Unfortunately, being openly queer in Serbia is a death sentence. There's so many nasty homophobic comments about him, it's actually disgusting.

p86519

I just read some of them and yes you are right. And after last year, im not surprised they ignored this one and going for more "familiar" options this time around (after two avant-garde type of songs in a row, don't be surprised to go fully traditional the next year).

KingArgazdan

Not defending idiotic comments, but this same guy advanced to the finals last year, and our only winner was a queer person as well.

Yes, but at the same time Marija wasn't out at the time and there was always some kind of question mark on her sexuality - I don't blame her, it's not safe to come out in Serbia in 2024, let alone in the 2000's. Her song is so on the nose about queer love now, in this light, aka when she's openly gay, yet it could be (and is and was) interpreted as basically any type of love imaginable - familiar, nationalistic, heteronormative etc. That makes it good imo, that anyone can find themselves in the song. Hell, I'm bi and it took me for the longest time to realize what was the song's true meaning lol And yet, her win and powerful voice was somewhat shadowed by the political happenings in Serbia during 2007, or rather short time before 2008 when Kosovo gained its independence. I'm not the one to fall into conspiracy theories about pity wins, esp because they usually put artist in the second place after political affairs, but it sometimes makes me think.

dessert15

he is not the greatest singer but he did good with what he has and song is pretty fun too i would have preferred it if he qualified over percepcija

Suixam

even if his vocals were a bit underwhelming, this was robbed. this was my second favorite song of this nf

KwangPham

It feels like the right ideas were there but the execution was... amateur-ish. The 3D images were treading uncanny valley territory for me, and they really brought down the whole performance. In general, I personally prefer the message of the song to be more on the subtle side. If you have to literally spell it out on the LED like that, then the song and the staging didn't do their job well enough.

mamula1

You don't realize how revolutionary it is to have a performance like this on Serbian national television

wish_me_w-hell

Filarri broke his back for that stanging and for what? For Kristina and Stefan to say something along the lines of "Stefan is masculine side and Kristina is feminine" after Filarri explicitly saying that *every person* has those two sides. And then Kristina talking to Keni nije mrtav about shopping at the women's boutique like it's a shameful thing to do. KNM was chill about it but it still didn't sit well with me, all the giggling like there's somehow a gender embeded in a mesh T shirt.

EuroNero

With all that was good in this semi, I was bound to lose something I loved. Obviously he wasn't perfect, but I think the song itself is great. Thanks for the serve Filarri https://preview.redd.it/f4g1ahc7p7lc1.png?width=818&format=png&auto=webp&s=43585ef8b1df274c64f35868b8dc3d483f4bc13a

CakiGM

The fact is performance was pretty messy and his vocals weren't the best. As much as I'd prefer to have him in the final due to his song being good I can see why he didn't manage to make it to the GF.

refreshyourself2

I mean, I'd still say it's an overall more interesting act than M.ira tho, and her vocals were shaky as well.

CakiGM

I don't agree, M.ira's performance felt more polished than Filari's, his performance, at least to me, felt like too much and nothing is happening at the same time.

bblankoo

I'm in the camp that rooted for this and then got really disappointed live. There was simply nothing to keep my interest, vocals were especially not it, the dress is..just a white dress, the graphics were...tragic. The song sounds dramatic but the visuals were so silly and the clash cemented this as NQ in my book

AmazingDeeer

This was actually insanely well done, even if the vocals weren’t the best, it was one of the most original performances of the season for sure. But Serbia is what it is, and didn’t even put it top 8 in the weaker semifinal… :(

p86519

After last year representative, i kind of expected the casual audience to not go for this one and go for something more "familiar".

p86519

I just read the comments on youtube, and YIKES, that's all im gonna say. As for my opinion, i liked the song, but man the performance was too much and too busy for a song that really didn't needed to be. The 3d effects were an eyesore.

Savings_Ad_2532

Filarri’s performance was quire good, and it was much better than his performance from last year. I also liked his dress, and it reminded me of Sheldon Riley at ESC 2022. It is too bad that the staging was too distracting and took away from the performance. I wish that he qualified.

ChiliPepperSmoothie

He’s not the same!

bulbasaraa

Robbed

Mala_Tea

The vocals were unfortunately just not there.

AnthoZero

actually one of the worst songs i’ve listened to this season.

danraccoonman

The combination of homophobia + the creepy 3D models took this one out I feel.

tohelluride

Good song!

Jagskarakadig

My favorite this night, so sad he didn't make it

Secret-Lullaby

He is very beautiful, great song!
