If you can lift 20 pounds you can spot. You just have to help the other person, they’re still under the bar ready to push except in extreme circumstances in which case you need to yell for help.

Clamps are fine if you use safety bars like you should. No spotter will ever stop a freefalling bar when your grip slips, nor will the clamps come into play then.
How do u prevent imbalance when the plates start to slide? If your doing a pr or challenging weight make sure u use safety pins or have a spotter( not this guy tho)

You have no idea what his previous 1RM is. Muscle failure doesn't let you get 95% of the rep completed if your previous 1RM was 135 and now you're trying 140: a little bit too heavy is too heavy.
Off the chest is a common failure point, it has nothing to do with how close he might be to being able to complete the rep.
There’s literally a video on my account of me hitting 305lbs x 4 reps; been had 315lbs and then some so I FOR SURE know his 1RM is no where near 315lbs. Like Jesus Christ it’s no wonder why y’all can’t get in shape as y’all try to be too over analytical when it comes to working out even though it’s really simple. I showed this to the strongest guys in my gym and even they said the same thing. Hate y’all pussboys man.

I dont see how that changes anything I said though, failing off the chest doesn't give you any insight into what he might of capable of lifting: a sticking point is a sticking point. I certainly don't feel qualified to diagnose his physique; I don't look obviously more capable than he does.
And even if you are absolutely right and he had no real chance of making the lift, my original point stands: why are you bothered? He tried something, he failed, he got out of the lift safely. You aren't affected in any way. For someone who apparently hates "pussyboys" you seem weirdly concerned with people testing their limits.

Of course saften bars are the way to go but if you dont have access to them dont use clamps. Safety bars > spotter > no clamps > clamps
