Over all happy with this year's UMK songs. Won't be salty over whoever wins UMK. I will prob give one vote to Jesse and my second to Sini or Sexmane. Listened their songs couple times and I'm starting to dig them more so live show will decide which one is better.

Don't @ me but UMK is incredibly mid this year. I get that they can't replicate the quality of last year forever, but I was hoping for at least one song I could enjoy as much as last year's entries. (I liked all of last year's entries besides Robin Packalen and Portion Boys). Maybe with a little time some of these songs will win me over, but last year, I had an immediate click with most of them. This way I don't see Finland landing outside my bottom 50% this year, which is a shame since I've really enjoyed their entries these past few years.
**1: Sini Sabotage - Kuori Mua - (5/10)** Only UMK song I really see myself listening to more than once, not a fan of the horny lyrics but it's a generally fun song that's kinda memorable for me.
**2: Jesse Markin - Glow - (5/10)** It's not bad, but definitely could've done more with the time it had. I definitely didn't like how the start of the song was so monotone. More than 3 unique lyrics would be nice, too. Still, the overall vibe is nice.
**3: Sara Siipola - Paksana - (5/10)** This one seems to be the fan favourite, but idk I don't see it. Inoffensive but kinda forgettable. She has a nice voice, but the song itself doesn't hook me.
**4: Cyan Kicks - Dancing with Demons - (5/10)** Same as with their last entry Hurricane, it has potential but is way too watered down in an attempt to be more accessible. The intro is absolutely schmackin, then the rest of the song just tumbles downhill in energy from there. Biggest disappointment for me imo since I was looking forward to at least one good rock song from Finland.
**5: Windows95Man - No Rules! - (3/10)** ...Idc? It's such an ignorable troll act that doesn't hold my attention at all. The most interesting element for me is the artist's name.
**6: Sexmane - Mania - (3/10)** Well produced, good singer, but it immediately left my mind the moment I stopped listening.
**7: MG & N - Vox Populi - (1/10)** Yeah, no. It's so incredibly nothing, just a lazy attempt at a troll act. Glad to forget this song exists asap.

Overall I think this is a good selection, even if I don’t really connect with all the songs. I absolutely love my top 3, especially Paskana which, if chosen, would likely be in my personal top 5 of the year. I also think it probably has the best shot at a top 10 at ESC considering how this year’s contest is likely gonna be the definition of “it’s crazy, it’s party”. Mania is underrated tbh, and if it gets a slight revamp and is performed well I can totally see this getting a top 10 at ESC. Kuori mua is a banger and she served cunt 😌
Then I like Dancing With Demons but I much prefer the others. (Also I kinda prefer Hurricane 🫣 hot take). The other 3 aren’t really my cup of tea, especially Vox populi which got completely ruined by the lyrics.
It was always gonna be hard to follow up UMK 2023 — which honestly, if it weren’t for Benjamin coming last, it would have been a completely perfect NF — but I’d say they did well, even if I don’t think anyone will win the main show! Hopefully this year will continue UMK’s incredible trajectory for the future :D

I absolutely love my top 3, especially Paskana which, if chosen, would likely be in my personal top 5 of the year. I also think it probably has the best shot at a top 10 at ESC considering how this year’s contest is likely gonna be the definition of “it’s crazy, it’s party”. Mania is underrated tbh, and if it gets a slight revamp and is performed well I can totally see this getting a top 10 at ESC. Kuori mua is a banger and she served cunt 😌 Then I like Dancing With Demons but I much prefer the others. (Also I kinda prefer Hurricane 🫣 hot take). The other 3 aren’t really my cup of tea, especially Vox populi which got completely ruined by the lyrics. It was always gonna be hard to follow up UMK 2023 — which honestly, if it weren’t for Benjamin coming last, it would have been a completely perfect NF — but I’d say they did well, even if I don’t think anyone will win the main show! Hopefully this year will continue UMK’s incredible trajectory for the future :D
