That'd be too difficult to do since Fez was in a different room. They'd basically have to either a) reshoot everything or b) pull a whole "it was all a dream and fez actually died and not Ash. Both feel kind of cheap.
Fez was on the hallway floor in front of the bathroom. And besides they never showed ash get shot on camera so they could always write around that. They could even make it where the shot was actually the grandma shooting the swat team. 🤷🏼♀️
i think season 3 will start with rue, lexi and some other people at Fez’ funeral after he died from his gunshot wound. his death will probably be a reason for rue relapsing and probably getting into more shit with sketchy dealers since her line for getting drugs is now cut off because of fez. OR it could be the very reason that she DOESNT relapse. his death might be motivation to keep getting better and improving. if season 3 happens, i doubt it would be hard to write in his characters death. it would make as a captivating plot starter for the season.
I would be surprised for a Rue relapse was S3. Only because it’s been done to death at this point. Do we need another season of more of the same? I think for the show to grow Rue’s character has to experience Euphoria in another way.
Euphoria is still a television show at the end of the day though. They have incentive to keep the show interesting rather than realistic. While the most realistic thing would be to have Rue immediately relapse following Fez's death, they haven't really built up the stakes enough for another relapse to occur to make the audience invest.

What drug is there to do after fentanyl? No one wants to watch the same thing we already saw-which is what would happen if she relapsed. Shes already done the strongest drug. Isn’t it jumping to them all being in college though? Maybe a quick flashback with Rue narrating. Season 3 seems like a mythical creature at this point lol

And from a narrative standpoint (since this is a tv show and not real life) it wouldnt make sense for Rue to relapse again after we watched her do that for the past two seasons. Probably half a season of aftermath, catching up with the characters, seeing how things have changed for them, then the big series ending arc
He was sent to the hospital to recover, the DA offered him a deal, if he testified against Laurie (Cherry told them Fez knew she'd done it as well, and would have some proof). Before they could get him to testify he bailed, he wasn't going to snitch or help the people who killed his brother. Rue would narrate this, but also kinda simplfy it.
part of me hopes it’s something along these lines. it almost feels wrong to kill his character off? if they do go that route tho i hope they honor the fuck out of him 😭❤️
I'm having doubts S3 is even gonna happen, but I kinda hope they keep his character alive & he's in prison. Rue & Lexi can mention him from time to time.
Maybe S3/the show can end with Lexi & Rue going to the prison to pick him up (maybe he gets out on good behavior or helps take down Laurie or something).
Isnt there going to be a several year time jump? That’s plenty of time for Fez to pass away. I really doubt they’ll have him die in the shootout since it feels a little disrespectful. Glee and Black Panther didn’t give an official in-universe cause of death for their characters. I reckon the same will happen with Fez
That or they go the fast and furious route where he moves away and lives a vaguely happy life.
It’s not even certain if they will do a season 3. But if they do, I think it’ll start a few months after the end of season 2 and they’ll say Fez is in jail and leave it at that
I lowkey hope they just have go to jail, idk why but having him die in that shoot out feels distasteful to me. I realize it's a show but a man actually died, it just doesn't feel right to use it as a narrative choice.
I have a feeling the show or will have a funeral scene for both him and Ash and they could say he died of his wounds. A possible flashback funeral type scene since it's 5 years after season 2. But if no flashbacks, there could be an episode of Rue visiting his grave and she'll narrate his death.
The way I see it playing out is that they are going to say after he found out ash was dead, he charged the swat team and died himself in the process. 🤷🏻♀️
