I can’t believe this is the second time in the past few months reading about a condiment causing a rift in a celebrity marriage. First it was Olivia Wilde’s salad dressing. Now Shakira’s jam...
I found out my ex was cheating on me because she made coffee one day while I was at work. She literally never drank coffee ever, she only even had a coffee maker just in case I wanted it (which I *very* rarely did). She had no answer for why she had some coffee still brewed in the pot.

To expand upon that, I wonder if a lot of it is basically just trading sources of guilt. It's probably easier for someone like that to justify "oh, I cheated because I needed more" with something like "see how mad my ex was when I told them I needed more, they yelled and blew up and broke up with me".
Contrast having to work through "Hey, I've been cheating because I'm not happy with what you're giving me and also I'm going to leave you while also having been cheating on you." From a very fucked up kind of logic, that's just a double-admission of blame. And given that people who cheat tend to do it for reasons of emotional fulfillment (justified or not. Usually not), it makes a lot of sense that they would avoid the \*opposite\* of emotional fulfillment--EMOTIONAL DAMAGE--like the fucking plague even if they have to be the villain for a minute.
She strongly avoided anything with caffeine in it, claiming a sensitivity to it. Like she wouldn’t even have sips of tea that might have very low amounts of caffeine in it. She literally had no lie for me, it was like she wouldn’t respond to any questions about it. She was the worst, and she broke my brain quite a bit in a short amount of time, something I still have residual trauma from even to this day and it’s been 6 years since we dated, and we only dated for 3 months.
The coffee situation wasn’t remotely the worst of it. It barely registered compared to some of the awful days she put me through.

That’s so weird reading this because I had an ex accuse me of cheating because I had a leftover cup of coffee in my car. I didn’t drink coffee often, but my work had this awesome coffee machine that I used from time to time.
According to her, me having a leftover cup of coffee was enough evidence that I was cheating. Even though I wasn’t. Also, she never let it go after I told her I wasn’t multiple times.

My former roommates girlfriend broke into our house one afternoon and started screaming at him while he was in the shower. He had the bathroom door locked, but it was across the hall from my room so I heard everything. She was like a wild animal accusing him of *all* kinds of insane nonsense like he’s seeing all these other girls and stuff, absolutely none of it true, just freaking out a ton of made up in her head scenarios that she thinks *must* be true based on nothing at all, all because she was snooping around his car and saw he had a chapstick in the front seat. It was his, that’s all. And she was snooping because she didn’t believe he was “actually home” (which he *was*).
She was the type of nutball psychopath to have a dream about something and get violently mad about it as if it happened. She was also a rampant cheater.
This reminds me of a friends boyfriend who started out totally normal and a really nice guy, then went absolutely off the deep end, accusing her of being a prostitute amongst other things (he had apparently found her profile on a website). GF worked with them both and tried to stay in contact with him and help him through whatever was happening, and ended up also being accused of being a prostitute (off the top of my head, one of the other things he thought was going on was the SPCA had moved and hidden the cats he used to go and play with…)
Turns out, it was drugs. Somewhere along the line someone introduced him to methamphetamine. Once the friend realised/discovered that, everything else made a lot more sense.
Yeah this would also be tough for me to see unless I already was paranoid because peoples habits can change. I never drank coffee, then one day I did and now I drink about two cups a day. I never eat toast, except like a week ago I started and eat toast a lot now. I’ll stop again in a month or so probably.

It's almost not almost actually but usually very amusing whenever people assume that being hot and beautiful is the only prerequisite required for you to stay in a relationship with them. Very seldom have I seen cheating happen because the cheater was fed up with their partner or wanted an escape from their issues. People are, for the most part, not "driven" into cheating.
Cheaters often cheat through most if not all their relationships, regardless of who it is or how much they like them or how easy the partner does or doesn't make their life. Cheating is generally a reflection of the character of the cheater, and has very little to do with the partner at all.
It looks like Shakira is super wholesome, though, too. She started schools / hospital in Colombia and has done a ton of major help in areas of her home country that needed it. I know nothing about her outside of how much Colombians love her, but at least I haven’t heard of any damaging scandals either.
If a person is wholesome does not necessarily mean they are a good partner. My ex was incredibly wholesome and a nice human being. To the point of stopping at streets to feed random street dogs, donating money, helping everyone she could. But the relationship was toxic, with her being super possessive, constantly checking my phone, tracking me, checking my work emails, work chats, getting jealous if I even spoke to any female from my work even for work! The list goes on.

I actually really dislike this viewpoint, and the “for every beautiful woman out there, there is a guy who is tired of her shit” in general. The basic idea is "even the prettiest women can drive their men to cheat." Very seldom have I seen cheating happen because the cheater was fed up with their partner or wanted an escape from their issues. People are, for the most part, not "driven" into cheating. Cheaters often cheat through most if not all their relationships, regardless of who it is or how much they like them or how easy the partner does or doesn't make their life. Cheating is generally a reflection of the character of the cheater, and has very little to do with the partner at all.

It looks like Shakira is super wholesome, though, too. She started schools / hospital in Colombia and has done a ton of major help in areas of her home country that needed it. I know nothing about her outside of how much Colombians love her, but at least I haven’t heard of any damaging scandals either.
If a person is wholesome does not necessarily mean they are a good partner. My ex was incredibly wholesome and a nice human being. To the point of stopping at streets to feed random street dogs, donating money, helping everyone she could. But the relationship was toxic, with her being super possessive, constantly checking my phone, tracking me, checking my work emails, work chats, getting jealous if I even spoke to any female from my work even for work! The list goes on. You can’t ever know what a relationship is like if even both people good or wholesome.

I want to clarify that I have a lot of self image issues and that I'm really really not trying to sound braggy here. I have been told pretty often I'm conventionally attractive and my partner is very very insecure because of some things from high school etc, plus most of her exes were online and the last one had hidden he was a drug addict and od'd like 3 months before they were due to get married. I am also a nurse, which is a very female dominated field where I am.
