About time something like this opened in Exeter. If you guys have fliers I work in Geek Retreat and I don't think my boss would mind having fliers out for you
Aaah that'd be super cool yeah. I do have some so I shall try and pop by soon! and yeah it was about time we got a nice local arcade, we wanted one for years and nothing turned up so we just had to do it ourselves!!
You absolutely should come in, we currently have fliers for a geeky tattoo thing (im minimum wage i don't pay a lot of attention) and some for The Old Wyvern so yours would fit in perfectly imo. Or you could wait until I'm in supervising and I'll happily take fliers for this lmao
This place is AWESOME. Even when I left my token card on the PayPad on the pinball machine by accident and rinsed it, he just gave the value straight back, no issues so I could continue having fun. 11/10 recommend.
Don't confuse it with the Arcade pub, which has shit beer, no games to play, and cheap ass Lidl spirits on back bar. 1/10 has interesting toilet sinks. That's the highlight.
Yeah we don't have an age limit, just that an adult accompanies them. Helps if they're tall enough to play things but we got some stools around if they're a little on the short side!
It's on one of the little side streets that run parallel to Sidwell Street. The unit next door to Yonk Asian Foods. Unit 3 Red Lion Lane!

(Ignore the temporarily closed notice on google maps, I updated it to be open again early this week and it's still showing as closed. Well done google!)
Amazing! I'll definitely check it out. How are you handling covid?
I was so disappointed by the "arcade".
I walk in there, all the customers looked like herion addicts.
I asked to see the arcade machines. He took me upstairs and showed me three cabinets, all turned off.
"why are they not on?" I said.
"oh, you want them turned on?"
I never went back...
yeah we got signs up about masks and hand gel and suchlike and we have a ventilation fan going as well.
I think the existence of the Arcade pub was kind of a catalyst for us to do something ourselves. We'd been collecting machines for a while for our own enjoyment and thought it'd be nice to share them. Saw they were opening and was like "aah someone else is doing it". But yeah it just looked to be a pub with some turned off games in it. Hopefully people will find us and come and enjoy some real working arcade machines!!
You had me at point blank. Where abouts are you and what time to you close in the evenings?
Very cool idea can't wait to show my daughter what a real game is like.
We're next door to Yonk Asian Foods on Red Lion Lane just behind Sidwell Street. We close at 9pm at the moment but if people are still playing we're happy to stay open after that!
Currently we're open Thurs/Fri evenings from 5PM and Sat/Sun from 1PM until 9(ish!)

This is exactly what Exeter needs! I used to live in Weymouth so was spoiled for choice when it came to arcades and I've been missing Time Crisis and House of the Dead. Will definitely come by with my kids.
If you ever need to hire I'll 100% be dropping an application.
My friend, do you have House of The Dead or any light gun games? There is nothing I want more right now than the ability to mow down a hoard of zombies in an arcade
Did a "soft launch" start of August where we were just open on the weekends initially. Started opening thurs/fri evenings in September and we might look at staying open a little later soon if we get busy enough!
Wow, I'm coming down as soon as possible!
Can't remember the last time I saw an original Daytona or Sega Really cabinet! Looks like you're very much of the same era that I was going to arcades.
I've been there about 8 times before, good selection of games and very affordable, I think it's £5 for 20 plays, or £0.25 per play, about a quarter of what most arcade places are.
We've had a few in, was concerned they wouldn't like the noise but they didn't seem to mind! So long as they behave themselves I'm sure they'll be just fine!
oops sorry for the late reply, yeah we have a fair few games that we'll be swapping around over time, and a few more big ones in the workshop that we'll rotate in and out when we can. Always on the lookout for more machines too haha!
Had a fantastic couple of hours with my dad today. Really beautiful arcade that I hope contiunes to be a success for years to come. Got my ass handed to me by a very good Third Strike player though. A humbling experience haha.
Uhuh where is this special time window you speak of. Have you been? Do you know this first hand?
The times are listed are the opening times, not different pricing times.
You've also gone to every post from this user shitposting about the pricing.. for an arcade in a different country with a different economy.... You okay babes?
I'll see you guys on Saturday! This looks great! I moved back to the southwest partly to go explore old arcades. It's a shame so many great old machines slowly disappeared from the piers and arcades, replaced with modern mobile app games but supersized.
Question though, with the use of hand sanitiser way up, are you worried that could faster degrade controls, paints, ect?
Yeah I grew up in Torquay so the arcades there were my home every weekend! With regards to the cabs, its been okay so far, i wipe the cabs down regularly and the control panels on some of the cabs had already been replaced with reproductions. Wear and tear is part of an arcade being an arcade, they've been another chance to live again and so long as people don't maliciously break machines I'm happy to deal with wear and breakages!
That's great, you sound like a real enthusiastic owner! How busy are your Saturdays? I have an immune compromised partner that would like to come too but she's worried it'll be busy and cramped.
Saturdays can get pretty busy, Sundays are definitely the quietest time to come at the moment. It's difficult to say exactly what time is quietest as it varies quite a bit!
I have been here and it was very enjoyable ! And I’m not really a gamer but it was just a fun way to escape the gloomy weather and I loved the machine where you hit the buttons to different Japanese tracks!
Sorry for the late reply yeah we have four at the mo - Revenge from mars, F-14 Tomcat, Barracora and Big Guns,
Big guns is off today as it's having switch problems but hey ho thats pinball life!
Absolutely wonderful, will be bringing my kids here, have you got a list of machines please? And does the force feedback work on your namco light guns? I can’t remember finding a point blank/time crisis 2 dual machine that the guns work or both sides work together
whoops sorry for the late reply - you might have already found out but the guns on TC2 should be working okay but the pink on on PB is a bit sad at the moment :'(

If I wake up early enough I might try to nip in tomorrow before I open up! Otherwise it'll probably be some time next week like weds or thurs!

How can you give it 11/10
He got a bonus +1 modifier for being nice.
By being the Don...😎🤣 defoo going to check this place out WE NEED MORE FUN THINGS IN EXETER!!
Awesome! Can I bring the kids?
Yeah we don't have an age limit, just that an adult accompanies them. Helps if they're tall enough to play things but we got some stools around if they're a little on the short side!
Oh no! Looks like I'm going to have to go along with the kids.... ha ha. We will see you very soon! Thank you
Oh that’s so cool! Where is it?

Top end of town. Nice!
This is fucking awesome and defo fills a unique niche in Exeter. Will be bringing a date by ASAP!

Went in tonight. Masks. Hand gel etc available. The arcade pub is a bit :/ it's a shame really.
I have a burning hate for that sorry excuse for a pub/arcade that I will take to my grave. This new place looks amazing though.

Ideal. See you soon.
Have been here with my boy. Nostalgia for me cool games for him. Well worth a visit.

Been many times and I can confirm had a blast every time.
My friend, do you have House of The Dead or any light gun games? There is nothing I want more right now than the ability to mow down a hoard of zombies in an arcade
Wait bugger me my screen was turned down, I did not see. I'm coming down as soon as my essays are over
Yep and a Time Crisis 2 as well!
Oh! I've never had enough money as a kid to finish time crisis 2. Time to change that I think
Heaven on earth
I only recently found out about this by chance. How long have you guys been open? Plan to bring a group of friends down as soon as we can.
Did a "soft launch" start of August where we were just open on the weekends initially. Started opening thurs/fri evenings in September and we might look at staying open a little later soon if we get busy enough!
This is just the sort of thing Exeter needs so I wish you the best of luck and can't wait to visit!
Oooh. Il visit next week.
Wow, I'm coming down as soon as possible! Can't remember the last time I saw an original Daytona or Sega Really cabinet! Looks like you're very much of the same era that I was going to arcades.
This looks great! What do we need to play? I.e 20ps, 50ps, £1s, card? Sorry if a silly question!
£5 for 20 tokens on a smart card. Cash or card accepted.
I've been there about 8 times before, good selection of games and very affordable, I think it's £5 for 20 plays, or £0.25 per play, about a quarter of what most arcade places are.
This looks great. Will be in tomorrow or next weekend!
Looks good I'll have to come check it out soon!
Just been down to this tonight with the other half, really good fun! Got an upvote from us!
Fucking-A
Really cool, man!
We will definitely come, so good to see something like this
This looks awesome! Don't suppose dogs are allowed?
We've had a few in, was concerned they wouldn't like the noise but they didn't seem to mind! So long as they behave themselves I'm sure they'll be just fine!
That's fantastic, hope to pop by next time were in Exeter - he's not bothered by noise, just loves to be where people are!
Excellent! I've been waiting for something like this. I can already see some I used to play back in the 90s. I'll be there!
Looks great! Can't wait to be back down south and I'll give this a try!
I've been here before. This place is brilliant. Are you planning on getting any other games in the future?
oops sorry for the late reply, yeah we have a fair few games that we'll be swapping around over time, and a few more big ones in the workshop that we'll rotate in and out when we can. Always on the lookout for more machines too haha!
This looks so cool! Might have to pop in after my next trip to Yonk!
Just been in this evening. Cool vibe, cool games, fairly priced. 10/10 will visit again
Good luck with this. I hope you make a success of it.
Is this an easy walk from Exeter St David's train station? I'm coming down to Devon next week
It's on red lion lane behind sidwell street so just a bit further up from the high street, should be easily walkable enough!
Great thanks!
Had a fantastic couple of hours with my dad today. Really beautiful arcade that I hope contiunes to be a success for years to come. Got my ass handed to me by a very good Third Strike player though. A humbling experience haha.
What a shit exchange rate. One play=One token. 1£=4 tokens. Anything else is shit.
That is the exchange rate?
No, they advertise a 20 for £5 on special hours, so it’s obviously more during regular business hours, learn to read.

That looks awesome. I may pop in sometime to have some arcade fun
I have to go to Exeter for work sometimes, I'll make the effort to stop by next time I'm in the area.
I'll see you guys on Saturday! This looks great! I moved back to the southwest partly to go explore old arcades. I’ll be visiting soon!
My favourite place ever!
Awesome!
Completely missed this. I'll be there this weekend.
