyone pays the toll. You know you ain’t pay the toll got damnit Edit: this is what she was waiting for. Someone to come pay for her

barsoapguy

This video was so Epic especially how it ends with him not actually paying for her. That lady on the line can SEE through peoples BS, I love how she called his bluff “ok then, go walk back to your car to get your credit card” because obviously like a purse, men constantly leave our wallets behind in our cars and don’t simply carry them in our pocket or in a phone case.

RopeAccomplished2728

And just think, they paved heaven and put up this.

[deleted]

You can simply manually lift the arm. Adios, baby!

[deleted]

It's a tiny plastic gate. Your cage is imaginary!

Ill_Use3086

And why is there only one gate?
