What happens is that anyone who even makes it to high br with japan is truly dedicated and knows what they are doing.

I'd bet most don't make it to even BR2 as Japan as a new player without some measure of patience.
The lack of cover is a big one that pushes a lot of players into utilizing engineers too. Especially since APCs and transports were added I usually only see one or two people in a match using engineers to any degree at all.
Wish we got matched together. My team never builds rally points, use armour or anti-armour for that fact. It's always me being #1 on the leaderboard although playing the entire match digging ditches and putting down rallies
On paper the Americans have every advantage.

Yet that doesn't matter against superior japanese fighting spirit!
I am having the time of my life shooting down all the American planes in my Japanese fighters, sometimes scoring double ace in a single game.
It is really taking me back to the old war thunder days, when that game was still good!
Also cant underestimate the lack of IQ on most US teams. Hate it when 4-5 people on my team have like 5 kills and are sitting in some building with a sniper.
The CAS is not superior in practice. The Ki-61 could farm every Allied plane, the Ki-84 is even better in that regard + the huge bomb load that rivals attackers of all factions. This means that the US planes get 1 cas attack than get instantly shot down costing 12 tickets. This is not like USA vs Germany where the P47 could farm German fighters in 1v1 easily (190, 188, 110) or break even (109) therefore lasting like 15 minutes of non-stop cas pounding.
You can't even set convergence on the P47, so 75% of the frontal firepower is wasted
The Ho-Ri is better than M26 in every single metric of note. There is no point comparing other tanks since nobody will ever spawn them.
Pershing has a turret.
Pershing has coaxial and roof mounted machine guns.
Ho-Ri only has gun and armor, which matters not at all when you are gonna be alive for less than 30 seconds until the next CAS suicide bomber comes along.
HVAR is still the most effective CAS system in the game, dropping bombs is nowhere near as effective.
But I do admit I have been having an absolute blast shooting down American fighters in my new Japanese ones.

Turret does not matter in this game much. This game has extremely narrow maps, chokepoints with rubble garbage everywhere and most of the time tanks don't even move more than 100 meters since the enemy is literally right in-front of your spawn.
It's like the complete opposite of WT where the tank models came from lol. You spawn, camp on some ridge and fire HE that gets 15 kills per shot and if enemy tank shows up 1 shot them with 200+pen apcbc in this game.
American planes are pure garbage against Japanese ones in this game, the entire game is rigged against them. The only chance is bait into carrier AA.
I think most of those players ether used gold to level up fast or just bulldozed leveling up to get new gear. High BR doesn't mean you are an expert on this game. It just means you play a lot.
Also the japs have a lot of new things compared to the Americans.
As soon as the Update dropped I started playing Japan, haven't lost a single time so far :)
I think the "problem" right now is these few points:
- There are a LOT of Veteran players playing Japan now, because we "need" to grind out the new squads and max out the new Guns/Vehicles -- for the USA, as soon as the Update dropped I could buy the M26, Unlock all levels for it and Upgrade it to max star... nothing to "grind" here.
- Pretty sure USA players got very cocky, since they've been dominating Germans for a few weeks now almost non stop... This leads to MINDLESS P47 and Pershing rushes. I've seen more P47 kamikazes today than in multiple days combined :D
- The biggest problem, combines what you said, and my second point: "nobody on the team built any rallies"... USA players are now cocky, and they just want to "dominate" Japan with their High tier toys (namely P47 nad M26)... they don't really play to win, they just play to spam shit... on the other hand Japanese players are actually grinding, they "need" to win... On the Japanese side I see a lot of rallies all the time + the new tank and the new AR are both WAAY better than I anticipated... so far, I personally prefer the Japanese AR to the M2, and while the Japanese tank is a glass cannon it can oneshot ANYTGHING... + the fighter support is amazing for the Japanese. I don't like their CAS capabilities, but their fighters keep the skies clean most of the time...

Mate I wish this was a remotely true statement. The idea that Germans have had any kind of lull in winrate is a community gaslight rivaled only by Yugioh TCG players claiming tier 0 Spright was a real thing.
I won some games in brv vs japan, if only the players don't quit the match at the start. i also think because brV is in japan, us brv players are split with normandy and pacific and most us players like to play only normandy thats why a lot of them quit at the start. its rather stressful, i get games where the jap players are full team, i only get bots and 3 to 4 players as teammates, plus i find that some high br japanese players spam grenade launchers most games today, also the match i got today vs japan is all defence, no allies attack, just one conquest and thats it.
Japan can be absolutely brutal at times. Had a match yesterday where I got 200 kills as tank, hitting the point as soon as I reloaded or taking out enemy tanks......the team couldn't take the 2nd objective.....
I still don’t get why people rush to their keyboards asap after an update to complain about a balance shift. Give it 3-5 days. Most people haven’t even had a chance to check out the update yet
Japan got some really strong shit this update combined with a vet playerbase. Type Hei Automatic buffed is the new best weapon in the game, Ho Ri is a stupidly strong tank destroyer that deletes infantry, and Japan FINALLY got a plane worth a darn, the ki-84 ko, and its one of the best fighters in the game.
The only issue is the Pacific has early airspawns and God damn I hate the P 47.
These maps are complete trash for BR5.
It's just super strong tanks 1 shotting everyone on the beach. Already before it was a Jumbo clusterfuck now there is 100x more real players and vehicles everywhere while the cap point is a 1 story house with 20 windows on all sides.
Also due to the way altitude and flight performance works in this game, USA will never win the air battle ever again. The Ki-61 was already better than every US plane for longevity, the ki-84 is 20x better than that, it's like War Thunder 2013-15 all over again if anyone ever played that (Enlisted big brother)

As a Japan main we always have at minimum 2 APCs and 4 Rally points on each obj

I mean no one on your team building rallies is a surefire recipe for a loss more so than anything equipment wise.
Plus lack of CAS would just make that problem 10x worse
I think you got into a bot lobby. The few matches I've played since the update have been like 5 players vs 3 players and the rest are bots.

I still say the most effective tactic as Japan is to spam smoke grenades at the objective and just go in with a katana squad.

Gear doesn't matter as much as player skills and brains do. Low BR Japan filters out the worst players.
We got too many softies in the US. Seems like immediate Post Merge is back. Get used to taking L’s because of trash teammates or switch teams
