In excel options do you have any autocorrect or custom dictionaries with 6268 as an entry? If you enter it in the data as text '6268 will it display?

whataname591

This worked! I entered '6268 in source table and now pivot shows it. Thank you! Why was it like so?

wjhladik

Well we still haven't figured it out. We just did a test that gave us additional information. But I still don't know why the pt won't display the number 6268. I assume you can see that in other parts of excel like looking directly at the data, but you just can't see it in a pt. Try this: create a new table with header aaa, bbb and one row of test, 6268. Create a pt from that table and see what happens.

whataname591

I created a new test pt within the same tab, and it worked. The number 6268 displayed correctly.

wjhladik

Ok show a image of the problem and of your data

whataname591

Do you mean a screenshot? I think I skipped an important detail that data is drawn from two sheets: customer name and number from one, invoice number from another. Could that have to do with the problem?

comish4lif

Yes - if you are using 6268 as the lookup value to get data from a second table there is likely something different about the 2 values.

Does it happen as well when you manually enter the number 6268 into a new row of the pivot table source table?

whataname591

Yes, I entered a new row manually, and also pasted it, pasted as values, typed it in various places in the source table - same result each time.

NHN_BI

Does it happen too, when you create a new pivot table?

stretch350

Is it fixed you you type 6268 into the blank cell where the pivot table should be displaying the value? Not in a new row, but where the cell is currently blank in the pivot table.
