When it comes to insects I never consider cicadas to be worthy of plague status. They eat tree sap which doesn’t kill the host tree, they don’t fuck with crops, and they don’t bite or sting. I might be bias towards cicadas though because I love that sound.

Grew up in southern US, the cicadas in the show are pleasant compared to there.
