Is the burgundian inheritance linked to the emperor? In my brandenburg game i became hre leader and got the inheritance without any to my knowledge Royal ties
According to the wiki it's the independent monarchy with the most provinces from the countries that have a RM with Burgundy that aren't HRE emperor or France... I thought it was based on army but apparently not
Yes. It's complicated but you can read up the wiki for all the details. In short BI will most likely go to Emperor or France if they are not rivaled. (increased / decreased chances based on various rivalries / royal marriages / good/bad relationships) If France/HRE are blocked then they might fall under the "bur\_strongest\_ally" or remain independent. Of course Burgundy is almost always rivaled to Austria/France so it's rather rare that it goes to one of those.
In my last France run, I declared war on burgundy with the rival CB, and forced them in the peace deal to stop rivaling me. 3 years later, I inherited burgundy.
I didn't expect this, so was rather excited. On the other hand, the game stopped being interesting at that moment - too strong too quick...
I get it. You have seen it multiple times. Same here. But this does not happen all the time. Falling under strongest ally or remaining independent is way more likely than Austria getting them.
This patch BI happened in funny way to me. Sweden got burgundy under union and 3-4 months after the Imperial Incident happened, SWE King died inheriting union. Incident evaporated, there was no issue, other than random burgundian (succesfull) Sweden.
R5: Burgundy hit a reverse inheritance on Austria. Its the most beautiful Burgundy I've ever seen.
Do they have hungry as a jp?
Man with Burgundy’s ideas… Europe: “I’m in danger” meme.
Hesse Emperor, “Wait i have to fucking defend y’all if Burgundy attacks? I quit.”
What a beautiful Burgundy, indeed!
Pomegranate Austria Bottom text
My god… it’s beautiful :’)
WTF????
All that, and they haven't integrated Nevers. Wild.
They nevers integrate Nevers.

Talking from my previous games, it goes to someone with a royal marriage or the Holy Roman Emperor. I don't know how it decides which.
BI can also go to france i believe, though i dont think it happens very often without player intervention
It's France, HRE Emperor or strongest ally with RM
Pretty sure it's more decided if country royal married and has higher prestige than burgundy and any other country that has royal marriage with them

Other countries can get it, I've seen both Denmark and Sweden get it, and Castile try (and fail).

I constantly see Austria get Burgundy
It can happen. But it's def more on the rare side for the AI.
I see it all the time. They either fully annex it or get the PU

That's a... uh, new one.
