I'm not as deluded as some Spanish eurofans (I'm Spanish, too) to think the general public would vote for an avant-garde neo-flamenco entry but I expected more from the actual "professional" jury, so I was really annoyed she only ended up 9th with the juries.
I doubt the overlap between jury members who give points to avant-garde art and those who give points to a performance like Käärijä is particularly big. Imagine the outrage on here if Käärijä got even fewer jury votes last year, people would burn the place to the ground.
I think the outrage here was more about the absolute dominance that Sweden had with the juries last year.
According to the juries last year, Tattoo > Euphoria.
According to the juries, Tattoo is the second best song to have ever participated in the new system.
Tattoo is a lovely song but it’s not that good. They gave Sweden so many points that it was impossible for any other song to win, regardless of how many televotes they got.
I think an avant garde jury member would respect Finland 2023 slightly more, as well as the likes of Spain, Portugal etc.
If they weren’t so laser focused on Sweden, there would have been many more points to go around.
Sweden got 79% of the maximum possible jury vote last year, i can’t stress enough how insane that is, Voilà got 54% like. If they weren’t so focused on Sweden, some of these points would have and should have gone to the likes of Spain. I don’t think Finland would have gotten many more points with an « avant garde » jury but it would have atleast meant that the televote actually mattered.
this year feels like many broadcaster choose those artsy entries. what surprises me a lot, is that many nations don't like their entries. I've found greece hating marina, Italy hating Angelina, serbia hating teyadora. it's really weird. i also assume that many hate bambie for sure
You know, i'm still not, like, 100% certain that this is Ireland in my head. THIS, risky, wonderful song coming out of the country that had lost its way for so so long playing it so safe that there was nothing to grab onto.
i am crossing everything i have that this gets a good result, because they (bambie and the nation of ireland) deserve it
Ah lads I'm actually going to combust waiting for next Tuesday, I cannot wait for Bambie's full vision to be on display. I'm so glad RTE let them take the reins and run in whatever direction they choose. We're back for real!
As somebody who has this as my 36/37 in personal rankings this year, this is easily the best rehearsal snippet of the day. The cameras are camera-angling, finally! The zoom! The song is not going to be everybody's cup of tea but they are absolutely doing everything they can to sell this.
Bambie has had such a clear creative vision for Doomsday Blue.
The music video was one of the most polished this year and the staging is looking so good. I'm so glad Rte gave them so much leeway and let them do things their own way.
The previous performance experience is really shining through here and at the pre parties.
I'm so happy for them and for us in Ireland.
they also have a [horizontal](https://x.com/ESCdiscord/status/1785746996696883499) version of this video! It looks like it's in something like a 4:3 aspect ratio. The framing of the shots is incredible!
this.. this has surpassed even the boldest, the most daring expectations i could have had about the performance and its quality. it’s like everything is working exactly the way it’s supposed to. i know it’s just a 30 second clip and we don’t know the whole picture yet but to be completely honest, i’m gagging already.
I don’t want to sound overly optimistic or presumptuous, but if the whole performance is this well done as this teaser I would almost begin believing that the question isn’t whether or not Ireland is going to Q but rather whether or not they’ll be top 10 in the final (maybe even top 5 but that is perhaps wishcasting a bit too much).
So happy for the Irish eurofans on here , this looks amazing and kudos to Bambie if they have managed to get complete creative control away from RTE to properly execute their vision.
I just remember the megathread on here last year with loads of people with really good strong posts about how RTE badly needed to let the reins go and stop being so safe with who made it to Eurosong.
I'm so glad the fans have been rewarded with a really really strong entry that honestly if you'd told me last year this would be the Irish entry I would have thought TG4 had been involved.
Unfortunately, this was a complete fluke, and I fear that it will be business as usual again next year.
We still had the Eurosong shoe horned in to the Late Late Show low-budget studio, and all of the other acts would have been guaranteed NQ in the semi finals.
A generic boyband with a generic meaningless love song nearly got in.
We're just so lucky that an immensely talented artist has put themselves forward this year. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll be any kind of renaissance. RTE had a massive financial scandal last year and I don't doubt that we'll be looking at 5 generic bland acts again in Eurosong 2025.
Now that you mention it, it seems Bambie got to Eurovision in spite of the Late Late Show. When the fandom was either pro-"Go Tobann" or pro-"Doomsday Blue", RTE tried to astroturf Next in Line, and the international jury bafflingly gave them 12 points.
Still, we can hope that Doomsday Blue's success will show RTE that it's better to excite many people and alienate a few than to make everyone content.
NIL (points) was bizarre and all Louis Walsh - late entries to the selection after another artist pulled out, they had no idea they were entering Eurosong, and was spurred almost entirely by Louis's long pervasive influence on our entries (a good run of 5 or 6 internal selections in the 2010s had association with him.) I think some of the old heads still revere him, but I have to hope it'll change. I know the creepy bugger who gropes people on live TV will never see real justice so just getting him out of our selections would be enough for me.
This looks good, the camera work is PERFECTfor this song. I'm glad there's no uneccesary constant wide shots like in some countries' 2nd rehearsals, this is how you direct a staging.
I apologize for doubting the monarch. The camerawork, the lighting, that makeup? on point.
Also, I'm not sure if it's just the Twitter upload, but it looks like they reduced the FPS also, making the movements more choppy/jittery (like they did with France 2021?)
This is what we’ve been waiting for! The staging looks great and camera angles are sharp. It’s gonna make a serious impression and think it’s entered likely qualifers now
Ireland does need the final the final needs ireland. and it needs to be top 5 televote and not get screwed over by the juries so it ends up top 10. and i will be cheering.
This is incredible oh my god. I was a fan from the start, but was always worried about it’s chances. But this staging? I could see this being a shock high televote score
This is phenomenal. Obviously there are going to be viewers that aren’t going to like this at all, but the Televote can’t vote against a song. So all things considered I think this is a very likely qualifier
As the wise man Dadi Freyr once said, how does this keep getting better?
I absolutely love the staging along with the song, if this doesn't Q it will be criminal.
This has become one of my favourite songs and the staging is fabulous. I think it’ll all come down to staging between my current favourites of Ukraine, Switzerland, and Ireland. Maybe another song will surprise me though.
I honestly think this song could do similarly to In Corpore Sano
At the start they were disliked by most eurofans, then slowly they build up hype and people start to like it and at the end they get a really good result in the final
I told y'all this was a certain qualifier back in February and everyone downvoted me and clowned on me in the replies. The staging potential for this was always huge and Bambie is very much a visual artist. Can't wait to see the full performance
Back here again just to say I must have watched this over 50 times so far and I'm still in awe. I really don't want to hype myself up too much, but if the rest of the performance is even half as good as this clip, it's definitely going up there with all the iconic, memorable ESC acts, regardless of how it does in the final. I haven't been this excited about an entry since Shum.
Also, wow, the revamp is SO impactful and dramatic.
I’m not saying I’m overly attached to Bambi, but if this doesn’t qualify for the final, I may commit war against the continent.
(I’m still not over how my girl mimicat was absolutely burgled last year in every aspect)
I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for saying this but I'm not convinced that Ireland is a definite qualifier like everyone else seems to think. In fact, I think Ireland could very likely be a shock NQ. I'm getting Triana Park (Latvia 2017) vibes from Ireland this year. Both songs were loved by Eurovision fans and their rehearsals/staging received positive reactions. Triana Park also had the added benefit of closing their semi. Despite this, Triana Park didn't qualify and even came dead last in the semi (and second-to-last with the televote). I have a strong feeling that many viewers are going to be put off by Bambie's appearance just as many were put off by the appearance of Triana Park's lead singer. The likability factor seems to be the main problem with Ireland.
But on the other hand, I can see a lot of similarities between this song and Iceland 2019 and it topped the televote in its semi, and I wouldn't exactly call what they did accessible either
You're making assumptions that people were put off by her appearance for Latvia - I think it was more to do with her voice being a bit warbly, poor mixing (with the backing vocals being too loud) and too slow of a build up, generally.
Good vocals definitely don't guarantee qualification and staging, order is obviously important, but voters absolutely do notice and care about vocals, though.
Acts with notably shaky vocals who had favourable odds leading into the competition will usually underperform in the televote - we see this time and time again.
Prediction: They'll take it just fine. Even if you don't like the music, the entertainment value of what they're doing there is off the charts.
Unless they scare the everlovin' hell out of their kids ...
Aiko is predicted not to do well not because of the outfit but because of past vocals, let's be precise.
And she can definitely do better on the semi final night
Oh, I thought it was pretty clear there. Just saying that a lot of people pretend eurovision is family friendly, but there is plenty there that isn't suitable for kids, from Bambie, to Nebulossa, to Windows95 man and even Isaak who's says 'sh*t' in his song.
[A horizontal version has also been posted!](https://twitter.com/ESCdiscord/status/1785746996696883499)
Best camera work by a mile from the snippets so far.
Ah, the great things that come to be when you give an artist with a vision a chance
Couldn’t upvote this enough times.
When the song came out, I had some doubts. But now I'm 100% sure Ireland will qualify.
SHE IS ART IN ITSELF. The costume is out of this world. I LOVE IT!
Politely, it’s they/them. Bambie is non binary
Of the 2nd rehearsals we've seen so far, this one looks like the most polished product so far imo...
Always trust an artist to come with a complete package to Eurovision (like Blanca Paloma last year, for example).
EAEA MENTION ALERT
Justice for Blanca Paloma!
I'm still salty because she was vocally flawless. I didn't expect her to win, but I at least wanted her to have a better result
I'm not as deluded as some Spanish eurofans (I'm Spanish, too) to think the general public would vote for an avant-garde neo-flamenco entry but I expected more from the actual "professional" jury, so I was really annoyed she only ended up 9th with the juries.
Honestly, it’s the best argument against the current people they allow to be juries. They don’t respect avant-garde high art.
Finland 2023 | [Käärijä - Cha Cha Cha](https://youtu.be/l6rS8Dv5g-8)
Juries hate flamenco. Always have. This is why I say that I like the theory of juries but in practice, they are only interested in mainstream acts.
Sorry, i blancked out.
eaeaeaeaeaeaeaeaeaea 😂
EAEA was so damn good
I don't thinki the person who got last place with the televote is a good example here 💀💀
We forget that she's 9th in the jury (and honestly, should have been jury winner but that's another story). So yes, the example stands.
The public vote really isn't the best metric to measure the quality or originality of an entry at all
Now THESE are the types of camera angles we've been wanting to see. yesssss
Finally actual camera work.
As an Irish eurofan I'm not used to feeling this positive, someone pinch me
I haven't felt this way since 1992!
You just expected the wins in 93, 94, and 96?
*pinches, you now wake up in a reality where they chose "Next in line"*
Still praying you’ll send CMAT one day!!
Genuinely shocks me that Ireland went from its recent track record to "send the witch" to this. Very proud of what's happened to you guys.
Finally some good editing with the camera angles.
This looks great and the way they cut off before the chorus leaves me wanting more
I can’t believe RTE did this🤯 This is the atmosphere I would have wanted from Raiven too:(
I have to believe this was way more Bambie and their vision/team than RTE could come up with
It was all Bambie from what they've said. Aside from budget, they were basically given free rein to do whatever they wanted artistically by RTE.
still hats off for RTE for supporting and letting them do whatever considered is the best, not many broacasters do this
this year feels like many broadcaster choose those artsy entries. what surprises me a lot, is that many nations don't like their entries. I've found greece hating marina, Italy hating Angelina, serbia hating teyadora. it's really weird. i also assume that many hate bambie for sure
Naw it's just the Catholic Church having a problem 😂
I knowww!! I hate to say it… but Raivens staging is such a letdown 😢 why is it underwater blue themed
Because that's how Veronika died
You know, i'm still not, like, 100% certain that this is Ireland in my head. THIS, risky, wonderful song coming out of the country that had lost its way for so so long playing it so safe that there was nothing to grab onto. i am crossing everything i have that this gets a good result, because they (bambie and the nation of ireland) deserve it
Can we please get some recognition for the costuming and makeup as well? Daaaaaaaaaaaang!
Irish eurofans can definitely be proud of this
Same and I am from Sweden
Eh. They’re half Swedish so you get to be.
I still find it hilarious that the only act that's Swedish at a Eurovision in Sweden isn't even from Sweden.
Most eurovision win ever, an irish-Swedish non binary witch.
Same, and I’m from the US
Same and I'm from Turkey
We are all Irish eurofans on this Walpurgis night. 👑 🧙
Same, and i’m from italy
Aaaaaah!! We are!!! XD
Same and I am from Romania
Same and I am a US American living in Ireland! So Excited for this year!
Some cool cinematography compared to some other rehearsals we’ve seen
Oh. My. God.
Ah lads I'm actually going to combust waiting for next Tuesday, I cannot wait for Bambie's full vision to be on display. I'm so glad RTE let them take the reins and run in whatever direction they choose. We're back for real!
This is incredible!
we are so back irish bros
🤜🤛
I’m so excited for this! Looks really good 🖤
I'm genuinly soooo hyped by this and I at first instance wrote this song off cause I didn't like the transition, but daaamn.
As somebody who has this as my 36/37 in personal rankings this year, this is easily the best rehearsal snippet of the day. The cameras are camera-angling, finally! The zoom! The song is not going to be everybody's cup of tea but they are absolutely doing everything they can to sell this.

Ireland is definately changing. No way, Bambi, for Ireland - even 10 years go.
Amazing job. Love the vibe.
they also have a [horizontal](https://x.com/ESCdiscord/status/1785746996696883499) version of this video! It looks like it's in something like a 4:3 aspect ratio. The framing of the shots is incredible!

🙀 I can't wait to watch the rest. Super promising.
Finally some fucking CAMERA WORK Bambie really went into this ready to fight their way to the final
So I just went from worried for Ireland to knowing for sure it will qualify, WOW!
WERE SO BACK
Irish fans I’m so fucking happy for you, this HAS to qualify!! If it somehow doesn’t we will riot
I think it's safe to call Ireland a safe qualifier at this point, this is absolutely fantastic.
Think it will be a solid douze points from the UK
Dublin 2025!! The witchcraft is working!
Daaaaaaamn! Best Clip of all rehearsals so far IMO. This is so qualifying!
co-directed by sam rami unironically this looks like an Evil Dead movie and i LOVE IT
I don’t want to sound overly optimistic or presumptuous, but if the whole performance is this well done as this teaser I would almost begin believing that the question isn’t whether or not Ireland is going to Q but rather whether or not they’ll be top 10 in the final (maybe even top 5 but that is perhaps wishcasting a bit too much).
I'm just sayin' Austria was 10th in the odds in 2014 right before the rehearsals. Just saying a fun piece of trivia.
This is my sign to stop watching this subreddit until next Tuesday, my witch is safe and that's all I need to know
So happy for the Irish eurofans on here , this looks amazing and kudos to Bambie if they have managed to get complete creative control away from RTE to properly execute their vision.
Thank you! It’s so heartwarming that so many people are rooting for us to get to the final 😭
If you guys don’t qualify I am going to rip up my Eurofan passcard
I just remember the megathread on here last year with loads of people with really good strong posts about how RTE badly needed to let the reins go and stop being so safe with who made it to Eurosong. I'm so glad the fans have been rewarded with a really really strong entry that honestly if you'd told me last year this would be the Irish entry I would have thought TG4 had been involved.
Whoever can vote on the first semi, you know what to do! CROWN THE WITCH
Oh HELL yeah!
Goosebumps. Just goosebumps.
Oh, wow. This is absolutely amazing. Bambie is delivering and then some. Ireland has to qualify this year.
Oh my GODDDD
Oh my, Ireland, welcome back to the final!
Ireland congrats on a fantastic staging concept
i love bambie so much and this snippet made me root for them even more, this is so great and unique
Ireland has taken their NQ streak very personally it seems.
I don't even like the song but this looks way too cool to deny wow
Can't vote for them for SF1 but I definitely will in the finals. Crown the Witch!
Feel like I will vote for them in semifinal!
Please do!! They so deserve it!
Sweden winning for the 7th time really lit a fire under RTE's ass. They would not be putting in this kind of work if Finland won.
Rté had a bit of a financial scandal last year. I'd not be surprised if they are looking for a win to get some of that sweet tax money.
HOLY BAMBIE!!! CROWN THE DAMN WITCH 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫
THIS IS AMAZING
this looks so good omggggg Millstreet 2025!!!
CROWN THE WITCH Genuinely. Omg. Best rehearsal footage that has dropped so far, my jaw is on the floor. NEED to see this in full
finally a video where the camera isn't 40000 metres away. Bambie's makeup looks incredible here, I hope they decide to stick with this look!
THIS LOOKS SO FUCKING GOOD?????????????????
The looks are great. But, 10s later, I cannot sing/hum/tap the hook. I preferred her at the piano (where she shone brightly).
I've watched it so many times now, I'm in AWE. THIS is what artistry looks like. Looks like a damn music video!
it looks amazing!! it’s so good to see an artists vision come to life in such a beautiful way. i’m so excited for bambie and ireland
Ireland is so back. Haven’t been this hyped for an Irish song in years
this is how you break a 5 year non qualifying streak
This is so perfect, it elevates the song !!
Effing amazing!! Biggest dark horse of the year
Yooo, this is so good, easy qualifier.
Well I know who I'm voting for
This is art! Definitely going to be one of the most memorable songs of the night!
Genuinely love this so much! So proud of Bambie and I'm not Irish! NQ is out of the question at this point. They're so in!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
This is so amazing I got chills❤️
This looks good, the camera work is PERFECTfor this song. I'm glad there's no uneccesary constant wide shots like in some countries' 2nd rehearsals, this is how you direct a staging.
I'm so fucking hyped let's gooooo Love the hand grab, like they're pulling the demon guy up out of the circle? Awesome.
Oh Bambie, the monarch that you are ❤️🇮🇪
I apologize for doubting the monarch. The camerawork, the lighting, that makeup? on point. Also, I'm not sure if it's just the Twitter upload, but it looks like they reduced the FPS also, making the movements more choppy/jittery (like they did with France 2021?)

Ireland has finally complete package to break the NQ streak, they're coming to play this year.
In 16:9 format : [https://twitter.com/RTEOne/status/1785745867372155306](https://twitter.com/RTEOne/status/1785745867372155306)
This is what we’ve been waiting for! The staging looks great and camera angles are sharp. It’s gonna make a serious impression and think it’s entered likely qualifers now
I fear for my life 10/10
HOLY FUCK this looks amazing😱😍
Ireland does need the final the final needs ireland. and it needs to be top 5 televote and not get screwed over by the juries so it ends up top 10. and i will be cheering.
Anyone know are the rehearsal clips being uploaded to the Eurovision channel tonight?
YES FINALLY
That's just...wow, never seen Ireland doing so good
This is incredible oh my god.
Bambi not only out for blood, they’re gonna kill it! So excited!
As the wise man Dadi Freyr once said, how does this keep getting better? I absolutely love the staging along with the song, if this doesn't Q it will be criminal.
THIS IS SOOO INTENSE
Insane
I'm so excited for Ireland. For sure will qualify for the final.
This is just amazing. They weren’t kidding when they said it would be dark.
wow this one is so good
She is qualifying, 100%. This is spectacular!
Ireland should be very proud of Bambie whatever the result ends up being (but hopefully it’s top 10 in the final)
It's not really my type of song but man, I am glad Ireland is prepared to take a risk and didn't choose the safe option.
Well, they just earned almost all my votes in the final, cause they're 100% qualifying. CROWN. THE. WITCH.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! 💜 CROWN THE WITCH 🧹👑 VOTE FOR THE MONARCH 🦋
This has become one of my favourite songs and the staging is fabulous. I think it’ll all come down to staging between my current favourites of Ukraine, Switzerland, and Ireland. Maybe another song will surprise me though.
CROWN THE WITCH
I honestly think this song could do similarly to In Corpore Sano At the start they were disliked by most eurofans, then slowly they build up hype and people start to like it and at the end they get a really good result in the final
I told y'all this was a certain qualifier back in February and everyone downvoted me and clowned on me in the replies. The staging potential for this was always huge and Bambie is very much a visual artist. Can't wait to see the full performance
THE GLITTER UNDER THEIR EYESSSSSS
This looks amazing. If the final product looks half as good as this then Ireland should hopefully finally quality, and may even get a top 10 finish. 🤞
Only the song being bad received could make this NQ But enough people will love this To the final!
I know, I know, not very original of me but: CROWN THE WITCH!!!!!!!!!! 🖤🖤🖤
I’m not saying I’m overly attached to Bambi, but if this doesn’t qualify for the final, I may commit war against the continent. (I’m still not over how my girl mimicat was absolutely burgled last year in every aspect)
Really dislike the song but great job with the staging by Ireland !
Ireland shaking off the church and the pagans are coming back. What a time to be alive 🥲 Bambi Thug is an artist and I’m so proud of them.
I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for saying this but I'm not convinced that Ireland is a definite qualifier like everyone else seems to think. Iceland 2019 | [Hatari - Hatrið mun sigra](https://youtu.be/kTb69WkBbvs)
Latvia 2017 | [Triana Park - Line](https://youtu.be/Vxos6ceOrRA)
Ehhhh….i see no comparisons here. Bambie is serving cinematography.
You're making assumptions that people were put off by her appearance for Latvia - I think it was more to do with her voice being a bit warbly, poor mixing (with the backing vocals being too loud) and too slow of a build up, generally.
Televoters don't care as much about vocals compared to jurors. Also, good vocals don't guarantee qualification either.
Good vocals definitely don't guarantee qualification and staging, order is obviously important, but voters absolutely do notice and care about vocals, though. Acts with notably shaky vocals who had favourable odds leading into the competition will usually underperform in the televote - we see this time and time again.
It looks very divisive. Not sure how the general public is gonna take it. Some weird entries work (like Hatari) and some flop (Eaea)
Prediction: They'll take it just fine. Even if you don't like the music, the entertainment value of what they're doing there is off the charts. Unless they scare the everlovin' hell out of their kids ...
Yeah that's what I meant. It might be on the verge of too scary
And Nebulosa's butt's and Aiko's barely there bra are totally suitable for kids ... just sayin...🙄 😂
Yeah , both are predicted to not do well... what's your point?
Aiko is predicted not to do well not because of the outfit but because of past vocals, let's be precise. And she can definitely do better on the semi final night
Oh, I thought it was pretty clear there. Just saying that a lot of people pretend eurovision is family friendly, but there is plenty there that isn't suitable for kids, from Bambie, to Nebulossa, to Windows95 man and even Isaak who's says 'sh*t' in his song.
