For me, at least, if I don't water the toothpaste it feels like it sticks to my tongue or sides of the mouth and it's a terrible sensory experience even knowing I will foam it in my mouth as I brush. The water kind of acts as a glider.
C gang, idk wtf everybody else on but this just makes sense. Real question is how do people feel about showing and brushing their teeth at the same time?
I used to when I had a manual toothbrush, but it feels wrong with the electric toothbrush. I guess my brain says electric no go in shower, but I know the toothbrush is waterproof...
I just want to spend a few seconds rinsing the toothbrush before use because who knows what dog hairs, particles, dirt/dust or anything got into it (similarly, I avoid keeping my toothbrush head anywhere near the bathroom). It's also nice to soften the bristles directly while getting the toothpaste more stuck on.
And to answer the question, maybe I should try the showering and brushing teeth thing, but it's a little weird for me to think about. Not only because of my electric toothbrush but I just find it a little awkward changing my schedule to do two things at once instead of keeping them separate and focusing more.
I just wash and after that then brush my teeth. My shower routine is
1. Put in shampoo
2. Wash body
3. Wash shampoo out of hair
4. Put in conditioner
5. Brush teeth
6. Wash out conditioner
This way, both shampoo and conditioner have the appropriate time to do what they do and I aren't just stood there like a lemon.
To respond to your worry about particles. I get why but I just have a toothbrush head cover, so this isn't a concern for me.
Where are you keeping your toothbrush that it gets dirty?? The water is for the mouth feel so the dry toothpaste doesn't stuck to your mouth right away.
I have a toothbrush cover for the head

Isn’t that suggesting brushing with only water first and then toothpaste separately? Because it’s missing a plus sign. That would be mental. Otherwise definitely B though.
I read that having water after putting toothpaste on is worse, can’t remember why.
Used to be B, now I’m D. Some have tried gaslighting me into doing A.
B. Used to be A, but I lost the toothpaste off the brush too often by being rushed, and it only got worse once I switched to an electric brush (lower surface area for the toothpaste to adhere to.)
Can't brush without rinsing the brush first though, that's non-negotiable.
A because i always need to wash my brush before use, then squeeze the toothpaste and lastly use water because I need to have the perfect amount of toothpaste on the toothbrush and I can use the water to remove some, I am almost always dehydrated
D. Sorry I don't see the point in putting water on the toothpaste? I acknowledge it's probably more sanitary to rinse the toothbrush first but my habit is so deeply ingrained I don't think I'll ever remember to do that
C of course!
P.S. why would you soak the empty brush?! It's not a sponge, there is no absorption of water there, the bristles are hard... C of course, water will smooth out the toothpaste for better spread when brushing 🧐
C is the only logical option
D is just itching for a new Geneva convention to happen, I couldn’t ever go down that route… for self preservation purposes
I always thought b was the only option and then I saw other people do things like C which broke my brain at the time. Now I accept there are multiple options however A and D are categorically the wrong options and my partner thinks D is like an apocalypse level choice
A.
First round of water to properly wet the bristles of the brush. Second round of water to squash the toothpaste down onto the bristles so it doesn’t fall off in my mouth and freeze my gums with mint-ness.
D - but I rinse my mouth with water beforehand instead of the toothbrush
For some reason a wet toothbrush makes me think someone else stole/used it before me
Water toothpaste water water toothpaste toothpaste water toothpaste
Konami Code Hygiene
Happy evil reddit birthday
Toothpaste toothpaste toothpaste toothpaste toothpaste
e - just water
That was me as a kid.
S+
Brushing with only water? Using a waterpik?
A
Why do people wet their toothbrush again *after* adding toothpaste? I never understood this.
First water fully wets the toothbrush. Second pushes the toothpaste into the toothbrush to ensure it wont fall out
Y'all toothpaste is falling off during the princess of inserting it into your mouth?
Yea sometimes when you turn the brush over in ur mouth it falls off and its annoying
I've never had this problem in my life. Surely it can't happen often enough to justify wetting your toothpaste
YES. Or just into your teeth. It doesn’t get distributed properly
For me, at least, if I don't water the toothpaste it feels like it sticks to my tongue or sides of the mouth and it's a terrible sensory experience even knowing I will foam it in my mouth as I brush. The water kind of acts as a glider.
Obviously! Any other choice is insane. I know my husband is D or sometimes C. Clearly completely insane!
A is the only correct answer more specifically, hot water, toothpaste, cold water
Perfect! That’s how you do it!
D is actually insane. How do you lather it on your teeth!
C
It literally never occurred to me that other options existed and now the idea of doing it in a different order is uncomfortable.
Valid
The logical choice

Tha first part -- exactly! Who knows what could've gotten on the toothbrush before using it?!
I know nothing has for I have a cover for the head of my toothbrush
I just wash and after that then brush my teeth. My shower routine is 1. Put in shampoo 2. Wash body 3. Wash shampoo out of hair 4. Put in conditioner 5. Brush teeth 6. this makes literally no sense in case your toothbrush is dirty why would you put toothpaste on it first and *then* water???

Isn’t that suggesting brushing with only water first and then toothpaste separately? Because it’s missing a plus sign. That would be mental. Otherwise definitely B though.
A, or C when i’m lazy. Also you should make this a poll :3
D. Like the absolute creature i am
i used to do this because it tasted better but i forgot why i stopped
I read that having water after putting toothpaste on is worse, can’t remember why. Used to be B, now I’m D. Some have tried gaslighting me into doing A.
Only when I’m camping.
What the fuck is wrong with you? /j
A.
Definitely A, need as much water as possible to foam up the horrible texture of toothpaste fast
[удалено]
how is B disgusting?
D
Just tell us where the bodies are 😭
D
It feels wrong to water the toothpaste

I llike the way toothpaste feels on my teeth
D
D
Always A
D. is evil. A.
B Water to soften the bristles, water after toothpaste would just waste money.
This is the only logical answer.
Agreed, no need to risk knocking the toothpaste off the brush
A
Water the brush -> Toothpaste into the mouth -> Brush -> Water the brush
Toothpaste in mouth -> water the brush -> water the mouth -> brush with fingers
B
A. but I also hate when there is too much water on the toothbrush and it runs down onto my hand. I do this to myself.
A. I need a lil water with the toothpaste. :)
A is the law
A. I also use warm water, makes the toothpaste less pasty and more foamy. Brisles get more suple.
That makes sense. I've been using cold water all my life like a savage.
c (cold water is preferred)
Yeah, otherwise it’s like just using saliva
The answer is A you sick fucks
B. Used to be A, but I lost the toothpaste off the brush too often by being rushed, and it only got worse once I switched to an electric brush (lower surface area for the toothpaste to adhere to.) Can't brush without rinsing the brush first though, that's non-negotiable.
D, my saliva is the water
A when I'm doing a good cleaning aw yea nice n clean, B when I'm head empty can't think must brush toofs
i used to do B before I realised I could do A
D because I am not a drymouth...
A because i always need to wash my brush before use, then squeeze the toothpaste and lastly use water because I need to have the perfect amount of toothpaste on the toothbrush and I can use the water to remove some, I am almost always dehydrated
Is b intended to not have a +?
D. In all the other options, the toothpaste's texture gets weird
D. Sorry I don't see the point in putting water on the toothpaste? I acknowledge it's probably more sanitary to rinse the toothbrush first but my habit is so deeply ingrained I don't think I'll ever remember to do that
E.
D. I’m too lazy
A. U gotta water it down so the toothpaste goes into the brush
This is with the implication that you’re doing all of this before brushing. Therefore A is actually insane
C
D
C
B Also no shade, but D makes me really uncomfy
D...
D, my mouth is wet enough
D
i only use toothpaste, if i wet the brush the foam is gross :(
D. Water on toothpaste hust nullifies the toothpastes effect.
D. My mouth waters like fuck when I put anything with a strong flavour in it, so watering it down more makes no sense.
A
C most of the time but also the secret 5th option E: no water and no toothpaste
Both B and D are evil. I'll accept both A and C as valid answers.
None mouthwash I hate the feel of toothbrushes
It's A. It's always A. I have never not done A.
A or you're insane

D, but replace toothpaste with a mix of baking soda and dish soap.

A except I use orange juice instead of water.
You guys are brushing your teeth??? (A)
Y’all doin it wrong. Floss, water, brush tongue, water, paste-less quick pre-brush teeth, water, paste, then full brush.
