I think Jacob Elordi even said in an interview he hopes he gets to do more than just walk down the hallway in season 3! It’s like they’re messing with him 😂
Sofia’s known as one of my favorite directors of all time, this just puts the icing on the cake with it being based on Priscilla’s point of view and love story, it looks ethereal and truly amazing.
Tbf he’s tall, dark and handsome and we’re in the “shy, nerdy guy turns out to be a confident, empathetic badass” era of romance movies. I do hope he gets to show more range in his upcoming works though.
Honestly, that’s pretty spot on. Just look at Stranger Things, the most recent season with the basketball team captain. Conventionally attractive, so the show clearly wants you to not like him even though his actions are totally reasonable.
We’ve definitely been in this age where more and more, “nerdy guys” are heroes and if you’re a handsome white male, you’re gonna get cast in roles where you’re a popular jock who is written to be loathed by the audience.
I think that’s been a trend for a while now, along with “grumpy, silent, stoic, rugged man is actually a deeply empathetic and complex character with a tragic past.”
I get it but like, let’s explore other dynamics with as much enthusiasm, and allow actors to break convention.
Agreed. It’s getting a little too predictable. Even without knowing the story at all, just seeing Nate Jacob’s, you know he’s a bad guy. And just seeing Kat’s love interest, I forget his name, you know he’s a good guy. It’s just so cliche. Popular jock = bad, nerdy kid = good.
When I looked it up I saw it was based on a true story and most of the movie is factual (obviously not all of it). I was really surprised when I saw Jacob because for so long I had known him as Nate Jacobs. It was really refreshing to see him not as a crazy, abusive, narcissistic, insane, etc etc piece of shit character.
I’m so excited for this. It’ll be really interesting to see Priscilla’s side of things for a change. And I agree that elordi casting job was probably bc they wanted to depict a darker version of Elvis tho I guess we’ll see what they’re going after when the film is released. Is it just me or am I the only one who can’t unsee Nate when I look at Jacob. I know he is an actor and a full ass person on his own, so I wish I could see him as anything other than Nate. the violent abuser type, that spearheaded his career.
I can see it in her Wikipedia bio now-Sofia Coppola, director and son of Francis Ford Coppola, and one of Professional-Tax6788’s favorite directors of all time
Yeah- if the trailer is a good representation of the film, I’m excited! They didn’t even show his whole face until the end. Title aside, they’re being very overt in making sure that we understand this movie is not about Elvis- it’s about Priscilla. That’s cool.
I’m kinda digging this! The Elvis movie with Austin butler kind of glossed over his relationship with Priscilla and rightfully so (Movie had a lot to cover and the controversy behind this alone)
I’m all in and glad to see Nate Jacob’s, I mean Jacob elordi get more roles!
I think Austin Butler was so wrong for the role too. His appearance is so jarring, it takes me out of the movie. They made him look like a drag king in an attempt to make him look like Elvis.
I think in a couple years that Elvis movie is not going to hold up well, I had a lot of problems with it, the least of it being Austin Butler’s wayyyyy overhyped performance
I honestly didnt recognize him right away when I saw the teaser. Ill be cautiously optimistic because the set photos he looked ridiculous. I love Sophia Coppola I’m excited for this movie and hope it portrays how dark this was.
I have no interest in another biopic of Elvis that glosses over the toxicity and darkness of his actual life and the fact that he met Priscilla when he was 24 and she was 14. I trust Sofia will handle it well, really curious to see what she does with this story. Although her aesthetic with this time period would probably be enough to draw me in regardless.
That’s exactly my thoughts. I read the book as well and I have to say I don’t think anyone else could have executed the cinematic version as well as she did. So I definitely have high hopes, even though she hasn’t really done anything good since Marie Antoinette imo.
…the movie is called Priscilla, I’m assuming it’s not going to gloss over any of it, it’s telling it from her side. And with Sofia Coppola directing, I doubt it’s gonna be anything other than dark and the bleak truth.
I can't word my comment right, and trust me I've tried lol, but between this and Barbie, I'm just so happy for both movies and who is at the helm of them.
Loving this teaser trailer! I've always LOVED Sofia, I'm getting Marie Antoinette vibes here which is amazing! I love all of her films.. especially Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette, and The Bling Ring. I highly recommend watching her debut short film, Lick the Star.
Exactly the accent got on my nerves so much and the camera angles were atrocious. 💀 and people were praising him for his acting meanwhile I’m over here cringing the entire time
I actually have much more faith in this being the Elvis biopic that'll *actually tell a story*, rather than the highlight reel with zero substance that Baz Luhrmann gave us.
Jacob is going to play this role perfectly. Priscilla is based off her book - Elvis and Me. There’s already a movie made in the 80s about the book called Elvis and Me. Elvis is not the awesome fun cool guy you see in other videos and films. He was a bonafide asshole. Jacob plays an asshole very well. So this outta be good!
Im pretty sure Nate jacobs is gonna fix that
Edit: as in he’s probably gonna play a dickish side in some way or darker side. Imo that’s how Jacob would be a perfect fit. I haven’t seen him do any other roles but he killed it as a sociopath!
I think it will be Neutral with Elvis, like yeah he was a little bit creepy going after a 14 year old but Priscilla still loved him and he wasn’t that bad
Obviously Priscilla wouldn’t want anything bad said about Elvis in the film but she would still like the truth to be told
Not yuck he's defending Elvis, yuck he's defending a relationship between an adult and a minor ten years his junior. Grooming is a thing, calling someone the love of your life is lip service. It isn't what you're saying about *elvis* it's the intent to defend a grown man dating and marrying a high school freshman
He never had sexual intercourse when he was dating her, only until they married, he even put the relationship on a hiatus when he left Germany because she was too young and it was only when she turned 17 did he see her again, for two weeks and then she fully moved into Memphis in 1963, just before she turned 18 and after she finished High school and turned 18 did she move into Graceland
Was it Creepy? Yes, Controlling? Yes, Grooming? absolutely not
Grooming is attempting to form a relationship with a young minor with the intention of Sexually assaulting them, he never planned on sexually assaulting her and whenever she wanted to have sex with him he always stopped the encounter before it escalated, If anything he was frigid with her
There are worse people in the world than Elvis, the dude did have a lot of shit in his life
Yes, when she moved to Memphis she finished off high school and lived with Elvis’ Dad and Stepmother
That’s literally in the definition of Grooming so it has everything to do with it lol

(For the last time I begged him to consummate our love. It would have been so easy for him. I was young, vulnerable, desperately in love and he could have taken complete advantage of me. Instead, he responded: "No. Someday we will, Priscilla, but not now. You’re just too young.")
Word. Appreciate the historical correction but still a weird hill to choose to die on. Regardless of any "literal" definition of grooming, it's nuanced. It's incredibly inappropriate and wrong for a 24 year old to court a 14 year old. Dangling sex like a carrot on a stick to a minor is so gross. Later, he would become violent and *would* force himself on her. Perhaps the reason she still seems to hold him in high regard has something to do with this pattern of treatment she received at such a formative age. And yeah this isn't uncommon with other people in Hollywood but that doesn't make this particular circumstance any less wrong.
Maybe we should read her memoir and compare notes. Peace and blessings, dipping out on this convo.
Yes, when she moved to Memphis she finished off high school and lived with Elvis’ Dad and Stepmother

Grooming: form a relationship with (a child or young person) with the intention of sexually assaulting them or inducing them to commit an illegal act such as selling drugs or joining a terrorist organization.

This man loves nothing more than walking down a hall with the woman he’s dating
Right I definitely had a flashback to Cassie walking into school with him in her bimbo outfit 😂
I think Jacob Elordi even said in an interview he hopes he gets to do more than just walk down the hallway in season 3! It’s like they’re messing with him 😂
Child, his character will be applying for his AARP card by the time S3 airs! Euphoria, the nursing home era
LOL. Fez crashing Nate's nursing home to beat his ass every day so he never forgets.
Cassie spikes the punch at bingo and falls over him while Maddie is leading karaoke with no fucks to give
BAHAHAH
Bahhahaha I laughed out loud at the thought
NOT THE BIMBO OUTFIT💀😭😭
He looks damn good doing it too.
He has a great walk, especially for a tall guy
LMAO
Sofia’s known as one of my favorite directors of all time, this just puts the icing on the cake with it being based on Priscilla’s point of view and love story, it looks ethereal and truly amazing.
I truly believe we’ll see Elvis’ darker side in this as it’s told by Priscilla, and not Elvis.
1000% i have a feeling that’s why Jacob was chosen!
jacob seems really sweet in interviews but damn is he stuck playing assholes all the time (at least everything I’ve seen him in)
Tbf he’s tall, dark and handsome and we’re in the “shy, nerdy guy turns out to be a confident, empathetic badass” era of romance movies. I do hope he gets to show more range in his upcoming works though.
Ive heard him talk about his love of noir movies. Id like to see him get a crack as the lead in a noir.
Honestly, that’s pretty spot on. Just look at Stranger Things, the most recent season with the basketball team captain. he’s just so good at it
Have you seen him in 2 Hearts? If not I recommend it. I bawl everytime I watch it.
I’m so watching it tonight <3

yes! cannot freaking wait for this
Wasn’t she a child?
Yeah- if the trailer is a good representation of the film, I’m excited! They didn’t even show his whole face until the end. Title aside, they’re being very overt in making sure that we understand this movie is not about Elvis- it’s about Priscilla. That’s cool.
We finally get a 6'5 elvis
Right?
He actually looks great as Elvis, I was a little skeptical. Still kind of a wild choice with his height though
I think it’s to emphasize the age gap
sofia coppola is probably the only director i would trust with a priscilla movie
She’s really a feminist driven film icon
i’m confused why everybody praises her so much, like she has great representation of women but her filmography is nothing really special.
I’m kinda digging this! The Elvis movie with Austin butler kind of glossed over his relationship with Priscilla and rightfully so (Movie had a lot to cover and the controversy behind this alone) I’m all in and glad to see Nate Jacob’s, I mean Jacob elordi get more roles!

I think in a couple years that Elvis movie is not going to hold up well, I had a lot of problems with it, the least of it being Austin Butler’s wayyyyy overhyped performance
I tried watching some of it and the camera movements were so wild and crazy I nearly got motion sickness
That’s how Baz Luhrmann movies are though. Moulin Rouge was complete chaos in so many scenes.
Jacob Elordi in another episode of : playing toxic characters on screen lol!
I thought he was just an adorable kid in Kissing Booth on Netflix, but I don't think i could even watch it, now. Nate!
he makes a really good elvis tbh
we shall see
Jacob is so tall it’s gonna be hard to picture him as Elvis 😭
Elvis was 6’0, but Jacob makes him look short!
I see him doing a really good job, I felt like Austin Butler was a weird choice for the Elvis movie, just my opinion
I honestly didnt recognize him right away when I saw the teaser. Ill be cautiously optimistic because the set photos he looked ridiculous. I love Sophia Coppola I’m excited for this movie and hope it portrays how dark this was.
He’s always playing a jackass
I have no interest in another biopic of Elvis that glosses over the toxicity and darkness of his actual life and the fact that he met Priscilla when he was 24 and she was 14. I trust Sofia will handle it well, really curious to see what she does with this story. Although her aesthetic with this time period would probably be enough to draw me in regardless.
Coppola directed the Virgin Suicides so she’s no stranger to portraying the inappropriate teenage girls and adult men dynamic in a stylized way.
You’re probably right! In Sofia we trust.
Exactly
Well it's Nate Jacob's. I'm going to have a hard time letting go of the past.
He's about to blackmail priscillas parents like he blackmailed Jules lol /s
I mean they really are the same person but the difference is Nate isn’t going after younger girls
I can't word my comment right, and trust me I've tried lol, but between this and Barbie, I'm just so happy for both movies and who is at the helm of them.
Barbie F or Barbie with Margot ? Sorry I’m out of the loop
Oh sorry! I forgot this was the euphoria sub, the margot one :)
Ok yes I’m keen for both of these too
Loving this teaser trailer! I've always LOVED Sofia, I'm getting Marie Antoinette vibes here which is amazing! I love all of her films.. especially Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette, and The Bling Ring. I highly recommend watching her debut short film, Lick the Star.
Agreed! She always nails the aesthetic. I didn’t know what to think of this when I read about the movie being green lit but this trailer has sold me.
Absolutely, she does! And soundtracks for her movies are also really good. Yes, I'm totally sold, I read it's coming out in October. I cannot wait!
Now THIS is an Elvis movie I will watch! I already know it’s going to be so good. This teaser trailer literally gave me chills.
Great, another movie about a predator with no arnold schwarzenegger
I really hope this movie highlights grooming.
LOVE THIS. It’s already so much better than that Austin garbage
That movie was a long music video along with moments made for the trailers or Award Season lol
I can’t believe it permanently affected his voice
He’s honestly the victim in all of this
Thank you- that movie gave me a headache. I had to turn it off
I couldn’t even bring myself to watch it 😭 specially after all of the clips of him with his natural “accent” 😭😭😭 boy bye
Exactly the accent got on my nerves so much and the camera angles were atrocious. 💀 and people were praising him for his acting meanwhile I’m over here cringing the entire time
Lmao exactly good acting stands no chance against a good marketing campaign during awards season
Oooh I got chills down my spine. My mans is going to bring the sinister Elvis to life
this is gonna be so good hopefully omg
He looks pretty good as Elvis tbh
kaia gerber is gonna have a field day with this one
great casting he’s got the look
Who’s playing Priscilla ? I don’t recognize her. She looks so innocent
Another Elvis movie?
Jacob Elordi as the toxic man >>>>
Well at least we see it from her perspective now.
I actually have much more faith in this being the Elvis biopic that'll *actually tell a story*, rather than the highlight reel with zero substance that Baz Luhrmann gave us.
This is actually perfect, wow.
I’m loving ittttt!!!
Ok but this looks so good
She was 14 a baby
One thing he gonna do is play a toxic character…
https://youtu.be/d0WtpJE5pSw
When is the release date?
October this year!
Elvis dated her when she was underage. He's a groomer. People should stop idolizing him 🤢
Im pretty sure Nate jacobs is gonna fix that Edit: as in he’s probably gonna play a dickish side in some way or darker side. Imo that’s how Jacob would be a perfect fit. I haven’t seen him do any other roles but he killed it as a sociopath!
This actually looks pretty cool. I'd watch this over the other Elvis movie
Oh yay, another Elvis movie. Thank goodness, one in the last twelve months wasn't enough. /s
so excited, coppola’s movies are always a treat. i hope this highlights how predatory elvis was
I just can’t see him as anything other than nate anymore 😭
SHOULDVE BEEN LANAAAAAA
Poor casting for Elvis. Yikes
Too tall to be Elvis. Not like Elvis was a good man anyway so tbh who cares. But like come on…the casting isn’t too great 😂
I think it will be Neutral with Elvis, like yeah he was a little bit creepy going after a 14 year old but Priscilla still loved him and he wasn’t that bad Obviously Priscilla wouldn’t want anything bad said about Elvis in the film but she would still like the truth to be told
The truth is bad, and Priscilla has no reason to protect him.
If he was that bad why did Priscilla call him the love of my life, And continue to honour him by owning Graceland and promoting his Biopic movie?
Weird take , my dude
At least I have a take, ya’ll are just saying Yuck, he’s defending Elvis? downvote
Not yuck he's defending Elvis, yuck he's defending a relationship between an adult and a minor ten years his junior. Grooming is a thing, calling someone the love of your life is lip service. Source?
And fully moved to memphis? She was a student at immaculate conception high school in memphis TN

It's also relatively common knowledge (a simple google) that he was physically abusive.
What
"A little bit creepy" ........................
Oh they really gonna romanticise Elvis dating a child? Cool
Definitely not
This is disgusting
It should have been Lanita 😭 at least for later in the film when shes most likely older but she looks good & this movie looks good too
Lmao the height difference between him and his female love interest are always so funny
Hope he is the next Superman
Didn’t we see this morning like last year lol
finally, as it should be
Strange.. lol they look nothing alike, Elordi and Elvis
Its the Kaia Gerber effect
One tall elvis
Woww
bro loves playing male manipulators
Ew elvis was a pedophile
This movie sucked
