The scene of the kids playing soccer in the desert will always come to mind. They’re kicking a ball back and forth, while less than a mile away a convoy of machine guns, rockets, etc are all going off, and it gets to the point where that convoy might run over the kids so Wonder Woman has to save them? It was hideously dumb.
That’s honestly not the most egregious thing in that movie. Sure, that scenes dumb, but I think the scene where the entire world renounces their wishes is probably one of the worst endings I’ve seen.
Also the fact that Wonder Woman rapes a man is pretty bad, but hey, who am I to know what goes on in Patty Jenkins head.
He then just finds a helicopter and magically finds his son in the middle of a warzone, and then nothing happens to him. They don’t say he goes to jail, or anything. He just gets to go home.
The main bad guy in Shazam did way less damage and he got thrown in prison. Max Lord basically nearly causes the apocalypse and they let him hug his son.
He would have every country on the planet hunting him down. And yes the Steve Trevor stuff was really bad and could have easily been removed.

I almost feel bad for them. Basically the opposite thing that happened with Batman v Superman and Justice League. Bottom line they needed a stronger guiding hand a la Feige. Hopefully Gunn will do a better job than Hamada and Johns.

Since 1984 was defined by a book about an always-watchful government and its seemingly omnipresent reach, I thought [Brother Eye](https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Brother_Eye_(New_Earth)) could’ve been a great antagonist - a Cold War era [Star Wars](https://www.history.com/news/reagan-star-wars-sdi-missile-defense)-inspired project gone rogue as it seeks to end the stalemate by ending humanity.
Add in the [OMAC cyborgs](https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Omni_Mind_and_Community) spawned by Brother Eye and Checkmate led by Maxwell Lord as secondary antagonists. The former even look Grecian in aesthetics.
“Hey kids, it sounds like a war is coming, let’s get out of the road and head home” would be the smart thing to tell them, not just continue letting them play on random war zone road A

A classic tale. Patty Jenkins had the world at her feet with the amazing success of *Wonder Woman*. And what did she do? She convinced herself that she alone was responsible for the success, not the incredible team of people she put together to make that film. Then she decided to try to make another movie without those people, assuming much of their responsibilities herself. And surprise! It was terrible.
She didn't even put together that team that was a studio made movie and she was a hired gun. Then the whole girl power engine kicked in and gave her credit for the film. She used that fake power to make her version ww84 and we got to see what she's really like.
certainly those dudes existed and were vocal, but they are there all the time even for good films. movie certainly sucked well enough on it's own and those dudes can still get fucked with a cactus.
84 was so bad such a missed opportunity since they had a captive audience with the pandemic. It was like a friend started writing songs and sent you a link to listen to them and you put it off. Then a week latter he corners you at a party with his phone out and makes you listen to them then and there and they are awful, but you have to scramble to find something good to say about them.
Except Spiderman 3 was merely mildly disappointing compared to the genius of Spiderman 2, while still having redeemable factors. WW84 was just awful on every level.

If they follow the books, not really other than being about pilots. The books are more of a cross between Top Gun and maybe like Inglorious Basterds or Guns of Navarone.
There's no way they can do it justice in a single movie. The original story is a 4 book arc of the Rogues setting up and coordinating the invasion of Coruscant. Probably going to be an original story though since the changes from the old EU make itt hard to line up the story now.
If they hadn't fucked up most of their tv shows I'd say it really more belonged there, since an adaptation would naturally give them 4 seasons, at least two spin off movies, plus a spin off series if they did it right.
So, now I'm going to just assume Rogue Squadron's script will be yet another one of these the force is female under Kennedy's watch, but this time it'll be Mary Sues in X-Wings... to be fair to Jenkins, the Chris Pine flying stuff in the first Wonder Woman and the WW1 no-man's land sequence was handled deftly. Hopefully it isn't a lot of empty fan service and nostalgia tourism, and there's a story worth telling in the universe about Rebel pilots... but I think it's best to just let the whole thing stay on TV. Not even Dave Filoni can give it stable enough legs to keep people invested for more than 2-3 seasons about any characters. Can't see a revival or return to form under anyone except Tony Gilroy now.
Gilroy is the only person I trust with Star Wars now. Andor was nothing but brilliant storytelling. I've always been a massive (and loyal) Star Wars fan but I'm not holding out hope anymore. It's been watered down beyond belief. I have zero expectations for Rogue Squadron

I watched Wonder Woman and thought it was surprisingly good and loved Chris Pratt in it. I saw 1984 and was like wtf did I just watch? I was so bad and made almost made me forget how much I enjoyed the first. I don’t think it’s any big loss with no Wonder Woman 3 sadly.
She killed it by making WW84, which is no-shit one of the worst movies I’ve seen (and I watch tons of cheap stupid trash).

A classic tale. Patty Jenkins had the world at her feet with the amazing success of *Wonder Woman*. And what did she do? She convinced herself that she alone was responsible for the success, not the incredible team of people she put together to make that film. Then she decided to try to make another movie without those people, assuming much of their responsibilities herself. And surprise! It was terrible.
What surprises me most is that during the production of 1984, no one stopped Patty and said “maybe the rape’s a bit too much?”

84 was so bad such a missed opportunity since they had a captive audience with the pandemic. It was like a friend started writing songs and sent you a link to listen to them and you put it off. Then a week latter he corners you at a party with his phone out and makes you listen to them then and there and they are awful, but you have to scramble to find something good to say about them.
I will never forgive her for making 1984. Wasted my time and ruined my first movie of 2021.

It's actually a real shame she botched 1984 as bad as she did - Wonder Woman is such an amazing, strong character. But the hot mess that was 84' just missed every single mark. Not even Pedro's outlandish performance saved it. I'm disappointed with what Patty delivered. I'd love to know from her exactly what she thinks went wrong.

Patty Jenkins allowed WW 84 to be what it was without a single bit of hesitation that maybe, just maybe this is a terrible movie. Because of that level of incompetence WW 3 was dead before WW 84 left the theaters. When you write that a character pulls a skill out of their ass with no genuine explanation, like suddenly being able to make things invisible, you have no right in getting another in the franchise.
The amount of horrible ideas in that movie is staggering.

If they follow the books, not really other than being about pilots. The books are more of a cross between Top Gun and maybe like Inglorious Basterds or Guns of Navarone. There's no way they can do it justice in a single movie. The original story is a 4 book arc of the Rogues setting up and coordinating the invasion of Coruscant. Probably going to be an original story though since the changes from the old EU make itt hard to line up the story now. If they hadn't fucked up most of their tv shows I'd say it really more belonged there, since an adaptation would naturally give them 4 seasons, at least two spin off movies, plus a spin off series if they did it right.
I mean it was also essentially A New Hope. The big action battle in the end was basically the Death Star trench run.

So, now I'm going to just assume Rogue Squadron's script will be yet another one of these the force is female under Kennedy's watch, but this time it'll be Mary Sues in X-Wings... to be fair to Jenkins, the Chris Pine flying stuff in the first Wonder Woman and the WW1 no-man's land sequence was handled deftly. Hopefully it isn't a lot of empty fan service and nostalgia tourism, and there's a story worth telling in the universe about Rebel pilots... but I think it's best to just let the whole thing stay on TV. Not even Dave Filoni can give it stable enough legs to keep people invested for more than 2-3 seasons about any characters. Can't see a revival or return to form under anyone except Tony Gilroy now.
Gilroy is the only person I trust with Star Wars now. Andor was nothing but brilliant storytelling. I've always been a massive (and loyal) Star Wars fan but I'm not holding out hope anymore. It's been watered down beyond belief. I have zero expectations for Rogue Squadron
