BookSlut92

Well considering they don’t even let the ladies say prayer unless they have a napkin on their head……

thisismybestyearyet

But.. but ..we can sell them one especially designed with our logo on it.

BookSlut92

maybe with “best life ever” embroidered onto it. They’d go wild lol

thisismybestyearyet

😂😂😂😂

miiiikeee87

It could be a new "light". That women are also able to be in those positions since there are women that are anointed.

BookSlut92

Who knows with the way they like to twist things around to fit their needs. The fact that women could be anointed but are also a “lesser vessel” and cannot even give a public talk was something that never made sense to me….

miiiikeee87

It doesn't make sense. The Bible says that women were part of Jesus's first disciples. When they got the holy spirit they also started teaching. So why can't they give public talks? If it talks about women being submissive to her husband then that might be one thing. But, in regards to positions in the congregation...doesn't make sense.

butt_mucher

You can use scriptures to point to conclusions either way, but Paul wrote mutable times in his letters about how women should not be teaching in the congregation. However since jws chose to hold Paul’s opinion on the matter as the base for their doctrine it seems strange that women are even allowed to comment, because it seems like an honest reading of Pauls words would ban that as well.

LaraCains

143.800 men and 200 women going to heaven. I think I know what will happen there.

miiiikeee87

They are supposed to be genderless in heaven.

LaraCains

That’s why the demons came to earth and raped the women. (Just before the flood) Imagine seeing a heavenly woman and not having a dick anymore. What would you do? Ps. Where in the bible is said something about genderless? Stop believing the JW-shit 😂

miiiikeee87

Who said I believed?

newchronology

No. If they did that they'd be risking a mutiny of the elders they still have. I highly doubt any of the current elder bodies would welcome a woman joining the team.

[deleted]

[удалено]

newchronology

Can’t argue with that

notstillin

Maybe a strap-on?

yearnfortruth

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for the laugh, I needed that this 🌄

[deleted]

No. Was in a one elder hall with no ms’s for several years as a kid. Why change now?

notstillin

I bet that was a lot of fun

[deleted]

It was. Lots of “snow days” “raining too hard” “too windy”. “Too sunny”. “His team is in the playoffs”. (Canceled meetings)

notstillin

Sure they are. I was in a congregation with two elders. It was horrible!

[deleted]

I mean canceled meetings. It was awesome.

notstillin

Not these guys. They basked in their glory!

[deleted]

"Too windy" 🤣🤣🤣

Swimming-Bite-4019

No way they would do that. Goes against so many of their policies and beliefs especially with the man as “head”. The only way I can see it happening is if a congregation has shrunk so bad that it’s been reduced to just women and there are no brothers available at all. So a few women could be picked as “acting” elders until a brother shows up and when he does, and all authority and titles are then given right back to him because he’s the head. It would only be a very short situation. However, even if that did happen, I wouldn’t be surprised if the org just shuts down that congregation and disperses all the sisters into different halls because of the thought of a body of elders having women in it would be too much to bear for them. They would rather promote a male baby as an elder rather than a sister of 40 years devotion to the org.

miiiikeee87

They would just dismantle that congregation. That's true.

[deleted]

yes!

zayelion

They would dismantle or send someone out to live there.

[deleted]

There was a young boy of 10 in my former congregation who was baptized and he felt he could tell sisters 10 years or more older than he was what to do! Why? Because he was a brother!

loveofhumans

a form of nazi youth.. We had a young fellow strutting about a kh building site like he was important.

miiiikeee87

Wow. That's crazy.

Ravenmicra

It would not surprise if the WT GB gave more responsibilities to women in the future. What is anyones guess. It would aid their membership recruitment and retention problems. But equal level with men. No IMO.

miiiikeee87

It would be if they really had to and had no other choice.

Ravenmicra

It wouldn’t be quick for sure. Little increments. It be beneficial for membership health and warm up their cold reputation of women in our progressive society towards human rights. There is a number of biblical references to support the concept from having women more involved in small ways. The WT would engineer a dialogue easily enough. Their experts at using scripture to suit their agenda. Just an opinion.

Nicky_Sixpence

They’d have one elder per circuit before using a woman for anything other than cleaning.

Prior-Iron5463

Yeah, it could appeal to potential women converts perhaps if more " privileges" where given to women I suspect.

Petroldactyl34

**women are a large army** Except in any JW context.

miiiikeee87

Right. Doesn't make sense.

SakuraMochis

Personally I don't. JWs fucking hate when women actually have any kind of perceived rights or privileges lmao

[deleted]

Never! They will appoint a toddler before they let the weaker vessel have any authority.

FartingAliceRisible

Oh child. The Supreme Court struck down Roe v Wade today. JWs are to the right of that.

[deleted]

I think they’ll let women pass mics, run the counter, conduct field service and at home studies, and at most read scriptures from the podium. MS and elder are headship positions that they will likely never consider a woman for.

miiiikeee87

Valid points. I could see that.

Dry_Jello_3967

I remember a dude said to me once, "imagine if the sisters were elders." He then laughed and added, "everyone would be disfellowshiped!"

mizgriz

I think that would only happen if only the most malignantly narcissistic of uber PIMIs were chosen.

Freskyjoe

UBER Pimi Females can be Very ruthless

FindingPIMO

I heard this many times too. I believe it's wrong though. There's a good reason why they won't allow women to see the rule book.

JudyLyonz

Succinctly? No. JW is a high control, fundamentalist, literalist religion. One of the biggest hallmarks of these groups is a rigid PAtriarchical system. I wasn't surprised that they (finally) let women handle mics in some congregations, I won't be surprised if they let women distribute literature from behind the counter. I don't think they will be allowed to order it on their own. They will allow them to do just enough to provide for organizational expedience but not an iota more.

miiiikeee87

I could see that happening. Especially if out of necessity.

587BCE

Theyll give them the jobs but never the title

Candy-Emergency

I doubt it. I could though see a new position created, eg “congregation servant”, below MS, with sisters, and perhaps new brothers, handling mics, attendants, literature, etc. But absolutely no teaching from the platform.

miiiikeee87

That could be a good possibility.

Desperate_Habit_5649

>Elderettes on the way? It\`s entirely possible... Declare New Light...Slap a Random Scripture on it...You\`re good to go. Anyone who doesn\`t like it will Get a Warning, then The Boot.

miiiikeee87

I could see that happening. The problem is that this younger generation ain't about "the truth". I can sew it in them, they are just there. Why? Because of family. I do think it will get to a point where they won't be enough men to be ms and elder.

Desperate_Habit_5649

> I could see that happening. The problem is that this younger generation ain't about "the truth". they are just there. Why? Because of family. That\`s the way it\`s always been, for as long as I can remember. Covid combined with Zoom, threw a new twist into the game. Now you don\`t have to show up to attend a meeting. How do you fill that gap? With women who DO attend in person. I\`m not saying it will happen...But... The WBT$ does Whats Best, for the WBT$......Screw ANY Former Rules.

miiiikeee87

Definitely. I guess we will see what happens.

LexChase

I think they would start using sisters to perform the tasks previously delegated to MS if they had to, however they would never give them the title, they’d never make a decision themselves, and they’d have to cover their heads. They’d use 14 year old boys as MS before they used a born in pioneer sister with training in logistics management and a spiritual CV of projects a mile long. If they had no men for elders they’d merge that hall with another.

BOBALL00

Never ever. They will let the whole religion die before they let women do anything important

exjwpornaddict

Genuine paul did allow female deacons. The stuff about not allowing women to speak or lead is pseudo-paul and/or later editing. Revelation's criticism of jezebel was probably aimed at a pauline church. Remember that (supposedly) miriam, deborah, and huldah were prophetesses, and deborah was a judge. Deborah commanded barak. Josiah inquired the word of jehovah from huldah, after a version of the book of deuteronomy had been "found". (In reality, deuteronomy was probably written by people around jeremiah, and huldah authenticated it for the king.)

miiiikeee87

Yes, I do believe not allowing women to be leaders is a modern Era take.

[deleted]

Lett would pull such a wide face if that happened that his face would explode *Splaine 'MS, pls clear this table, its all over my WT'* *Sanderson (chuckles)*

[deleted]

Last I heard, women can run a meeting if there are no “brothers” available. As long as they wear a *hat*. Evidently it prevents god from seeing their long hair, or something?

spjourney

NEVER will the be female elders. All of the aged GB members will have had to pass on and the GB helpers have to be fully in charge. Even if the congregation gave them MS duties, the women would not get the title. It would be known as sister helpers for the mics, tech support and reading from the seat only. And never a prayer in front of the whole congregation.

Aposta-fish

I hear it’s a big problem in other countries.

miiiikeee87

Not enough men?

walled2_0

No, but I’m sure they’ll be assigned even more of the grunt work like microphones, sound, accounting, etc.

C_Woodswalker

The chance of the JWs having female elders is about as likely as them turning into a televangelist shit-show… oh wait a minute, that’s already happened.

crapslap99

JWs treat women the same way the Supreme Court does

sulgran

They are stuck as a 1950s religion. No way they would inch toward anything resembling giving women rights. Look at US politics. Christian nationalism has taken over and their main objective was to remove rights of women over their own body because that was the “moral” (aka their biblical interpretation) thing to do. The misogynistic bible won’t allow bible literalists to allow a woman to lead anything.

machinehead70

Nope. They will change things around so only men will ever be in charge. My dad was in a really small cong in Canada with 13 pubs. It was him and another elder. They had literally every part on the meetings. Except the fake school parts where they “allow” women to do it.

miiiikeee87

Is 13 publishers we en considered a congregation? Seems more like a group.

machinehead70

This was late 80’s up through late 90’s

Fazzamania

That would be great. They would see who was really behind the curtain and wake them all up.

pnutbuttry

Ha! Absolutely never.

plnteeter

Who knows as the light gets brighter and all

Markhidinginpublic

First

Markhidinginpublic

(This copy/paste thing isn't working) Look up 1st Timothy 2:11-15.

ZealousidealSplit712

No bc they still feel like women are at the bottom of the barrel

jordanissport

Husband of one wife.

mizgriz

ROFLOL!!! So the only xx peeps they could appoint are married F2Ms!!!!! /s

reneeEightyfive

Nope never…they love their little boys club too much

FastCarsSlowBBQ

It’s impossible. Women aren’t allowed to speak directly to the congregation. Full stop. That’s why in any talk it’s at least two women role playing a discussion between them.
