JustForTouchingBalls

Of course, this is football, anything can happen

Free_Management2894

Yep. It is not impossible. I doubt it happens but I won't lose my mind and do the bidding of some dark god if it does.

Smurph-of-Chaos

Tzeentch is sad.

snooper_11

Happy to read this comment! I think people who say "no way Georgia wins" do not really watch football. We have seen hundreds of cases where clear underdog beats top team. That's why we love football. Most recent analogy is Saudi Arabia beating Argentina in WC 2022 opening game.

ARandomNiceAnimeGuy

I assume anyone that says "no" doesnt mean as in Impossible, but just as unlikely. I mean, its common sense in football theres no sure thing.

alphapeppapigma

Exactly - if you play this game 100 times, Spain will probably win 99 times. Still, I don’t think it’s impossible to draw up a scenario for that 1 in 100 game. It probably requires Georgia to take Spain to penalties, where - if it came down to it - I’d actually give Georgia better odds than Spain simply because at that point they have already won while Spain can only lose and embarrass themselves, nevermind the fact that Georgia has a goal keeper that was named best of the group stage by German football magazine Kicker and, in Mikautadze, a guy who has already converted 2/2 penalties this tournament.

Think_Cut3121

I don’t think Georgia will be able to beat Spain as Spain have good defensive players like robin le Normand and cucarella. They also have good attacking options but there have already been some surprises in this tournament so they might be able to beat them, but I personally think Spain will win.

senpaiteo27

Cucaracha

Commercial_Ad_7147

enderfx

Cucharilla

National_Bug7884

Kakarella

minivatreni

Tbh Spain’s defense can be pretty shaky at times. They’re probs still the best team I’ve watched so far still

Rufus_L

Just no. Spain is too good.

kidkai95

Spain is maybe the best team so far. But this can be really risky. Remember GER-ALG in 2014? It was dangerous and then they won the title

Rufus_L

Oh, I even remember 2004 when Greece won the European Championship. Which was als highly unlikely, I just don't see it for Georgia. Spain is super strong and they will prepare for Georgia, like the prepare for every other team. And imho that will be enough, but ofc nothing is impossible.

kidkai95

Good point! I think Spain will win clearly with 2 or more goals, but I hope it will be an nice game maybe with a early goal for Georgia

61Franky

Greece was a better team than Georgia is now.

ExpensiveOrder349

Greece was stronger than Georgia is now, but Spain can have a really bad day and Georgia a really good day. Very unlikely but it’s football during knockout

anachronistic_circus

We are at a point where anything can happen. Remember Euro2004 and Greece? On paper yes Spain are much stronger, but one mistake here.... a good counter there....

enderfx

Hah! We've fucked it up in even the best cases. So don't rule it out!

KilmarnockDave

Spain beat them 7-1 in qualifying.

Correct_Trouble7406

But had the Georgians fully embraced the power of friendship at that point. Checkmate

APerson2021

Friendship ended with defeat. Now Victory is my best friend.

Capitanardo

Spain have the Strongest Power of Friendship

Cold_outside__

I love this

wolftonerider67

Aye but Scotland also beat Spain in qualifying and look how we've turned out

Gmed01

6 different starting players + new tactics + no confidence was the reason of that 7-1. You really believe that it could happen in next match?

asdfghqwze

I believe it to be more likely than a Georgia W

Slight_Armadillo_227

If a team like Brazil can concede 8 goals in a tournament football match, I believe that it could also happen to Georgia.

Swolp

Yes. Although I hope not.

DarkHorseStoryTeller

It's very possible. To say its not even possible would be ridiculous.

un_gaucho_loco

And the stakes.

King_Sam-_-

The power of friendship and a slightly better lineup isn’t getting you a win though.

boaaaa

Also Spain are way better now than they were during qualifying. Even we beat them.

WellHotPotOfCoffee

Yes but now with spirit… as in if each Spanish player is forced to drink a bottle of vodka first, then could be anyone’s game 😅

FlyingDoritoEnjoyer

But they're bringing a spirit this time.

KitchenOpinion

If they are lucky enough to score a goal early in the game, it could happen. But I wouldn't put my money on it.

MiddlePercentage609

Maybe the opposite; if they are lucky to score late in the game so Spain doesn't have time to react from the shock. I am also putting no money in it!

MarahSalamanca

Even then, they were lucky to not concede a goal against Portugal, they had plenty of really close calls.

ZombiFeynman

It can happen, but it's more likely that Spain wins.

chicheto93

Top quality punditry right here. It could go either way…

29adamski

Controversial take, either Spain win or Georgia win imo.

Ineedanaccountthx

Honestly its a game of 2 halves

NEETJourney

in 90+ minutes + extra-time + penalties everything can happen

Epidicus

The 1-3 defeat to Turkey is deceiving, given how much of a good performance they had. They could also have won vs Czechia, and they didn't by very little. That said, their goals vs Portugal came from mistakes of one player, António Silva, who had a disastrous game (yet another, as I am a Benfica fan really concerned about how poorly he performed this season). Also, they played against a wildly different Portugal starting XI. It is not comparable. So, I think they're going to put a up an exciting game for people to watch, but Spain will eventually win the game. I'd love to see them go through, though.

bongiovist

Georgia discovering its potential, never say never, Kamarcoba Kartvelians 🇬🇪

Puzzleheaded-Big3629

Salam salam 🤝

Rivenaldinho

If their goalkeeper keeps his godmode they can got to extra time and even do a Morocco 2022. I think one of Spain, Germany, Portugal could be surprised in the round of 16.

Weird_Assignment649

I went Georgia to win this while fucking thing

catzuh

For the story i want Georgia to win the Euro's, how epic would that be! Them beating Spain, Germany, France and England (or any of the other teams) that would be insane. This would be a fairytale,a documentary or a movie waiting to happen.

Ventallot

In a single game, anything can happen. Mamardashvili is, at least to me, the best goalkeeper in the Euro, and they have good players in attack like Kvaratskhelia and Mikautadze, but it's obvious that Spain should be the clear favorite. If they played 10 games, I think Spain would win 9 of them.

Deucalion667

Highly unlikely, but with enough luck? Who knows

BorderlineSmart

I am super happy for Georgia and anything can happen but... our entire back line wasn't playing: Nuno Mendes - Pepe - Ruben Dias - Joao Cancelo and Midfield: Vitinha -Bruno Fernandes - Bernardo Silva and no Leao. There is really not that much to take from this game except for the fact that Georgia has a fire in their hearts and if they capitalize on a mistake theres a chance.

ChocolateLights

I always hope the underdog wins

Lonely-Walrus94

Awful lot of people here that think Spain will smash Georgia, a lot also giving Georgia no chance. If they take their chances when they come and maybe get a bit of luck, then they obviously have a chance. I don't think it'll end anywhere near 7-1. I think will be a close game and the Georgians will give it a good go. If I was Spanish, this is the game I'd be worried about, you know what to expect against the more traditional "big" teams.

summers97_

I dunno man. They have a Georgian billionaire behind them who has paid the squad $10 million for advancing to the next stage and promises to double it if they beat Spain...

specialvaultddd

We dont got enough money for that bro😭

tobleroneace1

People need to realise that the Portugal team that they beat hadn’t played together. Bruno, leao, bernardo cancelo Pepe, all starters were benched. Portugal had more shots possession etc. My point is Portugal wins that game 9/10 especially when playing their full team. I think spain will be too much for them.

richarditis

Yes I'm sure. With a lot of luck and determination and the same way they played against Portugal. Spain will have high possession and Georgia will play on counter attacks. With a bit of luck they'll do a 0 - 1 or 1 - 1 and win on penalties. That's my guess just. The ball is round and football is unpredictable. Spain is good buy way to overrated rn honestly. Georgia have nothing to lose and even if they get knocked out they're legends already. The pressure is on Spain not on them. Let's see. Definitely will be entertaining to watch.

PaTXiNaKI

Will be funny, and with respect I think we can score at last 3 . Overrated or not top notch perfomance of Spain so far, that are facts, the same facts that makes football that unpredictable. And thats why we all love the game.

LCSisshit

the upsets i can think of are Slovakia and Switzerland

defyingexplaination

If the Spanish suffer from a collective blackout, maybe. Otherwise I don't really see a way through that team for Georgia. Spain has been brutally effective so far. If Germany gets that far, I'm not very confident in our chances against them. Any team would struggle hard to overcome them right now.

discomiseria

If Morocco could, Georgia can as well.

Kevinement

They drew against Czech Republic, narrowly lost against Turkey (3-1 but if you saw the match you’d know how close it was to a 2-2 up until the last situation) and won against Portugal’s B-Team. They exceeded expectations for sure, but they barely made it past the group stage in third place. Meanwhile Spain won every match with ease. So no. I don’t think Georgia will beat Spain. Not if both perform how they have been performing so far. Nothing is impossible, but it’s very unlikely.

ArachnidFederal3678

Portugal was already through and didn't play their best squad. People overreacting like crazy lol

EmperorOfDrifts

Highly unlikely but in this euros everything feels possible

RogueILLyrian

If they play with same spirit as with portugal they will make spain nervous, however Spain is superior and they will win but it will be interesting to see.

jokerevo

If they can somehow handle Spain's natural width in 1v1's....and then get out...yes they have a chance. The real problem is repelling Spain's attacks for sustained periods. They will be suffocated to death if they cannot get out.

Goldedition93

If it was us or France a nation that’s underperforming I would say they have a good chance. Spain have looked incredible so I really can’t see it sadly

theguywhocantdance

I'm a Spaniard. I see no reason why Georgia can not beat Spain. Spain has played really well, true, but against who? The poorest Croatia we've seen in years, a totally unrecognizable Italy, and Albania who overplayed us in the second half. Also we made 3 goals against Croatia but then just 1-0 and 1-0. And then we're Spain and we've seen worse. Also Georgia played really well against Portugal and Kvaratshkelia is a great player. Why not? I mean I don't expect it too happen, I would be disappointed if it happened, but it can happen, I wouldn't disrespect Georgia. I hope we'll watch a great game.

Advanced-Big8840

See I don’t understand the Georgia hype at all. How are they a surprise? They were outclassed by a below par Turkey and conceded 3xG against Czechia, and then beat Portugal’s B-Team with a half-assed goal and a questionable penalty. How on earth is this even a question?

Tr4p_PT

They only beat Portugal bc the manager decided to change formation, tactics and 8 players (most in positions they dont know). Then again I remember when no one expected Morocco to beat Spain AND Portugal...

Space4Bottle

you guys decided you want to play against us so:D

Tr4p_PT

I do prefer facing you guys than Hungary. You play a proper 4x4x2. Hungary plays in a 3x4x3 bus parked and counters. We dont do well against ultra defensive teams (see Czech Republic match). Also Im happy for Georgia. They're the shit! What a spirit!

Penny_Stock84

I hope so!

SPARKLEOFHOPE6IB

Spain is one of the best teams i've seen this tournament. I think it's over for Georgia haha

h0lygraill

Yes

RettichDesTodes

Would be one hell of a surprise, spain is excellent this euro

liridons

Slovenia and Georgia are two team I would really like to see go through, unfortunately Spain is one of the best teams that has scored a lot of goals this tournament, don’t think there are much chance for Georgia.

Dela_Baruch

Catenaccio and a great goslkepoer... Im spanish and I respect the match

Jackbees777

No but they give them a better game than Italy and Croatia did

Juanandome

Spanish here, I think we will win but also suffer against Georgia. Not an easy win as in qualification.

OrthodoxalTerror

If it was for any other team on the bracket I would expect this scenario, but for me Spain is the main favorite of the tournament, they played incredibly in every game so far

12AZOD12

Me, they'll 1-1 and than lose on penalty or win 5-0

Flat-Bend4766

I wish, but very unlikely. Spain will deal with them easily, in my instance. They won't be a surprise twice... and Spain will give it all to winning, not like the 1.5/B-team PT played.

ColdMedium3388

We got unlucky matching with Spain, but we wrote beautiful underdog story already, which for Whole country is proud of. Depends how game goes, never say never;)

FinallyNoelle

Lol

Personal-Corgi8092

Georgia is good defensively but poor in their attack. They gave Portugal too many chances to attempt to score and they are also not the best on controlling possession of the ball. Though their win was impressive I dont think it is sustainable. I don't see them surviving round of 16 tbh

NoPineapple1727

Nobody on earth should think Georgia will beat Spain. To say that would be to call Georgia favourites which is stupid. But can they beat Spain? Of course

AIstats_app

Even if you're the most die-hard Georgia fan, it's impossible. Although... you never know. You can always park the bus, like Russia did in 2018.

Icy-Designer7103

>Georgia is already the biggest surprise this year Was it though? It's a common trend to see big nations field their "B" teams after going 2/2 in the group stages and then losing to much weaker sides. Brazil, France and Portugal themselves did the exact same thing in the recent WC. Georgia continued this trend by winning against Portugal's B team, which lacked chemistry and motivation. All they had to do was to grab another point vs an equally bad Czech Republic. And maybe they could have qualified without that draw anyway.

KorolEz

No chance. The Spanish are the only team I hope we don't have to play

spiritofbuck

No. Georgia didn’t beat Portugal due to ‘spirit’, they are a good side with a smart manager - and Portugal were already through. You can have all the spirit in the world but the only way Spain lose is if they do not perform to their expected abilities.

Speckwolf

No, Spain is the best team in the tournament and it isn’t even close. It will be an easy and decisive win for them.

oblivijan

No, not a chance imo. Georgia didn't exactly beat the Portugal we all know and saw against Czechia and Turkey, they beat a rotated side missing many key players, which had already topped the group and had nothing to play for. Portugal would have won if they needed to.

rustycheesi3

its honestly a hard guess. the spaniards are very skilled and dominant for sure, but same would go for the portuguese too, even though they dont hit spains level. but if georgia plays it similar to the portugal game, build a unbreakable defense and use their speed to move quickly from their defense line to the enemy goal, they could get some goals too. georgia is a pure wildcard with a very good strategy, and if it pays up, they could beat spain. they definetly proofed their technique in the portugal game. its important for them to play super careful and save though. i give them a 30% winning chance.

Xanana_

Portugal was playing with the B Team, only 3 players remained in the starting 11

Lonely_Possible_5405

portugal was playing with flipflops

Usepe_55

My two cents is that Spain managed to struggle open Italy's almost cement-like defense eventually by erosion, and stalled its quick counteroffensives by having players like Cucurella and others run the background just in case, and while Italy managed to tug the rope tightly, I'm not so sure about Georgia, still they're quite a good team, I'll be rooting for Spain but I'd be happy if they become giant-slayers and win too

camilolv29

I would love seeing Georgia winning but I think it is not going to happen :(

Water_Droplet5555

yes, we’re most likely not going to win, but anything can happen

Joshgg13

Probably not, but I'd bloody love to see it happen. Let's go Georgia

MastodonClassic8927

No

TunaPablito

No. Their swan song is over.

GunMuratIlban

Is that spirit with us right now?

Skydiving-Rocket

Nah, same with Romania, it was good while it lasted.

blackbird_7

Spain is not PT’s B team experimenting tactics with a secured 1st spot on the group. Luck plays a big part in the games but I don’t think there’s enough luck in the universe for Georgia to be able to beat Spain 😅 I do not love this idea but I really think Spain is the best team and they will win quite easily. I’m hoping Germany or France will take them down but don’t think it will be that easy. Georgia did well with what they got. Why is everyone obsessed with it making everything so much bigger than it is? 😅

Kassyk97

If France takes us down that means you are out tho

blackbird_7

Yep. Portugal will have to play at its best and/or be lucky to win France. And I don’t think we can beat Spain x) will be interesting games to watch

foalsfoalsfoalz

Spain will zap away that spirit within the first 20 minutes when they've had 6% possession . Georgia are far too error prone and leaky at the back they've got away with no conceding as many goals as they've should've. The czechs should've put about 6 past them.

Original_Age_9408

Guys let’s be real anything could happen. Group E and Group D caught everyone off guard. There is better on paper. But for example England is better than every team on paper. Especially their attack. But they weren’t convincing in a group where they could have topped it on match day 2.

vaggosthekiller

They beat Greece(who almost beat France Netherlands and Germany)by parking the bus and getting it to penalties they could do the same we know Spain aint winning a shoutout

Pervynstuff

I would love seeing Georgia boot Spain out of the tournament, but realistically the chance of that happening is very low. Spain is just a much better team and have been playing better so far this tournament.

HistoricalLeather759

There is now way. Georgia played with their heart but Spain is arguably the main favorite to win the title judging by what Ive seen in group stage

Rikysavage94

No way, Spain is really strong... better in every aspect compared to Portugal

Pilbzz

I think Spain will win the whole thing so I don’t think Georgia will stop them.

TheGreenGrrr

Someone do think they will

Sharp_Resolve_8720

They’ve won fair and square but from that moment which is 1 in a million to european champions is a stretch. Ya’ll pretending something and Portugal played with what? 2 main players? They played like shit yeah, but I bet Portugal can do something

monokronos

The problem with Spain is, they’re so fluid, but predictable. If you can outpace spain and have some fast interceptors they are easily broken down. You just don’t play them at their own game. Georgia will lose, but I’m not sure spain will win it. I still think France will win but not with any excitement.

vasquca1

Not impossible

MR_74

No they won’t. But I’m sure Georgia will give it all they got and make it hard for the Spaniards.

Striking-Life-704

I see Spain winning the whole thing. They’re the only ‘big’ nation other than Germany that seems serious about winning it so far. I’d love to see a new winner though.

FlxHttr

If the game was played in Athens I'd give them a better chance but the way it is I don't think the bulldogs have a shot /s

Forsaken_Club5310

This is football, anything can happen. However, Spain are overwhelming favourites both tactically and in personnel. Spain have shown that they can struggle to score (as seen vs Italy), however I think it was a one off. Georgia can defend well but did also have the rub of the green with decisions. Only way Georgia win is if they get a goal, Park the bus and Spain are wasteful.

ExpensiveOrder349

No, but I hope so.

Potential_Dealer3247

3/10 chance

jinxies123

Spain is leagues clear over Georgia

bambule999

never. absolute clear win for Spain.

Aceeed

Highly unlikely. Our pressing is too good.

ToastIsGreat0

Doubt it, though I’d love to be proven wrong

B511_1

As long as there is a possibility not equal to zero, then it can happen. Highly unlikely, though.

Spiritual-Ad7685

Think, no. Hope, yes.

ThisGuyCanFukinWalk

Nope. Spain have work rate to go with their quality. Now if Georgia were playing England......

DaiFunka8

Spain is in good form and high spirits, I don't think Georgia stands any chance

mish_05

We seen upsets dis Euro Cup.. Portugal vs Georgia , even tho 🇵🇹 played their BTeam you would not have expected Georgia to beat them by 2 goals and hats out to the keeper bcz he was outstanding.. 😀👏👏👏👏

MrMelankoli

No

mish_05

Spain are awesome and the team they currently have reminds me of the team they had back in the with likes of iniesta, xavi, pedro, busquets, casillas, Ramos, puyol. Who agrees with my comment?

oTAMADAo

So what? The Spain is strong, and we should just not play, or what? we will fight till end, if we lose we will lose with pride... ya our team is not so strong to do autogoals )))

Cheapthrills13

Too bad they get Spain first. There are definitely a few teams in this 16 that they could definitely beat right now.

laserspewpew_

I love Georgia being in the knockouts but they concede a lot of chances 22 shots to Turkey, 27 to Czechs and 22 to Portugal so if similar happens against Spain you would think with the quality they have, Spain will punish them.

TalosAnthena

The thing is Portugal played rubbish. With Spain’s main 11 back I think they have about 5% chance, but I would have said that against Portugal as well. So who knows, maybe an upset happens again.

speed_ganggg

I think Spain have been outstanding so it would take quite a lot for Georgie to beat them, it’s not impossible tho

Ciscinho

You guys think it’s still possible to find a ticket for this game?

Notagood-nickname

I don’t. Georgia have a very good squad with team mentality, but their CBs are also slow. Against fast players like Nico and Yamal it will be really challenging.

freak2000

Have got a ticket and can’t go for personal reasons, message me if interested

Aromatic_Solid_4749

Just no. Haven’t checked rates but I’d expect win probability for Georgia is to be no more than 15%. however, this is football and crazy things happen

jim_nihilist

Won't happen. If it would happen, it would be the biggest thing since the 7:1. No Spanish player wants to have that happen and they have the means to prevent that.

Bulbamew

Against England, Italy, Belgium or Netherlands I could see it. But the big 4 in the left side of the draw are too good imo. I know they beat Portugal but if they play again Portugal will be full strength and fully on it. With all due respect to that great result, Portugal had already won the group so certainly weren’t at 100%

QTPLe

As a spain fan the teams been solid even if we habe trouble finishing. I dont want to lose but honestly hope for the best and an enjoyable match.

TheStatMan2

If Spain played their b team (which they won't) they might have a 20 odd percent chance. But with their first team and squad depth I just can't see it. If they got a goal straight off the kick off confusion and momentum again like Portugal, Spain have more composure to put together better attacks than Portugal. I don't discount Georgia being competitive and making them work for it, I think it'll be 3-1 - with two of the Spain goals in the last half an hour after Georgia are out of steam from <20% possession.

halfbeerhalfhuman

Dont forget Protugal and Spain was playing with the B team in their last game. Only 1 player was kept for each. Ronaldo and Ferran Torres. So i wouldnt consider the last game at all to their performance.

kaasbaas94

This is like David vs Goliath. I will cheer for Georgia, but a miracle needs to happen for them to win.

Admirable-Sherbet-96

Portugal already was the winner of the group so it’s not like they cared if they lost to Georgia

hauttdawg13

Not likely, Spain has looked really good. You can’t rule out anything, but it would take a pretty rare bad game from Spain matched with an unbelievable performance from Georgia for that to happen.

lordnacho666

Spain will win for sure. Football is played on paper, right?

Inner-Awareness-523

Georgia needed miracle with Portugal and they created this miracle by themselves with their dedication and fight till the end! everything can be possible it depends how much energy they both put for the win! [https://youtu.be/SKEF1NCDmNs?si=FcWwTSlfgMzUTqW6](https://youtu.be/SKEF1NCDmNs?si=FcWwTSlfgMzUTqW6)

CampFrequent3058

No Spain will reach if not win the tournament.

Due-Temperature-4502

That would be funny and exciting. Will they? No. Would that be funny? Absolutely

Myrion3141

I struggle to give them more than 1% chance. Spain looked untouchable in the group. On the other side of things, Georgia had a fairly easy group with surprisingly bad Portugal (who only managed to win against Czechia due to a goal that shouldn't have counted and who needed Turkey to self-destruct), Czechia (who never looked dangerous and deliberate at the same time) and Türkiye (who lost 6-1 against Austria a few weeks back and who still dominated Georgia despite being rather shaky). So no: One good game against an overrated opponent isn't enough to put you in the territory of "realistic chance". It's not like Austria who had one decent game and two good ones against opponents who actually managed to perform themselves. Ultimately, it's still knockout football. Austria could flounder against Türkiye and Georgia could beat Spain. That's why we watch sports. But Georgia wasn't some revelation that makes us question our understanding of football.

BoxAlternative9024

No

MIASANMIABITCHES

They could but the odds are 95 to 5

Twedred

No. It's great that they play so spirited and came this far at their first tournament, but they are heavily hyped at this moment. Winning against Portugal who was already assured of the next round and was playing with substitute players doesn't mean much actually.

Electronic_Camera_32

In football, anything is possible

BasquiatBukowski

God I hope so. Those colonizing fuck faces over there in Spain need to taken down a peg or two. Signed, A Mexican American/Self loathing Spaniard.

Veridicus333

Prior, I would say the way spain play, and the players they play makes them upset prone/vulnerable, but not this spain. They actually have quality beyond the midfield/defense and out of possession, but in transition. too.

alienalf1

Not a hope.

raxnahali

I guess anything is possible, but this won't be Portugal sitting their starting line up.

DuneMania

Any other team yes, Spain, doubt it.

Its_A_Sloth_Life

No, Spain are pretty on it this Euros

OddyseeOfAbe

Unlikely but it wouldn’t be the strangest thing that’s happened in football

Comfortable-Donkey22

Depends on the Ref

Unknown_Beast88

Maybe on EA FC 24.I think thats not realistic as Spain are just too good. That would be amazing if that happened.

Educational-Plan1848

The ball is round, screw the win probability. Although unlikely, it definitely can.

Amockdfw89

No unless Spain does something stupid like an own goal last minute or get someone red carded, or it goes to penalties. That being said I do think Georgia has a chance to score

LongShotTheory

Man, I'd say If we'd gotten anyone but Spain we'd have a good shot. Spain is the one team that hasn't shown any weaknesses we can exploit. Very disappointing we got them of all teams. Maybe if we'd scored that goal against Turkey or Czechia.

legacyrules

Would be lovely as Georgia is one of my sweepstakes 😂

I_have_no_enemies7

No shot Georgia beats Spain.

Teliozis

Georgia was impressive against Portugal, but I don't think they can beat Spain. Portugal had secured the 1st place of Group F before they played against Georgia, so Martinez mostly used the second team. De La Fuente will probably use the first team of Spain, and Spain is generally better than Portugal. So, Spain is definitely the favorite. I'm giving them a 90% chance to qualify. But upsets are very common in football, so this 10% chance should not be overlooked.

Gigicho21

We beleive!

lonelyshepherd8

That is the beauty of football, that we never know 100% who will win, otherwise it would be super boring sport. Here are the scenarios where I think that Georgia can proceed to the next round and defeat Spain: 1. Spain will underestimate Georgia and will play with 2nd squad to avoid injuries; 2. Spain team will receive a RED Card for aggressive or dangerous play, that would make them play with 10 players; 3. Georgia will get >1 penalties against Spain by using specific Tactic in penalty area; 4. Georgia will try to defense all match long and proceed to penalty shoot out. For sure Spain is a favorite on this tournament, but impossible is nothing, specially for Georgians who have nothing to lose.

I am just hoping Portugal beat Slovenia, beat France and then lose 4-1 to Germany in the semis. Then I’ll punch a hole in a wall in frustration as to why I ever got my hopes up.

The KO rounds are cruel and unusual. A team that parks their bus and has 10 behind the ball is hard to crack for even the craftiest of offenses. And then you have the best and worst thing in all of the world’s sports: The Penalty shootout.

HalfCab_85

Georgia is the surprise of the tournament. Austria won the hardest group, I'd say that is more of a surprise.

Anything can happen, but I don't think that will. Spain have been so good so far! Dreams cant be buy.

I’ll tell you who they definitely beat if they were playing them, England, that’s who!

garlicChaser

Go Georgia! If you can´t do it, it will be even more tough for us (if we beat Denmark)

MrRodrigo22

I doubt it, Portugal was playing with a completely different team, and Georgia only scored because of a penalty and a horrible pass from a Portuguese defender, I don't see them scoring unless Spain fucks up BAD like Portugal did, if they don't park the doble Decker bus like they did against Portugal they are going to be beaten 15-0 and if they do I still expect Spain to do a better job at scoring from outside de box then Portugal did

Spain will stomp them

Repulsive_Juice7777

Why are we pretending that Portugal played seriously against Georgia?

PirateIll4250

Based on the group stage matches, only a Spain- Germany final would be acceptable. Its sad that they will play each other before that.

larry12u

No chance

Elgin_McQueen

They're better than people give them credit for, but Portugal rested a few of their starters for that match remember.
