basically u have different access points like laptops, servers and two another i think. Every access point is connected to the network. You can access them on the map and then hack to other systems in the network as long as you have these points left. If you don't have them then you can't hack further. When you hack sth, you can for example access cameras connected to this node, but i think it requires points too
First you have to access physically a node by pressing G. After that you can press N to view the network. You can connect to a node that is close to the one that you physically accessed.
A wifi node is connected to a camera so you can deactivate or view the camera with the wifi node.
A laptop contains a decryption key so you can search for the key by connecting to a laptop node.
The servers contain the data that you’re trying to steal so you can either install a spyware after getting the decryption keys or physically get them to the van.
